I stopped here to get some supplies for a project I was working on. When I went on their website, they said this location had what I needed. So I drove over there. They didn't have what I was looking for. An employee helped me and informed me of the materials they had in stock that I could use to finish up my project. For simple items that won't need service, e.g., disposables or basic hand tools, their prices are tough to beat. For items that might need service, e.g., electrical or pneumatic tools, generally only a 30 or 90-day warranty is included. They offer paid extensions, but I prefer to stay with major brands, such as Milwaukee or Makita, which offer a full five-year warranty on most products and build quality tools that are unlikely to fail during the warranty period. Store personnel, in my experience, have been generally knowledgeable and accommodating, and will quickly get a manager to help if the issue is beyond their training or authority level. read more

June 5, 2026 came here for a few Sale items, and Joe the Manager at the front register was wonderful she took great care of me. The other women at the register was wonderful as well, sorry I didn't capture her name. The store is clean with every tool you can imagine, with lots of great prices. The only suggestion I have to customers is check the price of the original item against the discount listed in the flyer to make sure the cash register is deducting the correct Sale price. All and all, Joe the Manager she was wonderful. read more

I never thought I'd stop here for anything- just because hubs is loyal to Lowe's for a lot of our home needs (or Home Depot coming in at 2nd). But I was actually here for a kitchen appliance out of all things. I visited Bed Bath & Beyond and found out those guys don't carry electric meat grinders on the spot- but you could order online. I wanted something I could pick up right away and give to my Mom for Christmas- and not wait after New Year's to receive it by mail. So what to do? Sorry Yelp but Google actually helped me with this one when I typed 'meat grinders near me' and Harbor Freight was in the lineup. I called before coming here and someone said they carry them. Win! Without reading my friend Chun's review, I came here anyway. Noticed how neat this shop is and also noticed how incredibly cheap prices are and at that moment I really felt: "this is too good to be true". The 'Home Appliance' section isn't big at all but has a few basic stuff: plastic food containers I think, small Ketchup or mustard bottles and a few other things plus that meat grinder (waiting for me). To be honest, the grinder I purchased is from a brand I've never heard of. Didn't give the (unknown) brands much thought but I kept seeing more and more labels I didn't recognize. None. But anyhow... My Mom's unknown brand electric meat grinder came in at $57 (doable) with a 90 day exchange policy. Bed Bath however- has a Cuisinart (brand we ALL know) at $74.99 with the same exchange policy. Service was nice with no issues. We'll stick to our tried and true home stores that are reliable. But I think Harbor will work for you if you want to do your place up on the cheap. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with HF unfortunately, only because I always wind up buying tons of stuff I never would have bought if I were trying to find a tool or product I needed at the big box stores. They have so many gadgets and toys that are just a few bucks that you instinctively throw them in your cart. Last time I went for a compound miter saw and wound up with that, as well as a table saw, stands and extra blades for both, clamps, a hose, a laser level, a framing hammer, a rake, and a few other small toys that I paid about $800 total for. Needless to say, I only expected to buy the $120 sale miter saw - I was busy for days arranging my tool shed with my new array of implements. The tools are by no means commercial- but for the few times a year I use them, they are perfect for me and my family. They work well, have advanced features, and do the job. You are always rolling the dice when you are going for one of the featured "sale" products being available- many times you are better off trying to see if it is available online first with free shipping before visiting the store. This location itself is not the best as far as available stock, organization, and staff knowledge/help - but they are pretty much on par with most other stores these days - it's hard to find good help willing to work these lower paying jobs that seriously want to commit to the business and customer service. Other locations I've visited such as the Wappengers/Poughkeepsie store and the Rockland store have much better selection and product availability. The staff is still not much better but again - these are the days we live in. I kinda wish there was a location closer to me in Northern Westchester, and I am SURE that if they put one her it would be a goldmine for them - but then again I would probably need another 2 tool sheds, and I would be broke and divorced - LOL. All in all, everyone that goes into HF - whether they are a tool nut or don't know a screwdriver from a pliers, they will come out of that store with some purchase. It's just way too tempting. It's a discount candy store for tools and gadgets. Bring your coupons!!! read more

Merely tried to call and ask a question about a product, and could not get anyone on the phone. Three times I was placed immediately on hold, and each time waited over 10 minutes, wasting a 1/2 hour of my time. If their customer service is so poor that they cannot answer the phone properly, then why would I support them by purchasing their products. Unacceptable! read more

First, the products: Great selection, widely varying quality. If you're looking for a simple mechanical item such as a pair of pliers or a tool chest to hold them, you usually can't go wrong. Note that they carry several different lines, in the ok, good, better, schemes. And many carry lifetime warranties. But electrically or air-powered tools, which of course are more susceptible to requiring service, often only have a 90-day warranty. For occasional use as a DIYer, these are often perfectly adequate. And optionally you can buy an extended warranty if you think you'll be subjecting the tool to heavy use. Service at the White Plains store also varies in quality. Sometimes I've been helped by employees who were knowledgeable, courteous, and professional, other times by ones who had no ideas about their products or how to interact with a fellow human. If the person can't help, ask if they can get a manager or another employee who knows the particulars of the category you're looking for. read more

