Nice little local bar. Sits right next to Hillcrest Hospital. Kind of doesn't fit in its spot, but knowing it has been here since the 1960s, I guess it does. Not a big place, but enough high tables and bar seats to take in a small crowd. A few low tables are in a room off the main space. Large patio outside. I am sure it gets busy out there during nice days. Nice prices on my typical drink. Got a calzone which has to be the reason they attract people. It was quite good. Guy next to me had a Bigger Boy burger which looks to be their signature burger. It was big for sure, and nice and sloppy. Looked great! Keno and sports always on and wonderful tenured staff who has been there for years. Parking sucks but park cross street at hillcrest near the helipad and walk over for easy in and out access if tiny parking lot is full. Worth the walk. Promise! read more

Stopped in for lunch. I ordered the chef salad. It used to have thick cut chunks of cheese and meat. Now it's thin sliced ham, american cheese, and some white cheese that had no flavor (used to be swiss but this was not swiss). I saw no turkey on mine. My husband got a side salad and said it tasted weird. He got the fish sandwich which he said the fish was good but it had way too much lettuce and no cheese. Service was quick. read more

I was looking for corned beef sandwiches that I was getting for dinner for my wife and I. I had just finished my job ubering and was about 30 miles from home. I was going to pick up corned beef near my home but, instead I looked at Yelp. This place was nearby so I decided to stop get the corned beef now before I travel home. I go in to the bar area and server greeted me. I asked for two sandwiches. She replied no don't carry. I said that yelp showed corned beef. In fact , many reviews said positive feedback. The server said yelp was outdated and didn't think much of my disappointment. So, although a nice place, I left and drove home and ended up buying the corned Beef at Slyman's where I was headed in the first place. Shouldn't the restaurant update the Yelp site? I get take out about twice a month...I usually call in my order, and stop in and have a drink while I wait.. The bartenders and the person who usually takes your order are all very nice. it's loud, but friendly. They are pretty busy and the wait time is appropriate... Drinks are good. Greek wings (I get less rub) are wonderful. We often order wings, salads, pizza and or sandwiches. I can say all salads(chef, Caesar, Greek) , are very good - as are meatball subs, chicken sandwiches and calzones. Can't go wrong.. the parking lot can get crowded and sometimes my husband will wait while I pick up the food to avoid tight parking... Have been coming to the Cork and Bottle for years with friends. Always a nice spot to grab a brew and bite to eat. Nice local dive bar. My go to is the Chrissy pizza with a side of marinara, breaded mushrooms or a Greek salad. My friends love the Greek wings. They do have a pizza night but I can't quite remember what day it's on. Bartenders Caitlyn and Kat are amazing!! I do find if they aren't there many of the bar staff is quite moody though. Def stop in if in the mood for dive bar atmosphere and food!! read more

Terrible rude service from the Caucasian bartender working this early afternoon, I've been coming here for years, I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN! It was appalling, my pizza was made incorrectly, me and my 4 year old grandchild came for lunch, ate a bite and I went to the bar to check out, because she never came back to my table, she slammed down an empty box and you can clearly hear being slammed, a customer next to me said "damn that was aggressive" her response was that's how she does things, bad business, watching her movement with other customers it was clearly colorism I was dealing with! As many have said the bartenders suck; typically dismissive, rude, inattentive (unless you are a "regular") and potentially racist however the kitchen staff's the total opposite. Most of the food is meh but the Greek wings are really good. Get those, order to go and you'll be happy. read more

We arrived with a large gathering with no reservation. Sorry! Most sat outside. The waitress, yes, the one and only waitress was doing fantastic. Then, a young man came and started helping. We learned it was her son. Both did phenomenal, considering our surprise drop-in. No complaints by anyone with the food. I had their meat lovers pizza. Was very good. Would go again. I'd say they can handle large groups like our hockey team and parents, but for their sake, call ahead. Once again sorry we did that to you. Very limited parking. read more

Every restaurant starts out at 5 stars and it's up to them to keep it. The Cork & bottle has been around for as long as I can remember and I went to high school in the 80s. Ironically, many people went there to drink underage LOL It was a Saturday night and we decided to try the Cork & bottle to get something to eat and we had a challenge of 11 people and it's more or less see yourself however a nice fellow moved so we could have two tables next to each other. we put the adults at one table and the kids at the next table. our server was very quick with the drinks but when the bar is three steps away that's a good thing I guess haha. We ordered some sandwiches I got a chicken Philly but we started out with some wings beforehand. my wife ordered a Caesar salad out beforehand and it took him a whopping 2 minutes to bring it out it was almost too fast! they had four different sizes of pizza and I got to tell you it's probably some of the best pizza I've had in awhile. The kids were able to get six inch pizzas which is just the right size for a kid. My wife got an 8-inch Pizza. there's a joke in there somewhere about not getting 8 inch very often. While I understand that this is a bar 1st the food was actually really good. My chicken Philly was served on a nice soft roll nobody had to send anything back and everything was eaten and enjoyed. this is one of those hidden gems that people will gladly drive by because it's not flashy but these are the kind of places that I like. Stopped in for a quick lunch with my girlfriend. The food was just ok. Standard frozen burger and onion rings. My biggest problem is that there was not a mask in site on the staff. Bartenders, barback and cook. No masks. Customers allowed to walk around with no masks. We'd have left if we hadn't already ordered. Covid is a huge problem. Restaurants need to follow these guidelines if they want to remain open. read more

