I purchased a utility steal door. Brandon the manager of the doors department greeted us with the appropriate greeting of the day and assisted us with picking out the perfect door that we needed. Brandon was professional, knowledgeable of Home Depot doors not limited but to include inswing, outswing, primed steal, interior, exterior, width, height, residential, commercial and standard size doors. Brandon went above and beyond the call of duty and explained the different doors that suites our need. Brandon made us feel "VALUED" as customers and got a cart and put the utility steal door on the cart. After 3 weeks of waiting with zero help from online customer service, I contacted the store directly to let them know if the item arrived I would not receive it nor pay for return shipping. I bought a fire pit from their online ordering system and the stone base came, but the concrete top was missing. The driver said that there was nothing else on the truck and wanted me to sign off the order as complete even though 1/2 of it was missing. I contacted the online HD customer service and was told that their system showed that the order was now complete. Not true. They asked me to hold while they called the shipper. When back on the line they gave me the shipping company phone number & said I should deal with them directly. This was a Home Depot issue, not mine and I told them that. The service rep then abruptly hung up. After calling back and waiting several minutes to speak to someone, I was assured that another top would be shipped and I would receive a confirmation e-mail. Two days later, nothing. I called back and was told that no order was placed and the only thing that could be done was an investigation and maybe a refund would be given. Thankfully the shipping company called me that same day to advise that the concrete top was found and four days later it was delivered. Terribly disappointed! Looked at these cabinets for months, made the decision to order, they come and the boxes are marked WHITE. I ordered Wheat. Heartbroken. Asked the driver if he could open and verify and he said no, asked if the rest of the boxes were white or wheat, he said if you refuse one, you are refusing the whole order completely. There is one guy in the electrical department having my trust. He was off, so staff fetched another 'electrician'. The takeaway is the 'electrician' talked out of both sides of his Orange Vest, one side of which could kill you. The other side was ok. but still.. i sought a direct answer, not spiel(s). To wrap this review up, 'electrician' stated to hust go ahead and share the neutral between two independent circuits; ' that load on the shared side is only 100 milliamps. A call came in, and he walked off before I could get this fellow to square the corners on my question. 35 milliamps of current across the chest can drop and kill a large, strong man. When I got home, I checked the 2017 National Electrical code. Shared neutrals between circuits are forbidden. Even if one circuit breaker is off, as soon as a load is applied to the 'shared' neutral load on the closed breaker, the 'shared' neutral on the 'other', OFF breaker is live,hot and energized. Be careful out there. No one us going to protect you but you. So, the kindly 'electrician' leaves us all with the advice to 'you just be you!' read more

They also made it very easy to return paint that did not turn out the way we liked it. Their labor day sale was very hard to beat. On July 3, 2020 I visited Home Depot in Jacksonville, NC. as my husband and I do almost every week. But an encounter with an associate by the name of Jerry was pretty bad. First he hit me with his cart, and acted like he really didn't want to be at work. He was very rude. I went to the customer service desk to speak with the manager. The manager's name is Ken Shirley. My encounter with the manager was worst than my encounter with Jerry. Instead of him actively listening to my concerns, he made excuses for Jerry's behavior. Saying, "That doesn't sound like Jerry. Something must be going on with him. He always gets great customer feedback ". I told the manager just because he treats you one way, does not mean he treats everyone the same way. He totally made the situation about Jerry and not address the lack of customer service he provided. My encounter with the manager left me feeling worst than my encounter with Jerry! They still have a good selection of carpet (Lowe's Home Improvement has about discontinued the carpet business), still has good price selection and free installation. However, the sales person there took down my phone number with ONE digit off! I noticed it two hours later and called it in to the flooring department right away. I asked her whether the measuring tech scheduled for the following Monday would have the correct phone number - sure she said .... Unfortunately he didn't. He was delayed about an hour. He had called the wrong number and had to check back with Home Depot. The measuring tech knew his job, great with the laser tool and the program used to develop the room sketch. I was able to download the sketch later - for future purposes - GREAT. The installation crew from the subcontractor (USIG from Wilmington, NC) also did a great job. They arrived on time, were responsive to special details of my room, worked hard and fast. Altogether a good experience with Home Depot and subcontractors. read more

