I am just so disappointed in HomeDepot. The fact that they are complacent in selling this product as "soil" to customers who are trying to use actual soil, you know, dirt, is just sad. And honestly, I didn't even realize it at first I mean I have a three-year-old and I'm 50 years old and I just wasn't paying attention. I just planted my garden. And then, after all my beds were filled I was like oh my gosh, this isn't dirt. I guess I'm at fault too for not realizing it at first, but I mean it said soil. I thought I was buying dirt. Organic dirt. It's not like I can dig up all of my beds and put the mulch back in the bags and return them. So frustrating. And what a massive waste of my money not to mention, I have to buy actual dirt probably manure to mix in with this garbage so my plants have a chance that survival read more

I recently purchased an LG side by side stainless steel refrigerator from the Fort Oglethorpe Home Depot. Everything seemed fine during the purchase, but when it came to delivery, everything went terribly wrong. First of all, the text messages were sent to the wrong number, despite the fact that we had the store employee update the number in the system during the purchase. When the delivery drivers arrived we were caught off guard as we did not receive the 30 minute heads up that we were supposed to via text. When I answer the phone, one of the delivery drivers, Phillip, begins the conversation by telling me that he's driving a $15,000 truck that won't fit up the driveway and is trying to talk me into rescheduling the order. I assure him the driveway can handle the weight, and he continues to give me reasons that he cannot go up the driveway. He cites a tree limb that is nowhere near close to the path of the truck. After me practically begging him to attempt to come up the driveway, he does so with no issues but nearly hits my car. I had previously offered to move the car, and he said it was no issue. Then he gets out of the truck and starts saying this is the smallest door he has ever seen and there is no way that the refrigerator will fit through it. He then proceeds to lecture me about how I shouldn't have bought a refrigerator that is larger than my current one. I told him that I had already discussed measurements with the Home Depot employee, and he assured me it would be no problem. He then realizes there is a second door and says they may be able to get it into that door. So we walk the path from the door to the kitchen, and he explains all the things that will need to be moved in order to complete the delivery. He says I will have to move my kitchen table, couch, etc. He try's to encourage me to reschedule the delivery again. I tell him that I will move everything, and my partner and I do so in 10 minutes. I've moved large furniture into this house before, and I know that everything he said needed to be moved did not, but regardless, I move everything I can including many boxes full of items for my online store. He then comes in and tells me that he will move the refrigerator into the living room, but won't move it into the kitchen. Basically, Phillip didn't want to do this job since he first parked his truck in the middle of the street. Phillip then goes outside and continues to rant and rave to his partner about how I am not prepared for the deliver, but he doesn't realize that I am standing at the door listening. When he comes back in, I confront him about his attitude since the initial phone call, and he halfheartedly apologizes. Then he tells me, the refrigerator is damaged on the front, so he won't be bringing it into the home anyways. I said that I haven't had a refrigerator in a week and that I want to use the damaged refrigerator until a replacement is provide. Him and his partner move the refrigerator in with little difficultly aside from the issues that Phillip himself causes. His partner made several negative comments about how Phillip was handling the moving process. Phillip offers a 25% off discount if we keep the refrigerator with the damage, and they will send someone to replace the door and the back panel, sheet metal, that is damaged. At first, I tell him I want a total replacement, but then him and his partner sit in the truck outside for 10 minutes, and I decide I don't want to deal with moving all my belongings again and ask him if it is still okay to do the door replacement and back piece for 25% off. He agrees and says Home Depot will do that and that I will receive an email with the information. I told him he needed to updated the number and email address on the account, and he said he would. However that was not the case as the text went to the alternative number with a note stating that "the customer was very rude." I immediately called Home Depot after I received the screenshot of the text, and the woman who answered was not interested in hearing about my concerns and informed me that a new refrigerator would be delivered on Wednesday. I told her that it was only supposed to be the door and back piece, and she dismissed that and said that I must have misunderstood.I told her I was sure that I had not, but I would move forward with receiving the new fridge despite all the work it will take to move all the furniture and boxes again. I am very disappointed in Home Depot, and I have never had such a terrible experience with a retailer in my life. I intend to locate an Email address from someone at corporate and raise my concerns to them as well. I will update again after the final delivery of the fridge and when/if the card is refunded 25%. read more

