I'm here about 2 times a month and have found that most of my interactions with staff have been positive due to their accommodating nature and active listening when you're explaining what you're working on. I think they must have decent management for everyone to be so kind and friendly. My only reasons for not rating 5 stars is this location doesn't always have the things I need. Yes, you can usually buy everything online but for something I'm unfamiliar with, I'd prefer to see it in person and ask questions about it if needed. I once needed a length of pine cut, and their band saw was out of order. An employee confided to me that it had been that way for a while. Their garden section has fewer species for sale than other home stores in bigger cities. So, all in all, I enjoy shopping here and interacting with their associates but I know they won't always have what I'm looking for. read more

Today I was getting air filters for my AC. I saw filters in the center isle and picked up a few. The Chris came by and told me about the sale on air filters. I had not even noticed the sign as he walked me back to point to the sign. Then he mentioned premium quality filters; and walked me down the isle to where they were located and explained the different qualities. Another employee went out of her way to ask me if I needed help as well. I am truly impressed with this major improvement in customer service. Giving a 1 star rating because I can't give a zero. I just had the worst shopping experience of my life (I'm 67) at the Ridgecrest Ca location. Poor customer service. Their self check out register malfunctioned. Which is Causing me a lot of heartache and paperwork to make sure I won't be charged three times the cost of my purchase. Manager on Duty refused to give me anything in writing to assure me that I won't be overcharged when it was a malfunction of their system. She said people come in all the time and complain about it. TERRIBLE SERVICE I ordered a fridge on 4/2 and paid $35 to be delivered the next day because they have it at their facility. When my husband checked the delivery date to update our tenant, it said estimated delivery date 4/11, so we waited. But on 4/20 our tenant still didn't get it. I contacted the store and speak with a customer service. She was like because there is no delivery date. I asked don't they have the product at the store, she was like yes, so why aren't you delivering it I asked. She was like when do you want it. ASAP. so they finally put tomorrow as delivery date. This is ridiculous. They don't put in the delivery date even though I picked the delivery to be the next date of my order, and they just leave it like that until we have to call them. Hey they open at 6:00 am and close at 9:00 pm. To be honest it's easy to leave a bad review but it's a home depot and usually they stock everything i could ever want for a home improvement project and have never been disappointed with the service... To day was very disappointing.. Headed to home depot for move pebble rock.. This around 5:40 near closing i think. Pick up my items and started to head to the cashier. I noticed the line was long. Then i heard a lot of talking and laughter coming from the return desk. There were 5 employees by the register. When i got to the line. People were complaining about. Why are all of those employees just standing around? While this poor cashier not getting help. Finally after the wait. I check out... Not one person came. So, being a stock holder and a retierd Home Depot Store Manager. Bernie and Arther.. Would not stand for this poor customer service. So, I went over to all the employees that were still standing around. One employee had his back to me eating a sucker. Then i asked excuse me. I asked - do you all know what a code 3 is? I have been living in Ridgecrest, California long before Home Depot came to town. Since they arrived they have put all but two mom & pop hardware stores out of business and greatly reduced the number of products they can compete with. We have developed a saying here in Ridgecrest about Home Depot, "Everything you don't need and nothing you want!" I finally caved in on some small fencing I found on their website, it said it was in stock here in Ridgecrest so I drove the 10 miles to get it and I was informed after standing in line for 20 minutes that them didn't stock and I could get it a their Tehachapi store 70 miles away. 30 minutes till closing, my hubs and I rushed in and over to the portable a/c section. While we were deciding which unit to get, we stopped over in another part of the store and had a great store employee help us find what we needed. Once we decided on a a/c unit, my hubs went to grab a flat cart and a cashier asked us if we needed help. Since I didn't know how heavy the unit was, I happily accepted the help. I didn't catch any of their names, but we definitely couldn't have gotten any better service than we did tonight. The store itself was pretty well kept together, stocked and a perfect place to cool down from the hot heat. We've been here several times before to buy small plants and will continue to since our plants tend to die pretty quickly :/ Overall, our experience has been pretty good but tonight was exceptional. Never any problems with Home Depot locally. This home Depot has 4 parking spots for veterans. They also offer a 10% discount to service connected vets. They allow pets to visit with their owners. For whatever reason, we come here often. The folks are always helpful and the place is pretty organized. It's a fairly large store and they have a whole section in the back for glass. Also - they have massive amounts of fixtures available and they may be able to order what they don't have. Check them out during the holidays - they have Christmas trees! read more

