The owners were courteous, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the beautiful variety of plants on the property--and there are plenty. It was such a unique and personalized experience. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous, and if I hadn't been told about this place, I would have never known it existed. As a garden and plant fanatic, I can say this spot is truly special. We had our daughter's wedding at Hummingbird Gardens, Tampa, Florida on Feb 14th. The venue was extremely pleasant, beautiful, easily accessible and full of nature including peacocks. It is a family-owned nursery, especially designed for special events like weddings etc. As bride's parents we first encountered with this family-oriented business when we had to put up the Mandap/poruwa/wedding Altar. Since the day one until the wedding is over and taking the structure down, we had beautiful memories. Francesca and Shani are the ones we directly dealt with, and they are so accommodative for our requests and made us so welcome and comfortable. They helped us to make our decision in making our structure giving us very positive comments. They were very helpful with the time frame. On the day of the wedding as we arrived, the whole place decorated with flowers and it was elegantly beautiful! It was like I was in a fairy land, very magical. Francesca was extremely professional and decorated the place so beautifully to meet the wishes of the couple. Shani added beauty and flowless running of the show as a great coordinator. Shani is very professional, very kind and loving. She executed the program very elegantly and to the highest standard. We would recommend this venue to anyone without reservation! The back of the property was nice and colorful. The plant purchasing section was noticeably more neglected and not as put together. You are not allowed to take pictures of your own are are required to pay. It's understandable because they make money off of wedding pictures, but just a heads up. read more

I clearly did not experience the same magic that other guests did here. This place was recommended to me as a cool spot to buy plants, and while there were plants for sale, they were scattered around in a random fashion with no apparent rhyme or reason. Plus - none of the plants for sale had a price on them, or even what kind they were, so when I was interested in one, I had to bring it up to the one person working (the Owner?) to request a price. The gardens for the "event space" part of of this location are gorgeous, with lots of fun and interesting nooks for pictures. This would be a great option for an outdoor wedding. However the "farmer's market" had very limited options, and the "plants for sale" only had confusing options. This was a once and done for me. read more

I saw the gorgeous photo's of this place and had to go. It doesn't look like the pictures anymore. The difference between what's shown at the website and what you see when you get there is incredible. The sign is a homemade home painted amateurish thing that was falling sideways and couldn't really be read. The flag/banners at the street were also falling over. The dirt road to the venue was weedy. The nursery was overgrown and difficult to walk through. Not a single plant had a price tag, least wise a label with name or growing directions...not a single plant! The only prices we saw in the whole place was on the vegetables. We walked through the venue and it was dirty. We were there first thing in the morning and tables, with table cloths, had been left out (at least overnight but they looked older) and cats were laying on them. We were the only ones there. We walked the whole nursery and venue, and at no time did anyone ever ask us if we needed help, had any questions or even say hello. The place is sorely neglected, but kudo's to the web designer for making it look clean, lush and maintained! read more

Really beautiful garden. You got to be adventurous a roam the entire place. Full of sculptures and peacocks wow. Also a true farmers market like what farmers market use to be. Not the farmers market nowadays where everything is more expensive than your average grocery store. You can actually buy fruits and vegetables for $2 a container. I am from Orlando. I love the fact that whether it's a small intimate or large wedding the venue provides breathtaking & unique scenery for pre ceremony , ceremony, cocktail, dinner, dancing & exit / last dance. As a Dj , I have done more than one wedding at this venue , each of them have had different set up & timeline yet still felt rich & authentic to the couple desired ambiance vs the generic hotel ball room with up lights I am used to. The time of day/night , the temperature climate variety , the blooming season , the natural light , even the seldom beautiful horses in the far background, that I saw once makes this venue your go to for something personal & memorable. The Management team is what you want, not employees earning a paycheck but owners that care & take pride in the venue & clientele, they are detail oriented (Shani) almost to the point , that a day of coordinator would be redundant. Came here for the first time today and what a magical experience it was! From the music to the plants, the atmosphere was very welcoming. Francesca, the owner was so bubbly and fun to talk to, you can really see the passion she has for her craft. The varieties of plants are so diverse and you see a different plant with every step you take. The peacocks are beautiful and make the experience so exciting. I bought a beautiful succulent and some yummy fruits and veggies. Will be returning :) For all the nature geeks like me, Hummingbird Gardens is the perfect way to see how nature and humans can coexist in harmony. Very great energy all around. read more

