I have tried Atlantic Garden on several occasions because it's the closest nursery to my home, but unfortunately, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the customer service has been consistently disappointing, and I always leave empty-handed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Multiple staff members have ignored me while standing around talking to each other, and when I finally asked for help, they seemed annoyed and uninterested.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff in the greenhouse, in particular, were especially unwelcoming and would not even look up to say hello or ask if I needed assistance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], even when I was standing just a few feet away. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this nursery to anyone. I would gladly drive twice the distance to visit another nursery in the future. read more

Beautiful, large garden center in Raleigh. A bit tricky to find, but worth the drive. Atlantic Gardening Company offers a variety of plants, gardening supplies, and seasonal decor. There is ample parking out front. The shop is well organized even with having outdoor and several indoor retail areas. My wife & I came to Atlantic Garden in Feb, 2026 intent on hiring them to do several thousand dollars of new landscaping in the front of our house. While we felt the $150 fee was fair to come look at the property /project I didn't want to spend several hundred dollars more on fancy design fees before a shovel was put in the ground. Working with their lead landscape design associate we agreed to move forward. After several weeks of back and forth we came up with an agreed design. Also note it took over 1 month to get the landscape lead ideas after the site visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To be fair (maybe), the initial email sent by them was not emailed to me due to their error and only after my repeated followup was this discovered and back on course... Maybe this was my 1st warning sign[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]... Once they had most of the type of plants in stock we came to the garden center to look at some of the plants in the suggested design. From there we made a few adjustments and looked forward to a quote and timetable. This is where the service seemed to go sideways - again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thru much of the process the communication was slow - unanswered emails & phone calls, and business days with no firm commitment on the basic plan or quote.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As time passed and we took it upon ourselves to remove some of the existing/aged plantings which caused us to rethink some of the new plantings so when were able to talk with the staff directly we agreed on any adjustments and again waited eagerly for the quote and a date. Entering May we drove to Atlantic to attempt to pin down a quote and date. To be fair - again - my wife and I did make a few changes along the way, some by our own doing and some based on suggestions from the staff. We made our best efforts to stay in touch with the staff even thru some personal family matters on our side both local and out of town and decided to make yet another trip to try to pin this down. When we arrived the design lead came out to greet us and basically said the garden center was no longer interested in doing the project! [[HIGHLIGHT]]My wife was very upset and said "they're fired" with lots of hindsight... We were shocked and extremely disappointed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After months of efforts by both parties they walked away from several thousand dollars of work and left us at square one. Needless to say they will never get any future business from us and probably others if I'm ever asked my opinion. I've visited this delightful garden twice now, and each time was an absolute joy. The first visit was a serene blend of exploring the captivating outdoor and indoor garden spaces. We have been here a few times now and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the team is super helpful and incredibly knowledgeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The azaleas we bought were HUGE (I forget the # of gallons) and priced very competitively. We shopped at the orange and the blue box stores and Atlantic Azalaeas were a much better deal and they looked healthier. Great selection of small trees too. read more

This review is specifically for the garden bar and diy floral studio. I love coming to Atlantic Gardening Company for a fun weekend girls day or solo self care activity in Raleigh. The DIY floral studio is the perfect activity. I had a wonderful time with friends building my own gorgeous bouquet. The customer service was wonderful. They provided all the tools and the variety of flowers and vases to choose from was perfect. Sherry also helped us to arrange our bouquets and walked us through the process start to finish. She was never annoyed with our many questions and made the experience such a great. After you finish your bouquet you can hang out and sip a beverage from the garden bar as well! The bartender was lovely and very personable and friendly. I had a delicious guava mimosa and the ratio of champagne to juice was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Buyer Beware......Their customer service is nothing what they claim it to be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We purchased a Emperor Japanese Maple 7' tree on June 2, 2024. In addition to this tree, we also paid $60.00 to have it delivered due to its size. A few days later when it was delivered, the location of the tree was shown to the person who delivered the tree. The delivery person provided some suggestion on the installation, which we followed. After it arrived the tree was planted as per instructions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Approximately 2-3 weeks later, we noticed the tree was not doing very well, so we connected Atlantic Gardening to let them know. We were provided some instructions on what to do, which was also followed for the next few months.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were also told not to worry, that the tree had a one-year warranty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After a few months' past, we noticed the tree was still not doing well, so we called back and spoke to Sharon, which we were told was the Nursery Manager. She asked a bynch iof question and then shared with us that the tree had a one-year warranty, and we can bring it back for an exchange[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since it was late in the season, we asked if we could wait until Spring to allow the tree a better change to survive the transplanting from pot to ground. Sharon said that it was fine and to waiting until March / April, and that she would make a note in the system so when we came in, there wouldn't be any issues[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On March 29th, we went to the store to get things going on the tree replacement and to make sure they had one in stock. When we arrived there, we were greeted by a person in the front area. We explained that were looking for Sharon regarding a replacement tree and that we had spoken to her on the phone several months back about the replacement. After walking us all over the store for about 10 minutes, and then leaving us in one area with no instructions, we waited around for another 10 minutes trying to figure out what was going on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After about another 5-10 minutes, someone who identified themselves as Sharon appeared. We proceeded to tell her about our situation and that we spoke to her several months back. We showed her the receipt, and she immediately said she cannot replace the tree because when we bought it, it was on sale. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We explained that she never said anything about this when we spoke on the phone and the receipt doesn't say anything about warranty replacement are only contingent if the item was not discounted. She continued to say that she won't warranty the tree despite telling us previously, that she would.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We tried to speak to someone else who basically showed her negative attitude and was not helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We asked to speak to someone in charge and was given the name of Gary Provost and an email address. I emailed Gary on April 7, 2025 at 8:55am, and did not receive any response. I sent a follow up email to Gary on April 9, 2025 at 10:55am, and never got a response. Pros- This place is huge, they have an amazing selection, the employees are all very knowledgeable and helpful, and they have a food truck, beer, and a band on the weekends! Cons- The prices are extremely high. I am willing to pay a small premium to support local businesses, but sometimes the price differences are just shocking. I can only speak for myself and my particular choice of plants so please take that into consideration. I visited this morning to buy three 2-gallon-size "Knockout" roses. This is not a particular variation of roses. It's a private brand of roses so they all originate from the same place and they are shipped into each store each in the container with the brand name on it no matter where you go. The prices were: 1 gallon size $30 2 gallon size $35 3 gallon size $40 I knew that was high so I promptly exited the premises and hopped in my car to go to a big chain home improvement store and bought literally the *exact same roses* for the following prices 1 gallon size $?? 2 gallon size $22 (thirteen dollars less) 3 gallon size $27 (thirteen dollars less) I bought three of the middle size so I saved myself FORTY DOLLARS on 3 plants by going to the big box store! I suppose people come here for the "extras" and the ambience (music, beer, etc) but just know that it's not free. You're basically subsidizing the extras every time you buy a plant here. read more

