I go to Home Depots all over the country and have never put one on Yelp because they are all basically the same. This one stands out. I've been here twice, months apart, and I've never seen as many HD employees working at one time and as many just standing around chit chatting and laughing with each other. Went to the Midtown Home Depot today. Searched the appliance dept. to buy a washer/dryer, stove and frig. Was there 20 minutes and NOT ONE person standing around talking in appliances ever looked at me or spoke to me. They lost a $3,000 sale today. And to top it off, searched Google for that Home Depot phone number and 3 times the link gave me a store in Houston, Texas. Wow. Home Depot used to be the best, now it's the worst. Its Billing Department needs to go back to grade school and learn Basic Math. This review has nothing to do with my local Home Depot store, the employees there are the best of the best. This is for the incompetence of Home Depot. My July Home Depot statement was delayed by the USPS. It was finally delivered on Saturday July 12, 2025. The statement is due July 10, 2025. I quickly went to my local Home Depot store on the 12th and paid the amount due and explained to the manager what had happened, due to the fabulous service that USPS gives and if they thought I would be charged a late fee for a damaged late bill that I had just received. She said hopefully not as their store has had problems with their own mail. Anyway, getting back to the point. After being alerted that my Credit Score has taken a large hit, I called Home Depot Credit Customer Service and talked to Jose' and explained the issue. He had made notes and put in for the late fee to be waived. Problem solved right? NO! The August statement arrives on time but there is this $29 late fee on the bill that was supposed to be waived. I called Home Depot Credit Customer Service again and spoke to Megan and she advised that the late fee has been removed and to continue paying the regular amount of $91 even though this bill was asking for $122. Another thing the math does not add up. $91.00 + $29.00 late fee comes up to $120.00 in my book. The September statement arrives and amount due is $152. So once again I called Home Depot Credit Customer Service and spoke to Sebatian and was handed off to Cythia and explained to her the original issue with the statement being delivered two days late after the due date. She never gave me an acceptable answer except to pay $31.00 now (08-20-2025) and to pay $121 on the upcoming September statement which is asking for $152.00! I will never give Home Depot anymore business EVER! I hope you never ever have a problem with their billing, because you will be screwed. I have since shredded their card and will continue to spread the word that their Credit Customer Service Department SUCKS!!! Oh and to make things even better, I receive a letter from Home Depot Credit Sevices on 08-21-2025 dated 08-16-2025 and my credit limit of $10,300 has been lowered to $3,400 and was based on (1) History of delinquent credit obligations on your account with us (2) Number of accounts with delinquency (Home Depot only) (3) Length of time credit history was established (August 18, 2023) (4) Portion of balance to credit limit too high on your account with us. Of the three-year history with Home Depot Credit only a couple of a month of the messed-up Credit Customer Service 07/12/2025 - 08-/20/2025 does not equate to a history. Now with all that out in the open, this is the way I roll. When the bill comes in, I always date on the envelope to be paid by the day before it's due, always online so to have a confirmation number of it being paid with date paid, for my records. Until this screw up with the USPS, everything was fine and as far as the credit to limit ratio it is well less than one third. The rest was caused by the incompetence of Home Depot Credit Customer Service for not listening or caring enough to fix things correctly. Don't get me started on the lack of competence of our Glorious USPS that wants more money and less responsibility! I ordered carpet and paid for old carpet removal and furniture moving.. the installer who was a contractor should've at my house and refused to remove the old carpet and he left. Home Depot then told me I had to remove it myself and they would refund me the carpet removal fee of $38. I know Home Depot charged me three times that much for carpet removal then I removed the carpet myself and they wanted to charge me another hundred dollars to come back to my house. Then they said they couldn't come back on that same day. don't order anything from Home Depot. It's a total disaster and you will regret it. read more