I called to speak with a manager, was put on hold for 5 minutes, then was told to call back the following day. NOPE. I will stop ordering from them AND stop referring people there. Cork-N-Bottle has been around for decades and is one of the best food options if you are visiting Hillcrest hospital. Great prices, a tasty bar-food menu, and Keno if you want to test your luck! Walking into CNB you see a great patio outside and a large bar inside, with some high tops, booths and a side room for more restaurant style seating. I would consider more of a bar than a restaurant but don't let that fool you into thinking the food isn't good. My co-workers and I come here for lunch a couple times a month and between the group of us we have seen/had just about everything on the menu. People rave about their pizza, and I can attest that it is well worth the price, but I prefer their burgers or their wraps. I am a basic burger guy and CNB makes them just how i want them. The buffalo chicken or chicken cesar wraps are my go-to's if I'm not in the burger mood. The creamy-ness of the cesar dressing or the spice of the buffalo sauce really make them both. The wings have been hit or miss the few times I have got them but when they hit they are a home run, especially the Greek wings. The side salad is also huge, if you want a somewhat healthy side. My co-workers usually get the fish fry because the portion is large and the coke slaw is good but they also love the Roman burger sub and the Cork bigger boy. The Roman burger sub comes with grilled salami and capicola that just add a ton of flavor to each bite and the Cork bigger boy is a double cheese burger with cork sauce that reminds me of the old big boy burgers. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu from what I have seen. We also love to throw a couple bucks down on Keno and watch our numbers while we eat. The most glaring negative about Cork-N-Bottle are the parking lot, which you notice right away. The location is convenient but the parking lot is congested and very difficult to pull out of with traffic. If you are at the hospital, walk over. The only other area of improvement is service at lunchtime. Sometimes they just seem understaffed with the bartender being the only server on the floor. read more

Yessssss, another Mayfield dive bar. I went there with a female friend for some pre partying and something to put in my stomach before going to hang in Beachwood. Beachwood is kind of growing on me, yeah it can be snobbish and some people really take themselves way too seriously, but I still have fun. One thing that really disappointed me was, no nurses. My husband and I have been here three times. This place has pizza that was highly recommended by friends and completely lived up to the hype. The first time here we were completely ignored by the bartender for the initial ten minutes we were at the bar to the point that a regular customer actually commented on it and called her out on it... that really didn't help but we did get drinks and with a pissy attitude she took our food order. The pizza pizza was fresh, hot with melting cheese & delicious nuggets of sausage. Absolute perfection. We had to be at Hillcrest the next day and decided to roll the dice & give the place another try... darned if that witch wasn't there again. We got the pizza to go. Today we tried AGAIN... pleasantly surprised. Our bartender Ashley was fantastic she was attentive and completely made up for the last two visits. We stayed at the bar for well over an hour for pizza & two rounds of drinks. The entire time we were there she was hustling around the entire bar with a great attitude. This is a good place to go for a quick drink to a dinner with the family to watching the game. Not real huge inside. So seating may be limited. Parking lot is tight too. Sometimes hard to get in and out of as well. Food is pretty good. Pizzas are good. Salads are good-nice portions. Sandwiches like the burgers are good too. Cannot complain about the food. And you get a good portion for your money. Drinks are not expensive either. Good bar. Here is what makes this place less than 5 stars. It's the service. It's not that the wait staff is not nice or accommodating. It's that I've been here on more than 1 occasion and been at a table, and no one has come to the table at all. To get drinks or anything. We've had to go to the bar and ask for menus and drinks. Then we've been left along for the majority of the meal. No refills or to take away plates or get napkins. Nothing. Stopped in twice while we were at the hospital having are son, very conveniently located when you are sick of hospital food. I would say it is your typical bar food, all of which is very reasonable priced for the portion size and the drinks are also not going to break the bank. The pizza and burgers were very good and will definitely try again if we are near by. Apps are mostly fried with a few fresh options. We tried the greek wings which were not bad but really nothing special and the greek seasoning was not even noticed all they tasted like was lemon. Service was good and bad. The good bar tenders are very attentive and i never had an empty glass, the bad is that both times i went and ordered take out they forgot one of the things i ordered. Order #1 they forgot my greek wings which i was not charged for and really did not miss because we ordered to much food. Order #2 they draught my food out and i double checked it this time because of the prior nights issue and low and behold my cheese anf bacon fries were missing. I told the bar tender who quickly remedied the problem and did not charge me for the fries that were out in less then 5 min. All in all for the first 2 times i have been to Cork & Bottle it was a good experience and a very pleasant change from hospital food that costs more with not drinks at all. read more
