I would give a zero star but that is not an option. I went into the store with my husband looking for specific items and we went an olderish store clerk who gave us bad information ultimately making us buy products we didn't need. Either she scammed us into getting $ from us or she was not knowledgeable. We went a few days later to get a grill and after purchasing the grill the store never went to get the item from the shelf for us. I went and purchased bricks to make a fire ring at my new home in Grand Rapids, MN. After my purchase I went down to L and M Fleet supply less than a mile down the road and as I walked in there was a display outside with the same exact bricks for 0.74 cents less than I paid at the Home Depot. I called the Home Depot and asked them if they did price matching and they said no. It was a seventeen dollar difference. What a very rotten deal that is. I understand times are hard. We have shopped Home Depot for years for so many cabin projects. We have always found the staff to be helpful and well informed. Often they will steer us to a comparable yet cheaper in store option. I do miss the popcorn but have always appreciated the service in Grand Rapids. read more

They're often missing things I would expect them to have--latest example, flooring nails. That's just standard stuff. They're often short on options and often out of stock. Two years ago they screwed up almost every custom order we put in. We had a volunteer spend hours there trying to sort what we received, what we ordered, what they had, and what we were missing. Disaster. They get two extra stars for being there because at least they have a store here. If Menards was here I'd go there, BUT THEY AREN'T! read more

Today, I went to my local Home Depot to research options for pet fencing. An employee, Phil, asked if he could assist me, and spent all the time needed to answer questions about the products. I sure appreciates his knowledgeable input, and kind demeanor. I will definitely heard back to Home Depot when I am ready to purchase the fencing or other home project items. read more

Having shopped at Home Depots in MN, AZ and WA and being very pleased with every experience I am at a loss for words to describe how really bad the Grand Rapids, MN store compares........last time i was there (a few weeks ago) not only would no one assist me find an item i was looking for but one guy even suggested that I go to one of their competitors down the road (L&M) rather than get off his duff and actually help....this behavior has been the norm in my experience over the years and is even worse lately. It is so puzzling that I actually wrote a letter to Home Depot head office but never heard back from anyone. Anyway I recommend Home Depot wherever I am in the world with the notable exception of the Grand Rapids, MN store which seems to be rotten to the core. read more
