Customer service, when you find someone is terrible. We ordered mulch online to pick up and when we went to the customer service the lady at the desk was extremely rude. I mean, really when you work in customer service there is a set expectation of service. Luckily when we went to the garden center area the gentleman there was extremely nice and said he would be happy to help. I purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot Alvin, TX on 1/17/23. They delivered, but refused to install because the connection for the ice maker was not to their specification. They never took it off the truck. We cancelled the order. We had to go to the store twice to get a return authorized. They said they would SEND A REFUND CHECK IN 7 TO 10 DAYS. Our mistake was paying cash. It is 2/14/23 and still no check. DO NOT PAY CASH FOR APPLIANCES OVER 1,000. They refund credit immediately. They bold faced lied about the time it takes to get a refund check. The refund receipt said 21 days to get a check, which I will believe it when I actually get a check that will cash. It has been 27 days since the purchase. read more

This is not the Home Depot where I normally shop. However, I was helping a friend do clean up after Hurricane Harvey and had to come here several times over a couple of days for supplies. The employees were on top of things and very helpful during a very chaotic time. Personally, I'd like to recognize thee men in the lumber department: Bobby DeLoach, Chris (an outside loader) and Cruz (from Fort Worth) for their help during a difficult time. Trying to purchase a new refrigerator and check the delivery schedule but when I called (multiple times) I was transferred to the Appliances Dept and they never answered. The "Customer Service" rep Ellie cut me off when I asked for help and once again "transferred" me to the Appliance Dept. I then called and asked to speak to the store manager and was again transferred but their phone cut me off yet again! It just rings for several minutes and then hangs up on you. No help whatsoever! During the Hurricane Harvey aftermath, this particular store adopted some pretty asinine policies for no obvious reason other than to slow customers down: 1) blocking off 3 consecutive aisles because a forklift is working on the center aisle. If the PIT operator's skill is that poor then he doesn't need to be on the machine. After he was thru, none of the lost CSRs made and attempt to reopen the aisles. Customers reopened them after staring at a lack of action. Wouldn't have been a big deal if it were not the building material aisles with studs and sheets compromised. 2) block off the entire pick up lane so that only one vehicle at a time can get loaded. Prior to the storm. Four vehicles could load. Nope, it's unsafe to load more than one. 3) hired a security guard that isn't armed with anything but a poor understanding of the English language. 4) reduced the number of cashiers. 5) did absolutely nothing to improve the chaotic disorganization obviously apparent in the plumbing and hardware aisles. You can almost put a paycheck on the wrong parts being in the wrong place and the store not having what you really need. It's odd that the store functioned better when CSRs were down from the other stores in the state to help run the store immediately after the storm. read more

I was in a hurry to check out recently and only had a few small items. I had to park by the garden area, which was closed, so I decided to check out at "customer service," as when I arrived, I was the only one in line, and the self checkout is an extra football field further away from where I was parked. When one of the 3 attended stalls became open, I approached, and was sternly reprimanded by a little bitchy checkout teller telling me that I shouldn't have approached her register until I was invited by her highness. If there was a sign, I missed it through my glasses, which were a little foggy from my wearing a mask. She then "conferred" with another coworker for about 10-12 minutes (it looked to me like she was taking a break). Regrettably she still became the teller I was stuck with after the prolonged wait. She actually scolded me when I couldn't hear her address me, as the pathetic twit mumbled some directive to me through her mask while facing away from me AND while behind a plexiglass screen! Absolutely PITIFUL and unprofessional display on her part, and especially disappointing to me since I generally spend at least a few thousand dollars per year there and am so used to interacting with other Home Depot employees who have mutual respect. Hopefully Home Depot will deal with the matter appropriately and will perhaps reassign her to stocking fertilizer and/or lumber, or let her go. In the meantime, after right around 20 years of patronizing Home Depot in Alvin, TX, I'm considering checking out Lowe's in Pearland. I have the first name of this customer service girl who interacted very poorly with me recently on my receipt, but I am not going to include it here. The customer service at this store is some of the best I've seen. When our blinds came in some were the wrong size so the STORE MANAGER came out with his assistant manager to apologize and retrieve them. Very impressed with this kind of customer service that went above and beyond! read more

This Home Depot is very organized and their employees are so nice. Every time I go to the store, at least one person asks if I need any help. Their customer service is always amazing. I've even had someone find a ladder, climb up and get a part that was out below. But this time, I'd like to tell you about my experience getting a washer and dryer. I had trouble getting a washer & dryer with another company and told the appliance specialist (Lena) of the issues. She notified me of the current sales, set me up on her computer to look up reviews (since I prefer to do so before making a large purchase). I picked out the ones I wanted, she got everything set up in the computer and had delivery the NEXT DAY. Literally, less than 24 hours later, I had my washer and dryer delivered. I'm a very happy camper and can now wash all my clothes!! read more

I use to go in here several times a week. Always have been asked if I needed help. Always so helpful. Good place to pop into the garden center when theres a sale. Had to return a tree we bought last July, actually it was one of three. Sooo glad they have the 1 yr return with pics of receipt. The girl mentioned bc of the deep freeze we just had, so many returns, sigh. Suprised the other two lived as we lost well established plants even though they were protected. read more

Been there several times have never had good service, the workers avoid you. My parents are 60 years old and I am a 25 year old women, I lifted 20+ bags of the 80 pound quickcrete by myself since the employees didn't want to help (and several walked passed). We hired Home Depot in Alvin, Texas do to a tile job at our house. First, they were not able to follow instructions, second they did a poor quality job! I want to this Home Depot to buy a Toro zero turn lawn mower. They only had John Deere in stock but I was told the new inventory had come in and they were some more mowers in the back by the garden center. They did not have any new wars that I wanted but they had a return more that was the model that I was looking for. I purchased this mower , Being assured by the sales person that it is just like new and the warranty will be in full affect. I scheduled delivery for Saturday. When I took delivery of this more it was full of gas, which they are not supposed to be shipped with gas. The more would not start. It took me a half an hour to get it started, then it would not move. I called Home Depot immediately and told him the issues and asked what they could do about the price of the John Deere in front. The store manager apologized and offered me $200 off on the John Deere for my hassle. That is less than 2% of the retail price. The manager has the ability to reduce the price on an item up to 25% without much issue. I know this because I'm a contractor an spend a lot of time and money in Home Depot. I declined her offer and asked them to pick up the mower as soon as possible. When I told them there was gas in the tank and I did not want to add it into my other equipment because I did not know how old that Fuel was, they told me I would have to dispose of it myself. took them over two weeks and multiple phone calls to get them to remove this piece of junk from my yard. It also took me another two weeks and more called including an email to Home Depot headquarters to get reimbursed. Lot of apologies of how things happened but completely unwilling to do about it until I called headquarters. Horrible customer service, will never go there again read more

The Alvin Home Depot has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I needed assistance in the plumbing section and a salesperson said he thought the part was maybe on a certain aisle. He then proceeded to sit down on a ladder and make a personal phone call. I never found the part. I went to purchase a washer and dryer and could not find any associate in the appliance section. After 2 requests and an 18 minute wait, a person came who admitted he didn't have a clue what was in stock, etc. The last dealing was when I tried to exchange a damaged item. I was told it was in stock and would take 10 minutes at the most to get it done. After 25 minutes, the customer service person suggested I return the next day as the item was still on a pallet waiting to be unloaded. These 3 incidents have occurred within the past 3 months.