Okay, so this Home Depot is in a very busy part of town and the store reflects, it looks as if work is being done and that's the issue, because as I always say, keep your workplace clean and neat. I've visited this store a few times and the front end is always in a constant state of untidiness, cluttered and I can't help but to think a cluttered hardware store cant be the safest. The way this store is maintained cleanliness and organization wise is in direct contrast with the store out in Bartlett. You can still find what you need in a pinch. read more

We ordered a washer dryer to be delivered to my daughters house in Memphis. Delivery was supposed to be 1-27. She was home ALL DAY, working from home in her kitchen facing the open front door with the glass storm door so she could see everything. At the end of the day, when they hadn't shown up, she called and they told her they came and no one was home. This is AND OUT AND OUT LIE! She was home all day and didn't even have a car that day! They rescheduled the delivery for EIGHT DAYS LATER! We called and begged them to deliver it sooner but they refused. They refused to even apologize! We therefor cancelled the order and will shop elsewhere. Their delivery people are lazy and liars---don't shop here! read more

I shopped at Home Depot at 1627 Poplar Ave on 9/25/2020 in the afternoon. The employee in the lumber department was so very nice, patient and helpful. She did an excellent job cutting some plywood for me and was so kind and courteous to everyone she assisted. But I could not give a 5 star rating because the checkout was a joke. I was told that I could write a check after waiting a long time I was told that my check was declined with no explanation or reason. The funds were in my checking account. I paid with my credit card only because I had come a long way and had the items I needed. If you don't want to accept a person's check, don't lie about it and waste anyone's time by sending them to a "different" checkout line and declining the check. Seems like profiling. read more

I ordered a stove September 15th, my delivery was set for October 5th. The day arrives, it says delivered, I called to see what was going on, they said it was error on their end saying the order was incomplete. Reordered on 10-5, delivery date 10-21, at home waiting no phone call, the delivery window was closed, I called twice only to find out my stove didn't make it in time to be on the delivery truck. Rescheduled 11-2, they called this time and said the truck broke down. Rescheduled 11-6, no call from them. I called only to hear the same bull crap that the truck still broke. NEVER GO TO THIS HOME DEPOT. IT IS WORTH IT TO GO TO LOWES, EVEN IF IT IS A LITTLE FURTHER AWAY. I can give you several examples of the kinds of experiences that support why I do not go to this home depot. But for now, I only have a few minutes to express my last one. #1 Went into home depot to inquire about tile , there was no one in the flooring section. We waited in that area for about 10 minutes. #2 Went to the neighboring section, explained that we could not find anyone in flooring and that we wanted to know how much home depot would charge to install flooring. The guy told us that he didn't work in flooring ( that is it) #3 We went back to flooring, only to be ignored by a women who looked like she was stocking the shelves. When we asked her for help she just kept saying. "I will be with you in a minute sir( with irritation, and not looking our way at all. #4 We actually sat down and waited for her to finish doing inventory or whatever. There are two chairs in the middle of the flooring section at their "consultation" center. We went to ask her if she could help us after another almost 20 minutes went by. She was no where to be found. #5 We went to the Help Desk. The customer service representative did not want to hear our concerns and she only mouthed back that she also did not work in tile or "know nothing bout no tile". (please also note the lady behind the counter was slow grazing on chicken wings and also not concerned.) Me and my husband took our business to lowes. They answered all of our questions and all of our experiences at Lowes have been awesome. We travel out of our way to not go to home depot as we live in 38104. Another experience, we were there looking at appliances. They closed in 20 minutes. The entire time we were looking they would call over the intercom saying " we still got one in appliances". Then they started making announcements and calling over the loud speaker that they still had one in appliances. They all but physically kicked us out. read more

It's a pretty standard Home Depot. Wood, paint, nice garden section. Unfortunately, the employees are, pretty much across the board, incredibly rude. I get a lot of "Hey there, little girly, why don't you have a man come help you with this?" and quite a few "Do you know what you want or what?" comments - that is, when not just being completely ignored, which is the majority of the time. I got keys the other day and 6 employees just looked at me standing there and walked off to talk at one of the registers. I go there, and it's fine for keys or just running in, but be prepared to be talked down to or ignored. read more

