First of all, I placed an order online. They had the local store deliver it. They only delivered part of it. When I contacted them, I was told that they are not going to honor the advertised sale. They contacted their ".com" about it. They won't honor the sale either! The next day they removed the sale. Now, getting my refund is ridiculous. I paid through CashApp. Home Depot sent them the refund, but they did it incorrectly and CasApp denied it. They won't listen. All they say is "it went through on our end". No it didn't. They don't have a Manager so the Assistant manager is in charge. He is an absolute joke! Something needs to be done about this store. read more

I bought a Ryobi charger and on the websit. It said when you buy the charger you get free weed eater, blower, battery and charger for free. Well, I ordered the charger and when it came it was only the charger. I went online to chat with customer service. I talked to 2 different people that night and they both didn't know what to tell me. They told me to go to my local store and discuss it with them. By the next morning on their website the free items were no longer on the site. So, I went to my local store and apparently the promotion ended the 19th and I ordered it on the 20th. But on the 20th it was still on their website and never did say anything about it expiring. The guy at the store called .com to discuss it with them. So, .com told the employee that he would contact Ryobi and see if they would honor the promotion. He said I would get a email from them letting me know their decision. I never got a email or any response. Home Depot should of honored that promotion because that is who I ordered it from. Since I haven't heard anything from anybody, I will be returning the charger to get my money back. I will not shop at Home Depot again. I really thought Home Depot would have customer service, but apparently they do not. Their attitude surprised me also, as they were not helpful. I will not buy any Ryobi products again. I am a female senior citizen and I thought getting those items free with my purchase of the charger would be wonderful. It would of helped when I take care of my yard. Our refrigerator broke and we had to get a new one. So Josh helped us and we got a new refrigerator and then also a freezer for the garage. The refrigerator won't be here till the 12th but we could get the freezer today. Josh was so wonderful, he delivered it today! Home Depot you have great employees! Give him a raise!! read more

I visited the garden section and no less than half of the plants were either dead or severely wilted due to lack of watering. It was so sad to see so many resources wasted and now bound for the landfill due simply to mismanagement and laziness. As a horticulturalist I was left with such a bad taste in my mouth of the state of things that I don't believe I can visit this place again. I can not trust that the plants purchased here have not been badly abused and stressed beyond what is acceptable. I'm so disappointed that I visited with the attendant who was in his phone the entire time I was there. 30 minutes as I went around watering the most affected plants. When I told him of my disappointment on my way out he briefly looked up from whatever he was watching and said yeah man it sucks. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. read more

Every time I shop at Alamogordo Home Depot I receive excellent customer service on returns, they truly are "hassle free" Today August 20, 2022. I had to return some items that were not compatible on my shower handle and needed the right connections and P Trap for my new vanity, I had 2, very knowledgeable, friendly associates help me find everything I needed to finish my remodel project. These associates went above and beyond my expectations. I shop here frequently to get all my remodel needs met quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended store. read more

I just wrote a one star review strictly for customer service and product delivery related issues at the Alamogordo store location. My wife and I own 8 businesses between Southern NM and Colorado. We exclusively shop at Home Depot as we have always had a positive experience. We spend a lot of money at Home Depot every time we build out a new location. From this point forward we will be taking our business elsewhere. In November we purchased 11 doors for our home on custom order (size, door type, swing, hinge placement). The doors were delivered to the store and we picked them up from the store in Alamogordo, NM. The doors were on a pallet and wrapped in cardboard and plastic wrap. We placed the pallet in our garage and hired painters and contractors. We then went on vacation and had the painters and contractors come to our home to first paint then install the doors. The painters sanded, stained and sealed all of the doors first. The contractor came and began the install of all of the doors. Nearly none of the doors fit (the door measurements weren't accurate with what we ordered, the hinge measurements were correct only if the doors were hung upside down, which didn't work bc the doors have a top and bottom and because the handle wouldn't line up correctly, and we received two different types of doors, 8 of the 11 are not the style we ordered). Our contractor had to cut al the doors to fit, re-cut all of the hinge placements, and adjust our door jams for the incorrect swing orientation. The painters then had to come and stain and seal the doors again to adjust for the corrections. They also had to putty and repair the door jams where the swings were incorrectly aligned. Why didn't we take the doors back to Home Depot? We were on vacation. The doors had already been stained by the painters and stainers and the contractor was simply trying to make them work since the doors were already modified (the painters). Additionally, he had no clue why there were two different styles of doors. He did his job and hung the doors. A job that should have cost us around $1200 cost us $2,200 because of the added labor and work because of incorrect orders. I called after Christmas following our door installation and spoke with Lupita Vargas the assistant manager who was less than polite when discussing the situation with me. She then said she would speak with here district manager and see if they would be able to do anything to assist me with the issue and possibly provide a store credit to make the situation whole. She said she would follow up within a week. I never received a call back. I followed up on Jan 15. and spoke with Jacob Addison, another assistant store/service manager. He was very polite and empathetic. Said he would discuss the issue with the District Manager and contact me. I never heard back from him. Today Jan. 24th I followed back up to see if there was any resolution. I was again transferred to Lupita who just fell short of scalding me for not returning the doors instead of having them worked on and installed. I was not around to notice the doors were incorrect as I was on vacation. The painters had no clue they were incorrect and the contractor was trying to get the job done prior to us coming home. She was rude on the phone and said that I am unable to speak to the District Manager and told me that I would need to contact customer care at 800.466.3337. Calling customer support will be my next step. Mistakes happen and I understand that. I am extremely upset that my issues weren't addressed more appropriately and that I wasn't treated with respect by a company whom, until this point, I whole heartedly respected and believed in. Moving forward we will not purchase from Home Depot. We have spent a lot of money at Home Depot in the past. Not as much as some major companies but we spent $80K in Durango alone building out our store there. We are a company that is rapidly growing and plan to add one location a year for the foreseeable future. Today Home Depot is losing our business unless customer care is willing to address the issue. I was a loyal customer of Lowe's for years. See my review of Lowe's. I've taken my business to Home Depot recently and could not be happier. There are actually people wearing the HD aprons in the aisles ready to help. And they make eye contact unlike Lowe's employees who look the other way when you're trying to get help. The customer service desk is staffed with friendly people who want to provide that service. I would have rated HD with 5 stars but I wanted to leave room for further praise after a reasonable amount of time. read more

