Two days in a row I went to this Home Depot to purchase items for a project I was working on at home. Both days I mentioned I was a veteran, showed my ID, and the store associates accessed their system and gave me the veteran discount. Today I go to the same Home Depot, loaded my cart with over $200 in materials, called over the associate to get my veteran discount. She REFUSED unless I get set up in their system. I explained to her that I didn't want to be set up in their system and the two prior days associates gave me the discount. She still REFUSED stating that the other associates did it wrong. So instead of satisfying the customer she wished to debate the customer, firm in her resolve that I not get the discount. End result...I went to the LOWE'S store less than half mile down Franklin. Furthermore I will continue to LOWE'S since they give a veteran's discount without being in their system. read more

I bought some fence online and sit on it a couple of days until i had time to install it. I bought 4 rolls and after loading them on the truck and it seemed that two of them were a little lighter than the other two. Yes, they were visually two smaller rolls. So i weighted them and there was a difference of 3 LB from the bigger rolls. I also noticed the two smaller rolls were in different bags and buttoned up differently. So it was obvious i had two rolls of fence that had been partially used and returned and had been out for resale like they were new. So i returned them and told the lady at the counter Karl that two of the rolls were former returns. She said no they came straight from the warehouse. Well............ There was 270 rolls in stock. So i should have received all 4 as one shipment. But i didn't. I also have pictures to prove this if anyone is interested. I told the shady lady that this happens all the time Home Depot accepts returns and does not inspect the items and puts them back in stock for the next victim!!! You could tell she could care less. I had a pleasant experience here. My parents ordered and paid for a garage door opener from another state. I was able to pick it up both openers within the next hour. When I walked in, I headed straight to the customer service desk. They had both openers behind the desk. I then paid for the kits and the installation which was on special for $99. The lady that was helping me was super nice, although she did have some trouble figuring out how to charge me. She called the gentleman in the department to figure out how to set up the charge and within minutes I was making my way out of the door. Within about 2-3 business days, someone called to schedule the installation which went smooth. read more

Poor management! Irresponsible supervision at customer service desk. Unfriendly atmosphere. Wouldn't recommend to an animal

Purchased flooring for a home that I purchased last year. I have installed floors in two of my previous homes and never had an issue. Installed the floors and they began to break apart. Went back to Home Depot and was told that I would need to purchase the floors again because they would not send an installer to make repairs to a floor that was not laid professionally. So I purchased all new floors, had a "professional" from Romanoff Renovations install them. The installer told me the issue was that some of my subflooring was rotting and that he would make all the repairs for an additional $1400. I paid him and he completed the work. A few months later the floors are breaking apart again, contacted Home Depot, they sent the installer's manager to my home who then said I had foundation issues.... I just bought this house and had all inspections completed.... So my realtor hires a structural engineer to come inspect my home and guess what?!? No foundation issues, just some poorly performed subflooring repairs!!! So back to Home Depot again.... They refund me the $1400 but only are willing to have their installer make repairs after I repair the subflooring that their installer was supposed to repair!!! So I go to the BBB and Home Depot customer service contacts me, it is a back and forth with them saying their installer just leveled the floor until I sent them text messages showing the conversation. They even sent me an email admitting that their installer was not licensed to make the repairs to the subfloor. Now they want to refund my money and essentially divorce me as a customer!!! This does not cover the damage that has been done because of the installers poor work!!! read more

