We're new to Eugene, which means we needed to get several things for our new house and yard. We wanted to avoid Lowe's if at all possible (due to their hefty financial support of certain corrupt politicians), so we were very happy to find Jerry's. The staff were lovely, and a couple of them were able to quickly direct us to the appropriate aisles when we looked confused. Prices and selections comparable to Lowe's. I was so happy to find this place when I moved to the area! The selection is so much better than some of the big chain stores! We went to the Springfield store today. In TWO different departments. In the garden center I was getting garden soil and a young man with an empty flat bed stood behind me waiting to get by while I struggled to lift the soil into my cart. I got 4 bags and not once did he offer to help. Even as I said "wow, this is heavy"!!!! In the tool department I was looking for a wrench and finally had to ask a young man if he could help me He didn't know and said that's all they carry. Meanwhile 3 more young men walked up and they all started to discuss some characters in a game they were going to play. I'm now going to buy my wrench on Amazon (better service!). I've been here a few times in person and people in store are very helpful. Always asking if you need anything. By phone I've not had such a great experience. This is the second time I've called the store in trying to find if they stock something and I was placed on hold both times for a long time and went back to operator and sent back to the department to be hung up on. I don't mind waiting if someone is busy but they could answer let me know and either give me a chance to wait or take my number and pray for a call back. Instead each occasion today being the most recent I'm sent back to the department I needed ( today doors and windows) to have them pick up the phone and then hang it up. It wasn't that accidental dropped call thing it was literally someone picking up the phone ( I was being transferred to someone named Lisa to see if she could help but I got the pick up and hang up. With Lowe's and Home Depot in town Jerry's needs to do better. It's not just a little drive over for me it's an hour so I need to know if they have what I need before for a two hour round trip journey for nothing. A polite Hello this is .... I'm a big Jerry's fan! As some of the other reviews have alluded to, all of the employees there are super helpful and knowledgeable and generally happy. When we were renovating our house, my husband particularly loved their drive up/drive-thru wood lot. Easier and faster than the other stores. They do price match, but note that it has to be the EXACT same item- same color, item number, etc. The one thing I wish Jerry's would improve upon is their website. It would be nice to be able to look up products and what is in stock, and even order online. read more

Definitely solid experiences here, and it's convenient because it's close enough to Junction City to justify avoiding bigger chain stores. Selection isn't bad, they usually have what I need, and the prices are competitive. Parking is great, service is friendly and you can always find someone to help, and the store is clean and easy to navigate. The garden section is fun, and holiday times are great too. Honestly anything that keeps me from going farther into the city when I don't want to is great, but it wouldn't be worth it if the store want comparable. If you aren't sure what you need their employees do, just ask! I loved the drive-through lumber yard & the staff that work there ready to answer every question & help you load your sticks, cement etc. A game changer compared to Home Depot's set up where you have to pick, load a cart, check out, drag your load to your rig, & load it again. I visited Jerrys 8/12/24 with intention to purchase a metal hose for my Grohe faucet. I searched on line knowing they ran $85 to $104. Jerrys did not have the hose we needed. Terry who works in plumbing said they could order. Then he came up with an idea that would fix our problem fast, espeically with kitchen a mess. Terry suggusted buying a new Grohe faucet with special price for their anniversary sale. Original price $439 on sale for $99.99. Same cost of new hose. My husband installed new faucet thanks to Terry. We go to Jerrys for the great service and because of employees like Terry. Thank you. read more

I went in to Jerry's to buy a riding mower and when I asked the sales person for my Veterans discount he said that the brand of mower I wanted did not offer the Veterans discount, so, no I couldn't get my discount. Usually when I go in to spend just a few dollars I dont bother them with it but for an 1800.00 mower it's worth fighting for. So I went across town to another hardware store offering the same mower. When I went in to pay for it the sales person had to jump through a few hoops on the register and it did take him a few more minutes but he got my discount for me, which was quite substantial, So, whats up with that? I do like Jerrys for most things but I try to make the extra effort to visit the place that was willing to go the extra mile for me! read more

