I'm not gonna say that there aren't few outstanding people working for Home Depot. I have certainly met a few. But that seems to be the exception rather than the rule. For the most part , customer service is horrible!!! It's difficult to find anyone who has any clue what's going on. to help you, you get a lot of " I really have no idea", "This isn't my department" and you get a sense that they just don't care and really... they just want you to go away. "you have to go to the Pro desk at the front of the store, they are the experts who could tell you " Is a common refrain And then you go to the "pro" desk, only to find that the person behind the pro desk is basically just a cashiers who has seems rather irritated that the people out on the floor keep telling people that. I don't know what the solution is. I could say just hire more people, but I don't think they're gonna do that. Dear Home Depot, I would like to thank you for the disingenuous (in my opinion) perk. That resulted in $25 in pro bucks that in my opinion, you never intended to honor. That perk came from an almost eighteen hundred dollar purchase online. When you didn't honor the purchase I made with the pro bucks, and you told me. I had to stop working and spend my time and gas to go stand in line at the customer service desk at the local store in order to get a gift certificate wasting more of my time and gas than it was worth, I canceled the original purchase before you could process it. I spent the next couple hours, yes, I am aware of the irony, searching for an alternative product that would fit the exact same application. I found one at a savings of more than seven hundred dollars. I want to thank you for what, in my opinion, can only at best be described as embedded institutional deceptive practices. Thank you. *** Why did I right the thank you letter above? Here is why: I have a "Pro" account at Home Depot. In theory it gets me better pricing on bigger orders. The size orders I never make since I quit contracting. I decided to go ahead and order the rest of the shelves for the other wall of the 40' container online yesterday and have them delivered today. Time is money after all. A few minutes after I placed the order I received an email letting me know my Pro account had reached a "Perk Level." The perk turned out to be $25 in Pro Bucks. Cool. With $25 Pro Bucks burning a hole in my virtual pocket I went online and placed a $21 dollar order for a nice Klein 11-way screwdriver with that nice, padded rubber handle Klein is famous for Valco inventing. It said it would be delivered the same day. (That was yesterday.) My new shelves weren't even going to be delivered until the next day (today). Wow! So Cool! I was more excited about my new screwdriver than the shelves. About 20 minutes later I received an email letting me know my screwdriver order was canceled, and if I wanted my Pro Bucks back, I would have to stop working, get in my truck spending my time and my gas to drive to their local store, and stand in line at customer service to get a gift certificate. That rubbed me the wrong way. Kinda reminded me of when Home Depot started selling Rigid branded tools and offering a lifetime warranty, but made it so hard to actually warranty a tool it was hardly worth it. I haven't bought a Home Depot Rigid tool in at least 15 years. I have heard its better now, but I still don't trust them. Instead of shutting down machines and spending more of my time and money than it was worth I went on the live chat and tried to get customer service to just put the money back on the payment method. No. Oh by the way, no. And um, no. They weren't having it, but about the third time the chat agent told me I had to go to the store and stand in line for my gift certificate I lost it. "No. No, I do not have to go to the store. If I had wanted to go the store I would have saved the $79 delivery fee on my net total 1785-dollar shelving order. How about you keep the 25 Pro Bucks, and I'll cancel the order for the shelving, and if you pull any games on that I paid with PayPal. It might take a while, but I will get 100% of my real purchase back from PayPal without going to the store!" They tried to "reasonable" me or "manage" me, but I had already gone into my Home Depot Account and canceled the order. I kept arguing with the live chat agent until I saw the automated functions of their website showed my order as canceled. Then I told him to put the Pro Bucks where the sun doesn't shine and disconnected. PayPal shows the transaction as canceled this morning. Typical rant. I know. Wah! Wah! Wah! Tell it to somebody who cares. LOL. The thing is I actually liked the Home Deport shelf/racking for this application. I had actually found a similar style the same size a little cheaper from CostCo. The CostCo shelving has two issues. There is no CostCo in Yuma, and each section comes with only 4 shelves instead of 5. Still, I was going to do almost anything rather than buy from Home Depot. Stubbornness like this rarely if ever makes a difference, but I've always voted with my wallet. I searched dozens of sources online and read pages of search engine results. The CostCo shelves were the only thing close enough to satisfy me. I added four sections of the CostCo shelving to the shopping cart on their website. The Home Depot Shelves were 389. The CostCo Shelves were 399 (more) discounted to 349 (less). Then the there was, "Add to cart for final pricing." Okay let's see what the penalty, taxes, and shipping add up to. There was no shipping charge. With taxes and a 5% penalty for not being a CostCo member the total billed to my credit card was $1087 delivered. That's apx $272 per set net delivered. read more

homedepot.com online services are well below standard. I ordered 2 gallons of spread rock at the pro desk in the store on purpose to make sure things went smoothly. Apparently, for some reason, it is not available in store, which is silly. After waiting almost 2 weeks only one showed up, this is what happens when you hire DEI and woke Millennials who don't care about anything but their phones. It took a half a day talking to four different people in customer service to get it straightened out nothing but a headache. I should've gone to Lowe's. read more

