I went to the store this morning to purchase 60 paver stones for a retaining wall, along with some bags of paver base...quite a heavy load. When I started loading it into my vehicle at the curbside (just outside the garden area), the store manager Dave came up to me and graciously offered to help me. i used to work at this location, this place has a lot of hardworking employees behind the scene and create a good environment for customers, a lot of the bad reviews i've seen on this home depot are because they ordered a specific item that they didn't have or were disgruntled by rude employees. Anyone who writes a bad review has a negative mindset going into this place, if you go in and take the time to reciprocate the same good attitude most of the employees have you will have a great experience. Only reason it isn't 5 stars is because no place is perfect in retail and won't be like a 5 star resort but i would shop there knowing the things that go on behind the scenes and the dedication of the employees. read more

I am writing this review on principle. I had a kitchen counter installed. During the install molding was removed but not reattached. My contract is with Home Depot who hires the installers. The installers removed the molding. Neither the installer nor Home Depot will complete the job by reattaching the molding. Let's review. I paid Home Depot for a job that they contracted out putting the onus of completing this job on Home Depot. The contractors left the job unfinished by not reattaching the molding they took off, and I'm supposed to incur additional costs to hire someone else to finish Home Depot's job??? If you take molding off, you put it back. That is called COMPLETING a job. In what alternate universe are you not responsible Home Depot??? Also, if you are owed money, make sure you stay on them to get your refund. They seemed completely unaware that I was supposed to get a refund. I have a tile job but i will not be calling them. Who knows what else they won't finish. Go where customers are valued, and the business understands the concept of COMPLETING a job. UPDATE: I read your social media crisis plan response "Business Manager" of Home Depot. I am not filling out your form. I already escalated through "Customer Care". This review is the result of that. The only resolution is for Home Depot to do the right thing and reattach the molding to complete the job. Home Depot usually have very good Customer Service oriented people working. This time at this particular store they seem to have new hires and I get that, construction in NC is an essential sector of the economy so they have increased their business significantly and that is fine, they need to hire new people. The problem here is a couple of issues. When you order something online that the store does not stock the they will do the delivery to the store and they offer "curbside pickup" as part of the covid enhancement to make the customer experience an added service just for convenience. So far that is prefect and in line with some of their policies BUT their mistakes are worth mentioning here. There is an area in the parking lot designated for curbside pickup but there are no signs directing you to that end of the parking lot that borders with Bed Bath and Beyond. They sent me an email with the phone number to call in order for me to provide the "order numbers" so someone can meet me outside. The email did not specify where to park so I parked close to the Exit door and made the phone call. Six minutes later the phone is still ringing and nobody picks up so I noticed two teenagers working around that exit door and I approached the girl and asked her why nobody was picking up the phone, she told me I had to park in the designated area and pointed out in that direction. Because I had the email print with me, she asked for the copy so she could go in a retrieve the item and I told her I did not need the copy back, just the item and apparently she was offended and the boy that was with her jumped cussing and told me off. I moved the car to the designated area and waited and waited and waited so I decided it was time for me to go in the store. The item was still on the shelf and she had told the agent I had left. When I left the pair were by the exit so I let her know that under her suggestion I had moved my vehicle to the designated area and waited for 10 minutes, once again she got offended and the boy started cussing again. Two issues here, designated phone has nobody picking up, nobody, six minutes ringing and ringing Hello! The second issue is the untrained and disoriented help with no regard to the customer that in the end pays their salary. They got hired because high Schools are closed until september and gave them no training and of course nobody told them the customer deserves respect and they are not dealing with classmates. I wish I could give zero stars. Took two months to find a patio set that continued to be advertised online and showed "limited availability" in multiple area store. At this store's direction, I kept going back periodically, at their suggestion, to check on availability, and finally on May 20th, found one at the store...paid for it, and set up a May 27th delivery date. On the delivery date, we received a call from the store stating they had some bad news, our set was sold to another customer who picked it up! When we asked how that happened, the clerk said that unfortunately, it happens a lot. Even though they have a sold sign on the merchandise, other sales staff will sell it to customers who can tote it off that day! So beware! Saves them money on delivery costs I guess. Never again. I've been going to this home depot for about 3 months now since moving to the area. They always keep the store clean, staff are easy to find to get assistance, and products are well stocked. My brother was in town and offered to help me buy a grill. We had already decided on a Weber Spirit Classic E-310 grill. The salesperson asked if we wanted the floor model but I wanted one still in the box. So he left to get one from the back and never returned. We stood there for 15 minutes waiting for him. The Home Depot has brought a ray of warmth and assistance lately. Imagine someone saying that about a hardware store?!? I'm serious though. Twice recently I've been to The Home Depot to purchase lock sets. The trips were for two different purposes and on each occasion, Scott did a superb job helping me. I was so pleased when I walked away today that I could have hugged him. Here's how awesome he was today: I needed to look at upgrading my deadbolt and some other exterior locks. Apparently, the deadbolt didn't need to be upgraded. He taught me all about the inner workings of my smart-lock deadbolt and even threw me some extra spare keys they're overstocked with and the department doesn't need. Our conversation was informative, helpful, and personable. He also taught me about general smart lock doors and demonstrated how I could use and re-key each of them. Seriously, above and beyond. This location also hosts free workshops. Examples: Menu Board, Easy Bath Updates, and making other home decor. Did you read that? They are FREE. So for someone like me who likes to do it myself, but doesn't always know how, I can learn for free and not ruin all my walls through trial and error. Finally, I recently got in-home estimates for upgrading my windows. I was going to go with Lowe's -- they're actually cheaper, but the Home Depot service was better all around. I've had the estimates and inspections and will not be doing the installation immediately, but now that I'm so impressed by how Home Depot's staff literally explained the whole project management process and has a great digital system for communicating to the customer, HD is where I'll go when I'm ready. Soooooo.... here's the thing. DIY is very rewarding. Until something goes wrong. You need some wisdom. Sometimes you need reassurance, some guidance after you have bravely ventured out into the nail, paint and hammer wilderness. And after the point of sale, it is often the case that the handholding ends. I am pleased to say that this is not the case at the Home Depot that I visited this week. The averted disaster was a Paint Crime. Committed by my friend who suggested a color that was absolutely lovely in concept, but upon application on the wall, was an eye full that just never settled into the surroundings in peace. The color had to go. But the problem....was price. I had already purchased the paint and did not want to buy the same amount all over again. From scratch...cause...paint ain't cheap and the rebate I had gotten for the first purchase would not be available again. And now, I had a new friend....FOF... (fear of failure) to stop me from finding a solution. Both my friend and I went to the Home Depot and spoke in depth to the Paint Expert and she presented a couple of options without hesitation. (After patiently listening to our long winded descriptions of the screaming yellow paint and not wanting to waste the remaining cans left.) i confess to not knowing as much about the color wheel and complimentary hues being the solution but the Paint Expert talked us through the options available to find a solution. read more

