The associate named Martinee or however you spell it, was smoking in the public bathroom! My child was in there with me and she smelled the smoke as well which was really bad for her lungs she has asthma! Not to mention shes a volleyball player so they do drug tests at her school, this could mess up er own future because of her (Martinee's) actions. I recently placed two orders for 4 pots at $86.36 each, totaling $172.72. My husband only picked up one order for $86.36. The next day, I called to request a full refund of $86.36 for the unclaimed second order, but they only refunded $43.00. I explained that we hadn't picked up the second order and asked them to verify this with video footage. Despite my explanations, the customer service representative raised her voice and assumed I was lying. I emphasized that this was the store's mistake and asked her to check their inventory. I want to resolve this issue calmly, but her insistence that we pick it up was frustrating. My account indicates a full refund should be processed after their investigation, as we haven't collected the item. This message is for the representative I spoke to on January 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM. She needs to improve her attitude and not assume customers are wrong. It's essential to remain calm and request a customer's number to follow up after investigating. Lady customer service should focus on helping customers, not trying to fight or arguing customers. If you figure out your store is wrong please say sorry to them! read more

The worst service all around! When you call the store, you're put on hold and no one ever answers. When you go to the store and ask about your order delivery and install, it takes about 10 minutes or more to get an answer from a knowledgeable associate that has any idea of how delivery installation orders work. I have placed a delivery order in June 2023 and it's now August 2023 and I have yet to receive the delivery to my home to be installed. Scheduled delivery with them is a disaster. Don't trust that it will come within the time window they give. Don't trust that it will come there even that day. The driver carrying my items called and said he was ten minutes away. No one came. No one answered the phone. I called the store and after being put on hold for a half hour, they tell me the driver never picked up the items in the first place. Delivery was rescheduled the next day. The same guy calls the next day, outside of the time window, and drops off the items. It was the same guy from before that I spoke to on the phone, so I asked him what happened. He said his truck broke down, and that his phone also broke. From what the store told me, I knew that none of that was true, and it gave me real pleasure to ridicule him for lying to my face. My work got delayed for a day and I'll probably waste a couple more hours lodging a complaint. I wouldn't usually waste my time complaining, but this was truly insane. read more

Oh god this place is painful to go to. Before you even get inside there are shopping carts strewn around the parking lot. Then there are the people lingering around the lot/store begging for money or asking to carry your stuff. Now we've gotten past them, NOW we get into the store and its like maximum security going in and out. I guess there is alot of theft around. Now we get to the isles and there is no one organizing them, keeping the stock in the right places, just very disorganized. Try your best to find someone to help you and you will be disappointed. Even moreso look for someone who knows what their doing is even worse. The overall customer service experience is just painful. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I'm always satisfied after leaving this store. It's right in my old neighbor and really close to work. So when I need things either going to or coming home from work, I can always stop here. I don't typically get much from Home Depot as I'm not a contractor or in construction. I got some medium boxes, 4 to be exact and their just $1.21 cent each, which came out to $5.01 after taxes. Talk about a bargain. I mostly come here to have keys made and that's the part that makes this a 4 star rather than a 5 star. This Home Depot could take a lesson from Lowe's and automate the key making process. I get that what Home Depot does by having an actual key maker handy is provide a job to the member of the community. However, more often than not, there's no one there at the kiosk and you can wait for 5-15 minutes for someone to get there. The other annoying part is having to pay for a spare key before it's made. Darn thieves making things harder for us honest folk. All in all its a great big location with really knowledgeable and helpful staff. I've not reason not to keep going, but if I can get my keys made at Lowe's I will. read more

I don't know much about the selection of actual home-building materials and equipment, but every time I've come here, they've always had what I was looking for. I think management should teach their employees to be more proactive in assisting customers... I remember when I went to the Home Depot back at home I'd get asked "Need help finding something?" almost every time I passed an unoccupied employee. If I did need help, the employee would escort me to the product. Well at this Home Depot, it seems like I have to do the asking and the searching, both of which are fine by me. I was just at Home Depot and had lost phone and wallet. It was taken away when it was in the cart while my sister and I were loading our stuff. Thankfully I had find my iPhone and was able to see it was within the store after it was taken about 10 blocks away and back. Thank you the security guards that were helping me out the entire time. Just your typical Home Depot as they usually have what you are looking for BUT the employees don't have the service level like the suburban stores do. I'll fault management on that. At most Home Depot's the associates will approach you and ask do you need help looking for something. Here you have to hunt them down and even then they don't seem to be very knowledgeable. Getting to this store in newark roads gave me cancer. The store itself was pretty standard for a Home Depot. I got the proper help I expected and everything seemed fine. I asked a rep for help with tile paints and he definitely pointed me in the right direction. There is usually a homeless person wandering the parking lots asking for quarters though which can get too close for comfort, but all in all, it's a standard Home Depot. I have experienced horrible customer service from this store ,This last time I came in for some crown mouldings only because this the only location that had what I needed.I was assisted by Dimian,very helpful and knowledgeable with choosing the correct pieces,he even gave me ideas on what to do far as staining and designs.We were in aisle for quite some time,I didn't purchase because I forgot exact measurements.I came back next day and was not pleased ,a man by the name of Jean was rude ,also another man ( no badge on) I waited awhile for help and no one came ,I stopped a young man who tried to help but he wasn't familiar with mouldings but was helpful still.I complained to manager Ms. fahimah, very polite and professional, she had a gentle man by the name of Amir help me ,he was excellent also with ideas and telling me how to make my project stand out.I really was pleased after speaking to the Manager ,she deserves her position and a raise.I will be returning only because of the professionalism of some staff IE: Manager.it starts from the top and she handles things very well. read more

My last visit I was helped by project specialist Michael Butler "Big Mike", and by far this man is the best Home Depot associate and customer service employee l I ever dealt with! He genuinely cared to take his time with my requests and questions, and assisted me in finding the best option for a flooring material that I was looking for.