This evening I drove 20 miles each way to make a purchase of electrical wire at a cost of over 500.00. The electrical department was unattended. I had to walk around the store to find someone to unlock the gage. This individual had no knowledge at all on electrical wire. He walked the wire up to the front of the store to a cashier named Daniel. Daniel rang up the wire purchased of 500.00 which I had paid for with my visa. He said if I would sign up for a home depot card I would get a 50. Discount. I ask how long it would take, and he said no more than 5 minutes. He cancel my visa purchased and had me go through the steps for the home depot card. I had to release all my pertinent info. He rings up the register and no discount is registering on my receipt. He seeks help from someone and now tells me I have to go to customer service to get a discount. Which I refuse to do. Daniel baited me into or outright lied about the home depot credit card process. Be aware of Daniel and his cunning methods to get an elderly person to aquire a home depot credit card at 29% interest. I am expecting a call from the store manager Jason tomorrow. This kid named Aaron...what a great person to have as an employee! I had gone to Home Depot a few days ago to buy siding. We didn't buy enough, so I went back to HD today to find more siding similar to what we had already bought. Let me just say that there were a few problems that caused me to be in the store for a longer time than I anticipated but Aaron never left my side, although he got called away a couple of times. He always came back because he knew I would need help getting my purchase to my car. Seriously, Aaron stayed with me and helped me find siding that matched the same siding that I had purchased several days earlier. He called other employees over to help because it appeared that what I was trying to match was no longer available. He even called the guys in the back to see if they could give me what I was looking for. This guy came out to my car to look at the panels I still had in my truck that had purchased several days earlier to see I'd he could find the ones that matched. What an awesome guy and employee. Moved to Yuma recently, in the process of upgrading our new home we have spent several thousand dollars here in the last few weeks. Many of the items here have been sitting for a long time. I bought some primer here and noticed after i got it home that it was passed the sell by date. We even purchased a new refrigerator which came with installation and delivery. We waited over a week to have our frig delivered. The window of delivery was 8a-12 noon, they showed up around 11a. It turns out home depot uses another company to do their deliveries,, Temco industries, look them up, they have hundreds of one star reviews. The guy from Temco, Carlos, refused to hook up the water line to our frig, stating thay we didn't have the proper fitting on our water line. I told him it would take me about 30 minutes to go get him what ever he needed, he refused. He gave us two options, refuse delivery of the frig or take it without having it hooked up. We refused delivery. I called home depot, after about 30 minuted i was able to get a hold of jason, one of the managers. He seemed to want to help but ultimately after about an hour he called me back and said their was no way to have the frig re-delivered today. So we took the refund. (now lets see if it goes through) Home depot should be ashamed of themselves to use a company like Temco. Our whole two weeks was scheduled around this frig delivery and we ultimately have to go buy a frig somewhere else because these guys are incompetent at doing their own jobs. I will no longer shop at any home depot locations. read more

I would not recommend this place, personally I rather give my business to Lowe's. Horrible costumer service, at least the associates I encountered did not helped me at all. The only reason I was there is because the article I was looking for, is exclusive in Home Depot. Made an online purchase for more products to be delivered to the store. When they emailed me that my product was ready for pick up. I checked in ahead of time in the app and had to wait almost an hour, between waiting at the front desk and the parking lot. When I got home opened the box the product was damaged and it looked used... definitely do not recommend. read more

So we just bought a new house in Yuma Arizona. We go to home Depot probably every other day because we're fixing up our house ourself. Went to self checkout with my mother and fiance. Carolina at self check out was so stuck on my fiance checkout making sure he wasn't steeling that she completely ignored an older lady asking for help , and some other men only scanning 1 bag of cement and getting 2 for free. My fiance even asked her do you just want to cancel the order and rescan it your? She said no. She stood over us the hole time like we had felons written on our heads. This particular Home Depot really dropped the ball today. I went in looking for an electric smoker for the holiday weekend. So as I do I shopped around online and low and behold I found a smoker that I wanted on sale at Home Depot. Well I decided to buy in store rather then online to support them, but when I asked them to match the price on the Home Depot web site they said "sorry that's the online price".... well it's a major company and it's your website so yeah wtf. I decided not to by the smoker as it was $250 at Home Depot and $150 online. So I decided to check Lowe's and they had the exact smoker and matched Home Depot's online price. They will get my business from here on out. I just bought a new home and will be spending a lot of money on home improvements but not at Home Depot. Also the old woman at the check out in the garden section was incredibly rude and treated me as though I was trying to pull one over on her. She went out of her way to make me feel uncomfortable in front of other customers. Never again Home Depot never again. read more

