Pedro is the man to see. He greeted me with a smile and asked how he could help. Pedro found the right size Phillips head screwdriver, helped with the stripped tiny screw, and found the right size battery replacements. Pedro then offered to help me find the items on my list. Which, by the way, were in different locations- isles, row, and shelves. Pedro had so much patience with me as we checked the items off my list. Prices are good. Value for products great. I needed help at the self checkout line with some items and the person I asked for help said "good morning". I did not return the comment as I am the customer and was not having a good morning myself. I asked for her help and before she took care of my issue she said it again as if she expected me to return the gesture. I am not at a Home Depot to exchange pleasantries with anybody. I am wondering why even have an actual storefront. No help when you need it. When you need wood cut down to size, all of the workers scurry like rats from a burning ship. It's the only place I have been where all customers turn red and look extremely frustrated. I don't know how many times I have seen people lose their tempers in this store. Used to love this Home Depot until I found out they are knowingly selling roses that are infected with incurable Rose Rosette Virus. Talked with the manager and apparently, it's "within company policy" to still sell these plants even though they know they will prematurely die and also infect other roses. Absolutely outrageous and totally immoral, don't care about the health of the plants, they just want to make a quick buck. Note: I'm a professional landscaper. It's unacceptable to sell infected plant material, and downright dishonorable because they know the plant will eventually die and you cannot prove it got the disease from them. I see rosette roses all the time, and without more knowledgeable people, this problem will persist. ESPECIALLY if big box stores knowingly sell infected plants. read more

This review is for curbside pickup during the COVID-19 pandemic. I ordered one small item, via curbside pickup. I did the curbside check in. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. Probably about half an hour total. Finally, I went into the store and talked to someone at the customer service desk, who immediately went to the back and grabbed my item and gave it to me. Had I not walked in myself, I would have probably just been waiting until the store closed. This wasn't that big of a deal for me, but would have been a real problem for someone using curbside pickup because they're immune-compromised, or mobility impaired. Don't bother with it! read more

The associates here must all be playing a game of how many customers they can ignore. I walked by 6 associates and although they made eye contact they quickly looked away and not one asked if I needed assistance. I asked someone for lumber and was sent across the store. When I got to lumber I asked for assistance and the associate said I don't work in that department but he does. The associate said what I was looking for (cabinet shelving) was on aisle 38 or 39. Which was at the opposite side of the store. I walked there and those aisles were flooring. I did see the same associate in the area and he didn't ask if I was able to find what I was looking for. I went in to Home Depot today at 0930 for 1 stick of Unistrut. They were out of 10fters but had plenty of 2fters. I went to customer service to see if there was anymore Unistrut or if I could just buy 5 2fters for the price of 1 10ft stick. The "front desk lead" whose name started with an "M" immediately and condesendingly replied, "No, you'll pay the regular price or go to another store." I realize it was an odd request, but there was no mention of looking for any more, no effort at all was even attempted to help me resolve the issue, and I was farewelled, of course, with a "Have a nice day, sir." Im in that Home Depot twice a week on average and spend 3-500 dollars every trip. Now? Im in Lowe's parking lot, leaving with a 10ft stick of unistrut. So "M", I hope your boss reads this and schools you up a bit on your job. Youshould be helping people find solutions, not dismissing them and sending them away from your store to spend money elsewhere. I miss mom and pop lumberyards. Well MAJOR fail taking the kids to Home Depot. The employees wouldn't help me find the right specialty screw. They just said whatever aisle screws were on and I told them I already went to that aisle but there wasn't anything there. So one guy walked me to the aisle and said it should be at number 14, I'll watch you walk there to find it. Then he walked away after I said "it's not here". This location, well, despite being the one I go to the most and the one that is the closest one to me, is not always the best one for a couple of reasons. My most recent trip there is classic. Traditionally, this store has what I need at reasonable prices. Sometimes I can find someone who really is a product expert, but not always. However, this stuff is in my knowledge base, so that doesn't hamper me as it might others. There are 2 buildings at this location, one for the lawn and garden and another for the rest of the store. This trip, I had to go to both. Due to recent surgery on my ankle, that meant I had to drive and park twice. The first item I went in for were a large pack of 9 volt batteries for all of my alarm clocks and other household clocks battery back ups. It took me more time to park, get out and back in the car (due to cast) than time in store. The batteries are right next to the check out and despite having to wait on a customer who didn't understand you have to have a store employee cut and measure rope so they can charge accordingly, it would have been under 30 seconds. Then I drove over to the OTHER side, which of course means stopping and allowing other customers to move on foot and in car, out of my way. Once I got over to the other side to buy some St Augustine sod, it wasn't in the store, but out in the parking lot. Thus I hobbled around to discover the grass they had looked poor. I was trying to replace dead grass and not buy more dead or dying grass. I have not had good luck finding healthy plants all of the time at this location and here we go again. The inconvenience of 2 separated buildings will always cost a star as it is NOT customer friendly! read more

I had to back-to-back trips to this Home Depot location and both were equally disappointing. I was aimless wondering the store, and I couldn't find one associate to help me for 10 minutes. I finally found someone to ask and they had no idea what I was talking about or trying to locate (clasp for a dryer duct). It was another 5-10 minutes for me to locate a different sales associate to help me locate what I needed. I went home and the contractor realized I needed another item a three-prong dryer cord. Again, I walked in and walked around the store hoping someone would ask if I needed assistance or if I could locate an associate for help. . . neither of these happened. Luckily for me, I was able to locate the item on my own. This Home Depot does not have the most helpful, available or knowledgeable associates and the store layout is not as functional as some because the nursery is not connected to the store. When it comes to customer service, Lowe's definitely has the upper hand. read more

You can really tell what kind of leadership this store has by the willingness of employees helping customers. I came to this store because of the horrible customer service I received at Lowe's when I was about to spend 3000 dollars on tools. Of course I back up but the associate did not tell me when to stop and my car door hits the open building door. My car is now missing 2 inches of paint. This is my neighborhood Home Depot, so I frequent this location out of convenience and necessity. I'd rather go to Lowe's, but given how close this is to my house, I find myself here a lot. Home Depot's issues with customer service are well-established. I understand this going in and have lowered my expectations accordingly. Yet, this store is still frustrating! The footprint of the main store is smaller than average. It is a converted K-Mart and not big enough to hold the usual assortment of Home Depot selections. For the basics, you'll be OK. But, if you want a variety to choose from or some less-than-usual products, you'll probably not find them here. The garden center is in a separate building, which I usually find extremely aggravating. Want to buy light bulbs AND chemicals for the pool? Two separate buildings, two separate transactions. So when I went to the counter, they offered no discount. Then when I asked for manager he had the nerve to tell me that no manager was on duty at 4 pm on a Friday afternoon... Even the cashier guy was indifferent to my being there, or whether I had a good experience. He honestly didn't give a fuck, neither did the other people I encountered. What a shame. Everyone who works at the Skillman Home Depot must HATE their job!!! I have never had so many rude encounters with employees in one visit my life. The man who works in lumber saw me with 12 Ft 2x4's and walked by and said "no cutting today ". I questioned him and he said system "was down". He told me to cut it with a handsaw to get into my car.
