The random collection of goods, including artwork, was interesting to peruse through. I don't know that I saw anything was particularly a good deal in terms of price, but to be honest I was merely window shopping and didn't really have plans to purchase anything. However, I did see a few things that I liked and probably would have considered a purchase if I were actually seeking to decorate. Other than that, the smell of fresh popped popcorn filled the area near the entrance so its probably not a good idea to go in this store hungry.

Before leaving, I called at 9:00 a.m. to let the store know I was on my way to pick up my order. When I arrived around 10:40 a.m., the experience immediately went downhill. I stood at the customer service desk while three employees were present, yet no one acknowledged me or asked if I needed assistance. Everyone appeared frustrated and completely uninterested in helping customers. After waiting, I finally got someone to assist me. Unfortunately, it only got worse. By the time my order was being loaded around 11:15 a.m., the two employees handling the pickup were rude, short, and abrasive. There was no greeting, no communication, and no appreciation for the fact that I was picking up a significant order. I work in Greenville and rarely shop the Columbia location, and this experience reminded me why. The difference in customer service between the two stores is night and day. Greenville has consistently been professional, friendly, and helpful. Columbia, on the other hand, made what should have been a simple pickup stressful and frustrating. When customers spend thousands of dollars and plan their day around picking up materials, they deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the Columbia location. If you have the option, I would strongly suggest driving to the Greenville store instead.

Place has saved my behind so many times. They will sit there for hours and explain every step of the process to you. Leveling, pouring a foundation, framing, getting plumbing and electrical hooked up, etc. Jesus, I wouldn't be surprised if they come out to the jobsite for you and start barking at the contractors screwing it up. They do all this because they got the Ace Hardware heart. It might be a bit pricier here than Home Depot or, God forbid, Lowe's (DO NOT GO TO LOWE'S! they got worse than service than popeyes chicken), but the helpful hardware folks who work here are worth the extra penny. Sometimes I feel like pulling out a crisp 20 or benjamin and giving it to these guys because they are so awesome. I been to every section and talked to all the regular faces who work here.
