Don't order anything from this place for delivery and installation. They will happily take a thousand dollars of your money and never show up. You will never be contacted. You will not be able to call them. They will simply disappear after wasting days of your time. Never again. Home Depot: I'm not filling out your form. I wasted fourteen hours yesterday waiting for this and another hour on the phone with your people and they could only offer me a refund and had no idea where my grill is. Keep your form, I'm ordering from Lowe's. UPDATE: The identical grill at the identical price just arrived at my house. From Lowe's. I got notifications and emails the day before, texts and calls from the driver the morning of delivery. It was delivered at the beginning of a 4-hour window instead of making me wait fourteen hours for nothing. I was able to track the delivery van directly in the app. They put the grill exactly where i asked and were incredibly pleasant. Ridiculous amount of time waiting over a month for a refund. I had returned a defective washing machine and was able to get that amount refunded, but some glitch in their system didn't allow them to refund the protection plan. Because I had used a debit card, I had to go into the store to get this refunded, but after 4 trips, including today when I had been told that they could just give my cash, still no refund. After waiting 10 minutes for the customer service manager to become available, and another 20 minutes waiting for her to try to get a manager to sign off on her giving me the refund, I left because she was still unable to get this done. They offered me at that point a store credit, but I need the cash, and frankly, don't want to be forced to give them $120 of my money in future purchases. BAD customer service. read more

For starters, and maybe not the fault of HD, but being opened one hour before closing, the parking lot was pitch black AS IF there had been an outtage - no SAFE visibility whatsoever. Now onto bigger an better things. We minimally waited a half hour for ONE employee at CUSTOMER SERVICE to complete a couples transaction. I shouted out " are you making eggs and toast over there" Even a single mother of two young children told her eldest to get them bottled cold water from the refrigerator case in fear of running into hypoglycemia. no air flow - no hydration. We ordered a refrigerator and the delivery guys dropped it!! There are now dents on the door and on the inside of one of the doors. When he dropped the frig it fell on it's face. One of the doors opened as it feel. We're really not that concerned with the cosmetics so much (we'd gladly order a scratch and dent appliance if the price is right) but the HD's way of compensating was so poor we refused their "generous" offer of a 20% refund so we elected to get it replaced. Somehow I think this is going to cost them more than 20% of the purchase price to replace this. I just don't get it. We're getting the new replacement refrigerator from Whirlpool. I wouldn't feel confident having HD deliver anything ever! read more

Delivered a severely damaged stove to our home, customer service hung up on my husband, offered no compensation and no way to get a replacement for days. They left the broken one in our home for a week. We had to buy one from PC Richards who were outstanding, next day delivery, helpful delivery staff, even gave a $100 gift card when they had to come back to being the Propane conversion kit. Never again will we use Home Depot. We have two stoves in our house now (one in our living room because we have no room) until Monday. read more