There have been so many bad reviews of Home Depot and Lowe's, that I am feeling it was not meant for me to replace my kitchen countertops. I was ready, on three different occasions, to replace them but was obstructed by other responsibilities each time. Like Lowe's, the customer service varies at Home Depot. Many employees smile and say hello and then just keep on walking by you, as though they are in a hurry and have other things to do. But, sometimes, I have been given valuable advice and instruction -- it depends on the knowledge and friendliness of the employee. There seems to be a high turnover of employees which makes each visit to the store unpredictable regarding customer service. Years ago, that whole area was a desert wash with just some scrubby trees. If you have been to Home Depot, you know that the train runs right by it. The hobos used to get off the train during our mild winter months, and camp in the wash until summer. Then, one day, the tractors came and mowed down all the trees, leveled off the land, and Home Depot was built and then the furniture stores. Getting back to my review, I have sadly decided to keep my old countertops. But that's life in Yuma, hit or miss, you take your chances or you do without. Last year I ordered a window from Home Depot. The window never was installed. This year, on June 4, 2019 I tried again. The Jeld-Wen window was supposed to be installed on July 3,2019. No go, pushed back to 7/10/2019. OOPS! They did it again! On the day of installation I got a call and it was pushed back again to 7/17/2019. Today I got a call and it is pushed back till 7/22/2019. Home Depot is doing nothing to light a fire under Jeld-Wen to get them to come through. I have been lied to constantly. 2 years to get 1 window. Found what I was looking for and went to pay only to find out they only except certain Veterans ID . I had three ID's showing that I was a veteran. No no won't accept my proof. They stand up there talking about everything under the sun and acted bothered when you walk up to the counter to ask for some to be called to a certain dept. then they ask you if there's someone back there? First of all-- WE SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE! (which is Spanish) 98% of the staff speaks Spanish so if you do, good for you! haha. Every trip I've taken here has been a pleasant experience. IF you want to compare to the local Lowes--Home Depot is the way to go IMO because it seems like the people here actually know what they're doing..and if you get the right person in their department, they're very knowledgeable! I'm really bad with names (will update later next time I catch it) but there is a gentleman in the paint department that KNOWS HIS STUFF!! He is very nice, very knowledgeable, and very patient with you like you're the only customer in the store.. I love that! I felt quite good about shopping many times before, but the service attitude this time was quite bad. In particular, the fat woman who claimed to be the manager lied and deceived people. Obviously, no one worked for her, but she told me that because the 30 gypsum boards were too heavy, the truck could not carry them away at one time, so she didn't load them for me. The first truck I took away only 60 wooden beams, and the other four doors, two bundles of anchor lines and two barrels of paint can't be taken away together. The woman stared and lied. I rented a truck with a load of one ton. They asked me to transport these decoration materials in three times! It's so bullying! It's frightening that the store has such a bad service attitude and a lot of lies. This shopping disappointed me and made me angry! The settled bill was even more chaotic. She overcharged me by nearly $200. She told me that it would be returned to my card. I haven't seen the returned money so far. Please return the extra money you collected to me! read more

The Home Depot in Yuma is by far one of the better Home Depot stores that I have frequented throughout the country. The Yuma establishment is well stocked, okay in cleanliness, but where they lack is professionalism in their supervision and management, and this is a reflection of their floor staff that either does poorly to help customers, or tries to hide in order to NOT help customers. A few weeks ago, while I was on an aisle looking for a specific product a Home Depot employee was approached by a non-English speaking customer (because the Home Depot employee looked Hispanic) and asked in Spanish, "Hablas Español?" At that point the Home Depot employee rudely replied to the customer, "I don't speak Spanish! You must have me confused for someone else," and rather than to try and assist this customer, he simply turned around and walked away. At no point in time did this employee offer to assist this customer, offer to get another employee to translate, but he did feel the need to justify to the customer that he did not speak Spanish! What a guy! On another occassion, a young lady, who might either be a lead or a supervisor, was having a personal conversation with a customer couple that was on their way out of the store. At the time, I asked a young cashier lady to help me out on the automatic check out stand because one of the pieces of hardware that I had did not have a bar code or a SKU #. The Home Depot employee that was helping me out was trying to figure out the name of the product on the computer display, when the young lady that had been having the personal conversation with the customers that were walking out rudely approached the cashier lady that was helping me out, and ignoring that I was even there, rudely told the young lady, "You should have been on register (Number)!" In which my old military sergeant attitude came out ASAP, and I put her ass in check right on the spot by telling her, "Well if you had not been over there, having your personal conversation with that couple, and have helped me out instead, We would not be in this predicament, would we?!?" She went from puffing her chest to being humbled immediately. What a push over! When she had realized what she had done, she didn't apologize or said anything else to me, instead, she softened her tone a bit, and just told the young lady who had been helping me, "After you are done here, go open up register (#)." There has been a few times that I had to get on some employees about them either being rude, lazy, or just plain dumb. But again, that's a reflection of the management and supervisory staff there at the Home Depot Yuma. Aside from those issues, the store is a great place to shop! read more

Went to Home Depot to get a pole saw. We ask asked one if the employees whom was talking to a few other employees if the have them. He said NO we do not have them only have the electric saw. He was very rude about it and shut a sliding gate between us. I decided to go look by the shovels in garden area and sure enough they were there!!!
