Bought a new dishwasher from Home Depot and had them install it as well. First, they send me two installer and neither spoke English. I had to go get a Spanish speaking neighbor to translate. The after 2,/1/2 months the dishwasher suddenly tilted sideways 1/2 inch. I called Home Depot, after being on hold 20 minutes, I was told "sorry, we only warranty our installations for 1 month...really. A $1000 dishwasher, which they told me "we'll do a quality install ". Worst customer service and product I have experienced in my life. We pay $1800 for carpeting and wait 5 weeks for the install, and here's what we get: 1) only one guy, when furniture removal was part of our contract 2) didn't bring enough carpet 3) the carpet they did bring was 2 different colors (see attached) When we tried to resolve the matter, they told us it'll be another 4-6 weeks and then wouldn't give us a refund or promptly pick up their product (we live 1.9 miles away from the store). My husband and I visit this location often for home improvements, handyman materials and even for their garden selection. Currently the Halloween decor is displayed and man oh man do they have some pretty neat electronic displays. The store app that tells you where to find a particular item is very helpful and I highly recommend it. Every time we come in someone asks us if we are finding everything ok. You can bring your dog in. It's fun to see cranky contractors melt over our Bichon. :) Renting items is easy and you can view online if a certain location has what you're looking to rent. This location has at least one truck with a flat bed and a van. read more

I came here to get a screw for my bike brakes, just trying to save some money and fix up an old bike. Asked one of the floor people where to find specific screw with exact dimensions, and he basically told me to leave. He said something about being a cop at one point, and told me to go to a bike store to professionally get my bike repaired to prevent an accident. I ended up going to a bike shop and they didn't have the screw in stock and told me they could order it or to check at a hardware store for one. I think that's pretty ironic. Pros: -came to buy paint once, salespeople seem pretty knowledgable, happy to help me with my needs. -came to buy insulation, random worker (don't think he was a salesperson) helped me and gave me some quick advice. Cons: -this past cop floor salesman dude refused me to sell me a single screw even after i explicitly told him what i needed and was sitting on a shelf infront of me. He was pretty condescending and I'm not sure why he mentioned being a cop before. It really ticked me off. read more

Had owned the freezer for 6 weeks When all this started. Now one year later I'm still having the same issues. Just know if you buy appliances from Home Depot, you are on your own. This is about the online home depot. Not the actual store referenced. I ordered a refrigerator for my shop last month around the 17th. I received confirmation that it has shipped and everything seemed like it was going as planned. I informed all of my employees we would be getting a refrigerator so when it comes in take it where it needs to be. About 10 days later I had a few employees ask me when the refrigerator was showing up because they had not seen it come in. At that point I check my emails and saw an email that said it had been delivered. I called Home Depot online and spoke to a person who told me that it had been delivered from the actual Warehouse to a company that makes the deliveries. This was different from what the email said. I told him that it should have never taken this long for an item that I could have gone to another store and drove home in the back of my truck. He became a bit defensive in my opinion. At that point I told him that he was taking the wrong approach. Seeing as how his job was to service the customer he'd be better off trying to accommodate the inconvenience instead of trying to defend what happened thus far. He said nothing whatsoever about any discount or accommodations that they were willing to give me for the inconvenience of not having a product I already paid for. He then told me once the refrigerator shows up I'd have to call back and at that time they would look into some sort of a discount or coupon. The refrigerator never showed up. Two days ago I called them to see what was going on, and spoke to a much more pleasant person. She said the refrigerator was lost in transit and was extremely apologetic. At that point she refunded my money and talk to her manager about giving me a $100 off coupon. This took her all of three minutes to do. I will never order another Appliance from Home Depot online again. But I will say Patricia Johnson helped me a lot faster with better results than the other customer service rep I had to deal with. In my opinion Home Depot online needs to get rid of their delivery service and find a new company to work with. Patricia Johnson on the other hand deserves a raise. read more

The Waverly store has really upped the game! I've been there a lot in the last two years since buying a new home. From the Gardening area to Paint to Tools to the Rental area, all have been exceptional in customer service and having everything I've needed! Paint especially has a great and knowledgeable team, have been really grateful for them!!! The west side Home Depot has felt more like a local hardware store than corporate America (sans their size)! I do not recommend anyone shop or purchase big items from The Home Depot. My husband and I had two toilets that were purchased at home depot installed into our home and both of them broke within two weeks of being professionally installed. Instead of working with my husband and I to have a technician come over to repair the broken parts, their solution is for us to rip out the toilets bring them back to the store and trust that two new replacements that we will need to install ourselves will work without issue. This is after we waited over 1/2 hour at the store to talk with a manager (after realizing the individual we spoke with didn't actually call the correct manager) and then I called the corporate headquarters where the woman compared taking out and returning toilets to returning a tee-shirt at the store. Save yourself the money, time and hassle and find a store that values their customers. read more

