This was our experience earlier today. We arrived at the store and the items were not there. Then they said, "oh, that stuff is lite, you can go pick it up yourself, I will tell you were to find them." POOR customer service. whoever this guy is needs to be fired, yes I said fired and the manager needs to train people on customer service or fire him as well. We got our product and left, not very happy about the whole inter action. I've trained in customer service, I've worked in customer service, and I've taught and still teach customer service. We ordered a set of kitchen appliances form Home Depot and on the first delivery attempt the refrigerator had a huge dent in it and there was no plug attached to it so we refused the delivery, on the second attempt the stove had missing parts and so did the dishwasher, the new refrigerator also had dents in it, on the third attempted delivery the third refrigerator that the brought us had dents in it also, I canceled the whole order then they tried to say we took possession of the stove ( we didn't, and signed for nothing) after weeks of fighting with customer service we finally got the rest of our refund. Do not but your appliances from the Home Depot !...I promise you will be disappointed beyond belief!....I will never shop there again !...you were warned! read more

I ordered over $2000 work of carpet for a 14x20 living room. The order was delayed Home Depot didn't want to continue tracking the order so they asked me to call the installer. I called and learned it was delivered to the installers a week prior but wasn't logged as received. I arranged installation for the following Monday, moved meetings, rescheduled house keepers and other appointments. When I didn't receive an installation window, I called the installers Monday morning and was told the installation wouldn't happen until Tuesday. Purchased an Electrolux Washer Dryer set. Delivery company drove off the driveway damaging my propery by hitting a 200lb planter, then drove off to their next appointment. I immediately contacted home depot and they filed my complaint. I had to place multiple calls to obtain action and after spending more than 3-1/2 hours on telephone calls, a month later I received a call from North Soouth Delivery/Freight Rite, Inc. stating their denial of my claim since it was filed later that 18 days after delivery. I called the day the damage occurred, and had to call many times to follow up with Home Depot, Sedwick Claims, and finally North South Delivery --- and had to hold more than 45 minutes each time before connecting with customer service. FYI - This is not a review on this location, just Home Depot in general. Dealing with Home Depot's installation crews and customer support was the worst retail experience of my entire life. Long story short they basically tried to steal my money by not completing an installation I paid for and were extremely difficult in working with me to complete it. Note, never get a dish washer or over the range microwave installation from them, their crews just don't want to do them because to their slight difficulty and will make up excuses to not do it which will result in weeks if not months of hassle back and forth with customer service. Customer service that will hang up on you and close the chat on you when they don't want to deal with it. I felt sorry for the crew that I finally got to complete this, they did it in under 30 minutes and made me aware that this happens to them all the time, because the other crews don't want to do them so they end up getting stuck with it. Skip the installation and stick with a reputable company that uses real installers and not delivery drivers that don't want to do it. read more