We stopped in here today to pick up some lawn & garden items. This location is on the smaller size for the Depot. It doesn't have a full selection like you'll find at other stores, but it's my favorite simply because the staff is always extremely helpful and friendly. We live right around the corner and I feel like the staff is family after remodeling our house over the last year. We all quickly got on a first name basis, and there's something awesome about knowing the folks you are purchasing from. I know this is a chain, but this location doesn't feel like one. When we were checking out today, I noticed that the credit card machines now have a "Pay with PayPal" option. Smartest idea ever! How many times have you been in the middle of a home renovation project where you had to stop and run to the hardware store? How much easier would it be if you didn't have to worry about having your wallet on hand? Forget the Depot, every store should do this. Such an added convenience. read more

I've visited this store numerous times with family and alone, but have never been lucky enough to find and purchase what I needed. The store and parking lot is always messy and the employees are no help. I went in yesterday looking for an item that was listed on the website as stocked, but struggled to find the item or help (the store wasn't busy at all). My daughter and I walked around for a while searching for it before we decided to find an employee (we seen none during our search). We found an unloader (who was pleasant) but directed us to find two other employees at their desk. Well, no one was at either location, so we wandered again and finally found and employee who directed us to an aisle that did not have anything close to what we were searching for. So, we wandered a little more before giving up. I will not be returning. Lowe's or Ace will be my go to hardware store in the future. Don't waste your time or gas visiting this store. I've had mixed results at this location. Sometimes I quickly find exactly what I'm looking for, and sometimes it's like pulling teeth. Employee (checking her magic bar code machine): Which Home Depot do you prefer? Me: This one.... And ringing up loose hardware has been a little scary, since they don't have a way to note the price or UPC code -- we must've stood there for ten minutes getting it all sorted out, for ten and thirty cent nuts and washers. However, I can usually find what I need here, or at least something that will work. They also have a great selection of lawn and garden items, and when we checked out in that department, the cashier seemed genuinely concerned that we had found everything we needed -- shocking, in Midtown! I am always able to find everything that I need rather quickly and easily. The staff here are AMAZING. Easily some of the most well trained staff at a home improvement store I've ever seen. This has to be the worst Home Depot in the country. It's not very often I find everything I need. But today was a mess. I was fixing a leaky faucet (I've never done this before) and needed some washers. The first time I went, I had the piece the washer goes on with me, and a guy in the plumbing department told me to get this pack of assorted washers and I'd definitely find the one I needed in the pack. It was in a sealed plastic bag, so I couldn't open it to be sure so I took his word for it. I meant to mention, I had to stand there forever waiting for him to stop chatting with someone else about BS that had nothing to do with shopping at HD. Anyway, got home and none of the washers fit. So, I go back, stand in line 20 minutes to return the washers and some caulk remover that I didn't need after all, and then found a different guy in the plumbing department. He showed me some o-rings and the package could be opened, and they fit. I was skeptical and asked him if he was sure (they were sort of narrow, and not like the flat orange one that went bad on the faucet, and he said it will absolutely work. I get home, put it on there, put everything back together and boom.... still leaks. I think the o-rings were a bad call. I'm going to a plumbing supply store tomorrow, and won't go back to Home Depot. Also, they didn't have any people checking out folks.... only self-checkout. And only 4 available. Ridiculous. LONG lines for the self-checkouts and I don't think I will ever go to this awful HD again. read more

The worst shopping experience in a long time. Spend 3.5 h in the store buying washer/dryer, that by the way stuff had absolutely no knowledge about. Than continuously ordering wrong items and overcharging me for them. The manger finally stepped in and promised to give me a 100$ to make it right. The order was still incorrect and when I talked to the home depot phone service, they were shocked by the incompetence. Making long story short and 2 dryer later, with multiple calls on my part, the promised credit was just a promise. I would suggest using other store or Laws perhaps. read more