Staff super helpful. The paint department guy acted annoyed when we went at 6 pm today. He acted very irritated that I was picking paint sample cards. I told him I bought a building I'm remodeling and needed a very large selection of colors to see what shades I liked. I have to see the paint swatches look good in the space. What has happened to customer service??? Very disappointed in my local Home Depot. I had a job replacing smoke detectors for a client and checked the Home Depot App. On the app I selected "Shop the Fort Oglethorpe location." Then I selected "in stock at store today." The first selection offered 4 Kidde hard wired detectors for $62.71. The entry indicated 7 available. Based on that option, I headed to Home Depot to pickup two packs along with some other items I needed. In the store, the smoke detector bundle was marked as $74 and change. I went to the service desk and talked with a young man who said "that is only if you order online." I showed him the app and pointed out that I had selected his store and the in stock option and asked him to honor the price. He told me that his manager's policy was not to match online pricing. I was not asking him to match a competitor but to match his own company's pricing. He became indignant like I was trying to get over on him or something. Twice I had to ask for his manager. Finally the young man summoned the general manager(GM). Unfortunately, I did not get his name. The GM said he could not match the price and that was for online ordering only. Again I went through my spiel that it was their app I relied on when deciding where to get the detectors. The man had no customer service skills. No apologies, no attempt to understand my viewpoint, and no attempt to satisfy a disgruntled customer. When I pushed back harder he relented and said "just this time I will honor that for one of the bundles but not the other." In frustration, I told him, "well, you just lost my business." Still no apology or any other indication that he gave a crap. After that I went to Lowe's and picked up smoke detectors and my other items. In fact I spent over $250 there. Until now, I have preferred Home Depot to Lowe's. Over the years, I have spent a lot of money there. There are several team members there that I have gotten to know whom I really appreciate so this makes me sad that the GM has soured my opinion of Home Depot. I typically don't write reviews on big box stores or nationally known franchises, but in this case I am based on the help from one of the employees, Ken. First,I never expect quality customer service (when walking around in the store) at HD or Lowes; they are too big and never have enough employees on the floor to handle all the customer support. You can walk aimlessly for a long time until you find someone who works there to ask for help. You usually have to catch them as they move through the store. I am making an exception and writing this review only because of Ken, who did not work in appliances but went out of his way to help me. He took me to the mini fridge section and spent a lot of time helping me find what I needed. THANKS Ken. I don't know why these big box stores don't have electronic stations throughout the store where you can just type in what you are looking for and gives you the location and maybe if it is in stock (i.e. for bigger items). read more

Great Home Depot! The older gentleman in the paint department is great! Knowledgeable and professional with some good friendly personality too! The pro desk here always gets you taken care of no matter how busy they are. Both of the main girls and the 2 guys here are all great. The guy in electrical always has good advice for what you need and helps find things! The girl from Colorado at the returns/service desk is always great to work with and friendly! Worst customer service I've ever experienced. After delivery of a severely damaged appliance I called the store to speak with a manager. Was told he was busy but would call in 20 minutes. An hour later I called back and the chippy gal with a bad attitude told me the manager wasn't available. I asked to speak with an assistant manager, then was put on hold and hung up on. Tried a third time to call and no one picked up. Fourth time got the same rude CSR who tried to give me more attitude. I finally was fed up and called corporate and canceled my entire $2700 order. Generally like this store. But do not ever order an appliance to be delivered by their hokey delivery service. Had to block an airbnb off from being rented 3 times so far because they tell me its going to be delivered and then at the very end of the day, after altering my schedule and losing money, they simply don't show up. After 7pm, I'm told it will be Monday. Its on the truck, its been on the truck all day but 3 reschedules now and still no appliances. It seems like they really don't care at all. read more

