I came in here looking for a prop for a cosplay costume I saw online. But there was so much more to this store than I thought! It's more like 2 or 3 different stores rolled into one; they have clothes, guns and ammo and foodstuffs mostly catered to the farming/outdoor community but accessible to anyone, if that makes any sense. U-Haul Experience with C-A-L Ranch Store: This store had everything I needed from pet supplies, RV/camping gear, hunting, quality appeal, cowboy & work boots, and southwestern home decor. Great for everyone! BUT, they are also a U-HAUL dealer, and what I really wanted to post on was my experience when I rented a tow dolly from them. For those of you who have rented from U-Haul, more often than not, the severe lack of friendliness and customer service when dealing with U-Haul is mind blowing. This was how I felt until I rented a tow dolly from C-A-L Ranch Store. The sales associate, named Michael, helped me with my dolly rental, and he was so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process that I just had to write a review. He also advised me that C-A-L Ranch had LP, and he'd be happy to help me with filling my RV which I drove back a second time to do. Very satisfied customer. I went in to get a 30-lb bag of dog food a few days ago. Being injured, I asked for assistance. They not only helped me to pick up the dog food bag, but held the bag at the register so that I wouldn't have to push it around the store as I continued shopping. Upon checkout, another employee picked up my bag of dog food and walked it out to my car and put it in my trunk. I'm beyond grateful to the employees of C-A-L Ranch their assistance. read more

I was looking for a large HarvestRite freeze dryer. I called the store and they had one. They held it for me for 2 days so I could drive from Los Angeles to pick it up. When we arrived, I met with Shawna, the manager. She was extremely helpful and friendly. All the employees were very friendly. It was a great store. I wish I had had more time to look around. When I got home, I discovered the power cord not in the box. I called and spoke to Shawna again. She sent a cord UPS and I had it in 2 days. Next time I pass through, I definitely plan on stopping by this store. read more

The level of customer service at this location is beyond poor. Never have I experienced such lack of work place knowledge and hostility from a customer service worker in my life. The fact that some people still have a job is unfathomable to me. My guess is the problem lies with the poor management. Because with good management, not one person would make it in the door as an employee if they didn't understand what it meant to at least remain professional when representing their store while speaking to their customers in front of other customers. I checked out CAL Ranch before their grand opening and was quite impressed. I'm from the Midwest where Mills Fleet Farm stores fill this market, and CAL Ranch is very similar. Everything was very organized and easy to find. Prices are very competitive. I checked out the firearms department and the staff were just as friendly there as other employees I encountered, and very knowledgeable. Firearm prices on many items were lower than I've ever seen anywhere else in Yuma. Keep it up and I'll be sure to do my business here. read more

I went to C-A-L Ranch and was treated like white trash. My husband and I went in to buy hay cubes. I went back to the cubes and my husband stop at the counter to ask for a cart and some help. He was speaking to a gentleman at the counter when a female employee who was ringing out a customer whipped around and told him he did not belong here and to get out of the store. When he went outside, leaving me alone in the cube area, she proceeded to go after him again out in the parking lot telling him she told him to leave. Meanwhile, I was having to load the 80# cube bags by myself while the employee herd stayed at the counter talking. I am 65 years old, 4'10", and weigh 112#, with a dislocated shoulder. All I could load was 5 bags. Pulled the cart to the counter, watched what was going on outside to my husband, and when the female employee returned inside to tell about her heroic encounter with an elderly man, another female employee turned on me. Told me that CAL Ranch will not sell me my items and that I had to get out. I requested the manager. She told me to leave again and my response was for the manager. She finally made a call to the back where a male employee came to the front, asked me what I wanted done with the cubes. I told him I needed to pay for them, he took my money, and 2 male employees took my bags out to my truck and loaded them. The male employees told me that they wished my day went better and I thanked them. We left. When we arrived home I called in a complaint. Nothing will be done. I have never been treated like white trash before, ever. We were disrespected, verbally attacked, and discriminated against at CAL RANCH read more
