This Home Depot gets pretty lackluster reviews, but I've always had a perfectly fine experience. Parking is plentiful which isn't always the case in downtown JC / Hoboken. I suppose you couldn't have a Home Depot without a parking lot, but in any case there is a parking deck with plenty of spots. I usually visit for the garden center. There is a small selection of plants downstairs, and en even larger selection up on the roof. And then there are several aisles filled with gardening needs (tools, planters, grill stuff, etc). The Loews in Bayonne has a much better garden center, but the selection certainly isn't terrible. There are lots of fresh herbs, and they had a great deal on large palms -- $25 each. I wish there were more hanging planters or green plants. Most of the current selection is colorful florals and there were barely any hanging planters. But, as we head further towards summer I'm sure there will be more. Crowd control was decent and they had a security guard up front directing people in, or to their place on a waiting line. Once inside, it was a little confusing finding a place to check out, so maybe they can mark this more clearly. Overall, while the selection might not be as huge as some Home Depots out in the burbs, but I'm able to find what I need (or at least a similar version of it). Looking forward to revisiting throughout summer so I can see what new plants come in stock.

When I was hunting for garden centers in the area, this came up with great reviews and I decided to check it out. It was definitely better than expected. They had a really nice selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. I came looking specifically for hydrangeas, and they probably had 10 to 15 varieties available - some needing full sun and some needing partial. The gentleman that was working there was very friendly. I wanted two plants that looked similar to sit side-by-side by my front door. He helped me choose the variety, and two plants that looked the most similar. We ended up deciding on the candy apple variety by Monrovia. It needs full sun and should bloom through summer with blooms that will last till October. Once I paid, they carried the plants out to the car for me, laid plastic in my car and packed everything for me. I thought this was really a nice service. This is definitely more expensive than Home Depot, but they carry much nicer product with wider variety and better service. Especially if you're just looking for a couple plants, I would definitely come here instead. I asked about some fall perennial plants, and he recommended I come back after Halloween to check out what they'll have in season for winter. I will definitely be back.

I've gotten a lot of gems here over the years and many gifts for my friends and family with green thumbs as well. Some of my favorites have been the pancake plant that is now 3x the size it was on the day I brought it home, this cool succulent that I have lovingly nicknamed the alien guy, a baby monstera and a cactus that hasn't grown an inch in 2 years, but hasn't died, so that is a win. On my last visit, I got a few leafy plants hanging plants as a gift for someone and when I was checking out I noticed they had those greeting cards that are made with seeds! I thought it was a pretty perfect pair to a gifted plant. The owners and the team working there are always friendly and helpful and answer all of my care questions. They recently added a bunch of pots, propagating vases and plant accessories. They also have fresh cut flowers and can make you arrangements. I haven't done this yet, but my friend that lives in Hoboken gets an arrangement from them every few weeks and they are always so beautiful. It's always such a treat stopping in here!

If you want to shop for flower there are plenty of other option in Hoboken that you should consider. I did not ask to be prioritized over others. I simply inquired about the expected wait time. Rather than receiving a clear response, I was met with irritation and raised voices, which I found unprofessional and unwarranted. If the workload is overwhelming, perhaps it's time to reconsider how the business is managed during peak periods. Losing one's temper with a customer is inexcusable.

I was very specific about everything and I sent very clear images of what I needed based on my own wall of Zeylanica plants. I was assured repeatedly by this shop that they had the plants in stock and they were all tall and lush and would meet the requirements I sent over prior to purchase. This claim to have these types of plants in stock was a total lie. It also makes sense why when I asked the shop to please send me pics of the final items to be shipped they pretended not to have seen the messages in time. Unreal. What I actually received from Dahing were three anemic, wilted stalks, hollowed out, rotting stalks plants with soil packed so high you would not even be able to water the plants. The pots were all the wrong size when I specifically mentioned the sizing that I needed. If they could not provide these specs no problem at all, it's very specific, so no big deal but just say you are unable to fulfill this type of order. They didn't say that at all. They said they could easily fulfill the order and had the specs of plants requested ready to ship. Long story short I own beautiful tall plants and what they over sent was so below substandard I was actually quite shocked. It was crazy. I had concierge set the plants in the mailroom for any of their team members to take home. Nobody wanted the plants because they looked so terrible. $200 of my money in the trash. Could have been much worse, so I can live with the loss of the money. It's the scamming that makes me see crimson. Buyer beware. This shop is a total scam that sends wilted stalks, disease spots, anemic, overpacked with soil plants. Please go in-person when purchasing plants so you can see them with your own eyes. This shop must post fake images of plants to defraud consumers into thinking that is what they will receive. Be assured you will not receive healthy plants from this shop. If I could give a negative 100 rating I would. Avoid this scam artist shop at all costs.
