Previous reviews are for the previous owner…read more We've stayed in B&Bs across the country for years, and sadly, this was by far the most unsettling experience we've ever had -- which was deeply disappointing, as we've been visiting this property for over 15 years under the former owner, who was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, the new owner's behavior was unprofessional and, frankly, upsetting. When we called for help with the front door (which wouldn't open), he responded with hostility, telling us he wasn't our "servant" and proceeding to lecture us for nearly 20 minutes -- without letting us speak. The call was loud, one-sided, and extremely uncomfortable. It escalated further when we were briefly locked out remotely, seemingly as a way to assert control. Feeling threatened, we stayed inside the rest of the evening, watching the door. We also spoke with another group checking in the next day who had their own negative experience. One of them said, unprompted: "This man should not be running a B&B." We agree. I rarely write negative reviews, but in this case, there are much more welcoming, safe, and professional options in Hancock -- I highly recommend choosing one of those instead.

First time we have been able to go away for our anniversary-ever. The cabin is beautiful, secluded and wonderfully stocked and clean. This is our 6th time renting from this company so we knew what to expect. However, this is the first time we had a problem. The hot tub did not work. It would not heat. Gary, from maintenance was wonderful and came and tried to fix it but it needed parts he could not get over a weekend. We were extremely disappointed because this was a big reason we came here and paid extra was to have a hot tub. Ok, things break. Biggest issue for me though was the lack of communication. First, when Steph, the owner did contact me it was through email, which I did not check because I am on vacation and they have my number. Then when she did actually call-the day after we reported the issue, she suggested we could use the cold hot tub. Also, the problem was electrical so, no not going to sit in a cold hot tub full of water with an electrical problem. She proceeded to then tell us that she would contact us later that day about a discount. That was yesterday morning, it is now 11 pm the next day and we are leaving tomorrow. I called her this morning, had to leave a voicemail, requested a call or even a text rather than an email to get an update on repairs and to discuss that discount. No call, no text. Zero communication. I cannot begin to express how utterly disappointed I am not only because I did not get to soak in a hot tub for 3 days like I planned, but on top of that the absolute lack of communication and complete disregard for us. She did not even ever say she was sorry this happened. Not once. Very bitterly disappointed. I still gave three stars because thanks to Ashley, the cabin is wonderfully clean and because Gary really made an effort to correct the problem, coming out on his weekend three times. We were very grateful for his efforts.

There also was a nice screen porch with patio furniture. Where we constantly sat to enjoy our coffee. This is a dog friendly environment. We only have one dog and we paid the additional fee of $30.00. It's not a bad fee at all. The back deck patio is spacious and that is where you will find the hot tub as well. We really enjoyed ourselves. We played games and watched Netflix while indoors. There is no cable but the phone and internet service worked out great throughout our whole stay. This can be for a total of nine people. We stayed a total of three nights. FYI while using the gas grill on the porch. Please make sure the kitchen door remains shut. The smoke detector went off and scared my poor dog. He was shaking because the lady's voice was loud and we couldn't get it to shut off. It finally did but that was a bit much. Yes l want to be safe but it was the smoke from the grill. Besides that we had a great time and definitely plan on returning next year. Berkeley Springs is a beautiful area with the Cacapon State park a short distance away. This also had an extra bonus a basement with the washer and dryer and tv. Daybed and my son said it was quite comfortable down there. Can't wait to return!

He has a bike shop to take care and store our bikes. He had cold Gatorade when we got there after a long 64 mile ride. Joe made a wonderful breakfast for us before we headed off in the morning. Staying at Bay Farms was perfect for my needs, with a beautiful room and amenities, a super, super comfortable bed, and a perfect breakfast to get my days started!!! The house is ideally located just a couple blocks off the towpath and there are several excellent restaurants right on the same block or short walking distance. Jessie also gave me an excellent recommendation for someone to help me shuttle my car from one trailhead to another - Rose was phenomenal and so knowledgeable of the area and best places to park my car in the morning. I was able to secure a parking spot right in front of the house both nights, but there is also a well-lit, free, public parking lot just steps behind the back of the house!! Perfect! I could not have asked for better people taking care of me this weekend! I highly recommend Bay Farms B&B, especially, if you are biking/hiking/walking the C&O Canal Towpath!

The breakfasts were delicious. The location cannot be beat. And the house, is just so lovely. Each room unique and charming. Sit out on the front porch or relax in the living room. Enjoy a short walk (as in, to the end of the block) to the Roman Baths and spa. We had a fairly robust schedule because we were in town for a conference - Nancy accommodated us by leaving wine in the evenings, and preparing breakfast early in the morning so we could enjoy before we went out to start the day. For the price, you just can't beat it. Wonderful find!!! Everything just perfect.

Thanks to the town of PawPaw to give a very nice, bike friendly route into town. Highly recommend ending your ride here so you can start the next day with the PawPaw tunnel' We were welcomed with a fire pit & wood, a beautiful little suite beautifully painted with wildflower and mountains, WiFi, a French press, huge, clean bathrooms & all sorts of fun reading materials about the two trails. Laundry facilities were sooo welcome due to constant rain & mud. The bike wash was just as essential. Whomever devised this little getaway clearly knew what's up!! THANK YOU!! Check in and out was hassle free -something you need when you're not quite sure what Mother Nature or your bikes (or body) will throw atcha. I would recommend this spot in a heartbeat. Plus? We befriended a father/son team also thruing it on bikes so it was wild to see them 50, 100 miles down the trail! Positive vibes!! Oh, and Big & Tiny's is a must stop!! However, I had two concerns on this visit: 1. The mattress in the Victorian Suite on the first floor is way too soft and isn't planned for replacement soon. 2. Heather and others in the kitchen didn't wear face masks while preparing food and serving it.
