2 years ago I was told I was buying windows with a double lifetime warranty. Now the widows are falling apart and apparently the old man salesman left out parts only. I reached out months ago to resolve the issue and being passed from one person to the next and no resolution. Had countertops installed several months ago. I told the lady at the store the measurements were wrong she basically shut me down. No issues with the countertop. The store employees are great but the sales people are shady and the management is awful. DO NOT PURCHASE anything from them that requires a middleman or them being transparent or honest. they don't have the capacity to be decent human beings. I've found Lowes to be much more accommodating for my construction needs. I believe that I was intentionally misled by Home Depot. Forgetting the "fine print" I was led to believe that the price quoted was, indeed, for the replacement of the hot water heater that was being sold to me. In fact, even though your "salesperson" knew that I was NOT replacing the water heater with exactly the same model, I was told by your installer that the quoted price ($800 more than the cost of the heater itself) only covered replacing the heater with exactly the same model. In fact, I was charged $500 additional because the pipes, etc. had to be moved. This was clearly known by HD (including a picture of the old heater) and I was clearly never told that there would be any charge for anything other than any need to correct things that were out of code. To summarize, I believe HD essentially stole $500 from me. I will not only never use this service again but will put this review everywhere I can find that entertains reviews - my obligation to protect others from your predation! read more

Service is a "0"! Not the store per se but the entire Home Depot system. Attempted to have a HD H20 water sftener that they sell for $399 (Rheem). Referred me to their "Preferred Vendor" to install. Well this vendor would not install what Home Depot wanted to sell me and instead attempted to up-sale me to a $3,000.00 system. I could take another 2 pages to go on about the inepittude of what HD promises but failes to deliver. I called HD customer servce. They were useless. Got transffered back to same peoplke who tried to upsale me!! That added insult to injury. Don't trust Home Depot and thioer promises that they can take care of the sale and installation. I went into this Home Depot to get wood cut and some screws. The gentlemen who cut the wood were very nice. Then I went to the hardware dept for the screws and needed help. A lady stocking the shelves got a man to help me and another man. When this old man was done helping the man, he completely disregarded me and went to help another man. When I walked over to him to tell him I was next which he already knew, he said to me "TOO BAD" he was obviously discriminating because I am a women. When I called and spoke to the manager, he did not even ask my name. Thats because I am a lowly women and he didn't give a crap! Horrible customer experience!!! Please be careful when renting anything from this place. I rented a ladder on 3/09 for 4 hours and returned it promptly the same day within the time slot. Guess what? On 3/22, I was charged $438 on my credit card for the ladder not being returned. I went to the store the same day and found that they had closed a different person's ladder contract instead of mine. Long story short, I had to make three additional trips to the center and discuss multiple times with the team and managers, to get my refund back. I understand that mistakes happen sometimes; however, I was not expecting this level of carelessness from the team in sorting out the issue. I had a terrible experience at the Lowe's near by and made a bee-line here. I am an art teacher and once a year I go to Lowe's (well, not anymore) to have some wooden planks cut down to use for sculpture bases. Yesterday I tried the Lowe's in Pottstown, but their wood cutting was out of order. Today I went to Lowe's in Downingtown. I selected my planks and asked for assistance. The two people in the department were busy and asked me to wait until they were free. No problem. I waited 15 minutes for them to be free. When the employee met me at the cutter, he asked what I needed done. I had 4 10' planks that I needed cut into 12" pieces. It would take about 5 minutes to do. He told me he didn't have time to do it. He said if he did have time, he would have to charge me for the cutting (I already knew that because there was a sign saying so) I said I didn't mind paying for the cutting, but he refused to do it because he "didn't have enough time." There is a Home Depot just down the road. I went straight there. They were friendly and accommodating. They cut down the wood and it took 5 minutes. They did not charge me for the cutting and helped me load up my cart. It was a world of difference and the reason I will no longer shop at Lowe's. Thank you, Home Depot. read more

We purchased all new appliances for our kitchen. Home Depot uses GEA Delivery and Installation. Their delivery guys were over an hour early so I could not get home in time. My husband rushed home since they were at our door with the appliance unboxed. They didn't even need to remove the old stove just slide in the new. They managed to bust our cabinets while kicking the stove into the floor lock. They refused to reimburse or fix the broken cabinet. On 11/14/22 I purchased a washer/dryer laundry tower, it was delivered 2 weeks later. The driver and assistant removed the old appliances and unboxed the new unit. It has a dent on the side, driver called warehouse and showed someone who told him to tell me not to accept it. Back it goes and it's another 2 weeks for the replacement. That was delivered yesterday and driver immediately says there is a problem with where the dryer vents (thru the ceiling), said it had to vent straight thru (closet on other side of wall). Said he can't do it, call your dryer guy, and left. Installation was supposed to be included in price I paid. Called customer service, spent most of 45 minuted on hold while rep worked on this, sent me an email with different companies to contact in my area. Today 2 very polite and professional men came and installed my unit. The cost, $631.00. A part I had paid for was not included in the delivery. Another phone call to HD, I am being refunded $53.00. Told rep I was very upset about this as 1st delivery person saw where unit was going and never said there would be a problem, I felt that 2nd guy saw it was a tight space and didn't want to do it. She told me delivery people have the discretion to install or not. This was never mentioned when I purchased the appliance. Will not be shopping there again!! read more