Francesca and her family are very knowledgeable about the different plants and trees available and how to help them thrive. They even sell fresh organic free range eggs from their chickens. A great little farmer's market tucked alongside of Henderson Road just north of Linebaugh Avenue, Hummingbird Garden is both a garden-fresh farm stand and a small nursery. Hummingbird is locally-owned, and the lady behind the counter takes the time to wander around and tell you about the produce and fresh fruit that they carry on the shelves. The farm stand is located under a tent just off the side of the small parking lot, and the nursery area is behind the farm stand, and off to one side. You'll find hanging baskets, small potted plants and trees, as well as the garden which supplies much of their fresh produce. The prices in the nursery looked reasonable, and the plants were very healthy and flowering. The small farmer's market doesn't have the massive selection of Bearss Groves along Ehrlich, but it's nice to have a place that is so close to where I live. The produce is very fresh - case in point, the lady walked me out to the garden and picked some fresh peppers for me. I told her that I was making salsa and so I picked a quart-sized container of plum tomatoes, a quart-sized container of Poblano peppers, two white onions, and a couple of fresh-from-the-garden jalapenos for $4. I added several fresh apples and two massive grapefruits, and was out the door for well under $10. I've driven past here for years, and I'm glad that I finally stopped to see what was underneath the tent. read more

We walked into the shop, it's a cute place and we brought our dog on a leash. When we went into the shop there was a chicken that we didn't see and our dog tried to sniff it and this made the cashier very upset and she screamed at our brother. And when we walked back in she yelled at us to "Go home and take our dog with us." She wasn't wearing a mask either. Very rude and overall not good vibes 8/10 would not recommend. read more

Wow. Let me get that out of the way now. What a cool stop. With quarantine clipping my travel wings, I've been taking up home-based activities like gardening. I've driven past here for years, but decided to make today the day I stopped. I'm so glad that I did, it's so much more than I imagined. The staff was super nice and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I bought a bunch of produce and my family and I have been digging into it all today. Some of the best apples I've had. And it's absolutely gorgeous. A wonderful, open-air place to wander around, home to what I was told were roughly about two-dozen peacocks. I'll be coming back for sure, and my brother and a lot of my friends are already planning trips out. I loved it. read more

I can't say much about the nursery side of Hummingbird Gardens other than that for a rather small nursery, it looks like they've got a good variety of flowers & leafy plants. When we stop here, it's for the farmer's market on the other side of the parking lot. It's a small market with a good variety of organic produce, a good amount of which is actually from out of state. We bought plums from California here a couple weeks ago, & they weren't that good, unfortunately; not very ripe. But everything else we've bought here has been great -- pineapple, sweet potatoes, squash, onions, strawberries... Everything's pretty reasonably priced, & you can walk out with a nice vegetarian dinner & dessert in your arms for under $10. read more

Gorgeous artwork, fruits and veggies, and plenty of things to see as you stroll past the gorgeous walkways surrounded by huge plants and trees. Now that you've seen the large plants in bloom you can go over and pick exactly what will look great in your garden. This place was just amazing. I have been to several nurseries so far in our area and the customer service just blew them all away. The owner was very very patient with my 22 month old daughter and I while she guided us through the nursery showing us and explaining the trees that I had a choice from on the Hillsborough County list for replanting after a tree removal. We are planning on going back this weekend to pick up the tree in my husband's truck. Also, I am planning on making this a regular stop since the produce was such a good deal - I got a basket of tomatoes and cucumbers and a mango for $6 and they look so fresh!! read more

Hummingbird Garden is a magical place for an outdoor wedding. Francesca put her heart and soul into creating the perfect setting for our daughter Chelsea to exchange vows with her beloved Derek. Masses of greenery, flowers, and peacock feathers and a koi pond complete with burbling fountain combined beautifully with lovely round tables covered with crisp white linens and flowing purple toppers, white china and sparkling crystal goblets. The antique gazebo was the perfect stage for our beautiful bride, with plenty of room for dancing after the ceremony. Its nice to see a farmers market that actually carries local produce not just stuff that they went down to Sams Club and purchased. Locally owned and wonderfully staffed it is a great place to visit when I am looking for nice looking organic produce. A good supply of things like Florida Oranges which believe it or not are almost a novelty here as well as almost anything else that you need to cook a really good home cooked meal. There is also a small nursery and the plants looked pretty good but I haven't had a need to buy any. Regardless its a nice place if you are looking for some good, fresh, produce. read more

A unexpected pleasure. The place is a little deceiving from the small parking area, but start to roam the front area, then walk through the produce stand that is full of beautiful fresh vegetables and fruits. Then you'll see the flow of the grounds that are full of standards through exotic specimens. Plenty of very nice flowerpots and garden accents that will keep this place on your mind when your place needs a fresh and healthy look. read more

Great local food market in Tampa! They also have a very nice exotic garden and beautiful animals for kids to see like peacocks. I know the owner personally, that's how personal the service is.