Gotta love it when The Home Depot is practically within walking distance...although with the stuff you can buy there, you have to take the car. I don't have a home, so no need for the nails, tools, paint, lawnmowers, etc. but I do love to pop into the HD for plants, birdseed, potting soil, and other small items I may need. The only thing I don't like is the parking lot -- parking spaces are painted too small, and some of it up near the store entrance is covered by merchandise. Came here looking for a Freezer and a charcoal grill. Selection for energy efficient uprights is downright horrid, and charcoal grills are plentiful but not what quite I'm looking for. I do like somewhat Home Depot, I affectionately call it the "Orange Borg." Typically hardwood lumbers and sheet goods are overpriced, but for the most part, it's one stop shopping for everything "Home" and hardware related. I usually avoid buying tools here. Since consumer reports became my friend, I've found the quality of the tools sold at HD are not quite up to par with the quality of tools sold at woodworking specialty stores. That's the sacrifice associated with the big box stores... less quality for lower price, getting what you pay for - sort of like shopping at WalMart. read more

Since my rental has a nice, spacious deck, I'm on the hunt for a grill. Thanks to Home Depot's good Internet/mobile presence, I narrowed it down to a Weber & KitchenAid. I was greeted by every employee that I came in contact with, which was about five. They made me feel very welcomed. The grills are all in one area & I was able to find both models easily. An employee gave me a good debate on the pros & cons of gas vs. charcoal & the Weber vs. KitchenAid. Once I decided on the Weber, he gave me a "tour" of it & the ease of operation. Free assembly, but sadly a delivery fee of $59.95. :( I live about five minutes away! So I'm going to make a call to the store when I'm ready to purchase to see if I can adjust that fee. Prices are pretty reasonable from what I can tell. Clean & organized store with prices clearly marked. Friendly employees & plenty of parking. read more

The parking situation is awkward. The only place I can find my paint at. They have the best paint selection ever. They aren't good at make keys because they messed up my spare keys and it cracked in half. Being a hardware store where you'd expect big vehicles to be, they have the smallest parking spaces on the world. So if you have a big truck your truck will not be able to fit so feel free to take up two parking spaces. Lol If you are looking for doorbells or landscape lighting they are located on the back left of the store. If you ever see a rebate with your rewards card make sure you do it because it will come in handy. They have amazing gardens section. Great deals on special light bulbs specials for the energy efficient type. The store is always clean and and they have a great customer service and will help you find anything you need. read more

