Haven't shopped at Home Depot since moving to Albuquerque. Poor & unresponsive management at this specific store caused me to go elsewhere. HD was my go to for many years, but no more. I needed some small pieces for a project I needed to finish - since I pass this store on my drive home and my usual stop would be closed before I got there, I stopped. I pull into the lot and see 2 security company vehicles parked at both the east & west entry points facing each other with all of their lights on, flashing red, blue, & white lights, plus headlights and taillights, reverse lights and emergency flashers. Quite the light show. The bigger issue for me was all these lights and their irregular flashing brilliance could trigger a seizure in someone prone to seizures. The vehicles were unoccupied so I went into the store, found the security guys operating the vehicles and gave them this info. They responded that it's what HD mgmt wanted. Went back the next day and talked with an asst mgr about my concerns. He defended the decision because it was to help "prevent theft" I understand that. But are the other risks worth it? He said he'd talk to the gen mgr. Ok thx. I checked back about 10 days later - no change. Obviously belief these lights will deter theft (hint: it won't) is more important than protecting a customer who may be adversely affected - sad. This reminded me why I stopped doing business with HD in the first place.

This is from their web site. But just know they will throw every technicality they can to not honor it.

Home Depot's Price Match Policy is a scam and bait and switch in my opinion. I found bedroom furniture from a reputable online furniture retailer and asked for a price match. I spent over one hour on a virtual chat while the rep tried pushing every reason to NOT price match. Here are the (bogus) "reasons" you might hear to deny a Home Depot price match: 1. They will say the reviews of the comparable company are bad (I provided links from from Sitejabber and Trust Pilot--both had favorable reviews for the other company). 2. They will try to say companies are drop shipping from China (I sent proof this wasn't the case). 3. They will try to say that the competing store isn't a retailer (the one I was attempting to price match with has physical store locations which I pointed out). 4. They will say it's not the exact same set with the same sku (the comparable company offered the same brand and style in either a 2, 3, or more set...which was the technicality "leadership" finally used to deny a price match). I've been through the process twice in the past week over the same furniture set which is why I was more careful the second time through. I get the impression that the virtual chatters goal is to NOT honor the company's written policy. I don't know if there are incentives to do so, but they threw every excuse they could to not do a price match.

I was able to get what I came in for. But not a lot of selection options. Customer service was sub par. I didn't feel like I didn't appreciate it shopper.

They said they usually come up on Tuesdays and Fridays. They did a quick diagnosis at no charge, this was on a Friday. They purchased a timer on MONDAY, came back up late Tuesday and installed the timer, $370.00. Was glad to have refrigerator again so went to smiths and stocked up again. The fridge was nice and cold but after a cycle it stopped getting cold again. I called them in panic but they said they couldn't get back to me until the next week, so I lost another $150+ in food again. They said a cold controller this time needed to be replaced but couldn't get the part until the following Monday. I accidentally tapped the cold controller (the THERMOSTAT) while placing my water bottle onto the top shelf. The Fridge came back on. So they confirmed that it needed to be replaced. I kept tapping the Thermostat (what they were calling the "cold control" every 4hrs for about 5days to save my food. but because I had to sleep it shut off in the middle of the night and I lost much of my frozen food again (the third time). The following Monday they contacted me saying that the Thermostat was no longer available so the Fridge can't be repaired. Sorry Buddy you're out of luck. Try placing "Duct tape over the cold control.. , were they kidding? My son was surprised that SEARS PARTS wouldn't have a replacement part. My son contacted SEARS PARTS. They had the Thermostat. I texted ADAM from The Appliance Guys, Co. with the information on the part. They confirmed it, I ordered it, it arrived two days later on a Thursday which was lucky since they come to Los Alamos on Fridays. I let them know I had the part. They said they'd be here the next day late afternoon. The next day on Friday, they contacted me to say that they had a cancellation by another person in Santa Fe. So, IT WASANT WORTH IT TO THEM TO COME UP TO JUST REPAIR MY REFRIGERATOR. "Great customer service?? " really? As a customer I'm not worth it to them??? Maybe next week?? Meanwhile the Fridge stopped working again, lost more food. they never returned and would not respond to my texts/calls! Consequently, I had to wait another week for SEARS REPAIR TECH to come finish the job, more lost food and another $225.00. The SEARS Tech swapped out the "actual faulty part" with the one my son found from SEARS PARTS DIRECT. The Tech also found loose screws, and missed timer adjustments. Avoid these "Guys" at all costs. Just call SEARS or I've heard DNS repair is good. So, it's off to SMALL CLAIMS COURT we go! Unless I receive a refund and get all the costs of lost food back from Joe and Adam..., "The Appliance Guys". PS, I'm 75, don't need that type of bullshit! Oh yes "No Senior Discount offered" either!!

Of course it came with a 90 day warranty just expired, but I would have had to transport anyway and pay part of the bill. I cleaned it up and since this quality outfit didn't even replace the missing handle, I bought one. Since its "frost free" it shuts off and warms 20 degrees or so periodically, then restarts. Well 2 days ago it didnt re-start and got into the 30's so I moved the meats and valuables to another I had luckily and didnt lose anything. No trust now so had to buy another freezer, new with a real warranty. I saw there was a small dial next to the compressor and turned it clockwise, the compressor which had been off started and re-cooled to -20. OK, but now I wanted to know if I should keep/depend on it so I drove to CA and talked to the "tech". I explained what I just typed in a non confrontational way since I could have lost 100's in meat, and did have to re-purchase after less than 4 mo. This individual who even though I asked for nothing and kept it professional (initially) evidentially felt threatened by having a real human ask questions like what is this device (the defrost timer) and by turning it clockwise what did I do? Complete unhinged meltdown and fail to deal with a paying customer who trusted them with a sale. Take a chance like I did if you want, do not expect any professionalism once you take delivery, just hope for the best- who knows you may get lucky if the piece was not too far gone before they re-habbed it? they probably work with the city to take throw-aways when we put them out on the street, like I almost did! Read the reviews, they are now my experience as well. Not a serious group of people, even for the south valley. Too may real sellers in Albq.
