Avoid this place if at all possible! They are a nightmare to deal with! They are extremely rude, assure you you will be called when they're on the way but they don't, and then, because I complained about their consistent rudeness, it says "D.N.S.!!!" next to my name on the invoice. This means Do Not Sell!!! The salesman explained that they will not sell me appliances in the future -- because I complained about their rudeness and failure to call me! Spent thousands buying new appliances from this store. Bought a subzero floor model sold as just that in 2021. Started recently having issues with it and called for service only to find out they sold me a 2008 model in 2021 that now having condenser issues. When I called the store to confront them they are claiming they sold me a floor unit and have no idea why it says 2008. Subzero confirmed the date and also stated the store registered it to me in 2008 and had a previous repair in 2011. I didn't even live in my house yet. I am revising this review because the amount I was charged was not $900 but $950. Earlier review said $900. After buying many appliances from Atlantic Appliance for over twenty years, I will no longer deal with them. I recently ordered a replacement cooktop and downdraft. All went well until I was charged $950 for installation. Atlantic told me it would be COD to the installer, and would be about $400. I paid the installer $550 on the spot (for the installer and granite cutter who had to make a very slight modification in my counter. Then I discovered that Atlantic acharged my credit card an additional $400 for "basic installation." Eventually I got $175 back but I now believe they are not a worthy business. Buyer beware! After this experience I ordered my new washer from Bergers in Thornwood and was very pleased with the excellent service, delivery and install, and communication. read more

Atlantic Appliance gave my 95 year old mother top service. Upon our request, the person who delivered a microwave to her unboxed it, set it up and took away the old machine. A few days later, my mother requested that someone come out to show her how to work the microwave since she has vision problems etc. A service person was dispatched the next day. Also, when my mother thought the microwave might be broken, they offered to replace it right away. Ultimately, the machine was fine and no replacement was necessary. I'd purchased a stove from them in November and the salesman was very nice and helpful. It was a good experience. You might then ask why 2stars? Two days ago, I was in great need of anew air conditioning unit. I wanted to return to Atlantic to keep my business local. Firstly, an employee, not wearing a mask, entered in front of me. He didn't hold the door for me either. Next, I was about to head toward the location of the salesman who had sold me the stove. I was stopped by the saleswoman at the first station. She was masked but continually tugged at her mask. She was NOT at all pleasant. She scowled during the entire interaction. I knew all of the specs that I needed and asked her about the availability of a unit. She treated me like I was vermin. She had NO interest in making a sale. She informed me that I could have a unit the next day. It was very very hot. I greatly wanted to have it for that day. She did nothing to explain to me how it works with warehouses and the store. She shoved her card at me and said if I wanted to pursue it I could call. I went to Bergers They did explain the system. I won't go back to Atlantic. Unfortunate as they are very local. I tried to avoid this negative review but four months after purchasing a refrigerator from this well reviewed local company I can't hold back any longer. One stressful issue after another starting with extremely rude people answering the phone. When delivery finally came the fridge door was damaged so they did not unload it. Called store and learned it should have been presented to me for inspection. By then fridge was backordered. Numerous phone calls finally resulted in them re delivering the damaged one and ordering a new door. Delivery people damaged my wall and floor while installing (actually asking me how to shut off the water line). They spoke almost no English so I'm not sure how we were supposed to communicate about the water? The store did reimburse me for repairing the damage but offered no compensation for being without the new fridge or for the stress and time it took for me to hire someone to repair the damage they caused. New door was finally delivered and installed (its being shipped to you, no its being shipped to us, no, its being shipped to you...) We purchased a five year extended warranty and were given no paperwork but told we would receive something in the mail by Oct. When we did not I started reaching out to Abby, who said she was a family member of the owner. Abby gave me the contract number and said New Leaf (new leaf? who are they?) would email me documents that day. They never did. Numerous texts to Abby have gone unanswered. I finally googled New Leaf and called--I was able to download my contract. They told me I should have been given paperwork when I purchased the fridge. This has been a long and stressful journey that I will not embark on again for other appliance needs. I hope others can avoid what I've experienced by staying away. read more

Awful. The installer broke our counter top while installing the dish washer. They said will fix it. A month later still not fixed. They hooked up our new washer wrong. Fixed that and thought it would help the noise. But no. They sold us one that is so noisy machine that shakes and you can't even talk while it's on. They Told me to run it on a extra large wash with stuff in it when I complained, like that was the solution. And I can't do that with 9 month old that has small clothing that needs to be washed separately. They won't take machine back. Just all around bad experience after buying 7 new appliances from them. Bought a dishwasher from them. After three years it failed. I was told that I needed a full new electrical/computer panel. They came and installed it -- for great expense, since it was no longer under warranty. Two uses later, it failed again. They said they would take care of it. Now, five weeks later, they still are not responding to calls. (The repairman who worked on it is only in on Saturdays, so they need to wait to talk to him -- despite the fact that he came to my house on a weekday. They promise to call, but never do.) Also bought a new refrigerator from them. The door was completely misalighed so that it would not close. They told me that I had to go through warranty repairs with Whirlpool to get it fixed. Whirlpool came two weeks later. However, as Atlantic was installing the refrigerator, they left large gouges in my wood kitchen floor and broke off a section of the bottom plate of my door. I was warned to go elsewhere, but I though I really should support "local." Mistake. read more

