We used Home Depot for our Kitchen Renovations. The end product looks great, BUT I would not use Home Depot again for a project this size. I still had to coordinate all the work between the cabinet installer, plumber, electrician, and stoneworks. My "project manager" answered no questions and was zero help (Brian and bloomington Home Depot). The billing is also very unclear. I thought i had paid in full but I kept getting charged for things I had paid for. The workers also had trouble working with home depot. Next time I will be contracting my own work using the plumber, tile person and electrician I had to find on my own. read more

Always super friendly staff whenever I come. I like how well organized the store is. I'm not super good with home improvement items. What I recommend if you're looking for something then use the Home Depot app to look up the item and it will tell you what aisle and what section the item you're looking for in. They have a great selection of items and you find some cool things all of the time. read more

I had a project where I needed to heighten the banister at the top of my stairs by 7inches to meet code. I went to many stores looking for a short railing to add some height but couldn't find anything just right. Store employee Kermit came to my rescue going above and beyond helping me find materials and the simplest way to get my project done. He was so patient and spent a lot of time helping me stay in budget and keeping the project simple enough for an amateur. I got a lot of great help in the paint department as well. A new low in customer service. After waiting on hold for eight minutes, it went to the survey that asked me how my experience was, and whether the agent solved my problem. This after nobody ever picked up the call! The other day, I placed an order and it had a shipping address that I do not control. I've previously tried to change saved shipping addresses on their web site, and there does not seem to be a way to delete them. So I immediately called, and was given the option of text. So I started a text. The agent basically said they could do nothing because the item had not yet shipped, and I would need to contact them when I received a confirmation of shipping. Which obviously is a ridiculous answer. read more

Home Depot sucks. Their service is horrendous and the store itself is kind of a mess. I avoid going there if at all possible. But recently my wife decided she wanted a small (1/2 gallon) shop vac to use as a super dust buster. They seemed to have one in stock according to the internet so we headed out. When we got there we found, after some effort, an employee who directed us to the correct area of the cavernous store. The person who worked in that section seemed totally uninterested in waiting on us and was completely ignorant of the products he was responsible for. They had no 1/2 gallon shop vacs but we could get one on line we were told. Since these vacs are pricey we wanted to actually hold one to see if it would be manageable in size and weight for my wife to use. They did have a two gallon version in stock in a box and we thought it might be suitable so we asked if it could be taken out of the box so we could examine it. The sales associate essentially refused because he said that customers might not buy it if the box had been opened. With that we left and after a little research we found what we wanted at Acme Tools which I highly recommend ( see my review). read more

I was moving to a new apartment after sale of my home in 2019. The sale fell through and I did not move. However, I had a painter, Juan Tapia, buy all the paint to paint my new apartment. When The house sale fell through I had him return the paint to HD I did not need it. Juan received a store credit in form of a HD card. I took that card from Juan and put it in my wallet. A month ago I found the card. Originally there was about $111 on the card. When I used the card to purchase some Philips lights at the HD store in St Louis Park #2806 about a month for two ago there was about $60 on thee card. I bought about $30 worth of Philips light bulbs. There was about $30 left on the card. On 01/30/2021 I returned to the same store to buy more lightbulbs. At this time I was told the card is NOT mine and I was declined to use my card! I bout the $29 of lights anyway using my credit card. Yesterday I was on my way to IKEA and I stoped by the HD store Bloomington #2805 close to IKEA to use up my $30 credit. I tried to get more then $30 to finish my credit. My receipt is attached. At the store that nice lady told me that there is NO money on my card. I knew very well, there was about $30 left. So I am not sure what happened, but HD used some magic to zero out my store credit, the same way Georgia clears it voter registers. They took my store card. I was shocked, I have asked to see the history of transactions on the card. I was told no such history exist. I have not question that!!! The idea that they do not have history of my usage of the card does not some plausible. This is not cash, how would they know how much I have left on the card. This is pure theft!! This is not OK. I am filing a complaint as at system level this might be a lot of money. $30 here and there across, some 2,296 stores is serious fraud. I want to applaud several of your employees from my experience today at the Bloomington MN Home Depot. 1) Three employees from lighting helped me choose a new LED kitchen ceiling light about 12:30 pm. I needed to know amount of lumens I needed & if a repair on my old fluorescent light could be done. Bravo!! 2) Moved on to ceiling fans & two men helped me get the correct size & model for my home. The first man spent about 10 minutes with me. Bravo! 3) Moved on then to flush mount ceiling fixtures & a woman helps me by giving info about your easy return policy if I chose the wrong fixture. I had the best service in a Home Depot or any similar type store thanks to the OUTSTANDING assistance, service, and help that I received about a week ago on a Thursday night. I felt like I got the VIP treatment, he helped take me to the location, drove the heavy flatbed for me, helped load it with HEAVY concrete blocks, quickly drove me back to checkout and told me if I pull my car up, he'll help me load it! I was shocked by his friendly, service with a smile, happy-to-help attitude. I hope he is soon a manager & trainer, because he single handedly created the best impression and experience I've had of Home Depot or any store in about 20 years. No, I'm not kidding. I always get my Christmas tree from Home Depot. This year I'm super disappointed. They didn't help tie it down to the car and we had no idea how to! Finally one of the employees working in the tree lot came to help but he said he didn't know how to do it. So he left the ties hanging from the windows and had us roll them up and told us to just drive slowly. We get home and set up our tree only to realize they didn't cut the bottom off so it sticks a foot out of the stand off the ground. read more