I was excited to pick up some plants at Jerry's today but turned and left after seeing 20 customers or more in a single line at their nursery with only one cashier on duty. I went inside to let one of their staff know they needed to open up another register but he didn't seem to care and said "well, it's not up to me to make the call, it's up to that cashier to call for backup." When a store has 20 customers in line, and there is only one cashier, that's not a backup, that's a necessity! I left the plants I had in my cart and walked off because if I'm going to fork over $200+ of my hard earned money, I shouldn't be subjected to wait 30-45 minutes to check out. That's just ridiculous and a poor way to run your business. They have the staffing but all their staffers were doing was walked around not being very helpful. Total disaster and highly disappointing whenever I see this. Gordon Ramsay should do a show called "store hell" for places like this. read more

Yesterday (April 21, 2024) I went to Jerry's HI in Eugene. It was busy. I expected that. While trying to check out at the garden center, the customer in front of me had a price discrepancy regarding her purchase. The scan price did not match the sale price. The employee made no effort to resolve the issue and it resulted in the disenfranchised customer leaving her cart and storming out of the store. Now it was my turn. I had been waiting in line to purchase my items and was a bit miffed that it had taken me 15 minutes to get to the register. Apparently, it registered on my face. The checkout employee was primed by the previous customer interaction and immediately ask me "Why is everybody so mad today?" I calmly explained that I was a bit disgruntled at having to wait in line so long for my purchase when only 1 of 6 registers is available in the garden center. To which, she snapped at me, "I can only work so fast"! I told her that I understood that, however all employees have phones on their belt and why could she not call for more help. At this point, there were about 10 people in line. Again, she snapped at me, "Is this all you have"! I responded that this was my total purchase. I completed the transaction and left. Wow! Come on Jerry's. For a business that prides itself on customer service this was a big let-down for me. Please explain, to your employees at the next staff meeting that customers, all customers, should be treated with dignity and respect. read more

The lack of communication between staff was horrible. We purchased a patio furniture set for my boyfriends mom and when we got home none of the hardware was the right size. Took it all back, and customer service said go to the garden center. So we go back there and they send us back up to customer service. Left here waiting for a long time not knowing when they are going to bring up the replacement set. To top it off no one helped my boyfriend load it and it's close to 200lbs. Also he was told he couldn't get his full military discount because it was a sale item. Please do better jerrys. read more

This place is like the Super Bowl of big box building supply stores. It's easily the size of two Home Depot's and it's locally owned (That feels like a trifecta but its only two things). I honestly can't say enough about this place. There is no tool that they don't have and they offer price matching. For two years in a row I've driven from Florence to Eugene just to catch the Jerry's Black Friday specials. I'd spend time going into detail about what they carry but they carry everything. Whoever does the customer service training at Jerry's deserves a Medal of Freedom. In fact, it almost borders on too much. We were looking for new door handles for the custom doors we ordered at Jerry's. Over the course of 15 minutes at least 7 different employees passed by and each of them asked if we needed help. I've gone back to the tile department to ask the opinion of a guy working there-for tile I ordered somewhere else-simply because he has an excellent eye for interior design. The point is, not only are they making sure you are helped but they really know their shit. You want a cold dose of reality? Shop at Jerry's twice a month--for at least a year--and then go to Home Depot one night (because Jerry's closes at 8 pm). Be prepared to spend 15 minutes at Home Depot trying to find someone to help you only to end up with a kid who has to Google the item you are asking about. The salespeople on the floor 'can be' helpful but often times you have to track one down because they are busy elsewhere in the store. We were really excited to try this place, but we didn't have a great experience. We heard on the radio that they would match competitors coupons so we took a 10% off your ENTIRE purchase coupon in. At checkout the cashier said they couldn't take the 10% off sale items, after speaking with a customer service team member she also told me she couldn't, then acted like I was stealing and insisted I spoke with a manager as if they would say the same thing. The manager of course said to just take care of it, but the team member had the worst attitude that I've interacted with in a long time. Then before we left she made sure I knew she did me a favor. On both days while checking out in the lumber yard they told me I needed to go back in and pay an additional $1.20 because when the checkout person in lumber looked at the 2x4 he charged me the wrong amount and the exact same thing happened the day before. I like Jerry's, and I like the fact that it is a local business. But what I don't like is their website. It has no capacity for looking up products to see what they do or don't carry. When I'm looking for a particular item, I can go to the websites of other stores like H.D. or Lowes, and find out if they carry it, and even whether it's currently in stock, without making what could be a wasted trip to the store. With Jerry's I cannot do that because their webside doesn't provide for looking up items. If they would upgrade their website in this manner, it would be a great store. read more

