Do not under any circumstance consider getting your door from Home Depot Salinas. I ordered custom French doors. The first delivery they sent the wrong doors so the doors had to be returned. The next order, the doors opened out instead of in (the way they were ordered) so these had to returned as well. Keep in mind that every return means the doors have to be reordered so now I'm weeks behind (including the contractor working at my house.). Long story short, multiple people from Home Depot started calling me, including the "supervisor" trying to pressure me to take the doors. They said "hey the door is the same it just opens in, you can still use it". Just the absolute worst experience and customer service. read more

I had gone into Home Depot to get a price on some patio doors. I got a quote on the doors I wanted but was going to get quotes from a few other suppliers of patio doors. I got a call from the guy who runs that department a few days later saying that they were going to have really good sale starting on Monday and if I could come in and talk to him about it. I told him I would come by between 1 and 2 pm. I got there at 1:30 and there was no one in the door department. I was able to finally stop an employee to see if he could find the guy who called me. He couldn't. I stopped by the Pro Desk and asked if they knew where he was and was told he had the day off. He wasted my time for nothing. I'll still shop at Home Depot for some things, but I'll never deal with their departments that deal with items you can't just pick up off the shelf again. read more

The staff selling appliances are well trained in pointing out the different pros and cons of each item. I would give a negitive 10 we have spent a lot of money at this store over the years We ordered carpet an vinyl foor. we were told the vinyl had to be done first before carpet could be installed. it appears that they do not know what their right hand is doing from the left. some one came out took measurement's of 3 bed rooms, a hall,bathroom, laundry room an kitchen dining room. when they came to install they didn't have enough vinyl to complete the job. they had the wrong last name on the order lost the messuermnts had to send some one to measure the second time couldn't give us a time so we could be there to let them in. Bought a gift card worth $400 just for it to get scammed. Went in told me they couldn't do anything got my information for loss prevention and told me to wait for his call, he never even called me... I called him he wasn't there got told he was gonna be in the next day, called again they said he's working at another store. I purchased a Maytag washer from them. The first one that was delivered came with a huge dent in it so I requested a replacement. Once the replacements was delivered in August it has broken down 5 times. Home Depot will only help me if I had purchased their extended warranty. So they just refer me to Maytag. Maytag doesn't want to replace it because I didn't purchase the extended warranty. They have replaced all Of the major parts on it. I am sure between the parts and service fees it has been close to $2000. Now that it is broken down this 5th time they will still not replace it. They want to have it serviced and repaired again. This game will continue until the 1 year manufacturers warranty expires and I will be screwed. If I had purchased their extended warranty they would just continue to repair it and never replace it. Home Depot will do nothing to help me. They say they just sell but will only take it back if it breaks down within 48 hours of delivery. So I am stuck with this lemon because neither Home Depot or Maytag will take any responsibility and replace it. I will not purchase from Home Depot again nor will I purchase a Maytag appliance again. Hiring Grandmothers that don't know what a hammer is, NOT customer service!! 2) I'm not sure if the ability to speak English is the issue or not. But whatever the problem is, you need employees that actual speak more than one word and at least ACT like they are happy to be there or help you! 3) sending people out of your store with 50, small item without offering a bag is cheap and only magnifies the quality of your overall concern for your customers at this branch. We were looking to buy a new dryer, as the old dryer was starting to go, it still worked for the most part, we just decided it was time for a new one. We went ahead and bought the dryer from them, it was a smooth process, however when it came to delivery it was a completely horrendous process. My father and I were working, so we entrusted my mother to handle the delivery process which should have been at 8:00 AM. We had 3 gentleman come and deliver the dryer on Tuesday 9/13/22. When they first arrived they just sat in their truck talking an laughing for roughly 30-45 minutes, we knew they were here to deliver the dryer, as we were waiting for them to deliver. When they got out, they started to take the dryer out, but my mother noticed that there were scratches and paint peeling all over the dryer, and if we paid over 1000.00 for a drying machine, we would want a new one, and not one that looks used. They attempted to convince us that if you use hot water and a rag, it would come off. My mother called them on their bluff, and sure enough, she showed them that it wasn't even coming off. She refused the delivery as the machine looked downright old. They started taking our old dryer out, and instead of simply unplugging it, they decided to just cut the wire, I have attached a picture regarding this. I can't tell if these men knew what they were doing, or if they had the combined IQ of a rodent, but it seems like unplugging would have been very simple, rather than cutting the wire. They then proceeded to move the drying machine to the middle of the garage. When my mom refused the delivery, which I should note, there are scratches, and paint peeling off the dryer. As a matter of fact, our old dryer actually looks newer than the dryer that they were trying to deliver. When my mother refused the delivery, they threw a huge attitude, and begin complaining. With our old broken dryer in the middle of the garage, they decided to leave, my mother had asked them to move the dryer back at least, and they looked at it and just left. I am sorry, but this is not the way customer service should ever be handled. We now have a broken appliance that they broke, and no way to dry our clothes. We had to call our electrician to come and install the wire back on. We have never had service like this before, what a bunch of incompetent workers. On the bright side though, we learned a valuable lesson, it is time to start shopping at Lowes. read more