Very rude Home Depot employee today 5/23/2023. Somewhat shocking actually. We were looking for an actual person to check us out inside the store. We saw the self-check out, but made our way to the "assisted check out" where we fully expected to find an actual cashier. The employee called us out indicating that there was a line actually going down one of the aisles. This was fine as we thought that was a line for self check out. At this point I decided to go outside to the Garden Center where I had seen actual cashiers. My wife went back over to the employee telling him that she did not understand the line for "assisted check out" as that is what we were looking for. He turned to her being apparently irritated and said to my wife, "Don't you have something better to do?" Will not be taking my business back to Home Depot. Similar to reviews on this website, as well as other sites, the curbside pickup experience at this location is horrific. I specifically ordered a curbside pickup from this store due to quantities of a wood product their website stated were available (there were multiple stores closer to my home that did not have enough in inventory). I placed my order a day in advance and arrived at this Home Depot the next day to pick up my order once it was ready. After a 10 minute wait, the staff came out with only 75% of my order and stated that they did not have the remaining quantity, even though I specifically ordered from this store based on online inventory levels. I went inside to speak with customer service and eventually found a manager. I asked the manager if they could ship the missing quantity to my house once it was restocked, as I live about 30 minutes from the store. This seemed like a fair request, due to the store's mishandling of the inventory, but he told me that was not an option. After a 45 minute back and forth, he submitted an order with another Home Depot location that I was required to pick up and pay for in full (it seemed reasonable to me for Home Depot to cover the cost of the 25% of my order that was missing at this point). After I complained further, he gave me the "max refund" of $50 on a $600+ order. I then picked up the missing portion of my order from another location. The entire experience took over 2 hours. The next day, I called corporate customer service and they told me I could receive no further compensation, since I accepted the $50 refund at the store. I would urge you to consider all other options before submitting a curbside order with this location. If you run into a customer service issue with this location, good luck. read more

We bought a Bosch Dishwasher at Home Depot. The plumber came out to install the dishwasher. He took one look at it and said, "I cannot do this. This brand requires and electrical, plug in hook up". I called the electrician and was told it would be another week before someone could come out and install the outlet at an added cost. So now we have our old broken-down dishwasher and a new one sitting in the garage that is at least a week out before being installed. Our plan is to return the new dishwasher and not purchase again from Home Depot. We should have been told about this unique feature at the time of purchase. In addition, the electrical work will be an additional charge to the already paid amount for both the dishwasher and the cost for the plumber. read more

We added a three season room and needed to purchase a new door from the house to the three season room. To save money, our contractor recommended to purchase the door from a home improvement store and they would install for us. With measurements in hand, we went to Lowe's first and after a few rounds with them they couldn't tell us with confidence if the doors they had on hand was appropriate for the measurements our contractor provided. Say what?! So off we went to Home Depot. The mill specialist was able to understand the measurements (both slab and actual size), pointed us to doors in their inventory that would fit. It. Was. So. Easy. We brought home the door that evening. Our contractor installed it and added the trim, and now we have a beautiful door that looks into our beautiful there season room. read more

January 2020... discovered my nearby Home Depot is now all self checkout. Generally I wouldnt mind, but today's (a fairly busy Saturday in the store) experience was horrible. Dear Home Depot merchandising ... STOP crowding the aisle in front of the checkout area with seasonal merchandise! There is NOT enough room. You are making the checkout experience unbearable. It is crowded traffic jam, no sense of lines or space for lines, etc. You are making the self checkout experience a royal pain in the rear. I'm going somewhere else next time. We stopped by their appliance department on Sunday to shop for all major appliance for our new house, and Art was the best thing that ever happened to us! I've never met an employee as knowleagable as he is in fridges, washer/dryers (the physics behind it) and every other piece of appliance on the floor. We ended up getting all our major appliance at this specific Home Depot thanks to Art being our sounding board (not to mention he was more on top of the potential savings for various pieces we could receive than we were). Turns out Home Depot's prices aren't what they said they are. They over-charged me. I have the receipt to prove it. I asked about the over-charges and was told to go back over to "CUSTOMER SERIVCE" to wait in line to get my over-charge back. I'd rather spend the time writing this review and hope a regulator sees this and does some secret shopping at the HOME DEPOT at 9517 Strickland Road in Raleigh NC. Why? Because I think there needs to be better training at the store. Or, pay more to the employees so that Home Depot isn't falsely advertising fake prices. read more

Since Ace Hardware switched and became Town and Country I seem to end up at HD more and more for the larger selection and better pricing. It can still be difficult to find someone for assistance but when you do they are generally pleasant and helpful. read more
