It's time I review this place... give them their "due". So I've recently (a year ago) moved from west Eugene out to the Hayden Bridge area, which puts me squarely between a Jerry's and this HD. For most things, I've been taking the straight shot to HD--though I love me some Jerry's. My last few visits to this HD have been all about tools, lumber, paint, and electrical nonsense. I also buy my pellets here. My most recent trip however... was to buy a BBQ grill. So after I'd done some online research and sorted out what grill I wanted, within my comfy price range... It was determined that the highly rated machine is an item HD carries. With that info in mind, I sped over there straight away and was grilling chicken skewers within hours. My first ACTUAL BBQ grill. Makes me feel like a card carrying "man", finally. In my zeal to become a grill master, however... I managed to bust the handle in my new toy. It was completely my fault and had nothing to do with HD or the manufacturer. So... I rang HD up to see what it might set me back to have a replacement shipped. The lady who took my call only asked what my order number was and then issued me a new handle. She said I should see it in the mail promptly. Not only that... she credited my account back $10, "for the inconvenience"!! Say what!?! I f*#ked this thing up and you want to give ME $10 in credit for it??? That there deal is like a sore d__k. Ya just can't beat it! On top of that very cool bit O' service, they've also treated me really well on a few returns and a suspicious claim (suspicious on my behalf). I bought a tool a few months back, but when I got home and unboxed my item... I found everything BUT the tool in said box. Knowing full well that I was going to be looked at rather suspiciously... I headed back to plead my case. After what was a very brief line of questioning, as well as additional HD staff being pulled into the matter... they exchanged my empty box for one that was full of the tool in question. I guess I'm saying this location, and the Home Depot in particular, have been very good to me. :) I especially like Dean, in the paint dept. That dude is not only knowledgable, but funny and engaging. Four thumbs-up and 6 stars! read more

I'd probably give this place a 3.5, but I don't feel anything particularly negative enough to round down to 3, so 4 stars it is. Me and my boyfriend always come here for firewood and wood pellets, but I find it fun to pick up household things here and there as well. A huge variety of items in an equally large range of prices, Home Depot is a fun place to shop, as long as you know your prices. If it's for the home, Home Depot probably has it in on one of its many clean and well organized warehouse-sized aisles and shelves. As far as customer service goes, I haven't encountered any problems, but nothing spectacular either. read more

I stopped by the other day needing some paint for a small project I had going. I've frequented this Home Depot quite a few times in the past years being it's rather close to my home. I know this place pretty well, and the department areas are labeled and pretty clear. I have experienced not being able to find help, but if you go to the front counter by the entrance and ask for help, they can page somebody for you. I've bought lots of plywood and lumber from here. The guys are always helpful and they'll even cut the wood to your exact measurements. Very helpful for when you have a simple project drawn out and just need the materials. They have a large selection of paint as well. We came here to choose the color for my daughters room and had help immediately. 2 days ago I came in and got a quart of white paint for $9. The paint did a great job and looks wonderful. It dried to the touch in 1.5 hours and that allowed me to throw the 2nd coat on which helped me wrap up my little project all in the same day. Also....They have self check-out for days they may be low on cashiers or if you're like me and just needed a small can of paint and a brush really quick. read more

We have had some amazing service from this store! The customer service was outstanding! We were looking for lighting, Bob M. Was super helpful, and helped save us $$$$!!! He helped price compare, without us prompting him! My guy is kinda grumpy and doesn't like to shop! Hardware store he can tolerate and he was impressed! He was looking for a clip for his drill and they didn't have one but the young-ish guy that helped him said why don't I just give you one from the display model!!!! Are you frickin' kidding me! Couldn't ask for better service than that! Some else complained about them always asking if you need help, we were asked a lot of times. Sometime we did and sometimes we didn't. My daughter and I went to the Green Acres location today to purchase a part for one of our bathroom toilets. Yes, nothing fun about fixing your toilet!!! But, someone's got to do it.... leave it to the ladies of the house to get it done!! After we were unable to locate the parts, an employee explained that they no longer carried the part in store and that it would have to be ordered through the manufacturer. My daughter thought the name of the employee that assisted us, may have been Ian, after glancing at his name tag. We truly appreciated his willingness to help and to go the extra mile in explaining to us how to order the part. Ultimately, we decided to simplify things by just purchasing a whole new set (Toilet Seat with attachments), which 'Ian' helped us pick out. We appreciate that we always get exceptional customer service when visiting Home Depot!!!! read more

I personally love Home Depot. The most #1 reason was that they allow our dog inside the store. Our dog has been going to Home Depot since he was about 10 weeks old. Everyone has been very friendly. They have treats at the customer service stand. My dog knows when we are at Home Depot. He's directs us to hit up the Customer Service Stand 1st! He is aware of some of the long time employees! He get so excited because some remember his name! :0) Not to mentioned they didn't bock at our dog being a Pitbull. Just so you are aware we asked prior just to taking him in when he was 10 weeks and what the requirements were. He has learned to be social and have good people skills! I'm glad Pet Smart suggested Home Depot during his training! Thank you Home Depot! read more