Please read my original review as that clearly states ALL you need to know. So last week I had to have a water boiler replaced. My plumber retired, everyone else was on vacation or too busy to return my inquiries so I was unexpectedly forced to come here (something I KNOW better to AVOID!), buy my new unit and use their Installation Services. Well, I bought the water boiler with no problem, but trying to use their Installation Services was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole! FOUR days just to schedule and to get two answers to be consecutive, and worse... ONLY TO HAVE A NO SHOW on the day they (Mr. Plumber) was scheduled to install! When I contacted them directly, I was told they never received the paperwork to do the job! Long story short... I think family members not hired to work at this store work at the Installation Services Call Center! Four days of daily back-and-forth calls only to have nothing ever done! The most unhelpful store I have ever been in. The associates purposely try to avoid eye contact so they don't have to help you. I looked for an associate in lumber for 10 minutes and when I finally found one and asked where what I was looking for was I was interrupted with "uh good morning". Like I was such an awful person for asking for what needed help with for the last 10 minutes. Then no one helped me get what I needed even though it was larger than I could carry. Someone shopping at the store came over to help me because they could see I was struggling so badly. Only then did someone help me from the store, I gave them some cash for helping and instead of finishing what we were doing he walked away counting how much I had given him. Go to Lowe's instead! Home Depot acts like they can do it all but they can't. They need to realize they can only do as good as their personnel. I placed a simple order for delivery. The delivery person showed up with 15 of the expected 54 cases of flooring material. Why? Because he didn't have time to wait for the rest to be loaded on his truck. Told the store it would be okay with the customer, made the partial delivery but reported it as complete. It has been an ongoing fiasco to straighten out. well, bought ( my carpenter did actually ) some HD brand trex like decking..needed a few more boards for a ramp and they didn't have any of color in stock so he ordered the extra pieces. it took longer to arrive and ramp was needed, so got ramp built and carpenter went to cancel order. They wouldn't give any money back. So, had to get manager who also didn't want to do anything..gave a fraction back.. for the baloney "restocking" fee ..SO BEWARE PEOPLE ..even though it doesn't say specifically on receipt ..they will try and keep all your money. We ordered TWO VANITY MIRRORS! Both of them were messed up. The first one, the light didn't work. The second one, the MIRROR was BROKEN and CRACKED. I am so tired of them. I have to go back and forth because every time we need to get something, it's BROKEN, it's the wrong one, or its MISSING A PIECE. The customer service is horrible. If you ask them something, their answer is either "Um I'm not sure" or "Um I'll ask this other guy and you can go to him". They make you walk around in circles looking for one thing. One of the worst Home Depot's I have ever been to. Everytime I come here there's always an issue staff does not want to help you and when you do find a staff member that wants to help you they are surrounded by other people wanting help as well. I needed a lot of spray paint and I saw a box was on the top shelf but I know you're not allowed to use their step ladder. Even if you use it I'm sure they wouldn't say anything if it wasn't their department, which I did ask a worker in the aisle for help and he said this wasn't his area. I'm sure they don't want you to use their stepladder due to liability. Brewster Home Depot is completely different but so far out of the way for me. But maybe it's just my luck. I will treck to brewster if I don't feel like going that far, I will go to Lowes in Yorktown. read more

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator about a year ago. Last month, the ice maker stopped working for no reason. The whole unit was frozen. We called the warranty company and sent us the new parts and scheduled a technician to come. This past Saturday, 12/10/22, the technician was at my house for 4 hours and could not fix the unit. His recommendations to Home Depot and the warranty were a full replacement of the refrigerator. I called today so I can work on getting my new " replacement " refrigerator, and all of a sudden, the Home Depot warranty depot can not find my claim or any of my information. How funny is it that they lost all my information when they had to replace a $2,500 refrigerator. This place is the worst to deal with. I will no longer buy anything from this trash Depot. I'm calling the BBB and the New york State Attorney General. Then, take them to small claims court. Stay away from them. Plus, stay away from any of their flooring as well. One year after laying down flooring, it's all lifting up. read more

Mid morning yesterday I ordered a riding mower from this store, the app and website said it was in stock at Cortlandt and I could have it delivered the next day. I paid for a two hour window for it to be delivered 6am-8am. 8:30am comes around. No delivery. Call the store. Wait on hold for 15 minutes. The staff say "oh you did order it from our store but it's actually coming from Monroe." Let us call Monroe and we will get back to you. They never call back. I call them back at 9:15a the person on the phone is very over worked and clearly doesn't care about my issue, uses my last name as my first name and joking around. I make it clear I'm not in a joking mood. And they need to take this more seriously. They quickly do. They call the Monroe store. Oh yeah it's ready to go it will arrive at your place around noon. And we will refund the $109 delivery fee. 12:45p comes around still no delivery. I call my store again. They say let us contact the store and we will call you back I say I'll hold. Intermittent check ins with me over he next hour I'm on the phone with them. Every time they keep asking for my order number. They've asked so many times I've memorized it. They say "oh it was ready to go but the driver didn't see it on the route so they did not pack it in the truck. They can't deliver it until tomorrow." I inform them this is completely unacceptable. On another very long hold...they finally come back with that store will put it on their truck and deliver it to you. It should leave in the next 30 minutes...and also do not call us again contact Monroe directly. So time will tell if the mower shows up soon. But they already passed the buck. The corporate support line just tells me to call the local store. As soon as Lowe's opens I'm never shopping at Home Depot again. This store is just awful. The staff are friendly but it's clear they are over worked and have little power to fix something when a problem arises. UPDATE: They missed that window too! read more