What an absolute shit show. We stood in the refrigerator section for 45 minutes waiting for someone to help us, and every time we asked someone for help they came up with excuses or were just rude nasty people. I mean this woman, I didn't catch her name but the cards on her desk said Voigt acted like it was a big deal that I interrupted for help. I mean I had been standing in the same spot for 45 minutes, what the fuck did you think I was doing? Pilates? And her and the other person skipped over me twice for people that just walked in the door. Not to mention that everytime I asked a question they acted like it was a big fucking deal. The lady sighed, rolled her eyes and threw her hands up several times. I mean seriously who the fuck does that? No compassion or empathy or apologies, intact she tried to blame it on me that it took so long as if she wasn't a major cunt the last time I tried to ask her something. Then I tell her we plan on taking the fridge with us but need to see about renting a truck first and she makes a big fucking deal out of like I'm inconveniencing her. There were more employees than customers in the store and none of them know a thing about customer service. So I walk to up "customer service" (what a joke) counter and asked a girl name Brandy about renting a truck. He were go with another sigh/eyeroll and if it was a big inconvenience that she actually had to do something. Instead of explaining the process to me she acted perturbed that I didn't already look it up all online. Then gave me some big scpheiel about needing a reservation. Okay? Well let's make one now then what the fuck did you think I was there for. Finally get my truck(she didn't bother to check it for damage/odo/fuel) glad I took pictures. Go outside to load up the truck, and the people trying to load it tried talking shit(mainly voigt again) about me being an idiot and renting to short height a truck..... yet none of them bothered to lift up the ramp to the top step of the truck...... then we get the fridge in, the fridge weighs a couple thousand pounds and I only had to travel 5 miles no highway so I opted out of strapping it down, here we go will Voigt throwing her hands up in the air. How utterly disgustingly unprofessional. 45 minutes to an hour later come back to turn in truck. Speak with Barbara, let her know I forgot paperwork in car, she sighs, rolls her eyes, and shakes her head like it was a big deal(yet the rude ass was able to find it in the system in under a minute with they key) then here comes Brandy again and she goes to check in truck and tried to charge me for an extra 140 miles. Luckily I took those photos right? But come in I wasn't even gone an hour. No common sense. Then her and Barbara had the nerve to run their mouths like I couldn't hear them behind the plexiglass. After a thoroughly frustrating trip to the Franklin Blvd Lowe's where we left with no items we went to the Franklin Blvd Home Depot. This store has friendly, helpful employees. The store is clean and organized which is refreshing after the disaster at Lowe's. There are not enough good things to say about this store. I definitely recommend Home Depot over Lowe's if you are in Gastonia!!! Stay clear of Lowe's!!! Employees at this Home Depot are so much nicer and obviously take pride in their customer service!!!! read more

This absolutely one of the worst Big Box Stores. I will always prefer the other Blue Store over Home Depot. Another terrible experience this morning dealing with an employee who continued to get smart with me and showed zero empathy. For starters why cant you purchase mulch online?? I had to go in the store and purchase the mulch and then the woman said that they didnt have anyone to get it so I would have to get it my self. Mind yo,u this was said with attitude. So then she lied and said I would have to order the mulch online and then someone can load it for me. I politely told her that is not an option on the website. After that she abruptly said "Well sir...there is no one to help you". What kind of business is this?? I had already purchased the mulch with her and when I asked her if there was estimate on time she again abruptly stated that "I dont know...they are busy with something else". At that point I was fed up and cancelled my order...which of course she was so happy to do. I literally went down the street to the "Blue Store" and was literally in and out in 15 min. The workers were extremely helpful and timely. Home Depot...you have a lot of work to do because what just took place isn't cutting it. You could literally have the same item as other stores for cheaper and I still wouldn't purchase it. read more

Today, Home Depot delivered my new GE Electric Range as promised on September 26th. The delivery crew was absolutely wonderful. They installed a bracket to keep the range from tipping over, carried in the range on straps, plugged in the range and put it in place. Then one of the crew turned on all the burners to make certain they came on, set the clock and gave a brief instruction for use. Both gentlemen could not have been more polite, kind and considerate. I think this is the best purchase and delivery experience I have ever had. Thank you Home Depot, Salesman and Delivery Crew. read more

No one takes ownership of an issue, it's all passed around to another department. No way to call for help to a particular department. I've been waiting for 30 mins to get a key cut. All of these associates walk right past me and none of them have offered to help. Am I invisible? The two people I have spoken to are clueless and lost. I would rate lower if possible. read more