I bought a transition for hardwood floor to carpet and asked for assistance to find the right one. A lady pointed out what I needed and was told to find the wood one that would look the best. So that is what I did. When I showed it to the individual doing the work he said he would try to make it work. In the end it didn't work, the lip of the transition was too short. The pieces he used were thrown away. He went to another Home Depot and bought the correct transition that had a wider lip. I didn't know that there was a difference, it was all new to me. Now I know better. Later I thought I should take back the remaining piece and ask for a refund. When I went back to the Home Depot that I bought it from, the lady at the refund counter looked at me like "what do you want". I explained what happened and had my receipt in hand. She said "what do you want me to do, you don't have all of the pieces to return to the vendor". I walked away and said "that was really helpful". I wish I had gotten her name. Back in my car I called the customer service line for Home Depot and explained what happened. She got all of my information and at first offered a $15 gift card. I said the item cost almost $40. She then came back with $30. I took it, but was not happy with the attitude of the lady in the store at the refund counter. Here is what the web site says about refunds: "Be 100% happy with your purchase or we will take it back. No problem." Simply take your purchase back to any Home Depot and get your money back instantly or exchange for something else. Be sure to bring a copy of your receipt or shipping confirmation email, credit card you used for the item and vaild I.D. So apparently you need all of the pieces for the refund to work. I understand that policy for many items, but it didn't work in this situation. So no, I was not 100% happy with the purchase and was definitely not 100% happy with the customer service of this one particular individual. I did buy some transitions from Jerry's that also didn't work. I brought them back and got a refund no problem (a couple of the transitions had been cut and were missing a small section). Lesson learned...go to Jerry's and not Home Depot! read more

I walked up to the Pro Services desk today with a privacy fence diagram that I wanted priced out. There were three people at that station, no customers, I asked if that was something she could do. She said this was the pro desk, but she would help me until someone else came up with a bigger order, and that it might take her a few days to get it priced out. It's 20 feet of fence, maybe three panels and some posts. I told her to send me to someone who could help, she said maybe someone in lumber would have the time to work on it. Then she said no, I will work with you until someone else comes up with a bigger order (again). Way to make me feel important (not!). Yes, by this time I was not feeling welcome, so I ripped the diagram out of her hands and walked out. I truly do hope I gave her a paper cut! Beware this store is horrible! They sell you a story. Bought a dishwasher and paid for install and takeaway...technicians show up without tools! Claim they are prohibited from using tools. They were rude incompetent. When brought to Home Depot's attention they MANAGER of the store claim they have nothing to do with installers or technicians. Home Depot is right up there with Wal-Mart as far as service goes. Like others, we've spent a lot of money there. They sold us carpet that lasted 6 months. It was "premium" carpet at $4.50sf. No one wears shoes in my home, my home is spotless and the carpet WAS only in the bedrooms. No outside traffic was allowed on the carpets and we're only a family of 3. VERY clean Japanese style home!!! Carpet was trash. I even purchased Home Depots warranty. My carpet ended up with what's called corn rows and after 6 months the fibers fell out where you would walk in and out of the room. Home Depots response to the warranty....Oh, corn rows are normal. And no, we didn't shampoo the carpet, didn't even get hat far. As for the wear marks.....Home Depot's response "oh, it's normal for the fibers to fall out where you walk" LOL. Stupid people. Rip off. I have used this Home Depot location on several occasions in an attempt to find items not stocked at Jerry's. The prices here seem high compared to similar items at Jerry's but that is not my main complaint. Like several people I have talked to, I can never seem to find any working at this store. I have only ever seen two cash registers open (no matter how long the lineup is) and only rarely have I been able to spot any employees in the aisles. I would therefore highly recommend Jerry's Home Improvement over Home Depot if you are in need of any assistance. read more

Super disappointing, my boyfriend and i drove to home depot, over going to other stores similar, because they are known for giving veterans a 10% discount, but today even with proper ID and verification the store manager informed us that Home Depot will no longer be giving a veterans discount because too many people have been lying lately. We will most definitely not be shopping there anymore mainly because of the treatment given to a veteran asking for a discount that has been given out before. read more