Outstanding service with regard to parts. We had recently purchased a new washer and dryer at one of the big box stores and neglected to also get the stacking kit. We called said store and were bounced from line to line to being hung up on over and over again for approximately 45 minutes. We called all over, plumbers, supply stores, other big box stores. We found said part for $50 with a $60 delivery fee for two weeks. I called Atlantic Appliance spoke to Rob he said he could have it the following day after 12 noon. It was ready the following day before noon for $59. While all this was going on unrelated the center bottom washing arm on my dishwasher came loose and fell onto the heating coil. In need of a new one whilst picking up my stacking kit Atlantic Appliance came through again having the piece for an older unit the next day. Would recommend. Excellent work. Thanks! read more

I was so disappointed in my latest interaction with Atlantic Appliance. I've bought several appliances from them over the years including my Kitchen Aide dishwasher that needed repair. My initial call to the service department was met with a very rude woman. I did schedule service took a week for them to get here, the problem was diagnosed and the repair man Mike said he'd call next day to let me know when part would arrive and he could come back. 5 days later no call so I called, again service woman was rude, but was advised part would be in following Monday so we schedule him to come back Tuesday. When he came back to install new part he realized he needed another part! He checked and was advised part was in stock. He told me if I don't hear from him sooner to call Saturday to confirm it was in and he would fit me in asap to fix. Called Saturday morning again woman was rude and told me shows part not in but she would check with Mike and get back to me. She did not so I showed up at the store that afternoon to be advised the warehouse is closed on Saturdays so she could not give me any information until Monday (you couldn't tell me that over the phone that morning) Well here we are on Thursday and I've never heard from any of them. I do not recommend. I purchased a new microwave with removal of old microwave and installation of new microwave. Employee refused to remove old one as he said it was not installed safely; it has been in my kitchen for 12 years with no problem. He would not remove old one or install new one, leaving me with new microwave in box. He gave me the name of a "custom installer" who may be able to do the job. Don't offer installation services if you do not want to install. I could have ordered online for the same lack of service. read more

