Needed a last-minute key made and this location was the closest place to have this done quickly. I walked in, headed straight for the aisles. Though I wasn't for sure where the keys are made. Within seconds, I spotted the kiosk placed near the self-checkout area. I didn't feel as if I was blocking anything or in the way of the walkways. I appreciate the easy path to finding it. Once there, the on screen instructions will guide you through the process. The price was $5.34 with tax. Note that this price was for a house key. Prices may vary for car keys and other types of keys. The entire process felt like a couple of minutes, tops. Overall, the 1-minute key machine served its purpose and saved the day! I was even offered a free 2nd key during my checkout process. I did not receive a physical receipt but they will email one after. I'll be back to gather my gardening supplies later this month. I usually shop here for my home plants and outdoor garden activities. Glad I could accomplish a last minute errand. I sincerely appreciate & reqularly shop at Home Depot. For years, it has been my favorite BBS. As a Retired Marine, when I show my military ID, I normally I receive a friendly smile & a respectful thank you for your service. To my surprise, the store wasn't busy this December afternoon. Only one full service checkout register was open, Given no other patrons were in sight, one register was ok. Although the register open light was lit, there was no checkout clerk at the register. About 10' away stood four young ladies dressed as HD Checkout Clerks. They were laughing, smiling & talking to one another. I stood at the register in plain view, with no one at any other nearby registers. My hands were full of merchandise. Despite my close proximity to the preoccupied young employees, I felt invisible. Finally, an employee yelled out a name & exclaimed "you have a customer". It was only then, one of the four young ladies came to wait on me. Despite their smiles & laughter with one another, I received no normal friendly smile or greeting or when I showed my military ID, no thank you for your service. I was surprised because they were so cordial to one another. As a 25 year service member, I routinely remind those friendly, thankful & respectful to me, that I appreciate their service as well. Before leaving with my case of paper towels & electrical box, I was asked if I would like a bag. I replied, no thank you & have a nice evening. I'm now a small local business owner. In business, both customers & employees may be the best or worse advertisement and/or make the difference between good relationships & successful business. Not feeling well, on prednisone that makes me really really irritable, and a Home Depot pro-contractor (TJ) calling me a crazy bitch and hanging up on me after explaining that a Home Depot sales rep put me in for a pro-contractor referral by mistake equals a really bad Tuesday so far! And I did the one thing I hate the most, called to complain to Home Depot and lost my temper, like really lost it! The MOD acted like she didn't know what she was doing and said she'd get me to someone who could handle my complaint, that person was just an associate that works in the door and window department. Seriously.....she should have owned my complaint and took care of me! If it wasn't for Home Depot's warranty on our front door and storm door I would cancel the install and find someone else to install the doors, which I'm still considering I will never ever use Home Depot for anything like this again! read more

For the past 2 months, I have been trying to get my battery replaced for a Ryobi electric string trimmer. Let's just say it hasn't been resolved until I met Rosa, who handled my issue like a pro! Today was the day that I have had enough with the run around, and was ready to give everybody the business, as customer service kept placing me on hold for 30 minutes plus. While on hold I decided to drive to my local store where I spoke to 3 friendly staff members who tried and were empathic to my situation. Long story longer, we called 2 different stores, and submitted a claim that showed that I am covered. The claim didn't submit, and I am still waiting to get my battery replaced. Then Rosa let me know that she was able to get some traction, and to visit another store to get my issue resolved. Please recognize Ms. Rosa at the S. Elm-Eugene store at a manager above all others that will get the job done! She was a pleasure to work with. Now I am headed to get my battery replaced. I spent $40 on 2 adjustable heat deflector shield replacements for my grill 2 weeks ago at Home Depot on Elm Eugene, south of Greensboro. That's $20 a piece for something that doesn't have $10 worth of metal in the product. Today when I got ready to install them, I discovered one of the deflectors is missing the 2 wing nuts and bolts required to make them usable. Home Depot effectively stole $20 from me. I can't take the product back -- I've already thrown away the receipt. Now I have to find a hardware store I can trust that will sell me the wing nuts. That means another trip to another store, wasting 1/2 a day on a task that should have taken roughly 15 mins. to complete. I recommend NO ONE shop at this crooked company. read more

Just left this location. Both Mike and Jim were very helpful with helping my fiance and I find the materials we needed to build a backdrop for our wedding! Mike helped us build a prototype right in the aisle and Jim made it his personal mission to help us locate more of a item we needed. I will return if only just to say hey to them lol. read more

