Our favorite store by far! We love all of the products that Home Depot offers including the Ryobi line and their garden center. We have always had a wonderful time with customer service and getting help when needed. Anytime we've been in a pinch and needed to rent a vehicle, this location usually always had a vehicle available for pickup. Well if you are looking for air filters for your air conditioning vents they are on aisle 24. :) This store was like the average big box hardware store, but obviously they sell a ton of merchandise from paint, to nails and screws to appliances, kitchen cabinets and my favorite...area rugs Lol Nothing pulls a room together faster. :) The customer service was great, the cashier stated that she remembered me from a prior visit and remembered that I was a veteran, which was nice and attentive of her. She offered me the 10 percent off veterans discount (which can come in handy for larger purchases.) This store was very well maintained and I would definitely return to this location. read more

Home Depot is absolutely my favorite home improvement center. Our focus this time was on outdoor and vegetable gardening. It's that time of the year to spruce up our yards and start our garden going. The Home Depot gardening center is amazing. Not only can you find gardening tools, plants, decorations, and products, you all find support, books, and online friendly garden associates to assist. Home depot has a wonderful and Huge selection on indoor and outdoor plants and planters. This year we have chosen to grow the fragrant and colorful Burpee Sweet Peas around our beloved Sycamore tree "Grover". In addition, We are growing Tomatoes (from plants) on left over trellis pots from last year, Cucumbers & Jalapenos ( Burpee seeds) in above ground garden beds, and Strawberries (plants)& Cucumbers in pallets. I'm am also considering a herb garden in a little patch of dirt my husband worked up for me behind the house. I am so excited at being able to find everything we needed for our projects at the Home Depot, it's one stop shopping at it's best. Now if they only sold groceries, you would never get me out of there. LOL. We have tried other home improvement stores Garden Shops but the plants from there didn't last long. We tried growing Lemongrass, petunias, and English lavender but as soon as we planted them in the ground, they all died. Also, most name brand products can easily be found at the home depot but not at other places. I will update my review at the end of the summer when our projects are in full bloom. read more

On Black Friday I attempted to purchase a RYOBI tool deal. But unfortunately the product I wanted was already out of stock first thing in the morning. An employee was very apologetic about the lack of products. He also was encouraging many shoppers to order through the website and still take advantage of the discount. So I did. It was to be delivered today. I received a text and email stating that it was delivered. I went to the front door, no package. Finished supper and checked again. No package. So I called Home Depot. I was on hold for a long while. Finally got through and told the representative that I didn't receive my delivery. I was placed on hold and when she returned she let me know that I would have to work through the carrier, FedEx. I told her I felt this wasn't right. I ordered a product from the Home Depot. I didn't get it. That's Home Depot's responsibility. I should not have to track down my own order. I'm very dissatisfied. This is unacceptable read more

Home Depot isn't my first stop for hardware store due to it's location however they do have the odd and end hardware items that you can't find at some of the other hardware stores. Their prices are comparable to some of the other local hardware stores. Their staff on the shop floor always seems happy to help but there doesn't seem to be too many of them on the floor so you might have to look for one if you need help. One of my biggest complaints is that the building seems dark and poorly lit. read more

I was in the market for a Dewalt 20v mower. I saw the one I wanted on the Home Depot app, and that there was one in stock in West Ashley. I placed an online order for in store pickup same day, and added the protection plan. I was told I'd receive an email when my order was ready. Two hours later, I received an email saying my mower order was cancelled and no explanation was given. I assumed it was because it was out of stock, but who knows? The employees at West Ashley didn't bother to let me know. I also got an email to let me know my extended warranty, on the item which I am NOT purchasing anymore, is in the mail. Turns out they only refunded the cost of the mower when they cancelled the order. I immediately called Home Depot customer service and was sent to a texting service, where I can text back and forth with questions about my order. The person I texted said it was out of stock at the West Ashley store, and cancelled the rest of the order as well. They then proceeded to tell me that it was in stock at another store about 45 minutes away in North Charleston. I confirmed by going to the website to make sure. The website says that the North Charleston store has 4 in stock...FOUR! He proceeded to create another order for pickup from the new store, and said it would be ready in 2 hours. I told him that wasn't acceptable. I shouldn't have to wait 2 hours because Home Depot employees don't know how to do inventory correctly. He said he would contact the store and put a rush on it. I thanked him and told him I was on my way to the store. When I arrived 45 minutes later, I was told by that store that they don't even carry that item anymore. They don't have it, never will, and proceeded to cancel my order. I get home another 45 minutes later, and see an email that the mower order was cancelled...but again, the warranty is on the way! HaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!!! Seriously, what a joke! I called customer service and the last person I talked to was very helpful and cancelled everything. Funny thing is...I'd given up on Home Depot years ago, because of the lack of customer service in store. I just started going across the street to Lowes. Plus, I'm a veteran, and the military discount was easier to use at Lowes. Since it had been a while, and this was a simple one item curbside pickup, I thought I'd give Home Depot another try. Usually I like Home Depot and they usually have great customer service, but after my visit yesterday I'm probably just going to go to Lowe's or shop local for my hardware needs. We had a brand new in the box $40 light fixture that we wanted to return to Home Depot and everything was normal and going fine at customer service until they scanned my license and the return was declined since I did not have a receipt. Home Depot didn't make this decision, but a 3rd party company called Retail Equations denied my return. The reason is I no longer had the receipt for the item. I would at least expect store credit for it. Now I had a light fixture that won't fit and has never been removed from it's box that I'll have to try to recoup 1/2 of my money for online because of this 3rd party company that makes decisions for Home Depot. Even the manager at Home Depot said they had no control over it. read more

