Really had one of the worst customer service experiences... waited on line to exchange a curtain rod Ironically when it's our turn the associates all turn their back and start talking to each other completely ignoring my husband and I. Then when it's our turn we can't exchange using the value of the item as store credit as per employee service desk it must be returned to the credit card... since when? I have never heard of such a thing... what if this was a gift? Luckily I had money for o spend however next time I will spend my money elsewhere! read more

Very expensive for everything. No local competition and you have a greedy free for all situation. Small Mom & Pop stores locally now beat prices for staples at this store. Large regular staff turnover, it's rare to see the same person twice in most cases. The price of lumber is breathtaking, Not sure of the excuse but its so expensive most products are covered in dust because its sat there so long. I no longer see contractors loading up under the high bay, they have obviously moved on to cheaper pastures. This is another store where EVERYTHING went up in price regardless of how long it sat there. Some things are chronically not competitive, LED lighting is 50% cheaper at Walmart and the list goes on. Hope Mennards comes to town to make a correction soon. read more

Worst Home Depot in a 50 mile radius. Went in to pick up lumber needed a piece that was "in stock" except for on a shelf that requires a lift to bring down. Was told to come back another day they had too many online orders to deal with. read more

I was very disappointed in the home delivery service from home depot, firs off I was told they would deliver after noon and they arrived at 9 am causing me to take a point at my job, then the delivery man asked to use my restroom right off the bat, then they both kept speaking Spanish , it made me uncomfortable, as I was the only person home. Do not even bother to buy appliances for delivery at this location. They subcontract the delivery and installation to a company that fails at every level. When attempting to fix the issue, this home depot stated "there is nothing we can do about it". Literally received that response after waiting 2 weeks for a response. They are rude, condescending and really have no regard for your business or safety. Their delivery/installers wore no masks. They destroyed my perfectly working range. read more

I visit this Home Depot about twice per month and have had mixed experiences over the last ten years or so. I've had great help recently from guys like Carson, Jay and David. Other times I can't find someone to even ask for help when I need it. I've learned to look online on my phone while in the store to identify what aisle things are in. I've never had any issues with returns until today and the only issue was that it took 3 computers to finally read my online receipt. I've heard that they are always hiring mainly because the hiring process is such a mess so people give up. The store is usually well stocked and clean. With the loss of Downtown Hardware you can expect this Home Depot will be busy as it's the only option in town. read more

Well I have honestly not seen ruder employees. Walked up to two empoyees to ask a simple question and they made it clear that i was bothering them by interrupting their conversation. Then it was impossible to get some one to help me get some ply wood or help me load it in my truck needless to say I will be going to lowes from now on. My son-in-law and I went in at around 8pm last night to grab a couple of nylon washers. There was a scissor lift blocking the hardware bins we needed to access, so I went to find an employee to move the lift. The first employee I encountered (1-2 aisles over) looked at me like I had a third eye when I tried to explain the situation to him. I feel like I was being pretty concise, but he was having a good deal of trouble grasping what i was saying. He finally let me know they did not use scissor lifts to stock, and would not follow me to the hardware aisle to take a look as he was "assisting another customer." I proceeded to the front of the store to try to get a customer service rep to call someone back to hardware, and there were none immediately available. (There were fewer employees than normal due to the hour, I imagine.) Several minutes later the customer service desk became availble, and I started to explain the situation to the gentleman. I did so twice and got the same bewildered look from him. I was beginning to think it was me at this point, but before I had a chance to revisit (for probably the fourth time in 10 minutes) my dilemma, my son-in-law came over and told me the situation had resolved itself. For legal reasons concerning the general public utilizing motorized lifts in the Home Depot I will spare you the details of the resolution, but suffice to say I will seriously contemplate the criticality of my hardware needs moving forward if ACE is closed for the evening. In fairness I will say that they did have the nylon washers I needed at a good price. Just not worth the headache to obtain them. read more

Absolutely the worst home depot customer service yet I have experienced, right here in Oak Ridge. The young people working the pro desk are ignorant to the material in the store and who shops there. Don't waste your time with this place if you need help with your purchase, they just don't know a damn thing about construction. If you are a contractor, bring in your own help, it is the only way you will make money and time by shopping there, an hour and a half wasted there today. read more

Great service in the garden shop the last 2 times I was there in the past 2 weeks. I needed help getting large bags of mulch and topsoil up to the register and then to my car. Staff on duty were very friendly and helpful. Thanks! I'm very thankful for the Oak Ridge Home Depot and that I don't have to drive further to get what I need. read more

I've just never had a positive experience here. Today we went in to buy a new dishwasher -- we had cash and were ready to buy. We picked a model and wanted to know if they had one in stock, but nobody would help us. Not that we couldn't find an employee... It's that NONE of them would help us. There was one guy sitting at a computer, but he couldn't help because he was in training. Another gut sitting at a computer setting up something for a customer so he couldn't help. The guy in training ran back to get help, but he came out, looked around, said something to the guy in training, and left. The trainee came to us and said the employee sitting with a customer would be with us after a while or "the girl who normally works this department will be back from lunch soon." We waited for a while and finally left. We bought an even better model and more of a selection at a local appliance store -- and got personal service. Next is our dryer, our kitchen range and many lighting fixtures, but I can tell you it won't be here. It was a belittling and frustrating experience. For big home improvement projects I will drive to LaFollette to the Lowes. read more