On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, I bought a faucet at Home Depot in Downingtown, PA as countertops were being installed in my kitchen. The contractor was waiting for the faucet. Unfortunately, my car would not start, and I had forgotten my phone. I want to give a shout out to Patty in the Returns Department who went way beyond her job description to help me. She looked up the phone number of the countertop company so I could have them let the contractor know I was going to be late. (Unfortunately, they were not open yet.) Then she tried to look up the number of a neighbor so he could tell the contractor I was going to be late. (There were too many people with his name.) Finally, she called the acting manager and asked if there was any way they could help me. Although the manager never showed up, Patty made a real effort to help me. The Downingtown location offers much better customer service and a overall pleasant experience than any Home Depot I have ever been to. From picking out flooring with a young woman who was professional and knowledgeable to the delivery process. On 3/22/14, I called HD to see about an estimated arrival time on the delivery of my flooring. The gentleman who answered was named Jeff. He politely told me that there really isn't a time-frame except that I would get it today. I completely understood, but he was very apologetic about that particular policy. We then hung up and five minutes later, I got a call from Jeff. He said, 'Sir, I have located the driver and you should be receiving a call from him momentarily. Went in and asked him what I should use for rust proofing tin ceiling tiles. Phone battery dead so didn't research it before I went. When your customer service staff at the customer service desk is so undertrained, even after 6 months of being in the job, that they take 1.5 hours (yes, a full 90 minutes) to ring you up for a flooring purchase, and then refer to it as "complicated" before you, the customer, jump in and walk them through the highly intuitive screen yourself (even though you've had zero training on their system), just to ring yourself up and avoid spending any more time in that crappy store, you've earned less than one star. My family and I are always going to this location and never had any issues until today. I had a 5Gal. Water jug that I needed to return and pick up a new one. The employee at the register just closed but she offered to take me since I had that big jug which was very nice of her. As soon as I walked towards the register "Ally" who worked at the self-checkout yelled over all the registered saying that register is closed!!! I didn't appreciated that but ignored that part and walked over to the self checkout. I figured "Ally" didn't see I had a water jug so I took my jug out of the cart and tried to explain that I needed a jug and that's why I was over at the other register plus the employee offered to take me. "Ally" totally ignored me with an attitude and ran right over to a checkout screen to enter my jug. Than - walked right back passed me with an attitude. My husband needed help since he is a veteran and she did the same thing again. At this point I was fuming!!! If anything Ally needs to be retrained in customer service or find another job with no human contact if she cant treat people with respect. My friends use "the crappy one" to describe this Home Depot, and "the good one" to describe the Home Depot in Frazer. I don't know what happened to this store over the past few years, but the quality of the store has decreased significantly. First thing I noticed - they got rid of hand baskets. Why?! Now if I am going in there for three small items, say a box of light bulbs, a box of screws, and a box of batteries, I have to push a huge shopping cart around the store. Second - I no longer get cell reception in the store when I used to just fine. Thankfully, the store lets you connect to their awful free wifi network which doesn't work. I guess they don't want you going online and looking up how bad their Ryobi line of tools is. Third - they let those third party "amway" style salesmen come to the store and bother you. I don't want to be talked into buying new siding that I don't need while I just came in here to buy a replacement part for my sink drain. Here was the final straw - I went here on my lunch break to buy some carriage bolts. They closed the entire screw aisle. All because some bumbling idiot was operating a forklift in the lumber aisle next to the screw aisle. I stood there for ten minutes watching this simpleton figure out how to use the forklift before I gave up and left. I only come here because it is close to my office and I can get stuff on my lunch break. I'd much rather go to the Frazer location. Lowes and the local hardware store are equally close to my office. The worst, beginning with their online store. Ordered three cans of deck stainer yesterday and there were six in stock. Home Depot offered a $25 discount on the order if we signed up for their credit card. I did and the first online invoice before proceeding to payment showed the $25 off the order. The screen then showed the amount to pay BEFORE the discount. I thought maybe you had to complete the payment for the discount to apply. WRONG! Called their credit services number and it indeed wasn't applied. They said they would do it manually for me and it would appear when the first statement was issued. Today I received a text saying the item ordered is not available. Really??? Just called H.D. and got a rude woman on the phone. She asked how she could direct my call and I said customer service. She transferred me, only to be disconnected. Called back and got a nice man named Bill at the Pro Service desk. He said he would look into the situation and get back to me. Took it out of the box, cut the zbar, lined it up, and...UGH...didn't fit. I called the store, spoke to the manager, and told her what happened. I shop there at least once a week and multiple times frequently on the weekends. I have moved a few times and have visited several Home Depot's in the country and like you all have spent thousands. This store is as good or bad as any other. I noticed a couple of bad reviews on here which I don't think are really fair. I don't care to be sold solar panels while looking for a door knob but all the staff has been kind and helpful to me so I am satisfied thus far. I went to pick up a new mower that my wife ordered me online and I thought it was a nice touch to be given a bottle of water for each of us. I never have problems returning things at Home Depot in general and that is important when it comes to doing thing yourself which I really enjoy. read more

Was redoing a bathroom and had to replace the threshold which would join hardwood flooring and ceramic tile. I bought one of those marble prefab thresholds which you just have to cut to length. I wasn't exactly sure of how to build up the space underneath the flooring so that I could adhere and caulk it properly. A gentleman working in the flooring section was fantastic and recommended the backer board that people use typically for backsplashes and the like. Since I needed so little of it for my project, and to help me avoid overspending, this guy offered to go to his truck because he had a remnant and he then gave it to me to use. Awesome dude. I wish I had his name but tall, gray hair with glasses. Super nice guy who was of great help that day. Compared to Lowe's on the same day which was a terrible experience. read more

The staff knows nothing about the products, doesn't manage expectations, and Home Depot uses an installer in Delaware that is very expensive and completely incompetent; two men with long faces showed up at my door at 3 pm to remove and install wood flooring from a large room, then proceded to tell me the flooring was damaged so that they could go home! Couldn't find anyone at Home Depot who could answer my questions at 3:15 pm, so I had to let the men go. Never, never again. read more