I purchased a riding lawn mower from Gastonia store location. At first they wanted to charge me $79 to deliver it and when I pointed out they were advertising "Free Delivery", they said "yeah I guess we are". The model I wanted wasn't assembled so I opted to buy another one that was to be delivered the following day (6am-7pm)- they could't tell me when unless I paid extra for specific timeframe. Fast forward as I have been waiting all day and decided to call at 5pm to get an update... waited on hold for over 30 minutes and when someone finally answered they put me back on hold - WTF? When someone else answered, she told me the same spiel with delivery time, now up to 8pm... ok so I wait. i get a callback from the store saying the delivery date was for the following week! Needless to say i am going up there in person to give them a piece of my mind and get a refund! read more

I placed a special order for a window on June 3, 2020. The order form showed the expected arrival date in the store as July 3, 2020. I called the store on July 7, 2020, gave the employee my order number 3 times but she could not find it. She then found it using my name at which point she said the new, expected arrival date will be July 16, 2020. I asked why I wasn't notified of the revised date but she could not tell me. read more

Purchased a refrigerator on 9/1/18 during Labor Day sale. Promised delivery 9/4/18, as my refrigerator is dying....it is 9/4/18 and no one called this morning, so I called Home Depot and was given a delivery company phone number. Called delivery company....no record of my delivery....they could come OCTOBER 2nd!!! To add to injury, Pam, the service manager if the delivery company that Home Depot contracts with, had an incredibly poor attitude towards me. Called Home Depot back...they were nice, but couldn't do anything. I cancelled my order this morning...I can't see having such a poor delivery company come into my home (in scheduling and in terms of having any class...yes, a delivery company can have class, too). Okay so normally I hear good things about home depot and how helpful everyone is. Normally I go to Lowe's if I want to be ignored (ouch! sorry Lowe's). There was a specific product that I wanted. Checked online first and saw they had 17 in stock. The associate watching the department had no idea what the product was and could not find it; he didn't really try that hard either, or check on the stock number. There was noone at a register up front at first for other items; a female employee was running around and griping about being short handed and "who was going to run the register?". Flash forward one week - I had to actually order it online and have someone bring it to the service desk for pick up to have someone find it. Upon pickup, I was promptly ignored by the service desk associate who was on the phone for 5 minutes. Someone else finally noticed I neede help and came over. Ugh=will not be back to this location. Have had pleasant experiences at some HD locations but not this one. read more

Recently bought a Brinly broadcast spreader to pull behind my lawn tractor/mower. Got a reasonable price plus Home Depot assembled the thing saving me a lot of time and aggravation. Got it home with some difficulty ( it poorly fit in my compact SUV) and when I went to use it several days later it would not spread the fertilizer. IT WAS PUT TOGETHER INCORRECTLY! Called HD and they said to bring it back and they would reassemble it. I did just that, again with difficulty. A few days later they called me and told me the spreader had been reassembled and that I could come and pick it up. I explained that transporting this thing was difficult for me and that I thought that since it was their fault that reassembly was necessary that they should bring it back to me. To make a long story short they agreed with me and waived the normal $79 delivery charge. They delivered my spreader today and all seems to be just fine. I believe that this is very good customer service and I will definitely give HD my business in the future. read more

I just had a great experience buying an over the range microwave. They had the lowest price on this particular microwave and the extended warranty was very reasonable. HH Gregg wanted $149 to have it installed and Lowe's wanted $99. I'm only paying $59 installation with free delivery and they will haul away my broken microwave too! I definitely got the best deal. They made my purchase very simple and easy. They even keep a copy of my warranty for 7 years incase I lose my copy. read more