I'm spending too much money here :( This place has pretty much everything you could need/want if you're planning any DIY projects. I love that you can rent equipment. I also feel like most of the employees know a lot about home improvement and gardening. I haven't stumped them yet. If you're a teacher and need a classroom set of dry erase boards, come here and look in the bath section. They're not real dry erase boards, but they work the same way and they cut them for you for free if you explain what you're using them for and show them a school ID. You end up getting your classroom set of dry erase boards for about $1 each. I took away one star because they run out of their bottled water often at this location. read more

I know that Home Depots are the WalMarts of the home improvement world but, for some reason, I still love them. I was in the mood to paint both of our bathrooms this weekend and went to Home Depot first. Sure, the fact that everything is reasonably priced is a great thing but that's not what I like so much. What I love is how helpful everyone is, no matter your skill level. You just have to find the employee first and then you need to ask for help. I've never felt like this is the kind of place where they seek you out, you know? In the warmer months I go for the plants and gardening supplies. If I ever find that I randomly need something for around the house, they have it. When I figured out I could use a metal gutter cover as a "grill" for my Honda Element, Home Depot had one and it only cost $1.29. Next up, a ceiling fan and a bathroom light fixture. BTW, my bathrooms look awesome. I've learned this is what boredom and being homebound (thanks to a suddenly discovered, cancelled-in-1999 MN driver's license) will get me. read more

Home Depot is exactly what one would expect; a place to by "home stuff." I went here to visit their nursery. I was looking for flowers and other plants to fill the pot outside my house with. Unfortunately, their nursery offered nothing spectacular. Most of their flowers were either dead or about to die, their trees were beautiful (but way overpriced compared to other nurseries), and the employees had no idea when fresh plants were going to be delivered. I rated this at four stars, because the actual store is excellent. They always have everything I need and the employees are very helpful. If I was eating the nursery alone, it would have been a 2 star rating. read more

I just had an awful experience trying to order storm doors from this Home Depot. Over six weeks into the process with multiple mistakes, broken promises and shockingly bad customer service from Home Depot, I decided to cancel the order. The 15% discount they were offering and an install date another 3+ weeks out was not going to work for me. I was shocked to then find out that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee. I sure hope the $85 dollars made a difference to Home Depot's bottom line this month; it will be the last dollars they ever see from me. Go to Menards! After moving on from the disappointing service at Home Depot, I walked into Menards at 4:30 on a Friday and my door was professionally installed by 9:00am the next Monday. Better door for about the same price fully installed. Beats the two months Home Depot thought was acceptable (and "normal") service times. read more

Home Depot kitchen cabinets and counter tops. It must be Halloween as the witches are out. I was approached at Home Depot regarding an assessment of kitchen cabinets and counters. I signed up (20 minutes) and called in to confirm the appointment. I then spent 2.5 hrs moving things in the kitchen for their work of estimating and measuring . They did not show and I called to ask what happened. The phone worker at the 866-646-0656 number was terrifying..she began to screech " It's your fault..you never confirmed!!" The voice was something that simulated a witch voice in Supernatural and she repeatedly began to screech similar shaming accusations. You may be thinking...Great customer service but I told her I had confirmed and hung up. Then the cheesy manager called to say "Gosh I am sorry...you had confirmed." We will try this again and this time they will show ( gosh we not only can't confirm things but we also hire scary phone staff). Don't be fooled..this is not a service but a group of incapable people that you will be glad to not have hired No matter how much time you put into this, bail and don't look back. read more

Home Depot is a great place, the service here is amazing but it's just a bit on the pricey side for me, still a great place to go to though. It can get a bit hectic and if you're doing floor tiling (such as me) they won't have enough tiles for you as they have such an abysmal stock. Public needs to know that this store does NOT verify the credit card holder when making a purchase. I got a call from the fraud dept for my Visa debit card, someone was declined using the actual card! When I told them there is only one card in my possession they said that is why they were calling. The person who was trying to commit this crime was NOT asked for an ID! The store told me when I called to inquire about this that they never ask for an ID unless it is for a high dollar amount. Well, to me $445 is a high dollar amount! That debit card is like cash, that money is coming directly out of my checking account! Had the fraud dept not notified me of this declined charge I would never have known. I learned today that they did get away with over $1000 in charges deducted from my checking acct. Money the bank said will be refunded to me. Who pays for this? WE all do! Criminals are getting good at buying fraud credit cards on the "dark web". Please put pressure on Home Depot to ask for an ID on any purchase using a debit card! That money does not belong to the criminal. Home Depot needs to ensure the person making the purchase with a debit card is the actual person. read more

We have had two very awful experiences with this store. On one occasion, a sales rep high pressured us into a HE washer, which turned out to be a terrible model. When expressing our concerns, she promised we would have no trouble with the machine, but it has been a true lemon. However, the worst experience has come recently, when we tried to purchase cabinets. It has taken over two months just to purchase in stock cabinets. The in store team failed to return phone calls, never placed our order and was unresponsive to emails. Even though we got an assistant manager involved, we are still waiting for our cabinets--two months after we started the process. Lots of finger pointing, and no problem solving skills.
