Home Depot in my opinion no longer has good customer service. I recently wanted to exchange a gift, but was denied with no reason given except a web site to contact. I contacted that website and all it had was the same transaction. I called HD customer service and was given a number to call. Turns out it was the same outfit called the retail equation! Sort of like contacting most politicians and being told they will keep your thoughts in m ind. If Home Depot is attempting to drive away customers, I can guarantee them they have succeeded in this case! There are plenty of other places that will accept my business. read more

I am so disappointed that Appleton's Home Depot does not require it's employees or customers to wear facemasks during this pandemic. If Home Depot was really concerned about the safety and health of their employees and customers they would require everyone to wear a facemask when entering their store. If anything, at least put up signage asking people to be respectful of others and wear a facemask. I failed to see anyone washing down the handles of carts their customers use or any other high touch areas. It's apparent Home Depot has a lack of consideration for the health of both their customers and employees. This concerns me especially since so many of their customers are over 50 years of age. I was also disappointed that there were too few employees to help me find the items I needed. The employees I did find had no idea where my items could be found or even if they were in stock. Shopping here was both frustrating and unhealthy. read more

We purchased a Fridgedare freezer from this place. Two days after we received it we noticed that it was ICING (not just freezing) up. The door and food was getting ice all over it. We noticed that the seal on the door was open about 1/64th of an inch. I called Home depot to report the issue and after talking to SEVERAL people, I was told that "I" would have to contact Fridgedare myself. I called Fridgedare and was told that they would have someone come out. I got a call from Howie Voight informing me that they wouldn't be able to come out for almost two weeks. After many phone calls and talking to several people, Josh agreed to bring a loaner out. The loner freezer was delivered the next day. The young man informed me that this was from their break room. It was very small and about 1/3 the size of the freezer we purchased. We had to rely on a neighbor to let us use their freezer to prevent spoilage of our food. Two different people came out two different times to fix the door. The first one didn't work. We would NEVER RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING HOME DEPOT. Customer service was horrible as they passed complaints on to several different people. The repair service Howie Voight was equally horrible due to the timeframe of getting it repaired. This was a horrible experience as my husband had just came home from the hospital after having surgery. We had to rely on neighbors to help with ice packs for his knee. I ordered a hybrid mower off their Home Depots website, it arrived without the two 4.0 AH batteries that were advertised. I called their help line, after over an hour on hold they said I had to call Ryobi (the manufacturer of the mower), I then called Ryobi and after another hour hold they said I had to go in to my local Home Depot. I went in, and they said they couldn't help and I had to call Ryobi again. I did so, and Ryobi said they weren't allowed to ship batteries (which doesn't make sense as the product is supposed to be shipped with batteries), and I'd just have to return the mower and reorder the product. I returned the mower alright, and took my money to the local Fleet Farm instead. read more

When I drove the 60 miles to get there I got my cabinets home my one cabinet looked like someone had hit it with a forklift. i called and spoke to 3 different people about returning the cabinet and they wanted me to pay more for shipping on a new cabinet but was first told they would order a new one and id receive a call when it came in...waited 2weeks to call and see if the new cabinet was in and was told whoever told me that was wrong and they couldn't do that until I paid the shipping on the item again!!! on an item I did not damage so now I sit here with a junked up pos cabinet ...this place is a joke. read more

Update: So the day finally comes when Home Depot delivers the door andddd you guessed it - the door was damaged :( Mind you we placed our order in September. The latch where the door was supposed to lock was chipped and broken. The delivery guy said it was "probably due to the fact that the door was sitting on the truck for a week and a half because there wasn't a time slot for installation" which normally wouldn't have been a problem aside from the fact that I had called asking about an expected delivery date a few days prior (for the third time) to which the manager responded that they were still waiting for the door to come to the store. Being fed up with the untimely timeline as well as terrible customer service, we decided to just go back to the store and cancel our order. Upon doing so, we received a very insincere apology however they did give us our money back. Ultimately, we are severely disappointed and will not be returning for any other projects/appliances/etc. read more

