Picked up some poducts and supplies from this Home Depot. Purchased everything that I needed to perform my home project. Lightbulbs, cleaners,and sanitizers etc. Had a hard time looking for some of these items. Wasted some time moving from aisle to aisle so I requested assistance from a Home Depot staff member that happened to be at my location. The staff member that assisted me on getting what I needed per designated aisle numbers was quick on itemization. He knew where everything was located. Definitely saved me alot of time. Stop by Home Depot today to buy a piece of wood to cover my large dog crate. Wasn't really sure exactly what type of wood to get and wasn't planning on spending more than $60 for it. Anyway, Doug, one of the employees there passed by and asked if I needed help. I proceeded to tell him why I was there and what I was looking for, not wanting to spend a lot. He found this scrap wood, which look nice and cut out the measurements I gave him. He also made sure to trim off the bad edges. I thought it was really nice of him to do that, especially after he told me it was free!!! He could have just found me something within my budget. His customer service was top tier, he even went and got a cart for me to push it around on!! Please give this guy a raise. read more

Ok, truth be told, I normally wouldn't check into a business like this BUT I wanted the "Tool Legit" check-in badge and needed to buy a drain snake and a bucket. I am not at all handy and usually feel uncomfortable in these spaces but the young lady I interacted with what was so nice and the Home Depot app helped me find what I needed. One of two Home Depots in Signal Hill that are less than 2 miles apart (how can there be two of them in Signal Hill, but NONE in the much bigger, neighboring Long Beach?), Home Depot - Cherry Avenue is the closest one to DTLB. With our climate, it has reason to keep its Garden department open year round. My mother-in-law brought back some cuttings from her grand-daughter's house plants and wanted some top quality potting soil to re-pot. Just like in Illinois, a convenient place to get that is Home Depot. Of course, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to get some more plants that caught her eye. Checkout is pretty much all self-service now, with an attendant making sure things are going smoothly. read more

I typically avoid Homedepot mainly because it's a bit intimidating and when I do visit the store I try to only get the one item I need. This weekend I stopped by and I couldn't locate the wrench or key I needed so I asked for assistance. Andres, from hardware was very polite and helpful he knew exactly what I needed and even offered to come outside and lend me a hand. I had a serious safety issue at the The Home Depot on Cherry Ave on 4/30/26. My 86-year-old grandmother and my disabled aunt asked for help getting wood down for a fence. Instead of assisting them, an employee said they were "too busy," handed them a ladder, and expected them to get it themselves. That is completely unacceptable and dangerous. You do not ask elderly or disabled customers to climb ladders in a warehouse environment. I called and spoke with Jon (manager on duty), and instead of taking it seriously, he said he would "check the footage" because he didn't believe me. He took my number and said he'd follow up--it's been over 24 hours and no response. This is not just bad customer service--it's a major safety failure and poor management. Someone could have gotten seriously hurt. Corporate needs to step in and address this immediately. read more

The older man working in the paint department on 12/16/25 around 11:45am needs to do his job better. I needed touch up paint bc some 3m strips took paint off my wall. I thought I was being helpful to bring a picture of the paint number of the initial shade so there was a starting point (honestly forgetting there's a machine). I ALSO brought in a paint sample from my wall and literally said "I need to color match this". I don't know where his brain was but I went off to get sandpaper and came back and wrongly assumed he did the right thing. He DID NOT...Home Depot please speak to this employ about doing his job better. He gave me the original paint color...that I put on 10 years ago. Hello...that's why I brought a paint sample and asked it to be color matched. I brought it back today 12/23/25 and Lesly did her job by using the machine to color match and then actually put the new color on the sample and dried it to show it matching. read more

I came in on April 16 for some plastic pots and seeds to start a little garden. I should have brought in my little stool because the seed packets for Black-Eyed Susan flowers were so high up. . . .I eventually got one, though. I've run in here numerous times for things like grills, propane refills, and various other household items and always found this Home Depot to be pretty clean and organized and easy to get in and out of. I bought my grill here and have come here consistently for propane refills. Sometimes it's easy to do it outside with the machine, but a lot of times the machines are broken and I have to come in to get it done. Home Depot also hosts little DIY workshops for little ones and while I haven't attended yet, I'm excited to check this out and bring my daughter here (and myself) to hopefully learn some new skills. read more

