Great customer service. Every time going there I am greeted and helped. I am so glad they came to Minot. Compare that to Menards where it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack to get any one that will help you. Besides, Menards stuck it to us during the oil boom and the flood that we had in 2011. They jacked up their prices over 20% higher than any of the other stores in North Dakota at a time when we really needed building supplies. They had rude people that could care less about you. We'd been in the market for a new stove & had already decided on LG before stopping in. The sticker price here & at the local owned small businesses were running dollar for dollar so no real financial advantage to either, except we were led to believe there would be. First pitch military discount (didn't apply but we didn't think it would, despite the best efforts of the salesman). Then the multiple discount offers of spending xx would get you xx off, except it turned out that the pitch ALSO required getting the extended warranty. We were told we hit the minimum for free delivery. Except they changed that too & said it would actually be $39 for delivery & no, you couldn't pick it up at the store (ended up waving that, presumably because I was ready to walk away at that point) Delivery was supposed to include removing packaging and waiting for inspection. The delivery crew acted like they didn't speak English to try to get out of both. This was after being told not to let them leave without unboxing everything because there's a strict (stupid) 48hr return window because EVERYTHING is "special order" (it isn't anywhere else in town, interestingly) Last was the get the credit card pitch with a promise of 18mo interest free. That 18mo was lowered to 12mo at check out, stating the promotionhad changed... mimd you, the billing statement puts it at pay be Dec 2026... soooo, also wrong. All in all, it feels deceitful and I don't think I'll be purchasing the like from here again. read more

I needed a new stove so went in to take a look at what was offered in store. Wound up purchasing a new LG stove and Samsung compact microwave. We decided to get a Home Depot credit card because of the zero interest for 18 months. Asked the salesman if there was an annual fee which he had to seek help for that answer. The items are not on hand so they had to be ordered which wasn't a big deal as it was only about a week out. What was a surprise was the fact they wanted to charge $39 for delivery because they don't ship or recommend shipping to the store. Once the item has been delivered there is a strict 48 return window that starts as soon as your item leaves the delivery truck. He did wave the delivery fee because he told us the delivery was free which it wasn't when all the information was entered into his system. The delivery side of things went as so. A text is sent a couple days before so you have an idea when to expect your items. The first delivery time was 830am to 1230pm. A little after 7am on delivery day the new text said 745am to 845am. Opened the link and we were the next stop. They showed up around 910am. There was zero communication from the drivers so I had to rely on the website tracking. I asked them to delivery the stove and microwave to the alley out back which they did. They didn't stay around for the unboxing for me to inspect the items which also left me to dispose of all packaging materials. The Home Depot offers a military discount but it wasn't available on major appliances. So next time I need to make a purchase I will have to really think about buying at Home Depot. Between the narrow 48 timeline for returns if the item is defective, the delivery fee, and not taking the package materials with I will look at supporting a local business instead of the big box store. The prices looked to be the same as the local stores so there was no advantages using Home Depot over a local business. read more

Huge complaint, this is long. Do not use Home Depot for a new kitchen or order from KraftMaid cabinets. I put this off hoping they would do the right thing. Well, they didn't so here is a snapshot of the frustration. I shoukd have posted in the beginning. Ordered cabinets last July, they arrived in early September. KraftMaid sent a broken drawer (yep, sent it broken, with tape) and we received the wrong size microwave cabinet, and wrong size cabinet doors. Called the store, told it would be reordered, nope, several weeks go by, no word. I go check on, they had not been ordered. Promised they would be, well, it took being passed off to 9 different people before had to get the store manager involved. Promised it would be taken care of, it still took several weeks after that. Finally get the new drawers and microwave cabinet, but not doors. That took 6 rounds, they would either come damaged, or wrong size. It was finally finished in late May. We also decided to just "live with" other issues such as shorter cabinets and a cabinet that wasn't wide enough and tall cabinets that were too deep as we didn't want to delay the project. They promised a "discount" after it was finished. What was offered was an insult after the multiple phone calls that went nowhere, the time, the STRESS, the being lied to (we'll take care of it). Over the years in 2 other states, I have done several projects with HD, kitchens, windows, floors, doors, etc. well, after this, never again. read more

Went to get a fresh Christmas tree and the lady working outdoors clearly hates her job and wanted to be disrespectful and talk down to me like I don't know what's going on. Spent $300 on just lights and stuff but ended up not getting our tree because why would I spend anymore money somewhere the worker wants to talk down to me cause we needed it wrapped to take home. Usually do all our big purchase shopping like our washing and dryer but will not be going there anymore. read more