We were trying to get new flooring in dinette and living room. Went to the store, selected a color, talked to Carlos, who was very helpful. He stated installation would be $1.50 per sq ft. He stated husband could get a 10% military discount. We had the measure guy come out, then got the estimate. Installation was quoted at $1.99 sq ft. Went by the store today, asked about the difference. Henry, assistant manager, couldn't determine how to change, because they agreed it should be $1.50. Then Henry stated husband's DD214 wasn't correct documentation for military discount. He was also very dismissive. I am not going to go here ever again. I forgot how poor customer service is. why treat someone so poorly? And if they only give 10% military, when Lowe's gives 15%, and you can use DD214 for proof of military service? sorry Home Depot. done with you. read more

The Home Depot tool rental is an authorized Ryobi warranty service center. I took my brand-new, would-not-start-from-the-box, Ryobi 4-cycle string trimmer in for warranty work. Prior to taking the trimmer to them, I troubleshot the no-start problem as per the owner's manual to check for contaminated/bad fuel and the fuel and fuel filter was still clean and new. I did find the real problem of the broken heat dam and told the repairman at Home Depot rentals about the problem. (The heat dam is like a manifold between the carburetor and the engine.) They charged an extra $43.95 to clean my not-dirty fuel system of contaminated fuel and to change the fuel. The fuel tank had the same fuel in it that I put in at the exact same level when I left the trimmer with them. The manager was called and I told her what happened. She said too bad and I had to pay the bill or leave the trimmer as abandoned equipment. I gave her a choice to either take my $43.95 for this fraudulent work and I will never shop at Home Depot again or forget about the $43.95 and keep me as a customer. She chose the $43.95 and Home Depot will lose thousands in sales from me in the future as I was a regular shopper. Note: They did make money on the warranty work but they are apparently greedy and wanted more money for unnecessary, non-warranty work. (Be careful of what you initial on their nasty little service contract. One line authorizes them to do $100.00 in maintenance without consulting you again and you have to pay.) The extra charges are even more infuriating as the trimmer is originally a hundred dollar piece of equipment. I consider this entire experience legalized theft. On the good side the trimmer works great now and I got the yard looking nice. read more

I was refused the military/veterans discount at Home Depot today despite having offered my Veteran's Benefit (Disabled Veteran) ID card. The young woman told me "Only on Memorial Day, 4th of July and Veteran's Day". She assured me that Lowe's now had the same policy. I told her I doubted that since I had just come from Lowe's. I purchased the items I wanted anyway and promptly checked Home Depot's website where I was assured that she was in error. Poor training I can understand. However, when I called that Home Depot I was transferred to a "Manager" who, as I was introducing myself, said "Just a minute" and started a conversation with someone near him He then came back on the line and had me start over. When I explained the issue he said he couldn't hear me very well and said he would call me back on another line "In a minute or two". Here I sit with the phone in my lap... I'm pretty much done here. I was drifting away from Home Depot anyway because half the times I walk into the store I can't find an employee anywhere in the aisles. The store seems deserted... More so now, I guess. read more