The one star isn't for the many of people who work there. Most of they try to be helpful. But.... This is for the company as a whole. Over the years, I've bought a lot of stuff at HD. Most of it was.... okay. Just okay. What's not even okay is: Lumber. This stuff is so wet, it could sprout on the shelf. It will be nice and straight in the store, while it's tightly bundled with other wood. But once you let it dry, it twists so far out of shape, it looks like a curly willow branch. Another is their website. They almost NEVER have in stock what their website claims they have. For the project I'm working on, we are constantly going to a hardware store for miscellaneous small every day things - washers, all-thread, small tools, drill bits. To date, HD has had about 10% of the things we were looking for. Maybe 10%, anyway. Certainly not more. If you have to order something online, you better not need it quickly, because it will take about 2 weeks to ship it from a store not 200 miles away. I'm not talking about a small home remodel. I'm talking about a multi-million dollar commercial contract where it's necessary to get the small things immediately, not 2 or 3 days later like many supply companies. Yet another is their phone service. They hire so few people so they can give their CEO a new yacht, they can't afford to hire someone to answer the phone. So if, by some miracle, you get a live person on the phone, DON'T HANG UP, whatever you do, until you get the answer you need. Otherwise you'll be shuffled around from department to department until you give up in despair and go to Lowes (not that they're any better). read more

For months, the store in Seaside, Calif. has 6 self checkout stations out of commission, and for the last month, they've had no plastic or paper bags at checkout. I'd also like to add, the card readers don't take samsung or applepay, or a wireless tap. This what happens when you have a big corporation that rakes in profits but doesn't care about the customer. Amazingly, they can screw up the simplest of tasks and God forbid you may need to speak to a manager, because if you actually get to speak to one, you will encounter someone with zero training or customer service skills. This store in Salinas just doesn't answer the phone when you call. You can be waiting for several minutes with the phone ringing on their end, and it will just disconnect without anyone ever answering. This happens nearly ALL the time, and if they do answer, it's not the department you requested. I really wish someone from their corporate office would call this store to see how poorly it is run. I called Lowe's in Salinas, and I got my question answered in less than 2 minutes. A live person answered me without any automated answeing machine. It's too sad, because I really like Home Depot. read more