I come here for house painting supplies (though I also do so at Forrest Paint, another local business) and for whatever home improvement stuff I need... or want. It's convenient if you want a new door--you can order it and have it delivered and even installed via Jerry's. Purchased a bbq ( question employees about parts they assured us that they were there and got home to find not all parts were there, had to make a second trip ( 3hrs) to get parts hoping they might throw in something for the trouble. If I had written this review before the covid pandemic I would have said they were great but with so many lives on the line I was mortified to see how little they seemed to care about safety. I went there to check out replacement items for my bathroom because we had water damage and they don't have anything available online. The place was packed. I couldn't move without being close to someone without a mask on. I spoke with a manager about my concerns but they insisted they were doing everything necessary, even as I nearly was run into by multiple other customers. I decided that since I was there I would try to get my items anyway but just as I was about to leave another customer shoved my cart out of their way to get to an item, knocking over my cart and scraping my arm in the process. When I mentioned social distancing he said he doesn't do that. When I again spoke with a manager about this new situation, she wasn't concerned with my situation or the congestion in the store. The phrase "well, what do you want me to do about it?!" Came up several times. The answer was and is: accept some accountability and remind shoppers they need to adhere to social distancing. The manager for her part said they have 5 people doing that and make announcements overhead but in the hour plus that I was there I only saw one person whose job was helping assure safety and there was only one announcement. When my cart was pushed over not one employee came to assist. I will never go back. read more

Jerry's is a locally owned Home Improvement Center in Eugene worth supporting. Several food carts out in front of the store greet you. The place is pretty vast so should be able to find what you are looking for. This place earns it's five starts w/ it's spot on customer service. I had no less than 4 employees help me find what I was looking for. My home project was a bit complex, but eventually w/ the help of their employees found exactly what I was looking for. The only caveat is that Jerry's is located a bit out of town, but still worth the extra effort to get here for the selection, customer service, and unique shopping experience found at this local gem! read more

I took the parts I needed in. Unfortunately for me it was 730 and they close at 8. I needed a part. But I spent 15 minutes looking lost and trying to figure out where things are, every employee I looked to or walked towards for help walked away really fast. When the plumbing guy finally walked over not only did he sell me the wrong parts, I'm now sitting here without water for the whole night with kids who have no water as well, on a worknight. We're improving my Fathers home, after his passing. So we wanted to use Jerry's, instead of Home Depot. We went to get some metal braces for our home made file cabinet. The young man didn't know how to measure. We went to two stations, and even the second man, also got it wrong. We then went in for new window coverings, cellular blinds. We'd spent over $1,000 on security screens, plumbing supplies, and a couple cellular blinds, which weren't cut with the measurements we gave two employees. Both were broken after their cuts, I don't think they are trained to use the cutting program. We went Saturday, October 7th to have 10 cellular blinds cut, with two custom orders, of four blinds. We were told the 10 blinds, that only needed cutting would be ready by Saturday, in two hours. I was told I would be called. No call until Monday morning. Christina got us a better deal, for the four custom blinds. We paid for all, Monday morning over the phone. She said the 10 blinds would be done by Monday. We'd get a call, no phone call, she calls in the morning, Tuesday! She stated we ordered the 4 custom blinds. We're now going to start cutting the blinds now. It took all this time to cut the blinds, so I was going to cancel. I couldn't believe they weren't done at all. Monday we were going to put an order in to replace our old fencing. We now need dog eared fencing, and pressure treated lumber, approx $9,000.00 When my husband went to order it, he was blown off. My husband wants to order from Home Depot or Lowe's now. Please train you workers in customer service, and measurements, they also need to know your products. This has made his life more complicated going back, and forth. We still have much more to do! My husband is a retired master finish carpenter, and has built many custom homes. He's knows enough about most home improvements, to know you need training, For all your employees! read more
