Clean store. Everything is well marked. This is our go to store for all home improvement needs. Since moving I think we are here every other week if not more. Several great clearance buys. Mixed paint always comes out correctly. For the most part you can usually find an employee to help you. The side parking lot has a side road close to the Walgreens - it connects over to the gas station and longhorn and another red light! Absolutely mortified at the customer service experience I had at this place. Went with the intention of buying both a washer and dryer. Well, needless to say I left empty handed after waiting 45minutes to even be acknowledged. However, I did find it very interesting that there were plenty of employees standing around. When another employee asked one of the the workers to help us, she proceeded to yell out what do y'all need. Furthermore, she walked away and we were still not helped. My wife and I waited for over an hour for assistance buying a dish washer. Went to the service desk twice, they told me someone was on their way both times. Asked two employees that happened by while we were waiting and both said they would get someone. We had cash in hand and was going to buy it on the spot. After waiting for a little over an hour, we decided to head to Lowe's. We weren't in Lowe's 5 minutes that we had someone not only greet us but asked us how they could help. They walked us back to the dishwashers, helped us pick out one, and we were out the door. The whole process took less than 30 minutes. The service at the store is great but I made the mistake of buying the Behr Ultra Scuff Defense paint and it is a horrible product!! Sprays on real thin and it runs, lots of drips, no good coverage at all, very light in the hiding results on the coverage and forget painting doors and trim it peels right off!! I ordered a rolling toolbox from this store online to be delivered from this store to my house. The first day it was supposed to come I called them and they said sorry they dropped the ball. They scheduled a delivery for the following Monday. I called to ensure that they had my order coming out in Monday at lunch, they said that their system is down but that a driver will call me an hour ahead of the delivery but it could come as late as 8:00pm. I patiently waited until 7:30pm to call again. When the lady checked on my order she said it had been rejected by them that day, but couldn't tell me why or what went wrong after the order had already been paid for by me. No call or email was sent to me informing me of any problems. Save your time and money and go to Lowe's. read more

I usually shop Lowe's but some fellow employees was raving about the Ryobi cordless weed eater. So last summer around late June early July we decided to purchase one for ourselves. During the last mowing season we used the weed eater 10 times and twice so far. The battery was already defective. I called and spoke to a gentleman at the customer service desk, whose name is Lonnie, and told him about my situation. Told him I didn't have a recipes and he said it was fine it was covered under warranty. When we arrived he said go and see if we have another on. We did and when we got up to the customer service desk he scanned the box and said we were done! Easiest swap I have ever had. Will shop Home Depot more often than Lowe's going forward!!!! read more

This whole appliance order process has been an absolute joke. The order was placed on Black Friday sales, we chose and paid in cash for everything. I wanted delivered in Feb, I had to extend because our house wasn't ready yet. Then Home Depot pushes my order delivery out three more times and no one can tell me why. I finally called customer service 4-5 times and someone told me that the fridge was the whole hold up because the lady that placed it in store didn't order it correctly and add the door panels like I requested in store. I finally after contacting the store dept every day for 5 days got someone to help me. They cancelled the order for the fridge. They ordered the new fridge and only offered to pay for part of the additional cost. I had to pay $400 more on top of what I already paid for my fridge. Even though the original issues with the fridge were not our fault. They ordered the fridge incorrectly and I had to pay $400 more for it. Then they told me they would pay the other $400 and they would apply free installation service on ALL of my appliances. Well the guys from the contractor place just dropped them off and they refused to install because the managers at Home Depot lied and didn't put the installation services on the appliances like they stated they would. So now I'm out $800 total on my appliances still. I should have went to Lowe's Appliance Dept and paid more money. I've never had these issues with Lowe's on any of my orders. Etown Home Depot is awful. And they don't want to correct their mistakes. They basically stole the deal I got on my appliances at Black Friday. And none of the managers care at all about correcting the issues. They didn't understand why I would even think I should get my fridge for the price I originally paid for it, and said I should not expect them to eat all that money on the new fridge because of their error. Very rarely shop at this location, as I prefer Lowe's across the street. Had to visit as I had to specifically get a gift card to H.D. As I am not familiar with the store, I asked one of the cashiers (an elderly, very tan woman) where I could buy a gift card. Her entire demeanor was very off-putting and rude. To be honest, she acted like my question was the dumbest thing she had ever heard and she couldn't be bothered. I felt dumb and belittled for even asking her. It was later in the evening, and she was not busy. I have worked in retail/retail management for about 10 years, and while bad days and bad customer experiences happen you cannot allow that to interfere with your interactions with other customers. I seriously hope that is not her attitude all of the time, if it is she should not be a customer facing employee. This experience reinforces my attitude of this location unfortunately, and why I am consistently underwhelmed. read more

I ordered carpet for two rooms. had to wait six weeks and then after emptying both rooms, two guys show up but short on pad so couldn't install the carpet. Do not use curbside pick up unless you have at least a couple of hours to waste. And they stop at 6:00 pm so be sure you arrive by 4:00 pm at the latest; if you have to drive 40 minutes to get there, add that additional time. And dress decent enough to walk in because they don't answer the phone when you arrive, no matter how long you are on hold or how many times you redial; and also make sure you're ready and able to load your own curbside delivery order after you have to walk in and wait some more, in line, to pick it up on your own. But before doing all of this (if you aren't a person of leisure and don't have this much time, which is why you ordered curbside delivery to begin with) you can call the 800 # in your confirmation email and cancel your order; unless the online machine that answers tells you "your order has been picked up" already (???). If you have the time and patience for this, shop at Home Depot in Elizabethtown KY. I suspect their days are numbered now that Menards is on the way, and it can't be soon enough. Brad who I believe works back where the lumber is, was walking by me and I asked him about having my plywood cut and he said he would take care of it. Brad was great, very friendly and professional. There is very little difference between its major competitor with the only exception being that they are not as busy, thus lines are shorter when checking out; otherwise there very little incentive to shop at one or the other. read more

This store will have everything you need for a better price than Lowe's which is just over Dixie Highway from this location. I always find appliances at a more competitive price here and the tools are better quality and lower priced. Service is courteous and you won't have to wait in a Walmartesque checkout line a dozen carts long. I normally stand in line less than 60 seconds. My only gripe would be their lumber selection. Simple pine 2x2s seems like a no-brainer for a large outlet but they always force me to buy 2x4s and rip them in half. Otherwise, these folks will help you out cheerfully and most of their employees have am impressive depth of expertise. If nothing else, they know where everything is located which says something about how the store is managed and stocked. read more