When given the choice I will choose Lowe's over the Home Depot any day! Lowe's has better quality and a better stock of inventory, employees that although are not contractors do have general knowledge of construction and repair, and overall better prices. We've used Home Depot for decades for appliances, building supplies, everything home related. It's been one bad experience after another and tonight put me over the edge. We ordered a dishwasher, and paid over $200 for installation/parts/removal of the old appliance. We were given a four hour window and after five hours of waiting, they should up at 8:20pm. The dishwasher was horribly dented, so we refused it. I called and spoke with a manager, Chance, and was told that it happens and that I need to call the manufacturer myself to schedule a redelivery and Home Depot offered absolutely no options to make this right. I am fed up with constantly being hassled by their in-home consultation services and today was finally the breaking point. I came in for a bolt. A bolt! And instead, I spent 15 minutes being bombarded by home questions and giving unenthusiastic responses to try to convey they I wasn't interested. Do I really have to be a jerk and tell them to leave me alone? Apparently so. I don't want to be in that position anymore - of avoiding eye contact with everyone in the store and not returning "hellos" for fear of being stopped and interrogated for half an hour so I will start driving the extra 10 minutes to Lowes to avoid the uncomfortable exchange. Home depot, like lowes is a handy mega hardware store. But unlike a hardware store, the employees will avoid helping you if they can. Ive had several be just be flat out rude, one act like he was stoned, and only the plumbing guy came right over and helped. Because of its size it doesnt have everything you will need. For example, I bought a lawn mower there, but they dont sell any parts for it. I have to go to sears for the parts. On the plus side tho, they do have a nice return policy, a nice sized plant selection and most prices are reasonable. Some are not so reasonable and you should check out walmart to see if its cheaper. I wish I could give no stars! I purchased a stove a few months ago and during the installation the installers ( a third party ) scratched my floor. They took responsibility for the damage and I was informed by them that I would have to contact the store. The store said that it was the responsibility of the delivery company and they would send out an adjuster. The adjuster claimed that it was not their responsibility and would not pay for repairs. Trying to get in touch with someone who could help from Home Depot is impossible. Literally, I never found anyone who could help. Not my local store and certainly not corporate. It has been 7 months. Order Stove and Dishwasher week ago to be delivered today. Not one email or call to say it is now going to be pushed back by a week. I call HD to find out what is going on, well GE / Home depot has it in stock but somehow did not make it onto the truck to get to the warehouse. So how do they handle this on the 27th? A automated call from GE that came up as spam and left no voicemail. No additional calls from Home Depot or GE as if they can care less. I asked why at least the Dishwasher isn't being delivered here and they indicated that they do not deliver partial orders.. right because why make the customer semi happy. Cashier told us we can go to another register 3 times because what she was doing was going to take about 2 minutes. We told her that it was alright and we stood there . The costumer in front of us began to yell and told the cashier was trying to help when we said it was alright ( we yelled a little also ), said called for a manager and told them to call the police because we were yelling at her. I went in to buy an oven and a microwave. the sales process was very easy. I knew what I wanted and they wanted my money... So easy..... Then..... 1. The price went down $200 2 days after I purchased it and the price I purchased it for said it was set for 3 weeks. Then they made it a hassle to get a refund on the $200. 2. The associate at the store never told me to remove the 220 line that was hooked up to my old oven. When the installers came they told me that the line would have to be removed and he would not install it that day even after I told him I could get the line out in 5 minutes. I took the line out and the installation company told me the installer was in the wrong for leaving. It took them a week to come back. 3. When they came back the guy said he would install my microwave for free due to the first visit. EVERYTHING IN THE MICROWAVE BOX WAS MISSING. (Turn table, brackets, install kit, manuals). So they ended up installing the oven and took both microwaves with them. 4. Went back to Home Depot told me it was not their problem anymore and washed their hands of it. The manger even told me that I could purchase another one and return it when I get the one I ordered. 5. They told me the microwave would be on back order for at least 2 month. Then when a different manager at home depot tried to get me an upgrade somehow they found some in stock and it would be a 2 week wait. just bought a house so all hardware stores are pretty frequent on my rotation right now and i've been hitting the home depot hard. this past saturday i came here and was nicely surprised by the customer service i received. i was trying to decide on a shop vac and a sales associate saw me there and offered advice and in a turn of no small rarity - he actually recommended a cheaper/smaller item based on my usage needs and did not try to upsell me even though it was obvious i had no idea what i wanted/no level of understanding on the subject. i got about 1000 paint sample papers so i'll be back. until next time home depot! read more

Been going here my whole life. I never ask for assistance because the workers are very busy. Today however I picked up a table saw, the only box under the table saws. The cashier told me I got the wrong mode $50 difference. He then told me to carry the box back to the saws and wait for someone. I waited 15 minutes and flagged someone down, they said they would call someone. 20 mins pass I flag down another employee who seemed annoyed that I stopped him. Waited another 20 mins, flagged another guy down who said someone is over at aisle 9 taking it down. I go over to aisle 9, no one there. Another 20 mins go by and a guy comes over and said "oh yeh I see one up there, it's gona be a long time until I can get someone to get that down". I said forget it and went home. I placed an online order for one item at 6:30 p.m. Monday with an expected pick up of within about 2 hours same day. I was in the area so I went by at 8:30 and the order wasn't ready. I was sure it would be ready first thing in the morning. By 10:30 the next morning I still hadn't received a notification to pickup. So I called. and called. and called. I could not get ANYONE to answer on any extension. Finally, someone picked up and went "checking" on my order while I waited on hold for 20 minutes. At 20 minutes, I hung up and started calling. and calling. and calling again. This time I got a live person who seemed quite annoyed that I would be inquiring and she thought maybe someone could pick my order within an hour. Long story short, place online orders with Lowe's. My online order with Lowe's Lancaster last night was ready to be picked up within 15 minutes. Lesson learned. read more