The handle fell of my grandmothers freezer. I went in with the handle and Marlon went out of his way to ensure I had the correct tool (opening and testing several options). Extremely helpful! He was even apologetic that they only sold what I needed in sets - the set was $6! read more

You've probably seen their flyers in the Sunday paper. What? You don't read newspapers? Then you've gotten their sales booklets in the mail. You don't do snail mail? Email? Whatever way you get your mail, make sure to bring or print your coupons before you shop at Harbor Freight. Even if you don't, there are flyers in the store. Just about everything they stock has gone on reduced sale price at some time or another. There's a blanket 20% off coupon in every weekly flyer, so you never have to pay full price. On top of that, there are also 3 coupons for FREE stuff, that vary between LED flashlights, screwdrivers, meters, tarps, batteries and more. I already have flashlights in every room of the house and in each car from all the visits to other HF stores. The tools may not be big name brands, but quality is not too bad. They'll get the job done at a lower cost than Sears, Home Depot or Lowe's. read more

I come from a Southern racing family, and my son (about to turn 16) is a budding mechanic and gearhead. I'm proud of him. I'm organizing what amounts to a vast amount of mechanics as heirlooms for him, and I needed a big box to put them in. Top and bottom, larger than my old ones. The US General Gen 2 boxes are good quality. The bottom piece was on sale as low as it gets. I figured I'd grab it, and wait for the top to go on sale. I called the local store, White Plains, NY, around 7:45 p.m. today, the Friday after Thanksgiving, to see if the one I wanted was in stock (red). They said yes. I asked them woman if she could hold it briefly, she took my name and said yes. I drove over immediately (1/2 hour). Got there and spoke to the same woman, very nice, remembered my name and immediately grabbed a couple of guys to get it from the back. Turned out, the only red one they had in stock was damaged. They offered it to me for a good price, but it was a little too messed up, even at that price. They had a top in red, and I said I'd take that if it was at a sale price, but it wasn't. But after some chatting, and just about every employee in the store pitching in to look and help, they let me have the top at a sale price, and gave me a "pre-sale" on the bottom. Great deal all around and I was very pleased. Took the top home, and will pick up the bottom before Christmas. So all that's good. But, the reason for my review is not that - it's that the staff were all so helpful, cheerful, friendly, just all around pleasant. I know they had worked hard all day - it's Black Friday (or whatever they call it). And it was about closing time when we finished loading the box in my van (two guys helped). But they never stopped being helpful, and just generally very nice. You can get good deals, if you work at it. And you can find good people, if you're lucky. To get both, at a Box Store, on Black Friday, in the NYC suburbs, is a near miracle. Whatever HF or that store management are doing, they're doing it right. Kudos to them, and to their staff. read more

Lady working at the register was extremely rude and her attitude was absolutely disgusting. The customer had shown her a discount he wanted for his items and she was rolling her eyes and cussing under her breath. Don't take your anger out on the customers just because you hate your job. Change your attitude or get a better job. read more

I was a big fan of this location until today! The manager today stopped to tell me never to bring my service dog inside again. He then concocted a story that my dog had an accident in the store, embarrassing me in front of other customers. Other managers at this location have been warm and welcoming to my dog. The manager today apparently is a dog hater. To finish the experience, the cashier was extremely rude and unhelpful! read more

Here is my review for this establishment, Employee turnover constantly, this past friday morn, I rushed here for some low cost tools, in an isle the female manager approaches me, States hows it going, I reply ok, minding my own business, i move to another isle seeking more tools, She approaches me again, sobhow are you doing? She needs to stop attempting to purposely distract me snd the audacity to detain me for a relationship/friendship, Annoyed I move from that isle, Take my selections up front and the cashier off the bat has an attitude, I distinctively asked to have my selections in two separate sales, one for a friend one for me, The cashier deliberately adds all items to the same sale, Now she calls the attention of the manager following me throughout the store, i hand coupons and she refused to honor my coupons, ok walking out. I will come with my love next time and we will see if the manager is still interested and pursueing a relationship. read more

Harbor Freight is basically the greatest tool store on Earth that sells things like the above mentioned, and then heaters, etc. The only one around here was in Saddle Brook, NJ, so I had to drive miles and over a river to get there; that store had cast iron cookware, but I didn't check if this location has them too. You can imagine my glee at this opening if I had to previously drive to NJ for this chain. I usually had to plan a day in and around Teaneck to justify the trip when I needed to replenish my workshop, but now it's so easy for me, I can leave the rattle-trap in the driveway and take the number 5 whenever I need a few items. I'm still processing this information in my head; so glad they're actually here now lol. I'm in NY - not CA. Don't know why yelp says that. read more
