After becoming far too familiar with this Home Depot, I have to say this location has really grown on me. The layout is weird. The roof is the garden center, but there's no way to get there without exiting the store and taking the elevator to the roof. But once you know, you know. It's a "small" location, but still much larger than flatiron. It'll probably have most typical things you need. Home Depot also has a pretty accurate inventory tracker on their website, so you should be able to see what's in stock before you even show up. (It does seem like most of the negative reviews are for online preorders). Curbside pickup is a joke. Used the app, no one ever came out to give me my item. Called the general number, had to wait 5 minutes for someone to pick up, the guy asked me for my order number as if I hadn't checked into curbside pick up online, then put me on hold for 2 minutes. Would have been way easier to just go in and buy the product without curbside pickup. If I had just used the app without calling I would have been waiting all day. Why we choose the store next door which gives the delivery 7 days later than Home Depot ? Here is our memorable experience: We checked the store BB, the delivery of a fridge was 12 days which was disappointing. So we tried Home Depot in hope of faster delivery. First, we asked the staffs near the cashier for help. The staffs asked us to go upstairs and claimed the associate would come up to help. After 20 mins, obviously no one showed up. We tried the second attempt, my hubby went up and I stayed with the cashier. expectedly no one show up. I told the staffs again that we got the model number but we need to know the delivery date. Finally the associate appeared another 15mins ! hurray ! The associate typed in the model we provided, and we went through the process of ordering. He typed the zip code wrong with a space and he kept saying it's not a valid zip code and walked away?! (Our zip code is just next to the store location!). When we provided our address, he shouted: spell it! (His store and our building are on the same road!) In the final process, we needed the COI (the insurance certificate for delivery). He said he never heard about it. We further explained it's necessary for our apartment building. He still insisted "out of my knowledge"!!! finally he called his coworker and confirmed we were right and we needed to call the next morning to get the COI. After loads of his ATTITUDE, we gave this store up because we have no expectations on the after-sales-service! When left the store, my hubby told me that the associate was the first staff we approached to call for assistance! He was the Assistant Manager! read more

An absolutely horrible experience. I attempted to rent a carpet steam cleaner. The rental center / pro service desk phone numbers were not answered after numerous calls. At the store, after waiting about 20 minutes, employee Shirmian came over to "help". After eye-rolling, she briefly fiddled with the computer and promptly gave up. While there were numerous cleaners available to be rented, she refused to put any effort at all into assisting. Given how horribly rude she was, I left. This Home Depot gets pretty lackluster reviews, but I've always had a perfectly fine experience. Parking is plentiful which isn't always the case in downtown JC / Hoboken. I suppose you couldn't have a Home Depot without a parking lot, but in any case there is a parking deck with plenty of spots. I usually visit for the garden center. There is a small selection of plants downstairs, and en even larger selection up on the roof. And then there are several aisles filled with gardening needs (tools, planters, grill stuff, etc). The Loews in Bayonne has a much better garden center, but the selection certainly isn't terrible. There are lots of fresh herbs, and they had a great deal on large palms -- $25 each. I wish there were more hanging planters or green plants. Most of the current selection is colorful florals and there were barely any hanging planters. But, as we head further towards summer I'm sure there will be more. Crowd control was decent and they had a security guard up front directing people in, or to their place on a waiting line. Once inside, it was a little confusing finding a place to check out, so maybe they can mark this more clearly. Overall, while the selection might not be as huge as some Home Depots out in the burbs, but I'm able to find what I need (or at least a similar version of it). Looking forward to revisiting throughout summer so I can see what new plants come in stock. read more

Left the city and shopped in Home Depot Holland Tunnel on 12th Ave in Jersey City because the stores in Brookly and Queens had such poor reviews and the Manhattan store a parking, or lack there of. I needed a car to get my purchases home. Also when I had something delivered from the Manhattan store they left it around the corner from my apartment on the sidewalk. $1300 of new bathroom fixtures. Good thing someone from my building saw them along with my name on the label and I could retrieve them before they were stolen. Easy return process. Only use self-checkout as staff take a while at the register. They have a popcorn machine next to the entrance, so good luck saying no to that. The logistics to the entrance are extraordinary as the location is next door to the tunnel. You literally feel like you're driving into the tunnel.