This is a review for Cortlandt Manor/Mohegan Lakes flooring department. I am incredibly disgusted with their flooring department. In October our dishwasher flooded the entire kitchen and part of the laundry room so we had to quickly get a floor in. We had also ordered cabinets from their store and had to get the floor in before the cabinets were put in. We ordered flooring the day before Thanksgiving. Measuring was done 2 x prior to the order. 2 weeks later we had our expensive hardwood flooring delivered in the rain on the curb soaked when we were told they delivered it over the threshold. Asked them to pick up and reorder which took a month. Not to mention it took them 2 weeks to pick up the soaked wood that was sitting in my house which I had numerous amount of calls to the store holding for 20 minutes at a time trying to get the soaked wood out of my house. Once the hard wood was redelivered I was not only sent my order but another pallet of laminate that I ordered and cancelled before the formal order was placed the day before Thanksgiving. We sat with the girl for 2 1/2 hours going over everything, explaining our situation including we are looking for this to work with the timing of the kitchen install. Meanwhile our Kitchen is delivered and in our living room all the furniture where the flooring is in my bedroom. This is now Dec 27. I don't hear from anyone in the floor dept so I call the contractor (thank goodness I had his #) He told me he could start right away but needed the rest of the items (nails molding etc) which was at the shore. He calls me up a few hours later and tells me he can't get anyone to help him at the store. He is being passed around on the phone. I call store to see if I can get through and finally after 40 mins I get someone and get it arranged. Still no one from the flooring dept has called, checked on me etc. Finally the day of the install. It comes to a screeching halt because Home Depot did not arrange with the contractor to rip up existing floor. So we had to talk them into just ripping it up. Finally after 4 days the project comes to another screeching halt- not enough floor was ordered. We had our floor measured 2 times - how can this happen. I called the store again finally after more time on hold and being passed around I got someone in Customer Service to help me. Long story short I was able to start cabinets because that part of the floor was done but the undone spot sat for a month. The case of wood to complete came into the store and someone sent it back by accident. Meanwhile my husband and I were down at the store every other day spending 45 mins to 2 hrs trying to track this case of wood. No one followed up No one knew what was going on. Nothing, crickets.... finally when the second delivery came to the store my husband picked it up (after standing around the store for close to 2 hrs while they found it) And guess what - no calls no checking on us no arranging the floor contractor to finish. Of course we had to arrange again. When done - I heard nothing. The next week after being on hold for 25 minutes I finally got someone who was going to firm up the order credit us some of the extra things that were on the order that were unnecessary. She said she would call back in a few days. I called the store left 2 messages and finally called Corporate Home Depot because I was done. This was ridiculous. They sent some mediator and try to turn the whole problem into something that wasn't their fault. Made a bunch of excuses and turned it on me by saying I owed money to them because of the rip up of the floor. Which was clearly discussed and I thought taken care of. For my troubles I was offered approx 10% discount which I thought that was lame. Ohh I forgot to mention the pallet of laminate that sat in my garage for a month. I didn't own it and Home Depot didn't have records of it. They finally picked up this huge thing that was blocking me from using my garage. We have spent over 100K in services and hardware items since that store opened. We believe in shopping locally. I will NEVER EVER shop at that store again. read more

