I would still recommend Home Depot sales associates as they were extremely helpful and kind. Sadly the same cannot be said of Customer Service Representative, Kelly and manager, Victoria. When our contractor went to pick up an order today, it had been cancelled with no notification to me. The store had previously called and I told them the contractor was behind and I wasn't sure when he would pick it up, probably the next 2 weeks. They said that was fine. Victoria, store manager, stated they always called to cancel and went by a script. They never notified me. Just to check I reviewed phone calls and messages, there was nothing. I was told I could come to the store or reorder on line. Kelly and Victoria were absolutely no help and wasted my time (30 minutes on phone to be able to speak to anyone) and my contractor's time. This location maintains their garden area nicely. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. They have great pricing on the plants versus other locations. There are very few missing items from the shelves in the gardening area. If you are looking for indoor or outdoor plants, definitely check this spot out. read more

I was about to give up hope that I would ever find the one little thing that would help me finish my restoration project. Brasso. I went to that "other place"... two different locations... and no one had a clue what I was talking about... much less... where it was located!!! They kept on directing me to different people who couldn't find it either. I was pretty agitated and left without getting the other stuff on my list. So...I came here. Within 5 minutes of me walking in this store... I was greeted by a very pleasant, professional, and efficient gentleman by the name of Kelly. He asked me if I needed any help... he took me straight to what I needed and at the price I liked. Then I decided to take the chance and asked if they carried Brasso.?. Not only did he know what I was talking about... he knew exactly what it looked like , where it was, and handed it to me within 3 minutes!!! If there was a way to do an even higher rating I would! I had to get a truck rental today and the guy who helped me, Nate was amazing. Very professional, helpful and all around just gave me a great experience. There was an issue with the rental contract and he handled it swiftly and made sure I knew what was going on due to the wait for the actual Penske rep on the phone. When I also asked how to set the trailer up onto the truck, he took me out there, have very clear verbal instructions to help guide me in the correct way and even gave me some tips! First time experience with all of this so it was extremely helpful and soothed my nerves about driving with a trailer. I just moved to SC 2 weeks ago and this place has been so nice to visit for all of my needs. It is the smallest Home Depot store I have ever seen, but it still has a lot (haven't walked out of there empty-handed yet!). The staff are kind and super helpful. I thought maybe they got over-excited about spring since christmas season is over because I had trouble finding firewood for the fireplace. Someone showed me it's in the outdoor/gardening area and not indoors where the grill stuff is. I may have laughed at the fact they have grilling stuff out already in January, but to each their own :). No complaints here, I got help when I needed it and found exactly the things I needed. An extra perk: they aren't slam packed and crazy busy like the Home Depot in downtown Atlanta where I am from. I can never turn down a peaceful store! This place is awesome :). read more

2 bad apples spoil the bunch. For the most part the staff is friendly-- If they're not knowledgeable-- They're at least friendly. Don't get me wrong a few of the older more knowledgeable employees are awesome, I could follow those guys around the store all day just asking them questions probably get pretty annoying too. Some of the younger guys are pretty quick to help and they lean on their contemporaries if they don't know an answer. Oddly enough the 2 places where I Received the worst customer service was in "customer service" and in the form of a short and discriminatory LP woman. I was attempting to return a ryobi saw I had purchased a couple of months earlier but didn't have the receipt--well I had the receipt but it's on thermal paper which means as soon as you put it in your pocket the black disappears. I was yelled at and hung up on twice by a girl that had informed me during my second call that she was in charge of customer service. When I walked in the store still on the phone the 3rd time I saw her running her mouth trying to get the employees to laugh I guess . . Not funny. As far as the LP woman, she accosted me once because I guess she thought I had pocketed something. She wouldn't say and just said she was going to call the cops and I was banned. She had apparently been following me and noticed that I was on my phone and carrying items to one strategic location--by thr clearance lumber. She approached me and asked why I didn't have a cart. I was a little slow to realize her implications until I saw her carrying like 5 things I was deciding on purchasing. I said G thanks I guess I don't need a shopping cart if you're gonna follow me around with my stuff. She didn't find this humorous or not as much as I did. She already had her mind made up that I had done something which was not the case. The only thing I can think of is that she saw my bright yellow lighter that I had slid in my pocket because it was falling out earlier and assumed that it was yellow and dewalt. As far as I know dewalt does not make a lighter and if they do it is not sold at home depot. She however kept driving home the point that I was a thief. She asked about the shopping cart again and I said well if you were following me did you notice that I was just in the checkout line 20 minutes earlier with my fiance and her cart? I got no response but another threat of calling the cops. At this point I said go ahead call them. The worst part about this is that my fiance had just spent probably 250 to $300 right then And she didn't bother to pay attention to that part. But now that she thought she had her criminal she followed me all around the d*** store. To the point where it was really pretty much harassment. The cops never came and eventually I just got annoyed and left. I thought this was a one time thing and maybe she was just an experiencing some trouble at home or maybe it was her time Of the month or something-- I was wrong. I came back into the store maybe a week later to try to grab a few items that I had seen on clearance and hope they're still there. She snuck up on me whispered something make me jump a little . . . I'm just gonna be honest and say if it was a dude that did this he might would have gotten popped. She keeps accusing me of stuff with no evidence or at least nothing she's gonna show me. I think it irritates her that now I laugh when she starts accusations. But she is becoming Quite a nuisance to me. I decided to switch my home depot location to another one. I decided to go to HD because we don't have one in Sumter. I was actually confused where the one on Two Notch was. For some dumb reason Lowes was the place where I thought it was, but anyway thank heaven for Google Map. No problem with finding a space, plenty here. Once I came inside loads of people asking if I needed help finding what I was looking for, but since I was just wondering around deciding what to get and seeing what the store looked like I told them no every time. Finally decided that I wanted some plywood cut. Again several people to help me with the finding and cutting of the plywood I wanted. Plenty of selection of what I was thinking would work. Next I went looking for some peal and stick flooring, found it and then headed to check out. Flooring would not ring up so I left it for another time. All around very good experience and I will be back again. read more