I paid for and scheduled carpet installation for my rental home in Greensboro. It was cancelled from the installer the first time due to an emergency and when I tried to reschedule on the day they suggested, there were no appointments available. I was able to finally schedule an appt for the following Monday and when they called to come by, they did not bother to stay 10 minutes until my property manager arrived on site to let them in and said I needed to reschedule again! Considering that I don't live at the house and rely on my property management company to help me out, I feel like the Home Depot carpet installers were really inconsiderate and unreliable. I will never use them for any kind of service for my rental home or main home ever again! read more

Typical Home Depot store as far as design and content. The staff were friendly. The building is kind of old looking, but they kept it clean. Parking is very good. The entry into the lot is a little tricky but manageable. The area of town is a little suspect so I'd advise going here during the day, not sure about being there too late at night. I read a review posted by Nikkita. I feel that she is correct when she says Home Depot is lacking the customer service department. I prefer Lowe's. My husband and I went to Home Depot on Brassfield Rd in Greensboro, NC (off Battleground Ave.). We did notice that certain customers were asked if they needed assistance, but employees walked right by us. We sat in the patio furniture section waiting for assistance and no one came over. Finally, I had to flag down an employee (he had just asked customers in front of us to let him know if they needed help and walked away from us). I was polite and asked if he would mind assisting us. We purchased a very nice Martha Stewart patio set and would have purchased more, but no one cared what we bought. I wish now we had not even bought what we did. We ended up going to Lowe's to purchase other home items (paint, fixtures, lamps, curtains, garden supplies, trees, and much more). I went to the Home Depot on Wendover Ave. in Greensboro and was ignored there as well. I left without speaking to anyone or buying anything. Lowe's employees are courteous and helpful. Well, I was in the store, 3651 on Saturday 4/13,2013. I had purchased a mower at the end of last season. At the close of the past summer it was emptied of gas and I stored the mower in my locked garage. When I tried to crank it this past Saturday, it just would not turn over. I imediately took the mower with my agreement to the store and the sales person's did all they could, and i was not satisfied with the results. I ask to see the manager. Mr. Charley came introduced himself , ask what the problem was reviewed the situation that had taken placed and immediately returned the item. I went home and I throughly read the directions..... I tried to crank it and the cord would not release. I was in tears, I could not believe what was happening. I called the store and told them what happened. They said we will need to turn this over once again to the manager Charley, the manager called me back within the half hour as the customer service rep. had said and within an hour, The manager Charley brought me another mower, set it up and rolled it across my grass to make sure that it was not a default, as the previous one was. My husband and I have been loyal customers of the Home Depot located at 2912 S Elm Eugene St, Greensboro for several years - replacement windows, kitchen counter tops/sink/faucet replacements, plus we've bought several appliances from them as well as smaller items. On October 4th we went in, picked out a front door, storm door and hardware to be installed by Home Depot. The salesman drew up the agreement, we went up front and paid for it. The next day he called and said the installer had scheduled a measure and he needed to charge us $30.00 more which would be refunded. No problem, even though our agreement/contract said that was covered in the installation fee. We gave him permission over the phone to add the charge. The installer's field rep came out Monday (16th), did the measure, sent us an e-mail saying he looked forward to "providing us with an exceptional installation experience". Yesterday the HD salesman (very nice man) called us and said we needed to okay an additional charge for the door slab - somewhere around $130. We told him that was covered in the agreement. The only information he could give us was the labor would be $85 and the rest was materials. We said, "For a board?" I asked him to e-mail us the specifics, and he agreed to. Just a few minutes later we got a call from a lady named Rosie who was very rude and told us she could not e-mail us the specifics of the new charge. After trying to get her to address what was in the agreement/contract and what wasn't, she became very angry and told us the job would be done her way or not all, although she did offer (sarcastically) to take $5 off for the caulking. I told her we would have to get back to her. We went to lunch and came home to an e-mail that said our order had been canceled (although the original charge along with the extra $30 for the measure is still on our card- in fact I've already made a payment on the card) with no explanation as to why. I talked to a manager at the 3651 store (Angelo?) three hours ago who told me from the notes it looked like the installer refused to do the job, and he couldn't do anything about that. But he did promise to research it and get back to me. Very confused about this entire customer service experience, but upset enough to never use Home Depot again specifically because of the way this lady named Rosie handled it. read more