Everything went well. I made two trips to the Home Depot in two days. July 4th and July 5th. My first trip I knew exactly what I wanted. The selection was awesome. And the employees were more than helpful. They were friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help. During my first trip, I noticed a really cute fig tree that I wanted to purchase. I'm visiting from out of state, but I really wanted that fig tree so I went back the next day into the garden department. I knew I was gonna buy it and I knew I was gonna need soil milk. Some of the bags were ripped and were offered at 70% off. I noticed some other bags were ripped and asked if they would honor the 70% off for another bag. Alfonso was amazing. He was friendly. He was charming. He was very, very helpful and nice. Of course he honored the 70% off the second bag even though it wasn't priced as that. What did I do with the fig tree? I purchased it and put it in my mom's backyard so that every time I come to visit I can have some beautiful Southern California Figs. I guess the bottom line is everyone was smiling. The store was super clean, organized airy, comfortable and the employees that walk past us from Home Depot with a smile on their face in the garden center. Everyone was just super friendly. It didn't look like they were miserable employees that didn't want to be there (I mean if they did, they didn't show it) another employee by the name of Claudia in the garden center on July 5th was super friendly. Very knowledgeable very helpful and I appreciate that in a cashier. She wasn't trying to hurry us out of the store so she can continue with her work, she was patient and smiling and I just appreciate that in a store where I'm going to spend my money. I never write reviews, but this negative experience shook me. I am just completely offended in regard to the treatment I received as a young woman in a male dominated store. It is already intimidating to walk into a hardware store to locate items I don't have as much confident knowledge of, and Julio made me feel even more alienated. Before I complain, I want to acknowledge the associates who contributed to a positive experience at The Signal Hill Home Depot at 2450 Cherry Ave. I came to the store for two things: a new toilet seat and adhesive motion sensor lights. In the plumbing department, Marcelo was very polite and courteous and most of all very helpful, making sure I got the right toilet seat I needed when I asked for assistance. Then I knew exactly which lights I needed to get as I found them on the website so I headed over to aisle 1. But for the life of me I just could not locate the product. THIS IS WHERE I WAS TREATED WITH THE MOST DISRESPECT IN MY LIFE! I just couldn't believe why this would happen I see an associate, not only a department head as marked on his apron BUT THE HEAD OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, by the name of Julio. I politely wait my turn to be helped behind another man that Julio is talking to. He is facing my direction and makes eye contact with me and it is clear that I am waiting to be helped! However as soon as he lets this man know where he needed to go to find his product he swiftly turns his back to me and walks quickly away. I was astonished because it was just so blatantly rude. I wanted to call out "hey wait" but didn't want to embarrass myself. I just stood there in shock. He walked back towards where the employees throw their trash and boxes away, then before I left he was at the customer service desk. So I know that he wasn't about to take a break. But even then, he could have let me know that he was busy with something else and would send another associate over. But no, just straight up ignored me. It was absolutely ridiculous!Home Depot needs to demote and retrain this so-called department head of customer service because it is just embarrassing to have him represent you!!! As I looked around, shaken up by the lack of respect shown to me, I encountered Alvaro, who wasn't apart of the electrical department but informed me the item I needed to locate was indeed in Aisle 1 where he told me I could wait there and he would send someone over, he was very polite. Clarissa from the electrical department was very kind to me as she looked up on her work phone where the item was, and was able to get me what I needed. The three associates who were competent, kind, helpful, respectful and displayed better work ethic and customer service were Marcelo, Alvaro, and Clarissa and I appreciate their help. Either one of them could do a better job than Julio. I spoke to manager Tati, and hopefully disciplinary action can take place about his laziness, and I hope the other three employees will get recognized for their hard work. read more

Kudos to Doug and Kevin in the lumber department! There are many employees at this store who are ready to answer questions about products, diy projects and services. My Daughter wanted to make some book cases and asked me to get the required lumber. I needed a 4 X 8 sheet of 3/4 inch plywood cut to the make the parts. They have large saws mounted on frames to cut materials to order. Doug and Kevin happily made it happen and even loaded the parts into my car. As a senior citizen it was very welcome. Going to pretend I didn't just take 40+ paint sample color cards to use as coasters & various color inspiration around the house. Going to pretend I didn't avoid eye contact with an employee who probably would respect my adherence to Behr's 2022 home interiors collection color palette. AN INSTANT KEY-REPLICATING MACHINE. Located before the cashier. Ummmmm hello. This is new. I know there are literally locksmiths climbing up and down the walls of the city but I FINALLY made a copy of my keys... and I got to choose a design!!!!! The plants section has my heart forever. Labels for full-sun to mourn the flowers and shrubs I can't help evolve, labels for the part-sun & shade florets that I whisper "we can make it work" to when I'm alone in the aisle. Super happy I got these wood-looking-but-not-wood wooden barrels for use in the garden. I've been enviously eyeing my neighbors' to no end but I found a great, much lighter in weight option to make my Midwestern farm life decor plant household dreams come true. It's unfortunate I have to give this location a 1 star review based on the poor attitude and unprofessionalism of Heidy. I've been to this location several times and it's actually one of my favorite locations however I had a poor rental truck experience. Thanks to Juan for stepping in and making things right however afterwards Heidy was trying to use intimidation tactics by asking her associate what my name was and acting like she was going to put damaging notes under my account. They made a mistake and wanted to charge me for this error and when I asked for them to review cameras and investigate, they said never mind and that's when Juan stepped in to remove the extra charges Heidy illegally was trying to charge. My contract didn't have a dolly accounted for, so when I returned it, they said a dolly should have been in there and then Heidy in a rude way went online to see the value of the dolly and then tried to charge me for it. Again, I didn't back down and thanks to my contract, it was clear that no dolly was accounted for. If you decide to rent a vehicle from this location, keep your contract handy and review it before leaving. Review the fuel levels and review the cargo space to see what's accounted for. I'm glad I kept my paperwork because I would've been charged an extra $79. Another tip, make sure they stop the clock as soon as you enter the Home Depot. They will try to charge you extra time for going to check the vehicle and then they take their sweet time walking back and then getting interrupted before actually time stamping when you returned. Again, I hope to change this review in the near future but for now, it's a 1 star based on the poor attitude, unprofessionalism and unfair practices by Heidy. She must be new because I haven't seen her at this location before, hope she get retrained on customer interaction or they should transfer her to a location that it's okay to be ghetto and unprofessional. They literally set up their own shop in the parking lot. This review is really for Corey who was manning the Paint Department on Sunday, August 4, 2024 about 6pm. GREAT customer service. I popped in to get a gallon of Behr paint and he prepped it quickly and even more importantly asked me if I needed the special pour spout for the can so it makes less of a mess, etc. THANK YOU Corey for the ask, because I had purchased a gallon earlier in the week and the female employee did NOT ask me if I needed a pour spout. I haven't painted in a while and it wasn't until I got home that I realized I should have gotten one. They have this new 'clearview" system that the clerk at the register could not figure out how to scan my drivers license. So said to me, "Well we can't rent to you".