Order the Milwaukee M18 fuel drywall kit with the M18 fuel surge impact. Instead they sent me the drywall kit with a Gen 2 m18 fuel impact kit number 2896-22ct. When I brought this to the attention of the store they told me I'd have to send it back that it was an online problem. Unfortunately for me I needed the drywall portion of the kit for work Monday and the earliest it would arrive would be that Wednesday. So now I'm stuck with an impact I don't need and would have to spend $149 to get the one I was suppose to get. The online rep and the store personnel I interacted with seem unsympathetic and got nothing accomplished. I shop this store 2-3 times a week as I'm a general contractor. I like that fact that associates at this store ask if you need assistance with anything. The staff are friendly and act as if they actually enjoy this kind of work. That's the key; if you don't enjoy customer service, then stay away from this line of work. Management has done a good job staffing the store with people who enjoy customer service. My husband and I have always shopped at Lowes for our home improvement projects, but he decided he wanted to try Home Depot for installing Gutters on our home, BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! We called Home Depot who sent a man out who took pictures and measurments of our home. He stated that someone would contact us within a week, we paid a $400.00 deposit and he left. After 2 weeks and hearing nothing, I called inquiring when they would start the installation, at first I was told they had no record of us, after about 15 mins on hold a man came on line and stated our deposit didnt go through. I stated that had to be a mistake and to please check again. He said he did not have to check again he saw it on the computer, I told him I was putting us on 3 way with our bank. Our bank told him we had more than enough funds, and they had put it thru incorrectly and for them to put my check through again. 2 days later my bank called and said Home Depot was trying to debit my account for $1500.00. I called Home Depot and said what is going on! I was told that was the balance owed, I said no it was not and that they were only supposed to be putting through the $400.00 deposit. After another 3 way call with our bank, and 20 minutes on the phone our bank walked Home Depot through how to collect their $400.00 deposit. I should have walked away from Home Depot then, but we decided to give them another chance. BIG MISTAKE!!! A week went by, never heard from them, once again I called and spoke with a lady named Latoya at Home Depot, she checked and said they had set us up with a company called Charleston Exteriors to install the gutters and they would be calling to set up an appointment. The company called later that day and said they would be out the next day at 9 am to install. I took off work and they were a no show! Called Latoya back and she said she would check into it, well a man from Charleston Exteriors called me and said his daughter had a thing at school and wasnt able to come, I told him he should have called me and let me know, he promised to be out the next day. 10 minutes later Latoya called and said that it would be a few more days because the gutters had not even come in yet. I was so mad, Told Latoya they needed to find someone else to install them. Latoya had a supervisor for SC call me, and we told him how upset we were, and that we we were gonna have someone else install the gutters. He kept promising things would get better and said he would even take half the price off for our troubles, we said ok. They sent another company a few days later. They arrived and asked us where we wanted them installed, my husband and I looked at each other confused. We asked about the pictures and measurments that were taken from the beginning, he stated no one ever gave him anything, just told him to come install. We showed him where we wanted them. About hour and half later the supervisor came and told us that Home Depot had not sent enough gutters , and that he had a white piece that he was gonna paint to try and match the red we had picked out for our gutters, We said are you nuts!!! , he said well they also sent brown end caps and not red. We started looking and well the piece on the back of the house was about 3 feet to short, we had brown end caps, and some of the drain piped were about 8 inches from the ground. Guess what he also told us that they had never installed gutters before, that his crew were roofers!!!!!!! needless to say we were beyond mad at this time. We called Home Depot, Latoya sent us to a woman named Kelli Hayes, who sent us to a man named Tim McCoy, so now we have 4 to 5 people out of the Charlotte office involved. No one helped, we have many emails, phone calls and other records showing the run around they were putting us through. This nightmare has been going on for over a year. we kept getting phone calls wanting the balance they said we owed them. I kept emailing Kelli Hayes regarding this, she had other people email or text me promising to get it fixed. Tim McCoy called and said he would write off the balance, Kelli emailed me a release form, which was signed and faxed back to Kelli Hayes. I thought finally this nightmare is over, NOPE, 3 weeks ago I received a letter from a collection agency!! I emailed the Ceo Craig Menear numerous times, along with Customer Care, and other CEO's listed on their web site. No response. There have been many videos and reports about how customer oriented they are, and Mr. Menear stated he loved his customers, and would always be there for them, well thats a crock!! So as it stands, we have gutters that are to short, drain pipes that dont go all the way to the ground, wrong end caps, and rotten facial boards where the gutters were installed wrong, Im now getting threatening phone calls and letters from a collection agency. I have an ulcer from this nightmare, I will NEVER go into a home Depot again!!!! They are idiots!!!!! read more

AMAZING customer service. I've come in a few times and spoken to Jesse and he has given me tips and ideas for a few of my projects. Today was no different. I'd been having some issues with my table. I showed him pictures of what I was working with and he suggested just bringing in so he had a better idea of what to suggest to me. I ended up doing just that and he went above and beyond my expectations. Rather than just looking at my table and giving me equipment that could potentially fix my table... instead, he sat in hardware and put it together himself. He showed me what he was doing and gave me ideas on moving forward with my table. Not only was he outstanding to me, he remained personable and helpful to other customers walking through!
