My wife and recently purchased a wall oven from Home Depot from the Home Depot Cottonwood location on 10200 Coors Blvd. Our sales person, Amber, the Appliance Specialist was awesome. She helped us pick one out and said it would take a couple of days to arrive and when it does, call this gentleman and he will install it for you. Well we have been waiting 8 days and he thinks he might be able to install it next week sometime. No date, No time, just maybe we can fit it in. We spent over $1600. for the oven, not to mention the $2600. refrigerator we purchased last month. The oven has been sitting in our dining room waiting to be installed. They had no problem taking our money, but it doesn't do us any good sitting in the living room! I guess I expected better service after working in retail for 36 years and being taught customer service and communication were keys to a successful business. I would kill and die for Steve. We just bought our first home, and she's a fixer upper to say the least. We came in for all the supplies necessary to replace the bathroom sink drains and install a brand new kitchen sink. Steve was so kind, so patient, and walked my fiance through each step of each project, then double checked everything in our cart to make sure we had what we needed. Had we not found Steve, and were forced to stick with the other guy who I'm pretty sure is a 3rd party with ulterior motives, we would have been cutting PVC pipe for drains with a hacksaw like water-quality boy told us to. Haven't shopped at Home Depot since moving to Albuquerque. Poor & unresponsive management at this specific store caused me to go elsewhere. HD was my go to for many years, but no more. I needed some small pieces for a project I needed to finish - since I pass this store on my drive home and my usual stop would be closed before I got there, I stopped. I pull into the lot and see 2 security company vehicles parked at both the east & west entry points facing each other with all of their lights on, flashing red, blue, & white lights, plus headlights and taillights, reverse lights and emergency flashers. Quite the light show. The bigger issue for me was all these lights and their irregular flashing brilliance could trigger a seizure in someone prone to seizures. The vehicles were unoccupied so I went into the store, found the security guys operating the vehicles and gave them this info. They responded that it's what HD mgmt wanted. Went back the next day and talked with an asst mgr about my concerns. He defended the decision because it was to help "prevent theft" I understand that. But are the other risks worth it? He said he'd talk to the gen mgr. Ok thx. I checked back about 10 days later - no change. Obviously belief these lights will deter theft (hint: it won't) is more important than protecting a customer who may be adversely affected - sad. This reminded me why I stopped doing business with HD in the first place. read more

Home Depot's Price Match Policy is a scam and bait and switch in my opinion. I found bedroom furniture from a reputable online furniture retailer and asked for a price match. I spent over one hour on a virtual chat while the rep tried pushing every reason to NOT price match. Here are the (bogus) "reasons" you might hear to deny a Home Depot price match: 1. They will say the reviews of the comparable company are bad (I provided links from from Sitejabber and Trust Pilot--both had favorable reviews for the other company). 2. They will try to say companies are drop shipping from China (I sent proof this wasn't the case). 3. They will try to say that the competing store isn't a retailer (the one I was attempting to price match with has physical store locations which I pointed out). 4. They will say it's not the exact same set with the same sku (the comparable company offered the same brand and style in either a 2, 3, or more set...which was the technicality "leadership" finally used to deny a price match). I've been through the process twice in the past week over the same furniture set which is why I was more careful the second time through. I get the impression that the virtual chatters goal is to NOT honor the company's written policy. Bought a grill a week and a half ago that was supposed to be ready and assembled. Went in twice to find no assembly and that the 1 guy who put them together called in sick. I had no problem picking up 2 days later. I called the morning and talked to customer service that said it would be assembled and ready. Came in again to no assembly and the manager didnt even know if the guy who assembles came in. Paid for a service that never got completed. I see a ton of bad reviews on here and corporate needs to assess this store and make some changes. The customer service and communication between managers and workers is non existent. Home Depot has the most dysfunctional website. And shopping at one is a nightmare. They had something listed on their website that could be ordered and delivered with free delivery. I had to sign up for an account. OK I did that. Then after I went to the cart I was given two options, pick up in store, or pick up in the parking lot. I cancelled the account. Previously we had purchased an LG washer and dryer. There were some questions about our order. So I called the number on the card of the sales representative who answered the call and said there was nobody there by that name. I guess contractors which is their main income source don't care about these things. And as far as Home Depot is concerned the walk in public are worthless. read more