First time I was visiting. The TikTok video by NC Eat and Play sparked my curiosity. I've always wanted to be a plant mom. I found some nice low-light- plants (Snake and ZZ) that the staff in the greenhouse recommended. I made my bouquet of tulips and such. The staff was helpful when I approached them, but otherwise, you're pretty much on your own. I wish there were more engagement from the staff for newbies. Maybe some classes or information pamphlets. It can be an overwhelming experience if you're new. They sell mimosa at the Garden Bar. Pretty cool spot. read more

Well it's been a long time since we've been here and it's a pretty nice little setup I guess there's new owners since they changed the name. So we're walking around checking everything out and then we always went to the back part where you walk through the trails and you see all the big trees back there that they're selling and a nice water falls with fish in it. Well an employee stopped us and asked us what we're doing That's all going to walk the path to see the falls and the tree and they said no nobody's allowed back there. It's overgrown and not kept up and we don't allow no one back there. That was nice thing about visiting that place was going on the walk. But not no more. read more

Outstanding nursery. The employees are very helpful and when you have a question they are also knowledgeable. How often does that happen in the world today. Nice and knowledgeable is truly a rare combination. They have a wide variety of products. Trees, bushes, flowers, ground cover and so so many more items you can plant in your garden. They also have planters, mulch, dirt and more. This place is misplaced where it is, which to me means they have been in business for a long time and the neighborhood has changed around them. This review is solely about my experience today at Atlantic Nursery on Atlantic Ave. This has been my go-to nursery for years. Employees have always been very helpful and courteous. Today's experience was like nothing I had ever encountered! Purchased herbs and rang up at a different price. I still purchased them. On leaving the store I saw the sale sign sitting right over the plants that I had just purchased, so I walked back into the store to give them a " heads up" that they were probably placed incorrectly and they may want to have an employee move them. Megan (pronounced Meegan) stopped me midsentence and said I was being rude because she was with a customer. I got in line behind the customer, but Megan chose to question me even as her customer stood there. Her question, " what is wrong with you?"Things escalated from there. "I ruined her day". She called me a"bitch". She finally asked another employee to assist me because she was " sick of this shit". She used other expletives . I never raised my voice and called her one name "Karen". megan was quick to inform me she was the store manager, meaning no recourse. I'm glad her employees don't follow her example. Nice selection of plants, and I love their tropicals greenhouse, but their plants are a bit overpriced. I like that they have a bar, that's very uniques, but their beer options are not great, and they could use a major upgrade. There's so many better breweries in the area, you could have a better representation of the area. Staff seems friendly and knowledgeable, but upper management seems a bit aloof and inconsiderate. I go for air plants, but I go other places for most everything else. read more

I cannot say that I was blown away by this plant nursery. I hate to say that it is missing the WOW factor that Logan and Homewood have. This said, they have an amazing variety of orchids in their greenhouse, as well as a good variety of outside and indoor plants. They have a nice selection of ceramics pots. Many unique styles and different sizes. If you are in the market for planter pots, this would be a good place to visit. They also have cafe/bar in the gift shop. They are open on Sundays, which is why I visited (needing some retail plant therapy- ha!). Most of their plants are lush and healthy looking. I say "most" bc their fiddle leaf figs didn't look so hot - the leaves weren't bright and looked dry. I mention this bc, although I'm no expert, I have a few of these particular plants and am familiar with how they are supposed to look. In any case, I loved walking around and seeing what they had for sale. I was disappointed that they lacked plant names and descriptions on their shelves. This would have made it easier to compare the plants for purchase. I wound up purchasing a Pachira Aquatica - a money tree plant. They had several pot sizes in as many price points. One of the gardeners told me that the medium sized ones must have been heavily fertilized for them to have the growth that I saw in them.