They look convenient and cheap, but products are often low quality and store policies are ridiculous. Bought a portable generator yesterday. My car was really too small to take it home, but the enthusiastic employees took the generator out of the box and crammed it into the back seat, in the process (as I noticed later) scratching the inside of the door and tearing the rear seat upholstery. Put gas and oil in the generator, it started fine, but produced no electricity. Today neighbor who is an engineer came over and noticed that a metal cowling had been knocked inward somehow (dented, paint peeling off), and had cut through the wire protector and the wires. It was nothing that I did; I know if I'd hit it against anything hard enough to do that, I would remember. Took the unit back to Home Depot expecting to just get a replacement, and was told that since I had put gas in it all they can do is "send it out for repair, free of charge". That is, I get to suffer for the fact that they are selling damaged goods. So at the moment I'm looking at getting a refurbished generator two months from now, for the full price of a new one from stock, because Home Depot's official policy cares only about their bottom line, not their customers or their reputation. Very, very, dissatisfied, and will go somewhere else next time, if there's anything that they haven't driven out of business yet. read more

You need to get you employees on the proverbial same page. When my Husband went in on Thursday 8/22 he was given information by a manager on how to rent a truck and she gave him prices, rental time, overage, etc. We went in on Sunday to rent said truck and Paul, who was at the main desk told us something entirely different. He was also most unpleasant and if I'm in HD again, I would avoid him at all costs. He was rude, grumpy and overall not very helpful. It seemed the majority of the employees at this particular location are rude and just not very helpful. There is also a long wait time when the particular person needed to do a certain job isn't around. Perhaps train your staff better to accommodate in these situations. Sadly this is the only option in the immediate area and they know it too. read more

I am so grateful to Anthony of Home depot. My husband and I are at stage one of a kitchen remodel. We do not know the first thing about drywall, plaster, ect but like to help out our contractor with Home depot runs when we are around to check the progress. Anthony was so helpful and knew where everything was in seconds. He also set us up with another great employee John in the front of Home depot area when we were ready to leave and get drywall pieces wrapped on the top of our car. He said goodbye and walked back to his area. What impressed me the most was when he was done with his shift. Anthony took the time to walk over to us and ask us if everything was ok. He gave Jonathan the rope that we would be using for the car and checked the top of our car. Anthony talked about protecting our moon roof with anything we had in the car. I remembered an old blanket I left in the trunk and used that. That was so sweet of him to do all that for us on his time. He went above and beyond in my book. read more

I am not a contractor, I'm a home owner. When I needed a screw to (hopefully) fix a sliding drawer in the kitchen, I had 2 choices, here or the one remaining hardware store, a mile or so further away than HD. I go to the local hardware store and get 1 screw and the guy says "Have a nice day and I hope it works". Yeah, the 5 cents wouldn't have changed anybody's life, but here I would have had to buy a package of 30. And take one look at the near constant line to return items. I'm trying to order a simple stair runner--but it's fair to say I enjoyed my last colonoscopy more than I'm enjoying this experience with the Mohegan Lake Home Depot. I have called this store literally 20-25 times over the last two weeks and been astounded by the level of confusion and incompetence. Each time I call, they send me in an endless series of circular transfers, and at times they've put me on hold for as long as 40 minutes. Today, on my 6th or 7th attempt, when I finally got through to the actual flooring department--and was feeling elated-- they hung up on me. When I got through a second time, they said my order had been deleted--and then accidentally hung up on me as we started to place it again. (I am being quite patient and polite so I don't think any of this is intentional!) My nine-year-old nephew is listening to all this happen on speaker phone and is finding it hilarious. To be fair, in the many hours I've devoted to this mission, I've spoken with some very nice individuals--including several managers. However, they don't seem to have any sort of system in place for answering or transferring phone calls. It's truly astounding. This is not the result of a single incompetent individual--it's a systemic problem with the way the store is staffed and organized, After three weeks of this, I'm no closer to placing to order. I'm currently on hold again after speaking to two different people who promised to connect me to flooring. I would love to order this from another store, but my contractor wants me to use this location so he can pick up the carpet. I live in a remote area without a lot of options. HELP! read more
