Placed custom order for front door with sidelight. Month later a delivery guy in a box truck is going to attempt to move this huge box crate that happens to be broken, to a 2 foot depth lowering platorm. No dolly...anyone could see it was going to end in disaster, he agreed. So he said he would reschedule with help. Home depot called me, said they would uncrate and redeliver. Next day, same guy comes with 2 other guys. One guy sat in cab of truck, offering no help. Teo guys carried door off truck and my trim which was wrapped separately. Trim is scratched up, hickory brown color scratched off and also hole punched in it. Door itself, hickory brown color scratched off about foot from bottom right of door. I called Home depit, had pictures to send them...they agreed about replacing the trim but in regard to my $3000 door, they had to supposedly talk to vendor about any reimbursement. Then when I called back a week later, oh, waiting to hear back from manager. He said he sent his manager an email. I called back week later, oh, both are on vacation. Waited until back from vacation, no one called me. So I called again to speak w dept manager, John, he said he would talk to his manager and call me this past Saturday...no phone call. I even told him I felt like I was getting the run around...oh no, he wouldn't do that....hmmm. I didn't want to order a new door, it would take a couple months to get it. They are hoping the trim will cover it but still, 3 weeks later, going on4 wks, no new trim received....no follow up phones calls. This is the worst customer care I have ever dealt with and never thought Home Depot would be like this. Extremely disappointed, disgusted. $3000 for a door is a lit. Not to mention a week prior U had received another door, $1000, for our out garage entrance, foot threshold deep scratches. Hickory color that they attempted to cover up with a different brown colored paint, not matching....so bad. Bottom line, I suggedt not buying external doors from Home Depot in Columbia, MO read more

We're more than likely, probably will never go to this location again don't go to this Home Depot. They've been nothing but horrible since we tried to buy our washer and dryer and they are not Clear about rentals The Home Depot's in the city will allow you to tow things. I've been here a few times in June and July while fixing up a house in Fayette, MO. The staff is ok, but not overly friendly. I'd say they are not a happy bunch, so maybe the management is not very good to them. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard Home Depot that is right off the highway, so easy to get to. I've bought several major purchases and what I don't understand Home Depot is you have cut your Military Discount down to a maximum allowance of 400.00 per year but yet I can't use it whenever I'd like 400.00 certainly isn't going to bankrupt your store. Wonder what the military would have told me if I told them I wanted to quit after I made 400.00. I recently went to home depot the purchase number.. I have a military discount and I tried to use it. They told me they would not honor it for lumber. I realize Times are tough come up but they are tough for everyone. If they cannot stand behind their word of giving a 10% discount I recommend that no veteran use them. Great Hone Depot to shop at if you know what you need and where it is located in the store. Most of the employees seem to be in the checkout areas - 2 in customer service, 1 in self checkout, 2-3 cashiers in regular checkout along 1-2 in contractor checkout. No one to help you find items in the store. Once you find your stuff it is breeze to checkout. Westlakes Ace Hardware while higher has more help out in the store and registers. read more

Check out Lowe's or Menard's! I went to Home Depot Saturday night on a drywall run. As it turned out I was not going to fit my materials nor my groceries in my van to get them all home. The sales associates suggested I rent a truck. $20 they said. $20. Now why would I not rent a truck for that? I would spend more on 2 or 3 trips back and forth to town to pick it up in batches. The $20 rental is for 75 minutes. I was due back at 8:38 pm. I was late. I returned at 9:12 pm. The store was closed and thee employees inside were not coming to the door (understandable). I then realized I had locked my keys inside my car. While trying to access my keys the employees filed out of the building. I greeted them and noted I had returned the truck. They were unconcerned; with that and my plight. All 3 male employees left me, a female, alone in a dark, abandoned parking lot. The next morning I was at the store at 8:05 am when they opened to return the keys, expecting a late charge or mayve even to be charged the 4 hour delivery charge. Nope. I was charged for a full 24 hours even though it was only 8 o'clock in the morning. My $20 truck to haul home $170 worth of drywall cost me $140. I will NEVER DARKEN THEIR DOORWAY AGAIN! I have always known their customer service is lacking but I have never experienced such blatant mean-spirited-ness. It's as if these people have never even heard of common decency. I could have chosen Lowe's or Menard's and had the product delivered to me for over $100 LESS than what these scruffs charged me. If I have any recommendation it would be to GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! read more

I just went to this store with my parents. They are building a house and worked with John in the kitchen design department for cabinets for the kitchen. They already drug me to DKB and they had a custom guy come out to the house but they didn't like their ideas. I could tell they were very happy with what John came up with. Super nice guy. We ordered a dishwasher from Home Depot in Columbia, Mo and it was a 2 week wait for delivery. Great! Not a big deal. We can do dishes by hand. Our delivery was right on time, the guys who delivered the dishwasher were awesome! My husband opens the dishwasher, he is ready to install it, and realizes that the dishwasher has a piece that is broken inside of it. Not only that the dishwasher had water in it!! Why? We ordered a "new" dishwasher. Why is there a piece that is broken and why is there water in it? My husband called to have the dishwasher replaced and was never able to get through. He had to go to the store and speak with the manager. George the manager was rude, and when my husband asked for him to make it right like give us money off or a free install he was rude and said "well you didn't pay for it". Yes George you are correct. We didn't pay for it. We actually paid for a dishwasher that wasn't broken and wasn't already used. You would think the manager would make this right. Now we have to wait another week to have the dishwasher delivered, take time off work to make sure one of us are here, and make the poor delivery guys wait while we open the dishwasher and inspect it to make sure it's good. If I was the one who went to Home Depot I would have immediately asked for a full refund and taken my business to Lowe's. I'm so disappointed in their product AND the customer service. After I get my dishwasher from Home Depot, I will no longer spend my hard earned money there. Especially when they don't care enough to make a bad experience right. read more

Purchased a new refrigerator. Ordered on 9/7, delivered on 9/12. Within a week, it was not cooling properly. Home Depot referred issue to a local appliance repair shop. Replacement part was ordered from Whirlpool. Today is 10/18 and our refrigerator is still not working. Terrible support on a new appliance purchase. Everyone's been to a Home Depot and knows what they're about, so I'm not going to go into it as it's a pretty standard Home Depot. The reason I wanted to review it is because it's the first HD I've been to where the employees were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Every other one I've been to I've had to search for an employee, and then when I found one they never knew anything about my question. But here, there were plenty of employees and every one of them asked if I needed help. When I did, they took the time to answer all my questions (knowledgeably) or show me to the place I needed to go. I was just really impressed to I wanted to acknowledge that awesome customer service! I purchased about 400 feet of Master Mark Terrace Board from Home depot and could only get it online. the material worked ok but i didn't take in the fact that it expands in the heat and doesn't hold its shape. also my chickens keep scratching inside of the circles and the material moves, comes out of the ground, and doesn't stand up. it was a good idea that didn't work. your best bet is to buy the locking stones which fit together and don't move or expand. read more

I drove from Sedalia to Columbia to get a bathtub. Sedalia's lowes, menards nor sutherlands had what I wanted. The associates were great and polite and opened box to make sure tub was not dented or scratched. Outstanding service !! read more