I recently went to make my usual $100 payment on my Home Depot credit card on 4/14 and somehow it paid the entire balance. I called immediately (on 4/15) and everyone was super nice, said it happens. Said if I got a statement from my bank faxed over to Home Depot that they would be able to return my money (minus the $100 I meant to pay). I asked how long and the guy said if I faxed over the bank info it goes pretty quickly. I patiently waited 7 business days before calling back to get an update. That brings us to today, the first lady was nice and polite, however she told me that they just received the fax today (bullshit considering I got a fax received confirmation on 4/15) and it would take 25-30 business days to process. I told her that was unacceptable, she said I would need to speak to the claims dept. Was transferred there, and while the guy was polite he offered zero solutions. Basically said I was SOL and said that's the policy and there was nothing I could do. I dont make enough money to be short $1000 in my bank for a week, let alone a month and a half. I frequent their store regularly, have spent several thousand dollars at their store in the past year and much prefer them over Lowe's/Menards. But I'm afraid that this has left a very sour taste in my mouth and if no help is offered then I won't step foot in another HD store again. read more

Excellent Guest Service!!! I came in to pick up a basement door that I had custom ordered for my home, which I just recently sold and am closing on tomorrow morning. Time was crucial. Tony H. and Dan G. went the extra mile and actually helped me install the brackets onto the door, and even offered me a helping hand moving the door from the store and into my vehicle. Don't use Home Depot's pick up service. They tout it as order, and have your order packed for pick up. I had to pack my own each time I went to Home Depot. To make matters worse, I parked my vehicle in the area where you normally pick up home/garden products and when took time to pull and pack my order, a Home Depot person wanted my vehicle moved adding insult to injury. read more

She was rude and unhelpful. While helping us, she had 2 other side conversations going on. The stove we wanted was out of stock and on sale. The sale ended that day. She told us "there is nothing I can do, you'll have to buy it full price". Well Menards and Lowes offers rainchecks so our business will go there. Ordered carpet from this location and since they were the ones installing the carpet I asked if the installers were insured and if they were home depot employees or contractors not that it mattered if were contractors or real employees just so they were insured and were backed by home depot the guy who sold us the carpet said no these ppl are actually home depot employees great....skip ahead to installation day weird make shift van pulls up three guys come out that are not affiliated with home depot it was a company called crew2 that they contract out what ever as long as they know what they are doing only one spoke English still whatever as long as I can communicate with one they spend the whole day installing we ordered carpet for two rooms and our whole basement so pretty big job they came at 7am finished at 3:30pm they left I looked around and was satisfied skip ahead 4 days later I told my husband to go in the basement and get some frozen hamburger from our freezer upon opening the freezer my husband was in shock all of our meat was thawed blood dripping every where mind you we just bought a 1/2 cow this past summer so this freezer was full of meat all of it was gone ruined the smell was horrible my husband looked at what might be the problem the freezer was plugged in off subject my husband was ice fishing I was out of town so we hadn't gone down to get meat all weekend back to story the freezer was plugged in so my husband looked then at the electrical breaker sure enough one breaker was popped the one connected to the freezer the only thing that could have happened is the tools they were using short circuit our outlet .... we called the regional manager called the customer service management they said take pictures list what went bad we did just that they seemed to be working with us its been a month today we got a call that we don't have proof that they did this so they can't do anything for us ....sad I trusted home depot that why we choose them this shocks me that they do not back up their customers why would just one outlet go out? All they had to do was tell us the outlet short circuited that day and everything would have been fine now the meat is lost now my hard earned money I spent on 1/2 a cow is gone 1,300 $ makes me think these guys could have did anything they wanted and because I didn't have proof im shit out of luck nice home depot nice i just want my meat back I'm not asking for anything else just my meat back they can't do that if I could do negative stars read more