Rented electric power washer did not work when I brought it home. I immediately called Brian and explained it wasn't working with enough pressure to clean my basement floor. I told him I would return after using a garden hose to do the job. I returned a little after 3 hours on a four hour rental. He tried it and it didn't work. I made an adjustment and it did work, so he charged the full rental price even though I reminded him didn't use it. I used my own garden hose instead.... Yes, Home Depot received their 30.00 rental fee, but solidified my own intent to stay out of that store. I was going to have home depot do my carpet but I measured before I went to know about how.many square feet it was so I could do the math on prices. When we did the pricing I was confused why it was so much then I found out is there were charging me for 250 extra square feet to make sure the seams were done right so they needed extra he said not.only that they were charging me an extra 250 sq ft in padding which has nothing to do with the seams. So in all between padding and carpet they were charging me at least $ 700 more than what it was supposed to be. I told them to shove it I was so mad. So I found another place to do it for 1400 which home.depot was supposed to be 1300 but they tried to charge me 1950 instead. I love their app. You can designate a location. The app can tell you which item is at which aisle. Personally, I hate wandering around in Home Depot. It is very large space but not well organized. For example, if I look for some tile products, tiles/ cutter/grout are nearby. But grout remover is in hardware section, which is the other end of store. I see this kind of organizing at home depot all the time. I feel the merchandise is organized for their employee's convenience, not customer's. Menards is much better organized. Related products are normally nearby. At home depot, you have to walk miles to get things. This is where app helps. read more

This was originally a Facebook post a couple months ago I wrote on Home Depots reviews. So. I had a dishwasher delivery scheduled 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. At 8:30 pm I called the delivery phone number, was told I'll get a call any minute now. 9:00 pm rolls around I call again, I was told I should get a call any minute now. 9:30 pm rolls around around we call again we are told no deliveries past 10:00pm. Do NOT rely on their delivery service. Even with my wife's and my schedule, we can't be available for delivery after today for a couple weeks, we already scheduled time for this and paid someone to be install it for less then than Home Depot. So now we have to pay more to have them come back again. So now we are paying more than than Home Depots original installation fee. So I paid someone for nothing, to be here for no reason. When we called again at 9:30, they didn't care what an inconvenience it was. They didn't care we wouldn't be available for delivery the next day. Simply put, Home Depot doesn't care about the customer. Next day: After calling the delivery number several times and going into the store, nobody cares. Even though we were busy, I made arrangements to be home today in the early evening. They said they could still deliver, but on the 23rd, over a week later. How anyone can think that is ok is beyond me. Missed commitments should take top priority! So my last visit to the store I got a full refund and I'll be taking my business to Lowe's. I'll be telling everyone I can about this terrible experience. My folks were going to buy a dishwasher too, certainly won't be at Home Depot after this. I will never shop there again, nor will my folks or any other of my extended family or friends. read more

Love the Home Depot and have shopped there for years. I was in the store shopping around for 15 minutes today. In that time period I was asked "how are you today sir?" , "can I help you find anything?" by 9 different employees. As soon as I said "NO" and walked 10 feet I was stopped again and asked the same question by another employee. I believe that customer service is important but this was a little bit overboard. I am the type of person who likes to take my time and look around and if I need help I will ask for it. I don't like being approached and bothered every 10 feet. Perhaps you can give your employees little stickers so once they have already ask a customer if they need help and they say "NO" you can stick a sticker on them and other employees will know not to keep bothering them. Also, when I am left alone and walk around looking at things I tend to buy more than I had planned too. I have shopped this store regularly since it first opened and believe me, I know what you have and where everything is located. I hurried today so that I could just get out of there. This is why I stopped shopping a lot of stores that I used to, you step in the door and you have 15 sales people jumping on you and they wont let up till you leave. read more