Ordered a washer/dryer on sale on 7/19. Home Depot charged our credit card immediately. Was told it would be delivered on 7/25. Night before delivery (coincidentally the same day that washer/dryer sale ended both at Home Depot & SEARS) was told it couldn't be delivered til 7/27. On7/26, was told it was backordered til 8/14. Received a call on 8/9 that it would be delivered on 8/14. Called on 8/13 to find out what time the washer/dryer would be delivered - and GUESS WHAT - not being delivered on 8/14 either - the excuse this time is that the truck didn't arrive in time to put my washer & dryer on it. So I've been dealing with a dryer that doesn't work for 3 weeks, paying INTEREST ON MY CREDIT CARD FORITEMS I HAVEN'T RECEIVED - AND HOME DEPOT STILL CAN'T DELIVER THEPRODUCT I ORDERED & PAID FOR!!!! I suspect that Home Depot knew they didn't have any of these washer/dryers in inventory and SOLD THEM ANYWAY because SEARS had them on sale too. Because I need a new washer & dryer NOW and I have no confidence that Home Depot will EVER deliver my products, I NEED TO CANCEL MY ORDER, EAT THE INTEREST CHARGES AND ORDERTHE SAME PRODUCT FROM SEARS AT A HIGHER PRICE BECAUSE THE SALE HAS ENDED. read more

I was in the process of having a kitchen renovation started. We had put an extension on our house as the existing kitchen was quite small with little wall space. We needed design help so paid the $50 for someone to come out and measure so a designer could figure out our layout. Grace was the designer we dealt with. She seemed very professional and courteous at first. Later though, I found she did not respond to emails. She complained about being overwhelmed with work so I tried to be patient. When I finally decided I'd had enough, I called the manager. An assistant manager called me back and tried to say he couldn't find record of me paying $50 to the store. I then informed him that I keep all my receipts and would be happy to retrieve my receipt and call him back in a few minutes. Miraculously, he found his copy too! He then proceeded to tell me that my kitchen would never be a 'great kitchen'. I beg to differ. We found a cabinet maker who does recessed cabinet doors in almost the same exact style as our 1920's original cabinets. This cabinet maker did a fabulous design for a work triangle, island eating area and other cabinetry for a fraction of the cost of new 'cookie cutter' cabinets at Home Depot. With the marble, granite, stainless and costly faucets and woodwork, that kitchen is going to be ready for a magazine. It's pretty disturbing when a manager is so unprofessional with a customer and feels confident enough to get away with it. We ended up buying all of our stainless appliances from Lowes and will be buying our marble subway backsplash tiles elsewhere too. We are doing a master bath on the top floor of our house next year. I think we will use Lowes for all of our supplies which will include marble, polished nickel faucets, jacuzzi tub, fireplace and various other luxuries. Home Depot made a costly mistake. read more