My contracter couldn't make until 5 days later and determined that this stove top will not work with my counter. The unit was never touched, just the box opened. For the past decade, plus, I've been a huge Lowe's supporter. I've noticed a distinct lack of customer service at The Home Depot, often to the point of major frustration. Recently I decided, due to time constraints, to go ahead and buy my next hammer drill from this outlet, which is much closer to my house than other home improvement centers. And it played out worse than my low expectations anticipated. So the power tools are locked in cases, I get it, I live in an impoverished place, that's fine. But the dude who "helped" me, who I sought out and begged for assistance, didn't bother looking at the box he retrieved for me. Twenty minutes later I was still waiting for him to "help" me and I just said Forget it, this place doesn't deserve the Benjamins in my pocket. I walked out. Later, I took the drive to Lowe's. Someone approached me and asked, "Hey, can I help you find something?" "I need a hammer drill. Doesn't need to be cordless. DeWalt." I have now done 2 curbside pickups at this location and have been very impressed with the caliber of the staff and follow through. Had several months ago picked up a recliner and today a fire pit. Both times of very good quality and a good price. And w fire pit was super happy it was put together. So now I know curbside in store is better than house delivery for sure. Yesterday, I went to the Home Depot tool rental counter. Walk up to the counter which happens to be staffed by two broke down, mean, unfriendly, disheveled (one worse than the other) guys. It first I thought they were doing a parody of irascible TV grump characters who hate it when customers show up. I wanted to rent a Ditch Witch and one of the counter guys trudges out to the equipment yard to get it started. He wanders back about 15 minutes later and said he forgot the key. Then he begins to search in the key lockbox. Looks, looks, looks and finally declairs the Ditch Witch key is MIA, pick something else. I select a Toro, it gets started, success. Sidebar...Some HD organizing Not-Genius, has designated the convenient door adjacent to the rental counter connecting to the equipment yard as Exit Only. The employees use this door and let each other in. However when a Customer comes to the door the counter guys all shout... Go Around. Now comes the return of the Toro. Which did run well for 4 hours. The original two grumps are not to be seen, now a new different customer disliking man is behind the counter. While I am in line waiting, of course a customer comes to the the door at the equipment yard. The new grump barks "Don't open it" to me. I don't like a cashier barking at me, so I opened the door and let the customer in. The new grump goes hysterical, ballistic screaming at the customer I let in, ignores me. Snatches that guys paperwork as says 4 hours and 45 minutes. Says it just like.. I've got you now. (Big penalty over rental time) Well funny enough, the customer is bringing back a broke down piece of equipment that he had rented for the day. Hysterical counter man doesn't even say a word to the customer about the hassle of stopping his job and driving back to get a working equipment. There are many tool/equipment rental choices in Albuquerque. If Home Depot believes this is acceptable customer service and the Home Depot tool rental counter guys hate customers so much, I hope they get what they want and lose their victims. read more

never never use Home Depot to replace windows. My window replacement started 9 months ago and is still not completed. Their pricing is good but they measured my windows wrong on 3 different times. They had to replace multiple windows due to defects but the worse part was the customer service was run from Phoenix Arizona office. They do not call you back and you have to constantly contact them for updates. When you pay over $10,000 to have your windows replaced and it's supposed to take about 3 months and it's now out to 9 months and still not finished cheaper is not better. Simply put they don't do a good job of follow up or follow thru. read more

I must say I work all over the country and this is the dirtiest Home Depot I have ever been into. The bathroom doesn't look like it has been cleaned since the store was built. Sinks, walls, floor, toilet, urinals all nasty, and worst of all the baby changing station was so filthy I would be afraid to place a child on it. Lights throughout the store are out which makes it hard to see merchandise especially the fasteners. Holes in shelves where merchandise should be. This is for management, How can you sell what we need unless you keep the store stocked and maintained. I guess I will need to find a Lowe's and buy what I need. read more

The employee makes announcement for someone to help me no one shows up. I heard the announcement & the guy from the area said no one made an announcement. I paid for 50 pavers & he gave me 42. I had to go look for him again to let him know he only gave me 42. He said he counted 50. I told him we counted twice & number is still 42. So Home Depot charges a damage protection fee that is optional but if you dont Pay for the fee then you responsible if anything you rent their breaks down which is ridiculous that's just another way for them to make money off people that don't even have that much money. Super impressed with the customer service and strength of the employees today. After a customer was politely asked to stay BEHIND the lines placed on the ground to uphold the GOVERNMENTS rule of staying six feet apart, they customer did not listen and was asked to leave the location. The customer became irate, loud and obnoxious even stepping in the workers face. After again not listening to employees and leaving, the customer demanded a manager. Again, SCOTT the store manager, dealt with the man amazingly. Supporting his employee, as he should, he told the customer to leave and the customer presumed to threaten Scott, get in his face and even raise hands to him. 1. Placed an order with the SW ABQ Home Depot online. Got a call shortly thereafter telling me that although their system shows they have 3 in stock, they can't find them and are cancelling my order. (No suggestion of 'but we do have xx item which is similar' or anything; they just cancelled it.) 2. Found a similar item online and ordered it. Paying extra for home delivery. Received my "order" - except it wasn't what I ordered. 3. Called the 800 number cited on my receipt. They transferred me to one of the local Home Depots... not the correct one. 4. Called the SW ABQ store where the item came from. They asked me to drive there to exchange it... I'd ordered a Portable Car Jump Starter because of a dead battery... so that was a 'no.' (And, hello, what is the point of paying extra for delivery if I have to drive there to get it anyway?!?) Was told I'd get a call back in a couple of hours as to how they were going to handle exchanging the item ordered for the item delivered. 5. Called the store 3 hours later as no one had called back. Was told they'd give the message to the person who had been helping me, if he hadn't left for the day. Was told by the person on the phone that they don't get involved in working on someone else's order; and that I would have to wait for that person to call me. WOW! Just WOW! UPDATE: I called the store back (26 hours after they said they were going to call me). This time, I worked with Loretta. I explained #4 and #5a above. She investigated. She located my item and arranged for someone to bring it. The exchange of items has occurred. Updating rating from 1 star to 3 stars. (Averaging of the 1 star for original issues and what would have been a 5 star for Loretta's assistance in resolving.) Thank you Loretta! read more

Love that this location has everything organized in a logical order unlike Lowes that makes you walk miles to get the commonly sold items you need. In addition, there is so many other nice businesses to shop at and eat during your visit to the area. Overall our experiences have always been awesome. Would not think of going anywhere else.