I bought a jewelry tower from the home decorators collection believing it to be a fully assembled piece. I laid out a lot of money for a gift which was to be given as a special christmas present. Much to my complete disgust what I ended up giving was a box full of stuff (at least 100 pcs.) which would eventually almost be the 'jewelry tower'. I say almost because as I put the last piece together it was obvious that the routered out areas for the hinged top were done upside down. So after days of frustration from being forced to follow the ridiculously inept directions I get to the last step and can't complete it. This is a cheap crappy excuse for an 'armoire'. The holes don't line up or in some cases there are no holes. Each screw was a pain in the ass. Nothing about this thing masquerading as furniture was easy and now I am pi..d. I now own a piece of useless crap without a top. And subsequently I also found out that the drawers do not slide in nor do the glides go on the sides. They do not line up with the holes. There is a certain alignment that is needed and the only way that works is to invert the one side and this is when it occurs to you that what you thought would be easy is anything but. The word non-functional springs to mind. I should also point out the crack in one of the draws and the fact that when put together they are not flush. Did I mention that the velvet ring holder had to be glued back in. Imagine that, you pay for something that is virtually unusable looks like shit and this is what someone receives for their christmas present. I am done with Home Depot. The images that accompany the descriptions of the furniture online are smoke and mirrors. This company misrepresents their products. They are not products they are weekend warrior bullshit. If I knew I would receive a f....in 1000 piece puzzle instead of a finished product I would have gone shopping in the real world not the internet. The company obviously doesn't give a shit how they are perceived and now they have lost quite a few customers. This is not an isolated incident they also Suck at customer service. I was not a fan of Home Depot before but, they have tool rental. I had no idea that many of the tools the professionals use can be rented for a few bucks. I was painting my garage floor so I rented an air mover for $10. I have seen them used to dry carpet but this little guy pushes out a ton of air and dried the floor in a few short hours. The staff in the tool rental area were very friendly. I will be using HD from now on. They also have the same 10% discount Lowes offers. read more

72 hrs CARPET INSTALLATION TURNS INTO A NIGHTMARE! We are a military family moving back into our house after 3 years and we realize we needed to replace the carpet in our entire house before we could move in. We knew we would be staying in a hotel until it gets replaced so we went that day and picked and fully paid for a carpet that qualifies for the 72 hour installation. We asked the sales clerk many times if they were absolutely sure we would get our carpet installed in 3 days because we needed to coordinate with our movers and she assured us many times it would be done. 3 days later we didn't hear from them so we called the store and they had the installers call us back and they rescheduled us for 5 days after the date we paid for. After 5 days passed we called to see where they were and they rescheduled us to wait another 2 days, 7 days after the date we paid for. After waiting another 2 days without them contacting us we messaged Home Depot's online chat and told them if they don't come today their is no way we could afford to stay in a hotel and continue eating out and living out of a suitcase over the weekend. They finally sent the people over that day and installed our carpet after waiting 10 days for the 72 hour carpet we paid for. The installers arrived upset that I messaged corporate. They told me they were already planning on coming today. With their constant lack of communication and the fact that I couldn't afford for them to rescheduled us a 3rd time and pay to have my family of 4 live in a hotel for another week, I don't know what they expected me to do? Live in a hotel for a month? I was tired of chasing after them, I felt like I was dealing with teenagers with all the calling I did just to find out where they are or if they are coming or not and being constantly rescheduled. read more