I just spoke to a manager on March 19, 2016. His name was Chuck. His customer service was unprofessional. We were trying to resolve the problem of a rental power washer breaking. He was incredibly unfriendly, and just kept saying you have to pay. So we paid 91.89 for a product that failed to work for our entire rented time. home depot. so clutch. closest home department type of store to western memphis / the island / downtown / midtown. so take advantage of this home depot guys!!! it has floral, trees, plants, flowers, shrubs, succulents, etc for your purchase. it has golf umbrellas for $5 (we know how bad that memphis rain gets), it has cheap duplication of keys, it has different styles of keys for you to pick from, it has home furnishings, etc. it literally has everything you would think it would have! the next closest home depot/lowe's place would be the lowe's on summer. but why would you want to deal with the traffic on sam cooper when u can just go on poplar and hit this home depot? and then hit up the planet fitness in the same plaza afterwards for a quick pump? go here. the employees are very friendly also! they're always willing to help you out and help you find things. i've heard that its very hit or miss with some of my other friends that have visited, but every time i've gone here theyve been great! read more

The most horrible customer service I have ever had anywhere. I will never shop in this store. I got the run around for over an hour trying to get my online order delivered. It was 60 bags of mulch. I buy way more than that and rent a truck there yearly. Well i was told by the rental dept since rental was out for the day to have them deliver for $20 per their advertisement and the trucks were the same size so should be no problem at all. They deliver anywhere under 35 miles and under 3000 lbs for $19.99. A BIG LIE AND FALSE ADVERTISENENT. The manager there named Art overrode the manager Tracy that finally decided to help me and refused to deliver. He never talked to me and this store is so poorly run i wish they would just close it. I should have gone to Lowes and will from now on. And Art you are a horrible manager and how you got that position is beyond my perception. read more

This location is convenient for me, and I find the inventory to be adequate. However, the employees do not seem to be helpful or proactive. I recently went to buy a new toilet for my bathroom. I needed one that had to be special ordered due to the measurements. The guy who "assisted" me acted like it was a bother and as if he did not really care about helping me. He wouldn't place an order but printed a copy of the product description and told me to go to the customer service desk or just go home and order it online. NOPE. I left the store and drove straight to Lowe's. The selection was bigger and the associate at the store enthusiastically helped me select the right one and placed the order for me. From now on, I will make the longer drive out of Midtown to a business with better customer service. read more

I wanted to write an update because I did decide to go back. I had a day off and wanted to plant some petunias. I didn't want to drive all the way to Lowe's to get them so I thought surely I can suck it up and just run in the horrid Midtown Home Depot just to get some plants. No such luck. I get there early enough that there was no crowd so that was nice. But I walk in through the plant department and make eye contact with the young woman at the register and I say hello only to be completely ignored by her. Strike one. Then I wander around and pick up a few plants. OK. This isn't so bad. I can get over the rude haint at the at the front door. Maybe she just didn't see me. Yeah right. Then I go out to the outdoor area where they have shrubs - this is kind of an annex area - and a guy is out there hosing the area off and also just finishing his cigarette. That's the last straw for me (and I"m a smoker - but I know when and where to do it). I just sat down the plants I was going to buy and left. I immediately went home and left the corporate office a detailed e-mail about it. To their credit, the regional manager and store manager did try to call me but I never called back. All the info was in my e-mail and I didn't want to talk to them. They obviously aren't very good at managing their team. What more could I have done for them? read more

Home depot is huge and they have everything. I was looking for some yard tools. They were easy to find. I was frustrated because the aisle was blocked off while they were getting a pallet off the top. It seems this should be done after hours or before hours. To block off this area in peak season for about 10 minutes wasn't a good idea. I almost left because I wasn't there for any other purpose. However, check out was easy. There were no lines and no waiting, so props for that. read more
