I am always reluctant to shop at Home Depot here on Florida Ave because of how busy it gets and how the customer service is lacking. Plus supporting this big box store is against my grain. But for what I do sometimes I have to bite the bullet. What I've noticed is a slight improvement in customer service and a slight drop in the amount of shoppers. We all know they have a large selection of merch and their return policy is wonderful. You will find value here as would in a locally owned hardware store you just won't receive the service as quickly because the employees are understaffed. Home Depot will shake up your paint cans that you bought a month ago but didn't get to the work when you planned. Staffing is mostly knowledgeable of where everything is - it's just a matter of finding someone who works that department if you have questions. Yesterday a woman needed help getting something off a shelf, she asked a few different employees who told her it was not their department. She was not happy and went over to the paint section to complain. She still had to wait as there was only 1 person working the paint counter but he ended up helping her although it was not in his 'department'. He was just being, what's the word? Oh yea, KIND. So, we walked over to a couple Staff that worked inside the store and asked where we could get a few Wood Slats cut down to size and was told which area to go to. Upon hearing this another Staff member offered to help us right away do that we didn't have to wait too long. Luckily,I had brought a Bed Slat from home to measure it against the New ones I had planned on purchasing. So, this very nice man expertly cut down the new slats I needed perfectly and even supplied us with a cart to transport the New Slats on. I am so happy that I went to Hone Depot First instead of a furniture store or I would have probably been subjected to buy a whole New Bed Frame or whole Pairs of Slats when I only need about 4-5. read more

