Starting chatting with Alex asking about his OU ball cap he had on & learned we have mutual friends from OU. I'm 60 & was thrilled to learn that Alex grew up & went to OU w/some of my friends' kids Small world. I purchased the EGO Power+ 800 Series battery-powered lawn mower on June 4th. After setting it up and using it to mow my lawn, I found that it did not perform as expected. It required two passes to achieve the same cut quality as my old gas-powered mower. Additionally, the self-propelled feature felt clunky and was difficult to maneuver, making the mowing experience more cumbersome than convenient. I was hoping to make the switch away from gas and oil for conveince and environmental reasons, but unfortunately, this unit doesn't meet my needs. I've decided to return to using my old reliable gas mower for now. Now for Ace, I tried to return the mower after using it for 30-minutes and cleaning it up. I attempted to return a purchase to Ace Hardware on Coit and Beltline in Richardson and was refused a refund OR store credit with my original purchase receipt because my purchase was not returned within 30 days! "Ace Is The Place!" I totally get their tagline now! I visited this store to get some items for Christmas lights I really doubted they would have, custom length lighted pieces for the eaves of my house, guess what, they had them! Not only did they have them, the friendly, helpful employees showed me how to put them together and customize them for my house. I also took the opportunity to have some keys made, including one for my car, which requires a key fob...guess what, they had that too, and at a price that was about a fourth of what my car dealer wanted to replace the key. I brought mower blades to store on late morning Monday ... was told they would be ready on Monday afternoon ... I called around 3 and spoke to the person who would sharpen the blades and he told me he would get to them that day ... I said I would pick them up on Tuesday, late morning. Went to the store then and sure enough they werent sharpened and the person who would do that was off Tuesday ... told he would be in on Wednesday at 11 ... I asked that they be ready by noon for pickup. Called today at noon and that person is off again today so no sharpening. Whoever runs this store should teach his people to not make committments that cannot be kept. I am done going to this store forever!! read more

I live in the area and every single time I visit the store the knowledgeable sales people are so attentive, the store is pretty well stocked and if they do not have the product they will help you find A location/store to purchase the item. Today the one item I needed on my visit was a battery for the car key fob. Gene was so very helpful and patient as he worked for at least 15 minutes trying to open the case. It was a preowned vehicle and the case was so difficult to open we thought it may have been glued. Finally it opened, the battery was replaced and I was a super happy customer! Thanks for the amazing service every time I visit! So glad they are just around the block!!!! read more

Ace Hardware on Beltline did me a great favor and really bent over backwards to help. My son in law was transferred and had to get their house ready to sell in a very short time period. I called Ace to find out how long it would take to have two window screens redone and was told 1 to 2 weeks. When I told Justin the situation, he placed me on hold and came back to tell me if I could bring them in by noon the next day, Jeff would get them back to me the same day. Kudos to Justin and Jeff for awesome customer service. When I came to the store, Justin recognized me, got Jeff right away and 20 minutes later I had my new screens. read more

If you need hardware or home supplies, this is a good place if you want easy in and out. They don't have as big of a selection of some things like the big box stores, but they have generally what most people would need. The store is always clean and well stocked and The staff is always friendly and helpful. I like that I don't have to traipse around the store and go down 20 aisles to get something. I can be in and out in two or three minutes. I prefer this place over somewhere like home depot if I only need a few, general items and don't want to spend an hour getting them. read more

Went there to pick up an order placed online - trying to observe safety protocols given the COVID19 pandemic. Noticed right away that no masks or gloves being worn by many of the red vested workers, and no one observing social distancing. This is a small store so aisles can not accommodate more than 3-4 people at a time. Approached the cashier and asked about picking up the merchandise that was ready - and went outside to wait. An associate brought the item and when I asked about why they were not wearing masks or gloves (this location is in Dallas County - Masks are required) was told that "you're too sensitive". Not the helpful hardware folks their ads tout. The lack of awareness, empathy and safety here is remarkable. There are other sources for the products they offer which I will use moving forward. They were super helpful during COVID! Needed one small metal nut to finish a project and brought screws & the example size nut in a plastic ziploc bag. Associate from the store came out to the car, wearing mask and I explained what I needed. He found the right size item and it only cost 31 cents to solve the issue! This store is awesome!!! It has everything. Things you would expect in a hardware store and then it also has a great gift section. Totally unexpected. Speaking as someone who is in this store A LOT, the amount of Christian music is about maybe 3% of the music played. It's not at all overwhelming in my opinion. He patiently explained the process of painting a piece of furniture to me. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. You really can't beat that. Lowes and Home Depot employees can't even help you with simple things sometimes, like finding a light bulb. read more

I went there to buy some parts for my sprinkler and I had to return it. When I went to return the part, the cashier named Norma was extremely disrespectful and rude. She didn't know how to return items and she snapped at customers, including me. Since she didnt know how to return items she just stood there while the line was getting longer. After about 7 minutes of standing there doing nothing, she finally asked for assistance. In my previous experiences, staff has always been helpful and kind. There used to be superb employee named David and I havent seen him in a while. Unfortunate that I have to write this review because we have had good experiences until now :( read more

As a mechanical person and technical manager of a city Of Dallas building, I love hardware stores. I could spend a whole day walking the aisles and loading up a basket of tools and stuff to buy. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience at this Ace. I live in the area and I normally ride a small motorcycle. Today it was in need of a spark plug (i think) So I walked over from a job at the Fritz Park Library to pick one up at this Ace and grab some lunch at DQ. As soon as I walked through the door an employee asked me if I minded surrendering my belongings (my backpack) that holds: My wallet, phone and charger, computer, bike pump, camera, several tools, my extra clothing, a book, writing pad. I told him " I do mind". He informed me that he would get the manager. I told him I understood and responded " I don't trust anyone with my belongings and I just came for a spark plug. I don't intend on stealing and I believe you have cameras and after this, are watching me." I then proceeded to locate and begin to walk to the cashier within 30 seconds just to be stopped be the manager who stated "If you don't put your bag behind the counter you are going to have to leave." I asked if I could purchase my idem before leaving. He responded with "NO". So I dropped the product and walked out stating that I would speak to a "Higher up" which the manager laughed at. I feel I was profiled, like I was meant to feel like a thief. After explaining all of this I have a few questions. Was it because I am Hispanic? Was it because of my hair?