This is a little unfair to the employees of Home Depot because they did their due diligence in trying to help me, but because they hire Temco Logistics to do their delivery and installs of washers/dryers, I hold them responsible for their contractors actions. I purchased a washer/dryer, scheduled the delivery, Temco showed up, installed the washer, but they had the wrong cord for the dryer, instead of going to get the right cord, they said I would have to reschedule, then the tech proceeds to lose a screw for the cord in the dryer and laugh about it, this all started 12/4/23. I will spare you all of the details, but they missed countless amounts of appointments, so many that I finally requested a refund on the dryer (which Home Depot did give me) I went and purchased the same dryer at Lowe's had it installed on the 26th of December, they too had the wrong cord, but got the correct one and was able to install my dryer same day, tested and it is working perfectly, they got it right the first time around. Unlike Home Depot's contractor, who was scheduled several times to come out and pick up the defective dryer, has yet to show up, the last scheduled appointment was today 1/9/24, I was informed that I had been removed from the schedule and moved to Friday (they did not bother to let me know). So I called the store to inform them that I am putting it outside and they can pick it up at their own leisure and they will no longer be taking up any of my time. Sorry Home Depot, your team deserves better than 1 star, but because you hire Temco to represent you for your installs, you get the lowest rating possible. read more

We ordered 6 replacement windows for our home in Prunedale in early December. It's been delay after delay...still haven't had our windows installed. My dad came in to get a specific fixture that he needed. An employee who must have been in his early 20s who appeared to be playing a video game on his smart phone reluctantly agreed to help him. The guy gave him a fixture. My dad asked if he was sure it was the right part and the young guy said yes. So my dad tried to use the fixture and it was the wrong one! So he had to drive all the way back to return it. Seriously, this store needs to either hire knowledgeable employees or train them on the basics. Also, teach your staff some good customer skills. They are not getting paid to play video games on their phones! Perhaps Lowe's which is nearby is a better choice for help on home repair. read more

Had to make a trip to Home Depot to get supplies to make a paved walkway for my elderly mother. I had heard the lines were long and I'd be there for hours. Not so. The line to get WAS long, but I walked in about 7-10 minutes later; def worth the wait. I headed to garden and asked a young man for assistance. He said he'd call, but he must not have. I, on the other hand, saw Alan on a forklift, directed by Leo. I asked them for help. They gave me immediate assistance. They had two loads before me but took the time to write down my skews so I could pay and show them my receipt. They had to other deliveries before they brought mine to my car. Alan, Leo, Edgar and Gustavo loaded my car, making sure to not make it to heavy and damage my car. We couldn't get it all in and they assured me they would take care of me when I came back. I didn't make it back yesterday, so I called. No problem. Today I went and Leo finished the job. He was the first person I saw when I went in and he took care of me immediately. Day 1 took about 35-40 min, today took about 15. I thought that was pretty great. Kudos to these great guys! Whoever their manager is should take note. These kids are hard workers, take initiative, are friendly, engaging and represent your company well. Also a shout out to Bob, in a completely other dept, who is TOTALLY helping me with my mom's project. I for sure would not have been able to do it without him. Home Depot, Salinas is the worse place to shop. The store is poorly run, poorly organized and unsanitary. The CDC should pay them a visit. Employees have no knowledge of the stores products. There is so much derbies and unattended equipment left in the aisles it is impossible to social distant. They are not courteous an make no effort to help the customers. The check out is automated, you must lift the gun, it is not contactless and there is no attempt to clean between customers. I left my items and went to Lowe's. The lady at the self check out kept making calls for someone in hardware to come and no one ever showed up. They need to hire more staff and be more efficient for customer service. Then being transferred is another rollercoaster and no one picks up there so you have to call the main line AGAIN and wait ANOTHER 30 minutes. Worst experience at a home store in 20years. They can't find their inventory when we're looking for (15)fifteen -6x8' fake grass rugs. It's not like something like that blends into the concrete... Are they hidden in the appliance section?! I've had more than 5 employees looking for them off and on. They keep getting called away and/or seem to lose interest in the hunt. The store manager is in a meeting - there's talk of a price match and cutting a piece off a roll - yet 45 minutes later I'm still waiting for the piece to be cut Despite telling the employees I need to leave - I drove here expecting this to take 10minutes tops. Online said they had 15--- I even called ahead to gets someone to find it and bring it to the front - "we don't do that unless it's prepaid."