I shop at this store often. I would not recommend flooring instillation. I purchased carpet and padding here. The padding was installed incorrectly. I have been waiting for this to be addressed for months. They have a lifetime warranty but I can tell that they are dragging their feet on this. It's disappointing and I hope they fix this partly because we have spent so much money here. read more

I would like to Thank You Very Much for Ass. Store Manager Mr. Joe Medja from The Home Depot Store location 936 S Waverly Rd, Lansing, MI. On 9/6/2018 we came for help because in September 2014 we bought a Samsung refrigerator. Our refrigerator had 5 service visits and still was not working good (problem with ice cubes). We bought for 5 years Protection Plan with Asurion Constumer Solution, and they play nasty game with us. On 6 th service visit (should be for diagnosis only) they try to fix again, and again. In protection plan after 3 services for the same breakdown the refrigerator should be replaced. Mr. Medja saw all our proofs, and ask a couple professional question and spend a couple hrs to deal with Asurion to support our clam. read more

Ordered carpet FIVE weeks ago. Installer shows up yesterday alone, paperwork says they'll move anything purchased at a furniture store. Okay great, now I have to help the tech move furniture. The tech was short two square yards of carpet when we specifically had the lady in flooring call (the sub they hire) to double check they included carpet for our mezzanine step up before paying and finalizing our order at the desk. So we agreed hey, install the rest of the carpet and you can come back & finish the closet/future bar. Halfway through the install the carpet is two different shades down the middle of the room at the seam. CFI (the sub) tells me 5-6 weeks before they can order & have someone out with the carpet offering no alternatives. I ask what about in stock carpets at Home Depot. They have me call this store and the store says come in to see what we have. I find a carpet in stock that's not as good as our initial order but that will suffice given we've been waiting over five weeks to utilize our basement which is the largest room in the house. I'm told 4-6 weeks. What's the point of asking me to come into the store if you can't install in stock carpet any faster? Manager offers no solutions. No discount off the job for wasting my day off work, no ability to move the job up on the schedule for the inconvenience. Just take it or leave it. He then says they can put me on a pull forward list & that it works. We were on the pull forward list for the last five weeks and it didn't move a single day. I told them to cancel my order & get whatever stuff the tech left in my basement as I'll take my business elsewhere. Now CFI & Home Depot won't give me a time they can get the materials out of my basement. So in short, I paid $1800 to wait over FIVE WEEKS only for my basement to have pieces of carpet and padding that are different colors just sitting on my floor. I must say that the quality of the products as well as the customer service was the best at this store on Wavely Rd (lansing west side). I would shop here anytime again. Don't order window installation here! 1) I spent an hour in-store designing a window. 2) guy comes to the house to do installation estimate and says They don't install the windows designed in store. I had to order a new one from him, that was three times as much. 3) The window measurement guy was supposed to come next, and forgot the first appointment. I wasted an hour waiting for him and I had to re-schedule and rearrange two days later. 4) I got receipt and confirmation from Home Depot that the project was underway and then I heard nothing for five weeks. I then noticed my credit card had been credited with the deposit I put down on the window. I got online to track the order, and I had no record of my order. 5) After several phone calls and much more wasted time, I found out that my order had been canceled, because the guy that measured the window noticed there might be some difficulty in installing it because it's above the roof of the porch. So, rather than work around it, Home Depot canceled the order, without telling me or the sales man I was working with. He is pretty much done with the company, for this kind of crap. read more

My husband likes to shop at this Home Depot. He always seems to get more assistance from employees than from other similar stores and they seem to have more of what supplies he needs to buy. This summer I had my own experience with Home Depot. I had bought some items (which I couldn't find at other similar stores) and wanted cash back, having used my debt card at the self-checkout. I was in a hurry and distracted and forgot to pick up my cash back. I didn't realize this until the next morning and I figured I was just out of luck, assuming some other customer after me probably took my cash. But I called Home Depot on a hope that someone honest turned it in. I'm not exactly sure, but I think the cashier discovered the cash I forgot to take and put it aside in an envelope. So when I called Home Depot and explained my situation, they checked with the office and found out that my cash had been set aside by this cashier, I think her name was Jen. So I went into the store and talked to the Service Desk personnel, who happened to be the young lady I spoke to on the phone so she knew my situation. She was helpful in reaching the right people to get my cash back, cash which I thought was gone forever! I wish I could remember her name---I think it started with a "D" and sounded Russian. So a big thank-you to these two ladies and everyone else at Home Depot who helped me get my cash back. read more