I'm basing this review solely on my most recent visit. I stopped in because I needed water filters from my refrigerator & Home Depot seems to be the only place that carries that kind I need. This location isn't the most updated or cleanest store I've ever seen, but this visit changed my perception. The employees were SO friendly! While looking at that filters, an employee was cleaning up & asked if I needed help. I didn't, but she said that if I didn't find what I was looking for, there was another aisle that had more filters. On my way over there, another employee from a different department smiled & said hello. Walking toward the registers, an employee walking by stopped to see if we needed help finding anything. Then at the register, the woman checking us out was super friendly & even complimented my hair. It can get annoying when employees bug you all the time about helping you when you don't want help, but these employees weren't overbearing, just really nice. Bravo, Home Depot! read more

I have to say, I am normally a Lowes shopper because we don't like the Home Depot in Summerville much. People aren't super helpful there and definitely not friendly. I was hesitant to go to this Home Depot but it's the only place that had something we needed and it was on our way home from downtown. So we stopped. EVERYONE was so super nice and helpful! I wish it wasn't so far away. The people we encountered from a gentleman stocking who knew right away where what we were looking for was, to the people at the self check out. There were like 3 people at the self check out and 2 that were at the other counter that all were so very friendly. That has changed how I feel about Home Depot. So, after someone at Home Depot read this review, my issue was sent to their customer service escalation department. After further investigation, they checked the weight of the package that they shipped and realized the weight was too low to include all of the merchandise that I had ordered. A customer service escalation person called me and my issue has been resolved. The customer service escalation person was great. I just wish that this issue could have been resolved during my initial attempts (hence 4 stars instead of 5 stars). However, I am very happy with the resolution. This is a good example of why it never hurts to keep trying! read more

This was the worst retail experience I can remember. I'm not exaggerating - the customer service here was unbelievably bad. I asked four associates for help and none did. This after being hung up on and placed on hold for 10 minutes. - Contrary to what my google stamp says, I live in North Charleston. - I reluctantly gave two stars for the one associate who helped me find the section I was looking for, but then she abandoned me to go back to her conversation. Three other associates were ON THE AISLE with me and when I asked for help they gave non-committal responses but no actual help. The other associate responded with "that's why I research things before I go to a store", and continued stocking. I thought but did not say '{Expletive deleted, but deserved}, I did research it, but your website sucks too'. Also {repeat expletive} I tried to call the store twice and was hung up on, and then placed on perpetual hold. As a side note, never buy Glacier Bay products. This is a Home Depot brand. It's poorly built and they don't bother carrying replacement parts for it. read more

The Home Depot on Northwoods Boulevard in North Charleston is a great place to stop for all of your home supply and project needs. The location directly off of Interstate 26 is very convenient and easy to get to from just about anywhere in the Charleston area. This store is very well run and managed and always seems to have what I need in stock. The staff here is collectively very knowledgeable and can answer just about any question you have right on the spot.They are also very efficient on the checkout process and being able to purchase all of my items. I have always had a positive experience here and have been able to find what I needed to complete my project and be on my way. This Home Depot is one of the best. read more

Home Depot is a great place to look when maintaining or updating your home. I used them to remove a sliding door and install French doors. Love the new look. Home Depot arranged the initial inspection, the installer, insured the work (Which was the main reason we used them), and supplied the materials. Peace if mind made this worthwhile for me as this is our biggest improvement to date. Give them a 5 as all went smooth and they always have what I am looking for. read more

