After reading some of the recent reviews, I felt genuinely compelled to share my experience. I have worked with Home Outpost for more than ten years for staging, consignment, and purchases for my own home, and my experience has been consistently exceptional. I understand that misunderstandings can happen in any business. Communication can sometimes be misinterpreted. That said, I truly cannot reconcile the suggestion that Jen could be rude. She is one of the kindest and most patient people I have ever worked with. I consider myself fair and reasonable, but I also have high standards. I am very particular when it comes to staging because it represents a significant investment for my sellers, and the presentation has to achieve a specific result. Not once in all these years has Jen or her team shown frustration or impatience with my requests. In fact, they usually get it right on their own. And on the rare occasion that I ask for adjustments, they are gracious, collaborative, and committed to making sure I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Staging is not just decorating. It is strategic. It matters. And they treat it that way. I am truly sorry if anyone has had a negative experience. That is never something to dismiss lightly. But based on over a decade of consistent professionalism, kindness, and results, I felt it was important to offer a perspective that reflects the team I have come to know and trust. Home Outpost has been an invaluable partner in my business and in my own home, and I remain grateful for them. My interactions with this business were nothing but horrible. There is a French lady by the name of Delphine, she was supposed to help me out with my purchases. She was very rude and short and pretty much no help whatsoever. She wanted to do her own design and her own Look. I explained to her multiple times that I had a vision for my house and what I would like it to look like. She was not on time at all, and really made the whole process uncomfortable, and uneasy. So sad to walk in and receive no eye contact, smile, hello or otherwise from either employee. I was looking for something specifically, and with so much "stuff" it would have been nice to have been acknowledged and maybe receive some help. I saw fingers moved quickly on a phone though!! I can not give this business even half a star. My experience gives me the impression that the owner has little business experience. With social media reviews, businesses treating customers without respect are setting themselves up for negative reviews. My experience with the store bagan when I called the store about selling furniture. I was instructed to text pictures, which I did. No response. I phoned twice more and was told each time that someone of authority would call me. I have not yet received a response. If the owner doesn't believe that my furniture would be appropriate for sale, that's quite understandable. But no response, repeatedly, suggests that the owners don't understand that a bad reputation will inevitably result in failure. I would not trust this business with my belongings. read more

Taking the time to write this review because I must help spread the word about The Home Outpost! Well worth the trip to Gypsum...something for every style home and at very reasonable prices. I have found both home décor items and larger furniture pieces for my home...I stop in every time I am at Costco!! It's fun to browse, even if there you aren't looking for something specific. Margie and her team are absolutely FABULOUS, helpful and accommodating. I have always said that The Home Outpost is a hidden gem! I have been going there for quite some time now. I have never had a complaint. Margie, the owner, is always so kind to me when I go in. She is always ready to help me as soon as I come in, which is typically uncommon for owners to do. Jen, the manager, is very hardworking and always makes sure that every customer is greeted as soon as they come into the store! Lastly, Alisa, an employee, is bilingual and is able to speak with both English and Spanish speaking customers. read more

I have wandered through the store many times and purchased quite a few items for my home. They have great stuff! When my daughter left for college I brought her bedroom furniture in to sell. This is a glorified consignment furniture/home furnishing store. I do NOT recommend this store. Please read on and you will understand. The owner, Margie and manager, Jen are rude and act as though they are better, smarter and more important than other people. The day of the grand opening I went "shopping". Came across a dining room chair from Arhaus furniture that had no signs of wear with a price tag of a little over $100. The chair sells retail for almost $500. When I asked Jen about the chair she clearly had no idea what the chair was worth or the brand, therefore cheating the consigner/seller from making money on the chair. Months later I decided to consign many items (crystal plates/vases/bowls/candle holders/etc, furniture from pier one, antique furniture and hull, new in the box lighting, new pillows, etc.). Jen told me that my items would be posted on a consignment website where I could check to see what was sold. A few days later I checked and most of my items had not been listed as even being brought in. I called and she insisted that they were posted, however, they really were not posted. I asked if my items would be listed on their website and was told no because they only list furniture and not the household items because it would take too much time to post them and there was a quick turn around time and it was a waste of their time because of that. However, when I checked the website there were other consigners candle stick holders, antique furniture, lamps, pillows, a regular glass candy jar for $20, glassware, etc. My items were way under priced ($15 for an antique vase, crystal vases from Sweden for $10, a full set of hull for $149 that was worth over $700. When I asked about changing the prices on my items I was basically dismissed by Jen. I was even called after a few weeks about coming to pick up two accent chairs because one had been sun faded. Just because they looked the same doesn't mean they were a set because they are accent chairs. However, they were not willing to try to sell just one. After 2 months I called to ask about coming to pick up my items and was told by one of the employees that it was fine, when did I want to get them. I asked if a Saturday or Sunday would be okay and was told yes, not a problem. Not long after I received a phone call from Jen being very rude, hostile and demanding towards me saying that they put in a lot of work to advertise my items and that they are very busy on Sundays so I needed to come over "right now to pick them up". The employee told me they were NOT busy on Sundays and when I went to pick them up on a Sunday there wasn't a customer in site. She informed me that they had already pulled all of my items and would be sitting in a back room on a shelf. Some of my items were in a box (crystal glass stacked on top of each other mixed with lamps, etc and nothing wrapped or protected. The original boxes for new items had been disposed of. Many of the items were missing and could not be located on the showroom floor anywhere. Therefore, I did not get all of the items I brought in to consign and have to go back another day to see if they have found them. When leaving, Margie the owner was also very rude to me. Using a scolding tone about pulling my items out before the end of the 120 day contract. When I asked her if she wanted to know why I was pulling stuff she remarked, "no, I don't care", yet she continued to reprimand me for taking my belongings and spouting off about how much time they spent advertising for me. Where??? It wasn't on their website and the Hull was in a closed cabinet on the floor not even being displayed, not to mention that they conveniently forgot to put that with my other items in the backroom. Then she continued to ream me and said she was "glad" I pulling my stuff because of comments Jen made to her but she couldn't tell me what those comments were, my guess is they were derogatory. So. Long story short. Maybe they are in the wrong business, possibly took on too much and don't know what they are doing and definitely don't know the merchandise. Or maybe because my items didn't come from a million dollar home they didn't think me or my belongings we good enough. Although I can guarantee that my items weren't trashy or cheap. UPDATE: September 2016 One of my items sold and the portion I would receive would be $7.50. I was told checks go out on the 19th of every month. I called at the end of August and Jen said she would look up my account and call me back. That hasn't happened and I have not received payment for the item that was sold. In addition when I picked up my items they "misplaced" a crystal vase and have yet to locate it. read more

Major kuddos to Margie & crew! They provide upscale consignment (and new) furniture and home decor, but most importantly - the best service ever! I do many things well, but decor concept,is not one of them. So when it came time to upgrade a large luxury home (on a beer budget), Margie took care of everything - and I do mean everything. They came up with a decor concept, did all of the measuring, took care of delivery, set up and staging and fine tuned it all until the last fuzzy pillow looked just perfect! Quite simply, they took all of the hassle of updating the look of a luxury condo and made the entire process, effortless, reasonable priced and all in a very short period of time. Working with her team was such a pleasure. This was the best, most convenient and very reasonably priced option I have ever experienced in home decor. Can't wait to work with you again. read more