My husband and I visited the location in Fort Oglethorpe GA on 4-15-2020. We went to price washers. V.A. HERNANDEZ was the Appliance Specialist that assisted us. We mentioned to her the reason we were shopping for a new washer ( the door will not lock all the time) she suggested we buy a replacement switch before we invested in a new washer. She even looked up the part # and gave us a website to visit for the part and then said try amazon they may even be cheaper. I have watched several U tube videos on installing the new part and it seems to be so simple as Mrs. Hernandez had told us. This associated could have made a large sale, but instead she made a suggestion to help us save money. She should be recognized by the store management and give high praises. I went to Home Depot 3 weeks ago and bought laminate for my house. Cyn in flooring helped me with the purchase and I bought 57 boxes of the Cambridge gray laminate. I asked her for the time frame and she said 5 to 7 days. I said that was fine as I had not hired a contractor yet . 10 days passed and I had not heard from the store yet. I called and was left on hold for 10 minutes with no answer. I went back to the store to inquire if the order was in and spoke to Cyn again. She said only 37 of the boxes were there. She said she would reorder the extra 20 I had paid for and said another week at the most. I got an email from Home Depot on Wednesday saying my full order was in 57 boxes of laminate. I went into the store yesterday at 6:30 am and spoke with an associate in delivery that said I needed to go to returns to place an order. The lady in returns took my information and said their computers were down. She said she would call me in a few hours. I hadn't heard from her by noon so I called and she said she had been busy and took my information again and I paid for a delivery for Saturday and paid extra to have the boxes brought into the house. I got up this morning and called to check on an estimated time for delivery today and spoke to Tim. He said he couldn't give me an estimate but guessed it would be before noon. It was at that point that he told me it was only for a partial order. Even though I got an email saying the full order that was in 57 boxes it was only for the 37. I asked what happened to the other 20. He said he wasn't sure. He offered to call other stores and see if they could find 20 boxes to complete the order. I expressed my disappointment but said ok. The delivery driver called an hour later and said he would be there in a few minutes and let me know he would only drop off at the curb . I explained I had paid extra to have it brought into the house. He said he spoke to Tim and was assured it was curbside only and he wasn't going to bring it into the house. At that point I said just bring it back to the store. I drove to Home Depot and spoke to Steve in returns and said at this point I just wanted a full refund. He said ok and offered to process the return before he handed my receipts to Tim from delivery and it took another 45 minutes to process the refund and then it was only partial as he was not able to process the delivery refund or the flooring estimate for some reason. He involved another associate V.A. who offered to call me when it was done. Not sure where everything went wrong here . Extremely disappointed as I loved the flooring and am now back to step one after hiring a contractor and setting a date based on Home Depot's promise the shipment was finally in. The people there were nice. No jerks. Just very poor follow thru and need better training and buy in to making the home improvement experience a wow instead of a ehh. Overall I would not recommend this Home Depot for any major projects at this time. read more

Do not waste time buying appliances at HD, the delivery service is a nightmare, and NO one at HD will help resolve the issues. The corporate help line is ineffectual and unwilling. Three cancelled delivery dates, conflicting information, incorrect information, and no delivery. The Hixson, TN store does not help, no one to help resolve the issue. My husband and I had been searching for a particular outside door that was only in-stock at a few local Home Depots. The other ones in the area were scratched, so we were desperate that this one would have the correct one. It was about to storm that night so we had to be quick. The sales professional, Jacob, helped us out so much! He took his time and retrieved the door for us without a scratch. We now love our new door. We also had a gentleman help load it for us. I purchased an oven from Home Depot. Found out that no matter the reason Home Depot does not do refunds for appliances. If the appliance is damaged you have to work with the manufacture to get it repaired / replaced. If you are dissatisfied for any reason you are stuck with the appliance. Home Depot needs to go out of Business. They Suck and this is why I always shop at LOWES. read more

We couldn't find the plumbing part for which we were looking. A sales assistant helped us and told us how sorry he was for not having the part. He suggested another department across the store. Extremely disappointing customer service. They refused to utilize my coupons... manager (she) has a nasty attitude, and they have single handedly made my front porch addition a night mare. I asked them to remove the first quote for lumber ...provided them with a brand new lumber list.... due to the fact I changed the porch size.. come to find out after having made several trips and enlisting in friends to help haul all this wood... and unload all this wood... my contractor said it was entirely too much wood... then he figured out they had not removed the first quote.... I hauled enough wood for two porches instead of one... Had to get help to load all the extra wood back... several trips again ... This is the short version of the last few days of events... there was wood on my haul that was not on either lumber list... and some that were on the list were not in my haul.... this has caused me ALOT of extra trips, time, chaos, wear and tare on my trailer, extra money for help, and stress... I cannot and will not spend my precious time and hard earned money in a store that has no respect, concern or care for their customers.... this will not happen to me again because I will stick with Lowes!! read more

I love the Home Depot in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. Everyone there is so helpful and have so much information regarding my home needs. I always leave there feeling better than I did when I went in to the store. They provide fast, friendly, and understanding service. You feel as if you were talking to a good friend. I can even explain what I need using words like "doo-hickey" and "thingamajig". For example, 'You know that little doo-hickey that makes the thingamajig in the sink go up and down'. Have tried twice to get their heat and air contractors to get in touch with me to replace my package unit. Have never ever heard from their actual contractors. The first time, HD was changing companies, so I did hear from HD at least. Absolutely nothing the second time, it's been about 2 weeks now. read more