As a avid Home Depot shopper for over 30 years I am somewhat dissapointed with this location. In comparison to the HD in my last city this one seems smaller and disorganized. Not a fan of their layout but I suppose in time I will get used to it. The store is not well kept and can be somewhat chaotic during busy times. Getting someone to assist you at this location can be challenging. If you are not overly proactive you will not get the help you need. One thing that brings me in to HD is their prices. I do feel that HD does have better prices on most home repair items than Lowe's. With Appliances deals can be had at both HD and Lowe's. I hope one day HD builds a location in Mount Pleasant so I can have a choice when needing items for my Honey-Do projects. Because of how far this HD is to my house I only come here when I can't get what I need from my nearby Lowe's. read more

I'm an independent contractor. I own my own truck and needed to rent a Penske for a shuttle. I left my truck at the agent and walked a mile and a half to this Home Depot. I arrived at the entrance at 6:00 AM and the doors were locked. Home Depot workers were filing in for their opening shift. They finally opened the doors at 6:07 and it still took them 10 more minutes to get the system up to rent the truck to me. Went for a Xmas tree on Xmas eve due to just moving here, and they said the only trees they had were in the store when we had just seen about 20 outside! Then as we were walking into the store , my toddler almost got stuck by a hypodermic needle in the parking lot! I don't even want to rate this a star because when renting a penske truck they force you to automatically rent the truck for 5 day ( not for a day or two) when taking it out of the state. It's pretty maddening because they just take your money . I will never recommend this place to anyone due to them forcing you into renting for 5 with no REFUND at all . I went from pa to down south and only had the truck for a day and a half and returned it well before 5 days. They basically got free money from me from my short trip. DO NOT GO THOUGH THEM ! I'm usually a Lowes girl, but my Mom has a rental property here in Mt. Pleasant and needed to get some new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and found some she liked on Home Depot's website. After checking online and making sure they had stock of the cabinets she was interested in, we drove to Home Depot to look at them in person. Turns out, they don't have them in stock. So we looked at some other ones they had on display and found another contender. Nope, none is stock. So we left empty-handed. And I'll say apparently this problem (online stock not matching what they have in-store) seems to be an issue at other Home Depots since the exact same thing happened to her in Atlanta before she made the trip here. An employee even told her they are notorious for this happening. Moral of the story: call the store and get them to confirm before driving out. read more

Free wifi lets me check in on Yelp! and check stock of items I'm shopping for. Cool! It is located on a busy street (Mall Drive), so take care exiting. I would give zero stars if I could. Literally the WORST homedepot I've ever been to in my entire life. Waited 30 minutes for someone to help us get lumber down and they never came. Finally walked out and on the way out I told them no need for the help in lumber anymore. They weren't even apologetic, they just said "it takes some time to get the machine". I did a glowing review for this Home Depot back in 2013, I don't know what's happened but they've become a bit like Lowe's across the street in terms of a customer trying to get assistance. I went here yesterday to purchase a washing machine I saw online. There was noone to be found. Another couple was standing over some washers talking. I don't know where any employees were. I looked at all the washers and decided to go home and purchase online, which was an easy experience and confirm a question with the live chat feature online. I needed a washer before the Thanksgiving holidays and Home Depot had the earliest delivery date and Free Delivery & installation. The washer was also on sale, so while I can't rate the in store experience high, I was able to get what I needed via online shopping with this store. I guess that's the modern way now. It seems in the past there were always Home Depot people that greeted you and handed you a sale flyer, and associates that walked the aisle and asked if you needed help and walked you to what you needed, even gave tips on diy projects... At first my trips to this store were a bit awkward and it seemed like the staff was not really helpful, but in the last year and a half, I have had nothing but good visits. Everyone I have come across was eager to help me with any questions or assistance locating items. I really thinks there needs to be more than one person available for the paint section . I stood on a aisle near an associate for about 8 minutes waiting for her to finish with another customer. She never acknowledged me. I went to the customer service desk to ask if someone else could help. She couldn't materialize anyone. The associate finally finished talking to the customer I walked over he opinion to a color. She didn't try to take me to the samples and find a close shade to the picture I showed. It's always a great place to go and get the stuff you need, but the service is extremely slow at the customer counter. So if you plan to rent a Penske truck from them, it'll take half an hour to get it and half an hour to return it. Friendly people, but they just don't move with a purpose it seems. read more