I spent 2 hours getting SKUs for a Will Call on 10/29/16 and was told when I ordered that it would be ready 10/30/16 and I told the cashier and also another who I assume was a manager, I was picking it all up on that day anyway. Asked a friend to drive up there with a trailer to go get it all with me. Got there and it took 15 mins just for them to tell me it wasn't even picked. I asked for a manager and told the manager I didn't have time to wait or to get it the next day and if they couldn't deliver it Monday they could return it all. The manager, Daniel, said his truck would be full and couldn't deliver so since time is something I can't get back I want nothing to do with Home Depot anymore. Couldn't accommodate to fix their own screw up. read more

Worst Home Depot I have ever been to. I bought Carpet and DMX underlayment from there, then they installed half of the carpet and refused to finish the rest. Then they fabricated a story of saying I was being rude to the workers, because I was confused on why they would do half a job and then stop. Save yourself some pain and go through someone else for carpet! read more

I bought a Toro lawn mower and used it two times before the wheel fell off. Went back to the store to find out if I could return it for a new one or have someone repair it under manufacture warranty. They told me that unfortunately they would not replace it and I would have to contact the manufacture, furthermore, they do not have a repair shop. She had me talk to someone in the rental dept. and he directed me to someone that sold me a universal bolt to put the wheel back on (that didn't work) So I contacted the Toro web site and they gave me two Toro dealers that do warranty repairs. Morel of the story..... buy the products from a dealer that does warranty work on the stuff that they sell! read more

Had order carpet to be installed in my basement, there was concern with moisture being that the floor underlayment was concrete slab. As an architectural designer I researched and found that the best solution would be to add an underlayment that would create a sub floor barrier of 1/4" so that if there were to be any moisture it would flow under the underlayment and keep the carpet and pad separate from any moisture. I tried staying loyal to Home Depot by ordering a new system exclusively sold by them called the DMX one step. We installed and had it ready to go for when the carpet installers would come they could install right over it. Multiple times while ordering, I had already purchased the DMX before the carpet, I tried telling them about the underlayment and what I needed to tell the installers and if would be ok. Well they kept pushing it off to the next person that they would discuss it with me or they wouldn't give the the installers information. Well the day of when I talk to the installer I mentioned the underlayment to him and to make sure he had long enough concrete nails to make it through the underlayment. His guys came and the began the install process, half way through homedepot called me and said they refuse to install the carpet and won't warranty the product because of the underlayment. After hours of arguing, we had to rip out all the work we put into the product that was supposed to protect the carpet. They did return us the underlayment. ....... well that being said after two weeks we got a really big storm with 3 inches of rain in 30 mins, the basement flooded a bit and now the carpets soaking wet!!! If the system that Home Depot made me pull out was installed the water would have been separated by a barrier and this issue would have been prevented as foreseen. Now I'm left with muddy ruined carpet two weeks after it being installed. I really believe that Home Depot has no real concern for a customers best interest or for the interest in innovation in the building and design industry, corporate regulation rules their though process and it's not to the benefit of the consumer!! read more

I gave a two-star rating out of five because up to now, I've been fairly pleased with the Minot, ND Home Depot store, but that changed yesterday. On 03/12/18, I ordered a dishwasher online. It was to have been delivered and installed yesterday afternoon 03/17/18. On an online chat with a Home Depot agent shortly before I ordered the dishwasher, I asked about delivery and installation, since the purchase information stated delivery and installation was included in the purchase price. I wanted to make absolutely sure that was the case. I had checked with two other business in town that sell dishwashers, and one did not offer installation, (but had a list of installers available,) and the other offered delivery and installation at an additional cost. Yesterday afternoon, the delivery people called to let me know the dishwasher was on the way. They asked me if I had everything ready. I asked them what they meant. They meant had I had a "licensed plumber" out to disconnect the current dishwasher and get everything set up so they could install the new one. What?! Again, there was no mention anywhere in the information on the dishwasher on the website or any mention from the agent about needing anything done ahead of time - except to make sure the delivery truck could get to the location, and the pathway from the entry door to the location of the dishwasher was not blocked. Where do you find a licensed plumber who will come to your location on a Saturday afternoon with no notice ahead of time to help install a dishwasher?! I immediately called the manager at the local Minot, ND Home Depot and explained the situation. She spent a long time looking through all the information on the dishwasher and the few installation instructions, and as I had already discovered, there was nothing about a plumber or anything else needing to be done ahead of time in preparation for the arrival of the dishwasher. Finally, she told me apparently some Home Depot stores offer "complete" installation service, but the one here does not. Why wasn't there some mention somewhere about this? I would never have bought a dishwasher from Home Depot had I known this. When the two guys arrived at my house with the dishwasher, I refused delivery. They told me they would take the dishwasher to the local store, and I would have to go to the store for a refund, which I will do. I looked up information on returning a special order, and it states a 15% restocking fee may be charged. I sure hope not! I will no longer do business with Home Depot. read more
