Right away she knew exactly what i was talking about for the project and grabbed a can stating this is what she used on her own orchid/plant logs. I definitely have mixed reviews. As for painting help, I was sold all sorts of things I didn't need. I was disappointed and ended up with more help at Menard's with better and fewer products. As for little things, I was able to find basic items quickly. When inquiring about washers and dryers (and I already had specific brand and such researched) I felt pressure to purchase. I was inquiring for a daughter out of state and he still wanted us to purchase here and work it out with Home Depot on her end! No way. I like when I just have to pop on for something simple that I know about and need. read more

Came in to buy a new washer and dryer set but the doorman was literally such a dick and started insulting my parenting skills immediately upon seeing me. I was so offended I just walked around to the exit and made my purchase elsewhere. Very rude and judgement so staff here. read more

We shop here A LOT since we've been redoing an old farmhouse for many years and going to Home Depot isn't always fun for us, it's a chore. Especially when you rarely find anyone knowledgeable to help you. Things were completely different today when we met TIM. Wow! We needed a certain tile there wasn't enough of so Tim and Brittany who were working together took over to help. Brittany called all around to find us more tile, while Tim accompanied us around the store making sure we had everything we needed for our project right down to the smallest detail (which we would have missed). He had great suggestions and all kinds of good advice. I don't think we've ever been in and out of that store faster. We're now on our way to pick up more tile at another store after Brittany located it not far away. Great experience today!!! Thanks Tim and Brittany! read more

I placed an online order for store pickup of a lawn trimmer - there were 4 in stock when I placed my order, per online. After 4 hours (almost) I hadn't received my email that it was ready for pickup, but I was out doing my shopping and figured it would be easy enough to pop in and get it. It was just a weed whacked. Well, it was in the process of being fulfilled, per the woman at customer service. I had gone to look at some accessories for my whacked and knew there were none on the sales floor. I asked the woman if she could contact the person who was fulfilling the order because there were none on the shelf and if they were in fact out, I would cancel and make my purchase elsewhere. This seemed to fluster her. Another woman came over and asked the first CSR if she was helping me and she kinda shrugged. I explained that I hope she was helping me otherwise I was standing there for nothing. After explaining that I ordered a few hours before and there were 4 in stock online, but nothing on the shelf currently, the second CSR's response was "yeah, that's the problem with ordering a line". This is NOT where the great customer service comes in. I was preparing to become Karen, when who I believe is the assistant manager, (this gentleman had been standing in customer service and heard most of my exchanges, I believe), cane walking up with with a package that contained my weed whacked and a leaf blower. $30 more than the product I had paid for. He simply said, "it shows there are still 2 percent n stock and obviously we don't have any. This has what you ordered so we'll give you this" - paraphrased a bit. I thanked him and told him I appreciated the very good customer service. So, hope the 2 CARs weren't great, the gentleman was and gets my 5 review. Went to Lowe's to get rubber feet for my Samsung stove and got a severe runaround on how they have never had anyone ever needing the so after much frustration I went to the Wausau Home Depot knowing they also handle Samsung appliances and dealt with John Quimby he went above and beyond my expectations to get me what I needed next time I need appliances I definitely will be purchasing my whole kitchen from Home Depot. I've always thought the smaller local hardware stores were better for customer service but lately Grebes hardware customer service has really declined. They no longer care about customers. My recent experience at Home Depot Garden center was top notch. The young lady that helped me with purchasing my cub cadet bagger couldn't have been more helpful. She was obviously very busy but gave me her full attention and did all she could to help with my purchase from locating it in the store all the way to loading it into my car! Supervisor was rude and verbally abusive. Little to no training. Questions treated as bothersome. Couldn't stand it anymore so I left. Received an email threatening job abandonment. Replied stating how I felt. Received another saying they were glad I left & that they didn't want someone like me working there. Worst experience ever. read more

Every time I go into this store, I have had to hunt down someone to help me. I usually have to wait 30 minutes or longer in the aisle before I give up and go find someone. On my last visit there, I had questions on toilets and had to wait for assistance. Then after waiting, I went to find someone who couldn't even tell if they had any in stock. After wasting an hour in one aisle, I proceeded to the checkout and picked up some smaller items while in line. As I was waiting for my receipt, the cashier slumped against the next checkout register and said "Just let me graduate college!" As if she was disgusted with what she was doing! She never offered to bag my smaller items or even to offer bags for me to bag my own merchandise!! I pushed my flat cart outside with my new toilet on it and tried to load it into my car. I couldn't lift it by myself. I made eye contact with the man pushing the carts back inside and sat down on the box to wait for help. I thought maybe he would come back out once the carts were in.... My mistake! Why would any of these employees want to help the customers who pay their paychecks!?!?! If they want to stay in business, they better make some changes to their customer service!!! read more

I love the service in the Wausau store. I am disabled and have a hard time getting around the store. I called the garden center and asked them to take a product up to the service desk for me so all I had to do was pick it up and pay for it. They did that for me!!! Not many stores have service like that!! Thank you Home Depot!!! read more

I would definitely recommend going somewhere else for home improvement besides Home Depot. Try Menards right down the road as they have MUCH better customer service. Went to Home Depot to look at a new fridge and was rudely scolded by an employee for trying to look at the different fridges and accidentally turning one on, instead of him asking if I needed any help or had any questions. Some of the employees were alright, but you could tell this guy really hated his life there. When you walk by an employee, they should ask if you need anything or how you're doing, not stare you down and act like a jackass. Seriously, go to Fleet Farm or Menards. read more

It's a home depot, nothing more. Employees are hit or miss but they carry better brands and quality items than Menards & are cleaner and better organized the Fleet Farm, as long as you get a good employee then you should be good to go. read more

I ordered and paid for a new exterior front door and a storm door with installation on June 7th 2019. It is now Sept 11 2019 and they can't get this installed. I can not seem to get this resolved. Meanwhile Home Depot has my money and my doors and millions of excuses. People out there doing any ordering for home improvements that require Home Depot in Wausau WI to install beware!!! They will lie to you about when this can get done and enjoy your money for months. I wonder if I had charged this to a Home Depot credit card if they would be charging me interest? After getting extremely bad service at the paint dept at Ace Hdwe in Weston, I decided to give Home Depot in Wausau a try. The paint staff was very helpful and patient (not condescending like the Ace staffers). I got paint that was an exact match for some old paint that I had. I would give this a 5 star except that despite winning awards (according to the Home Depot Staff) it was watery and drippy paint, just like most other paints out there now days. Sadly, they just don't make paint like they used to, not even the best of the best. read more

Sometimes difficult to find help if you have questions. (I usually end up calling the front desk with my cell phone and ask them to send somebody to my location) Most workers are helpful...I have only encountered a couple of crabby workers who would rather not be bothered. The store is wonderful for returns...the system scans your credit card to look up an item if you don't have a receipt. I have gone to Menards in the past and have had problems with returns and the quality of Menards products is very poor. (i.e. boxes of screws from China that break in half because of cheap steel) I've driven 35 min. to go to Lowes in Plover and love their service!!!! I have only purchased a few products from Lowes so I can't comment about the quality of their overall products. read more