Cant give enough credit to the Home Depot teams especially with a leader like Dallas! This manager treats situations as if he's experiencing them (to the best of his ability.) I was very frustrated with returning Ryobi batteries (3 times 1 worked out of a 2 pack) circumstance made me wonder if it was my charger. I didn't know I was talking to the manager, he pulled one off the rack gave it to me to test and I was able to determine it was the batteries!! Returned the charger to the store, upgraded my batteries (even though I shouldnt have to RYOBI!) I couldn't be happier. Thanks Dallas! Our evaporative cooler motor went out. My husband saw that this Home Depot had 6 in stock. We drove 20 miles into Ridgecrest. We went to the isle and none were there. An employee was working in the isle and we asked where they were. He said, they moved them on a lower shelf; they weren't there. He said, Then, we don't have any. We went to Customer Service and showed her that they were supposed to have 6. She said, Ask the guy in the isle. We said, We already did. She said, Well guess we don't have any. My husband had her check with someone supposedly in the back and he said there weren't anymore. Her attitude was just OH WELL, SORRY. Right. I doubt we'll be going back in there. OH WELL, SORRY. Home Depot Management, i wanted to thank HOME DEPOT and especially Tiffany at the Service Desk in Ridgecrest, California for making my day and my Labor Day Weekend. And to put Home Depot on notice that you need more people like her (Tiffany), at your service desk areas, who show a real interest in her (your) customers and who clearly understands how to be a compassionate, considerate and professional customer oriented individual. Being a regular customer at Home Depot I was surprised to have a floor person right-out-of-the-gate respond so negatively to a request for a discount consideration ... on a product that had an obvious defect .. but which I was willing to accepting if it was reduced only slightly. One should never have to pay full price for a broken or damaged item - even if it can be repaired by the customer with concentrated effort. However when brought to Tiffany's attention she immediate took the high ground and stepped in to rectify the situation. A small savings was given and the unit was purchased with myself being both impressed and very satisfied with her "customer sensitive" actions. This philosophy accomplishes and provides dividends for all parties: 1. Gets the customer what they are seeking 2. Moves products that would otherwise be a liability to the Store 3. Removes the need for timely assembly on a busy weekend 4. Creates a mutually beneficial relationship within the community 5. Creates an underlying confidence between customer and provider for future purchase issues. 6. Creates a "trust" in management personnel's compassion and understanding rarely achieved these days. She should be commended on her mature leadership and initiative to save the sale and 'save the day' sort-of-speak. Floor people should also be instructed that when directed to "CHECK THE UNIT OVER" for any and all parts and accessories that might be missing and/or in the back that they should actually "CHECK THE UNIT" over for parts and accessories that might be missing - as even though this was directed by Tiffany - and the floor person indicated they would...THEY DID NOT...and a return trip had to be made to the store to identify a glaring failure to even give the unit the most cursory inspection - by the person pulling it to the front for pick-up after Tiffany's exceptional customer related actions. The same person who was character 'C' in this interaction the whole time. Her performance should be commended throughout this evolution and she represents Home Depot's Motto of Good Customer Service as she quickly provided the missing parts expeditiously and understandingly and acknowledged the need for support personnel to do-a-better-job when directed to inspect units and products they move to the front for pick-up. The glaring omission was two (2) flame covers that anyone could see if they opened the lid of the unit to look inside for basic components. Especially for someone who indicated they assembled floor units. This incident will hopefully provide management with an opportunity to inform its floor persons (those assembling) and those (moving item from the floor into position for pick-up) that they are an important part of the overall 'team effort' in the customer satisfaction process. I have inside knowledge that there is limited training and other employees are rude to one another when new people are hired in and will not help them learn the ropes. I sent my spouse there for a lag anchor in dry wall and she got help, not much, as she returned with a lag shield for concrete! What a joke! I gave the manager David Jenkins a call(his cell number is posted on a sign-board at the store entrance)and 45 mins later I had assistant manager( Dottie) calling me and telling me that she would correct our problem ASAP. I got the run-around on the phone so the next day I went in. They still didn't have my order pulled, in fact, they had been selling it so there wasn't nearly enough for my order.
