A few week later while traveling for work, I knew I would be close to a Rural King and also knew that I needed to stop in to look around. The description my friend suggested was accurate. If you need farm supplies, pet food and supplies, truck supplies, car maintenance, outdoor gear, hunting supplies; the list goes on. This is the place to come. I wandered through the entire store and found the prices very competitive, the selection outstanding, and is my new favorite place to visit when in the area. My only negative comments would be about the staff. They were basically non-engaging and not approachable. Not sure I saw anyone who looked like they enjoyed working there. Maybe it was a bad day, but I didn't need any special help during my visit, so no impact on me visit but worth mentioning. In any case, I definitely would suggest taking a gander at the great selection and great prices this place offers!

Example: when my main house waterline got a leak in it, I removed the leaking section and took it into "Dusty' who works at the store. Literally within SECONDS he had all the pieces I needed and gave me some tips on how to reinstall them. It all worked perfectly - no more leaks, no expensive repairman. I now know to forget all the big box stores, all that will do is make you waste time! The few remaining Clampitt staff jokes(?) about everyone being fired. Most of the reviews here do not appear to be about the Bryson location. If you only ever had an Elders, and didn't know Clampitt, maybe they seem OK?? I was quoted $8 for a #2 spruce 8' 2x4 yesterday at Elders Bryson, at Lowes $3.45. I don't expect Lowes prices, but that is ridiculous, Clampitt used to be about $5 for the same 2x4 months ago, and lumber prices have been stable since then. When I commented to the cashier "I miss Clampitt", she said "We hear that a lot". I prefer to shop local, and will continue for other things ... but for hardware/lumber, I'll now normally just drive to Sylva. Since being purchased from Clampitt, Elders has screwed up the inventory system, reduced what they carry (Isles are much wider due to less inventory). They also eliminated any vegetable plants in 6 packs, reduced the vegetable seed rack by replacing it with ... wait for it ... Elder's logo'ed hats and coffee mugs at an exorbitant price. I have never seen anyone picking up anything from that shelf.