I received poor delivery service and as a result damaged appliances. I purchased a Samsung Appliance Suite on November 10, 2018 for delivery November 16, 2018. On the date of delivery the delivery company (R & D Delivery) installed the refrigerator, range and microwave within less than an hour. When they left, I had a 12 inch dent across my refrigerator doors, drywall covering my granite countertops and range (from the install of the microwave) and plastic protruding from each side of my range; the plastic was left on the range and still protrudes. In my driveway were five (5) nuts and bolts as well as Styrofoam from the appliances. Home Depot has explained R&D Delivery is a contracted delivery company and apologized for my experience. An apology does not suffice for the two (2) additional service calls from Samsung to fix my refrigerator door nor fix the plastic that still protrudes from both sides of my range. The delivery company was substandard and unacceptable. I received financial compensation from Samsung, who replaced the two (2) dented refrigerator doors but when I requested Home Depot compensate the poor service and necessary clean up of my home after the delivery, I received 33% of my request from Home Depot and 38% from R&D Delivery. In my opinion, Home Depot should have sought compensation from R&D Delivery and provided my requested refund due to poor service. R&D Delivery represents Home Depot as a contracted delivery company. In hindsight and moving forward, I will only purchase with Lowes because Lowes employees deliver their products and take ownership of their service. read more

I'm so disappointed with the staff at the Gastonia, NC location (#3606). I arrived at 7:56 tonight to purchase a grill. I knew exactly which one I wanted after researching them online, so it would've been a quick purchase. I was excited to have my husband put it together tonight before he leaves out of town for the next week, but I did not get that opportunity. Yes, I'm aware that the location closes at 8:00PM tonight, but as I said, I knew exactly what I was getting. There was a staff member outside who politely reminded me that they will close soon, I told him that it was not a problem, I knew exactly what I'm getting. He said okay. After I walked into the UNLOCKED door, an older, female employee ran over from the customer service desk and told me they were closed and I could not come in. I told her that the guy outside didn't say you were closed and that it is still not quite 8:00 yet. Her reply to me was that it didn't matter because they were already closing their registers so I couldn't buy anything anyway. While I was extremely irritated, I didn't want to sit there and argue with this employee and so I just left as she was forcing me to do. I see a few problems here- 1) How can you close a store before closing time? Yes, I know it's only 4 minutes, but still, it wasn't closed. The door was even still open and functioning. 2) How do you shut down your registrars when there are still other patrons in the store? Do you just tell them tough luck, you weren't checked out in time? 3) Clearly, you aren't going to close the resisters while there are still people in the store, so this lady LIED to me. Sure, it may have been an easy answer and a way to force me to leave, but the point is, it is completely UNACCEPTABLE to lie to a customer. It seems to me that this employee needs some additional training or the store in general needs to review it's closing procedures and customer service policies. read more

I spent over $5000 on Fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove, high end Samsung. Fridge went out after 4 months, called HD, they told me not our issue call Samsung. Samsung took over 2 weeks to come out, asked HD if they could help get it repaired again told they can do nothing. Asked for refund on all food that had to be thrown out again, not their problem. Finally got Samsung they needed itemized list of all food, receipt from repair and now bill of sale to prove I bough the fridge they fixed. HD of course can't help unless I can come in the store with the card I used. Samsung and HD your customer service after the big purchase sucks. I will not make large purchases from HD and will never buy Samsung again. read more

I started a remodel of 3 bathrooms in June 2015. I ordered all three of my custom bathroom countertops online via Home Depot/St Paul, OR Woodcrafters Home Products from Weslaco Texas is actually where they came from. My first countertop for the master bath I received and installed no problem. My nightmare began after that when I decided to order 2 others for my hall bath and half bath. I ordered them both together and only received one. They said it got lost in shipment! The one I did receive had a crack in it and the side splash was discolored. The box had no damage to it and my contractor did not see it until the day he was to install it. So I reordered both of them and waited another 3 weeks. I received both via UPS and the day my contractor was to install them we find that one is broken to pieces in the box and the other has very clear discoloration on the side splash, again!!! This company really needs to get their act together on checking product before it is shipped and also using a more reliable delivery service that understands what fragile means! I give this company a minus ten. read more