For years, I had been a loyal customer of Atlantic but I can only suspect that there is new management. I ordered a new dishwasher from them with installation. The installers could not do the installation. They removed the old dishwasher, promised a refund, and left. When I called my salesperson, she said she could refund only half of the installation as they did take out the old dishwasher (a 10 minute job). She said she would speak to the manager and get back to me. She did not so I called. She said that was all the manager would approve. When I asked to speak to him, she said he would get back to me. I was farely sure I would not hear from him. That was the only expectation that was fulfilled! I will nver buy from them again despite 1000's of earlier purchases (when I totally redid the kitchen) as well a desire to support local merchants. I will not make the mistake again. Bought a Bosch dishwasher on their recommendation. Within the first year it broke. Because it was still under warranty, had a Bosch service repairman come out who told me I have to "use a little screwdriver to pull the latch out" every time I use it. I did it, even though it's an incomplete repair. Less than a year after that, it failed completely. Atlantic's response is "we don't have anything to do with that, call Bosch." And then they proceeded to give me an outdated phone number and some attitude. So basically they just pocketed my $700 and do not take any responsibility for selling faulty products. We recently had our electric dryer stop working. We called Atlantic Appliance and they sent their technician, Leo, out to our house. He was very thorough and diagnosed our approximately 20 year old machine as requiring substantial repairs. I did some research beforehand so I knew his assessment was accurate. We decided to buy a new electric dryer from Atlantic and the entire process went smoothly. We met with their Salesperson, Rob, who discussed the various brands and models. There was never any pressure to buy a certain machine or even to buy from them at all. Their price was hundreds of dollars less than the closest competitor. The machine was ordered and arrived within a few days. The delivery went very well. It was a challenging location for the dryer and the delivery crew made it look easy. They took away our old one. Today we had a service call which was fine but when I called the store to order a new appliance I was treated in a very curt manner. I was constantly interrupted and told to "look it up" to see if it was what I was looking for instead of just answering my questions about the product I already was ready to purchase. In the middle of a sentence, the saleswoman also hung up on me, quite loudly . Oh well- buying my refrigerator from Lowe's instead. I recently purchased a clothes dryer from Atlantic Appliance. The in store experience was good. Salesperson was friendly and knowledgeable. During the transaction I specified the need for venting which she wrote on the receipt. The problem occurred when the dryer was delivered. When I mentioned I expected venting installed the installer was rather rude. Said he couldn't install venting through a wall and besides he only had three feet of venting in the truck. He Suggested I go to Home Depot and buy venting there. This place is bottom of the barrel. If you are looking to purchase an appliance, go somewhere else. The sales people don't know anything, they simply make up their answers to questions and constantly contradict themselves. We purchased a washer and when it was delivered and installed, the men didn't even know how to connect it right, so we had a water leak that damaged the wood underneath our tiles. That was just one of the issues we experienced with this shady company. Afterwards we used the washer and it wasn't at all as we expected. We were told by the sales people that it was quiet, quick and washed very well. THAT WAS BULL!!! The washer was super LOUD, and had a problem draining the water correctly. We called them the following day after it was delivered explaining the issue thinking they allowed you at least a 7 day, if not 30 day trial period like most placed do, but they didn't!!! Once you buy something from this pathetic store you are stuck with it! They refused to take it back and claimed they had a sign indicating that all sales were final, which was also BULL because there was no sign ANYWHERE, or at least not where it could be seen. If it was indeed visible, I wouldn't have purchased anything from this shady place. I'm sure that's why they purposely don't put it where it can be seen, otherwise, no one would ever buy from them. I was very impressed with Atlantic Appliance. An establishment is measured not only by its service when it desires your purchase, but also by its service when something goes badly. In our case, we realized our dream of a kitchen renovation after twenty five years and bought our appliances from Atlantic Appliance in Yorktown. Rob K. was the salesperson who helped us. He was personable and efficient. We purchased an entire line of high end appliances: refrigerator, dishwasher, double range oven, induction cooktop, and hood. Regretfully, when the appliances arrived, the refrigerator did not work and we also were not satisfied with the way in which the double oven aligned with the kitchen cabinets. Atlantic Appliance was easy to work with and took full responsibility, helping us negotiate with GE and replacing both the refrigerator and the double oven. The owner communicated with GE on our behalf and even came to our house to make sure the new appliances arrived and were working and installed properly. Atlantic Appliance not only had the best prices, but more importantly, our salesman, Bill was knowledgeable, personable and was able to walk us through looking at models on line, due to the COVID 19 "social distancing". I cannot imagine how difficult the situation must have been for a salesman who could not look a customer in the eye, or SHOW them the product in person! After receiving our beautiful, reasonably priced appliances, I reached out to Atlantic Appliance via e-mail on a Friday night, because I thought maybe, I smelled gas. I explained that it was intermittent and very slight, and I did not believe it was an emergency, but I did smell gas occasionally. I received a personal call on Saturday morning, and the owner himself came out first thing Monday morning to check my stove with a fancy gizmo he had. He took the time to explain that sometimes there is an odor with propane when the tank is getting low. He put my mind at ease about the gas, and he didn't make me feel like I had wasted his time for a false alarm. Bought over $15,000 of new appliances including a 48" Wolf range. We experienced an issue with the microwave a couple months after the warranty expired. Through e-mail Atlantic Appliance said I had to contact the manufacturer and could offer no assistance. My whole thought of going through a local non-big box store to purchase all of our appliances would be better service after the sale. My expectation by going through a locally owned smaller business would have benefits over the big box stores. I was proved wrong with this situation. After several calls to multiple people it was clear they offered no advantage over the big box store in terms of support after warranty coverage. In this example Atlantic Appliance has done an excellent job commoditizing their value proposition. There is no reason to pay top dollar at Atlantic Appliance. Big box stores generally offer better pricing (especially when you spend over 15k) and you would get the same service after the sale. read more

They have a person who will come out and measure your kitchen for $25 and then they will give you options for the appliance which will fit into your space. I purchased a washing machine 5 years ago from Atlantic and had them install; it's been a little glitchy for a while, but nothing that turning off and back on couldn't fix. A couple weeks ago, I couldn't get it to start no matter what tricks I tried. Now I have a 4 year old who still has nighttime accidents, a 2 year old who thinks his job is to make a mess and an infant with reflux, so my washing machine is a VIP appliance. I called a repair place who checked it out and said whoever installed mixed up the hot and cold lines and that the steam is messing up the control board, which was almost as expensive to replace as to get a new machine. My washer is in the basement and yah, I'm guilty of not being the best housewife not noticing, but clothes were clean. I called Atlantic mostly to complain, hoping maybe they could at least cover the cost of the service call. I got a call back from the owner himself, he didn't try to hustle me, offered to send his mechanic out to fix it at no cost! I am beyond happy with Atlantic and my repaired washer. They have earned a lifelong customer. Buy local and support Atlantic Appliance, if your 5 year old big box store appliance breaks, I can guarantee you the owner of Home Depot isn't going to call you back to make it right! read more