Worst experience I've ever encountered. Customer service was awful and made us actually leave this store and go to another one. We ended up ordering our flooring from the other store and it was delayed by their third party delivery by over a week. We ended up having to buy the flooring again and it was purchased from this Home Depot. Again, my order was over a week late. I have not been able to move into my house and this was related to the management and they said there is nothing they can do. Very unfortunate. Beware when you buy a fridge, they say it is going to be free install, I asked even the water in the door. They said yes it's all covered. They lie just to sell a fridge. We had two guys bring it in and the only install they did was put the handles on it. We asked to have it hooked up, they don't do that, it cost us an additional two hundred to have the water ran . Our management requires a professional so if any thing goes wrong they have someone to sue. But if you buy from Home Depot add two hundred for the water run. Beware. I will never shop at Home Depot again!! The Green Acres store in Eugene, Oregon has the worst retail management I have ever dealt with! Our first appointment for carpet installation was canceled without us being contacted-- they flat out stood us up!! The 2nd appointment was canceled by the installer about 18 hours before our appointment time. I called Home Depot and basically got handed from one "manager on duty" to the next one, finally the assistant store manager, Jason got involved. This is when an already bad experience turned horrific! It was not until after I contacted customer care and asked to speak with a district manager, that we received a call from the store manager, Jay who actually made the situation worse. Long story short-- my husband and I have each missed 2 days of work moving furniture, making time for calls, oops..I forgot to mention one of the "managers on duty" Jose said that we were his number one priority, that he was going to call my husband and myself both within an hour -- more than 24 hours later I called him back and asked what happened to the phone call that was promised to happen over 24 hours ago-- Jose went off on me and said he had other customers to deal with---really, Jose...you told me that we were your #1 priority!! We canceled our order, the money is not in our account yet.....Just an overall horrific and stressful experience!! read more

Purchased a dishwasher several years ago from HD and was pleased with is so when our new to us needed a new dishwasher my husband wanted to purchase it at HD, He went tp the appliance department on 4/27/17. After waiting over 20 minutes and no one showing to help him, he returned home. After lunch he decided to try again. This time there was a female employee sitting at a computer. He went over to her to ask a couple of questions after which she rather nastily inquired "Anything else?" He said no and walked out. Green Acres Home Depot is to be avoided at all costs. It gives a whole new meaning to the words "customer service" as in no service at all. And if you do get someone to help after having to go to cashier to ask for some help, you typically get someone who is, well call a spade a spade, a moron. You get the idea the employees are stoners what with the blank looks on their faces and not knowing a damn thing other than to read the packaging. No expertise to be found here. Sadly it is only two blocks from my home so the past few years in a pinch or to avoid the freeway jam I go there. I always regret it and find myself doing what many say around here "Better head to Jerry's" which is well staffed with expert help. It is worth the extra four miles to go there, always getting what you need instead of seldom finding what one needs at The Home Depot. And as for management here, I have never heard a kind word spoken about them, especially the Store Manager. I strongly recommend buying appliances from a different store. Please read. On November 26, 2016 my husband and I purchased a 4 piece Frigidaire kitchen appliance set from Home Depot because we did a complete kitchen remodel. It was our First time ever buying appliance. Delivery date was set up for December 12th and we were told damaged items needed to be returned within 48 hours. A week prior to delivery date we realized we would not complete our kitchen remodel on time and I called to ask the delivery date be later. The best they could do was the 27th. (They never offered for us to pick up appliances at store and we could have done this) Since we have had no kitchen since October this date didn't work best for us because we would be done with kitchen on the 19th and we wanted a functional kitchen by Christmas. We decided to accept the delivery. At the time of delivery we didn't completely remove all the packaging (styrofoam) and examined to our best ability. To what we thought was acceptable, Possibly paying too much attention to the front. At the time of installation the wrapping was removed and found the refrigerator and stove were severely damaged. Damaged beyond functionality as the frame of each item was bent. The stove bottom drawer could not open and close. The fridge was leaning when packing was removed. The Items would not properly fit in cabinets. The damage could not have been caused by two humans dropping it. Frigeridaire only wanted to help by sending a technician to access damage and couldn't come till the week of the 26th. Home Depot offered little to no resolutions. They expected us to rebuy the items at the current price they offered no replacement or discount if repurchased never offered to waive or reduce the restocking fee said if we did get the appliances it would be 3-4 weeks. Or honoring their 30 day delivery policy I'm beyond disgusted with the Eugene local store and the corporation. They have NO interest in customer satisfaction especially those who have spent a significant amount of money. They do not care if they lose customers. In the end the items were returned and we paid a $220 restocking fee and repurchased the items from lowes. Lowes had a fridge and stove in stock and we picked them up on the 21st. Please think fully when buying appliances from Home Depot. I strongly recommend a different company. read more

horrible experience...will never shop at home depot again. i bought a refrigerator and dishwasher and had them installed. the crew could not install the dishwasher and said i needed a plumber. paid plumber $329 who stated there was absolutely nothing unusual or difficult about the installation. called back to have old dishwasher and packing materials removed and appointment was set of oct 10. called back on oct 10 to confirm and was told it was scheduled and to keep waiting...you know the rest, they never showed up and dishwasher is still sitting on porch. they do not care and will do nothing to help...go elsewhere! read more
