    Looking back at California coastline

We were fortunate to book this stunning vessel for a burial at sea, on 24 August 2019. The captain, Bob Harrison & his entire crew are consumate professionals. I can not find enough words to describe the feelings evoked in every person aboard. The boat was built the same year as the departed, who had also built a boat with his brother, & it was docked at this same marina. What a truly memorable & healing experience. If we lived there in Southern California, we would take the champagne cruise & whale watching as well! Top notch experience & a stunning day. Thank you Curlew!

After waiting 7 months our family got to celebrate our Mom and Dad's lives and say goodbye with our immediate family. The afternoon weather was perfect and we were so pleased by the crew of the Curlew and how Dana Wharf handled all the arrangements. Such a beautiful sailboat for sailing and celebrating my parent's life. The sails full in the wind, the bells ringing and the cannons shooting. Grateful for a beautiful day.

We took a group of people out on the Curlew this weekend for my birthday. What a beautiful day and an amazing lifetime experience. Of course it was easy to book. The crew was pleasant, and wonderfully accommodating. We had a little brunch on board and sailed around our beautiful Coastline. I highly recommend the experience.

An awesome time with a great crew. This accommodated a large family gathering (over 30 people) and there was a lot of room. What I really appreciated was they found a large pool of dolphins swimming in the far distance and increased the speed of the boat so we can see them. Some of them were on the side of the boat. How cool is that!

I want to thank Captain Bob Harrison and his crew for the blessed opportunity to provide Michael and Grammy Ruth's burial at sea. It was a beautiful day for our family to congregate on the historic Curlew Schooner for a loving memorial.

Ask the Community - The Historic Schooner Curlew

The plackard says it was abandoned at sea during a hurricane off Bermuda in 1962. How was it recovered and what led it to Dana Point?

Are the original plates still on this ship? , i ,am a collector of rare items and i found part of a dinner set . i bough from a collector ,it say on it , CURLEW on the bottom of 2 flag form royal Worchester.ty for anwsering

I do not believe these plates have anything to do with SV Curlew. There have been nine ships in the Royal Navy called HMS Curlew, and four ships in the US Navy under the name USS Curlew. Likely the plates were associated with one of the HMS… Read more

We used England Family Mortuary for our Mom's final arrangements (Mom was alive at this time but…read morebarely). Honestly one of the most challenging things I have ever done in my life. It took me about 5 minutes sitting in my car to get myself together to walk into the door. Once I made it past the front door the staff was amazing. A gentleman that I didn't catch his name expressed his genuine condolences and sat me into a conference room. I didn't have to wait long and Zac came in to walk me through everything. When mom did pass. The arrangements were executed without any hiccups. I am very thankful for their service in our time of need and would recommend them to anyone else that has a loved one that needs arrangements done.

Joey greeted us and made sure we had what we needed. They had everything ready on time, were very accommodating and the place was immaculate. The sanctuary itself was beautifully decorated, I felt so comfortable, like I was at home. The bathrooms are super clean and smelled really fresh as well. We wanted to serve coffee and some snacks, they had 3 tables ready to go in the back of the room which I decorated and arranged food on. I brought 2 carafes to make coffee in as well as table decorations and some finger foods. It worked out perfectly. Overall, we were all so grateful for everything England Family Mortuary had to offer and the services they provided. They are 3 generations of caring individuals who put a great deal of pride into their work and mortuary. I would use them again in a second. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, you offered peace and protection during a very hard time. We felt you were on our side. We're so grateful.