The employees are great! But DO NOT buy a door here!! Jacob is great as far as the ordering of the door goes..but the supplier is a different story. We waited 4 weeks for a door and side lights that was over $3000.We found out the doors are made a few hours away. On the installation day I got a call from the Lancaster Home Depot that when the "installer" went to pick up the door it was 3 different colors!!!! Home Depot did not examine this door to see if it was OK. The installer who is a sub contractor noticed it was not right. I allotted an entire day for this installation and was told 1 hour before installation that it would not be installed and there was a problem with the door. After waiting 4 weeks for its arrival I was so disappointed. The manager told me that they would expedite a new door and his employee in charge of orders would be in charge of that process. I asked the manager if I would be compensated since the door was defective and I was so inconvenienced. He said I would be compensated "After" the door is installed. The door was not expedited and the guy in charge of orders did not do much to help the process. I would get automated calls from Home Depot with dates the door would arrive at the store and then I would call him to check on its process. When the door did arrive I only knew about it because I also ordered a storm door for a different area and I asked the installer when he was going to pick up it up to check to see if my door and side lights were there. The door was there but the installer could not see it to make sure it was OK. I called the guy in charge of orders and left a message as usual he never picked up the phone so I could ask him to check on my door. He called and left a message that the door did arrive and that it was in a safe place so that it would not get damaged. I asked him why he has not been checking on the door since he was given the job to do so and it was suppose to be expedited. He could not answer the question and obviously was not checking on the door. It took just as long for the expedited door to arrive as it did for the initial door. 4 more weeks!! Then I get a call from the order guy stating the installers office would like for me to come in and check the door out to see if it is Ok. I was scheduled for surgery the next day and could not go to the store to look at the door. I expressed my concern as they are the experts in doors since they sell them and they would know more about an issue with the door than myself. Installation finally happened and there were dowels missing that go into rather large holes to cover the screws. I was told by the installer that he was going on vacation and the dowels would be sent to my house and he will be back to caulk around the door after I stain the pieces of wood he put in to fill in the gaps on both sides of the door because my house settled. But this door was measured before ordered. Did my house settle in the time frame of waiting for the door??I stained the wood and caulked the very large openings all around the door to prevent my air conditioning from escaping and insects from entering my home. At the present time my door is not level and you can see the light from outside at certain areas of the frame of the door. The molding around the door inside is scarred up with tons of black marks,gouges, blobs of who knows what and splintered wood. I was told I would have to paint it. After this installation I called the manager and asked if I would be compensated for this since the door is now installed. He said he could give me a 10 percent discount!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable! Then I talked to the General Manager who was rude and did nothing for me. A customer is given a 10 percent discount for little things like a scratch ect.....I went through 8 weeks of pure frustration with this door and I bought my own caulk, my own paint, and will need to hire someone to weatherize this door which is filled with tons of draft areas!!!! Their 10 percent discount did not even cover these problems. Apparently my old door was not so bad..It fit the space...no wood was used to fill in any gaps around the frame and it had no leaks for air to come in and for my air and heat to escape. I paid over 3000 dollars for a door that has tons of leaks! I mean you can see the light of day! As far as the manager of the Lancaster Home Depot...in my opinion he did nothing for me! He does not even have an email address or his own extension. You call the customer service area when you need to speak to him and when waiting for him to pick up...the phone hangs up! This happened to me too many times to count. Seriously think before buying a door from this place as their supplier is not the best either...I mean the door and side lights were 3 different colors and it took just as long for an expedited door! My girlfriend ordered $1,300 worth of materials ; 45 sheets of drywall, 3 doors, bathroom fixture, 95 two by for studs and 18 sheets of backer board and was told if there was space in garage delivery could place it inside for her so she paid for delivery. Instructions we're provided as to the phone # to call when the driver was bringing materials, they called the wrong #. When they brought the materials there was more than enough space available in garage to fit the materials but was told by the delivery person that they are not allowed to extend the forklift in to the garage to place the materials inside unless that service was paid for. No mention was made by the store representative of any additional charges in order to have materials placed inside or she would have paid it, per the representative at The Home Depot, if they have the equipment, they will do it, no they won't...we're going to start using Lowes now. read more

Went there on a Tuesday evening. Kitchen design department apparently make their own hours, and you'd think for a department that makes home Depot so entirely much money, they'd wish to cater to the people that have to work during the day to make the money to pay their ridiculous amounts! Then to make matters worse, the woman in the flooring department had the knowledge of a toothpick, was nice but just wouldn't shut up to let you actually tell her what YOU wanted instead of her shoving what she wanted you to buy down your throat. And then when it came to choosing colors of the boards she literally stood directly in front of the board (that you couldn't see it) and asked you to pick a color. She was nice don't get me wrong but too pushy and definitely not the brightest bulb in the box. And sadly in their appliance department, their selection was somewhat lacking in comparison to what they offered online. read more