In the last year we have spent nearly 10K on appliances with Home Despot. That in turn bought us terrible service, damaged goods, bad attitudes, ongoing screw ups, delays and never-ending frustration. After over a month of this, we took our 5K and cancelled any further appliance orders with them. My advice, avoid ordering Any appliances from them. We were hassled by their warehouse, treated rudely by two of their Appliance sales team members and had our items destroyed both at the warehouse and then again by their 3rd party delivery service. There was little contact, follow up, or transparency in their process. Their contracted shippers then further damaged an item out of clumsy stupidity even as I watched them unload it. They then had to turn the whole shipment around and send it back. They then cancelled one damaged item without reordering it or informing us while adding another month of waiting time to replace the item damaged by their shipper. Ordered a simple online order. I did not want to go inside the store, pandemic being what it is, so I elected for curbside pickup. They completely bungled the order by removing one of the items (which was not actually in stock) and then marking it as having already been picked up. I had to call to confirm that I had not received any of the products. I was told to come in for pickup as the issue had been corrected, and would need to verify in person that I was picking up the purchase. I had to wait in the service desk line for 30 minutes only to be told the items were not ready. I would need to contact Paypal for a refund. Within a minute of walking in we were asked if we needed help. Asking where the boxes were had no less than 3 people point the way to the correct aisle. I would give 0 stars if that was available for their appliance department processes. I ordered (in the store) a microwave (over the range type) with delivery and installation. I followed their preinstallation instructions (removal of old oven, etc.). The oven delivered was severely damaged. Why this was not noticed before delivery, I have no idea. So after waiting 10 days for installation, they left and had to reorder with delivery another week away. So my second delivery and install appointment came. The installation crew spoke NO English and as soon as they looked where it went, they said (with help from a friend to translate) they could not install it. Their drill/power driver could not fit to put the hanging screws in. I even offered the tool I used to remove the old microwave but they refused and left with the oven. Therefore I cancelled my order after waiting 2 1/2 weeks for the installation. Now another 1 1/2 weeks later I still have not received my refund. They have had my money for almost a month. I've called several times and each time I'm told it will be another 7 to 10 days for the refund to my account. Home Depot does not care one bit for the customers for their appliances. Their (subcontractor) installation crews and completely inept and rarely speak any English. Never, never, again will I use Home Depot for anything that requires installation. However the advice wasn't so great, as she steered me towards one product on my list that was specially advertised but not a good product. A Home Depot special on two cans of wasp spray, a super cheap off brand that supposedly shoots 27 feet. I asked if that was really true or just a claim, and she said it was true. The consumer's experience: both cans shot less than 10 feet, not far enough to even hit the wasps plaguing my porch. At two for four bucks, you get what you pay for and it's not really worth it to return them. The store itself is fine- self-checkout is your best option if you just have a few things. I've been coming to this location for a couple of years now. In the last couple of months the store has lined the aisles with so much merchandise that it's difficult to even walk with a cart. Not much point in reviewing a Home Depot; everyone knows basically what to expect. I'll instead offer three tips about this Home Depot that might help you: 1) If you have a car with lower clearance or are towing a trailer, I strongly suggest entering this parking lot via the East Yukon St entrance on the south side of the parking lot. The 'main' obvious entrance along Florida Ave has a very pronounced dip between the street the high angled lot entrance, and based on all the grooves dug into the pavement, many cars and trucks have probably come away missing some amount of metal from their bottoms. 2) The tool rental part of this store is pretty helpful. My experience is specific to pressure washers and carpet cleaners though so your mileage may vary if you need advice on other types of tools. My advice related to pressure washing: If you have a large area to cover, like a driveway or pool deck, don't just rent the pressure washer itself. There's another piece you can rent with your pressure washer that will probably cut your time down by 80% compared to just using a wand; it's called a surface cleaner. It looks like a round disc with a wheelbarrow handle attached to it, and underneath, it has a rotating pair of nozzles like in a dish washer. As you move the surface cleaner across the cleaning surface, it will clean 20 inches of width at a time. You MUST get the 3500 psi / 3.5 gpm pressure washer to use the surface cleaner adequately; don't let them give you the lower powered model, it will take forever. Also, their pressure washers come topped off with fuel so that's a nice bonus; you don't have to bring it back filled either. I'm going to add a video of the surface cleaner in action so you can see how easily it tackles a dirty driveway that your obnoxious HOA is probably sending you letters about. 3) If you're a novice at painting, I recommend not taking advice or receiving assistance from anyone in the paint department who is not wearing a Home Depot apron. I recently found out after the fact that the nice gentleman in the Behr Paint polo shirt working behind the counter with the Home Depot staff was actually the local Behr rep, who apparently is sometimes there helping customers like an employee for reasons unknown. I'm sure you can imagine where this is going. I know next to nothing about painting, went in for some advice and color matching, and went home with what just happens to be Behr's most expensive paint, to paint an off white laundry room wall that was already painted and previously primed, mostly hidden by washer and dryer. Went back the next day to get some trim paint for same area, told Home Depot staffer what I was doing and what I had done so far, the conversation results in my coming to understand that a gallon of paint that's $15 less would have been more than sufficient for my use case. Lesson learned. In any case, this Home Depot is about what you'd expect from any other. Lots of products, reasonably easy to navigate, some good employees, some bad employees, four self checkout registers. The parking lot has a food truck selling hot dogs, etc. It's easy to get in and out of the parking lot quickly, in stark contrast to the location at Dale Mabry and I275 which is an absolute nightmare for parking and leaving. read more

The staff at this location is very helpful and friendly. I recently went in with several things on my list of things to get, neither one pertained to another, and had an associate physically walk all around the store with me to ensure I got all i needed. She was kind, personable and upon our trek to aisel 6 for wall repair kits, I found out she was a retired federal agent...which then led to a very interesting conversation on the state of our country. With this being a major DIY/home repair store, I trust that their company brand has instilled this kind of customer service to all their employees, so that whether I'm in Seattle or at the local one down the street, I will receive the sam service and quality care as I have always experienced here. read more

As a new homeowner, I am constantly making trips to Home Depot. I personally prefer Lowes, but there isn't one nearby- so home depot it is. Overall, I don't have complaints about this home depot, but I don't have any amazing experiences either. Hence the A-OK. This location is usually pretty crowded, but the lines have never been too awful. Most everyone I've encountered is helpful (besides in appliances).