Our moving day was a few days before Thanksgiving oven was used once and then on ThaNksgiving when range door broke and wouldn't close!-someone had to stand and keep it closed to finish our meal..Next day we called and was told we only had 48 hours & now our range wasn't new & had to be serviced! 43 days later--(without an oven people ALL thru HollidayS!)oven door brought to us & installed BUT they have not done ANY compensation to satisfy us!! Do not buy this product or any other product from Home Depot. I ordered a refrigerator, a built in dishwasher and over the stove microwave from Home Depot. I also paid for installation of all 3 items. When the items were delivered the delivery guys said they could not install my dishwasher since I have granite countertops and pvc pipe (note none of this is mentioned under the installation terms and conditions on Home Depot's website). When they unloaded the refrigerator it had a huge dent in the door. I called the Home Depot number listed on my order email. After hitting at least 10 prompts and holding for 15 minutes I was able to speak to a Home Depot associate. She told me that I would need to speak with someone at GE Delivery to get a new one sent out. She also told me I would have to hire a plumber to install the dishwasher even through I paid for the installation. She said she initiated a refund for the installation fee which as of one week later I have not received. She then transferred me to the delivery company. The agent with GE Delivery told me that I would need to accept the damaged product and then I would need to call Samsung to get a replacement. I told the agent with the delivery company this was not acceptable and I was not going to accept a damaged product. She said I would need to refuse the entire delivery or accept the whole delivery with the damaged refrigerator. So I refused the entire delivery and called Home Depot back. The second time after hitting multiple prompts and holding again, I got a much nicer, more helpful associate. She told me I could have refused the refrigerator and accepted the partial order but the delivery guys had already left. She also said that the first Home Depot associate should not have transferred me to the delivery company but called them herself. She also checked and no refund was initiated by the first Home Depot associate. So this second associate called the delivery company and called Samsung for me to correct the problem and set up a new delivery date. I was on the phone with her for almost 2 hours while she corrected the issue. Or what I thought was correcting the issue. A new delivery date was set up for the following week. But when the delivery company arrived they only had the refrigerator. The delivery guys did not know anything about the microwave or the dishwasher. So I called Home Depot for a 3rd time. The associate this time said Samsung received the products back and cancelled the dishwasher and microwave. But Home Depot did not issue me a refund for these items or the installation fees. So as best I can tell Home Depot planned to keep my money without giving me the products I purchased. I told the associate I still wanted the products. She said the only thing she could do was to issue the refund to my credit card and I would have to go online and order these items again. I asked if they could just issue the refund to a gift card or store credit and reorder the items so I didn't have to wait the 3-5 business days for the refund to his my credit card. But she could not do that. So after being on the phone this time for almost an hour I am without my products and I have to wait for the refund to hit my credit card so I can reorder. I am not reordering these items from Home Depot. I have found the same items at Lowes and I will order from there. Also they are cheaper at Lowes. I will continue to shop at the local Home Depot for small items we need at the house due to convenience of it is the closed home improvement store to my house. But I will never make any large purchases from Home Depot again. I have never received such a poor level of customer service in my life. If am very disappointed in Home Depot. read more

We were looking for a specific lawnmower a couple days before and stopped by and was told that it was out of stock. But today when we went to purchase a different one Maurice, Larry, and Mike along with three other employees (who's names we did not catch) in a span of 30 minutes helped us find and purchase a lawn mower and weedwacker we originally wanted. We bought the last lawnmower available which ended up being the display model. They Even showed us how to use it. And when the military discount wasn't working they kept trying on different registers and programs until it went through. We bought it at 479 S Marine Blvd Jacksonville NC. All of our questions were thoroughly answered. Also was able to be held in the store while we move into our new house. Thankyou and the Home Depot team for being amazing. Ordered wall to wall carpet that arrived damaged. Installers were a nightmare and the store was difficult to deal with. When it came time to order replacement carpet under the warranty (just a few months later) I was told the carpet in my home was no longer avaidue to it being defective. The options given to me were to choose inferior carpet in order to come in at the same price point or order more expensive carpet. I tried to explain that it wasn't my fault is the customer that the carpet is no longer available and that they (Home Depot) should work with the manufacture to find a comparable carpet without my paying extra. I was told their prices have gone up and there was no longer any carpet that was comparable in the same price range. WHAT!!? Why pay extra for their crappy Triexta carpet if you have to put out more money? A year and a half later I am still dealing with them. I paid $100 more in order to be done with it and the people they use to install it put a T seem below a picture window and all you see is the seam. Now I'm having to fight with them to fix it.
