    Huevos Rancheros. Heaven.

Great coffee, great food, really nice and pleasant staff, and good juices as well. My partner and I come here most every Sunday for our weekend breakfast. I've tried a few different dishes and non have disappointed. As a Mexican, I can honestly say that their Huevos Rancheros are the best Mexican dish in all of Australia. If its able to remind me of home, it's GOOD. The coffee is well made, the juices are kept natural and no frozen products are added. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, we've never had a rude staff member. This place is good in every way. I would (and have) highly recommend it.

The Hot Poppy is this really charming and quaint cafe/bar that has a country close-knit feel unlike many other cafes in the area. They have fantastic food options as well as juices such as their mint, watermelon and strawberry one that will refresh you from the toes up! The coffee is great where its relaxed vibe and old school charm means it feels genuine and is an easy place to enjoy. No pretentiousness and friendly staff make it a great option when wandering around Errol St in North Melbourne. Also, try their French toast specials as they change all the time where the twists they put on each time is amazing and delicious!

There is a relaxed Parisian feel to The Hot Poppy. Sitting inside looking out through the large arched windows to the hanging baskets of faux poppy greenery there was a brief moment of international escapism. Given the high calibre of North Melbourne's cafes I had high expectations......which were not quite met. The menu is ok, a varied selection of paninis, burgers, salads, and frittatas make the lunch trade more interesting than the competition. I ordered a BLT bagel with aioli which I honestly couldn't be bothered finishing. This might just be me having a first world whinge but there was almost NO aioli, the result was a dry and kinda flavourless bagel, forgetting my partners lemon lime and bitters wasn't fabulous either. To their credit my partners zucchini and cheese frittata was really good and the service was ok. The $9-$15 price range is accessible but I feel like I could find better food around Errol St for a similar price. I would go back for a coffee and chill in the interior but might pass on the food.

Poached eggs, tomato, avo, jalapeño salsa. Very nice.

Little Rogue speaks for itself. Honestly they don't need my review. All you need to do is look at…read morethe line out the door and down the alleyway from the time they open and you know they're doing coffee right. I had to try them with all the rave reviews, especially in my journey to find the best of the best of the Melbourne coffee scene. It's harder than it sounds considering any coffee in Melbourne is already pretty top tier in comparison to anywhere else. Little Rogue deserves the line out the door and rave reviews. Not only is it in the top of the top for coffee I've had in Melbourne...or anywhere...they're also just really cool people. Not a coffee snob in sight. Just down to earth smiles, friendly even at the crack of dawn, and happy to serve you some of the best coffee you'll ever have. Seriously. If Australia, or Melbourne, isn't on your bucket list, it needs to be if only to have the firsthand experience of the coffee everyone talks about. Like so many Melbourne hotspots, Little Rogue is unmarked. No signage. If you know you know type of place. You wouldn't know it's there except for the line out the door that gives them away. Just across the alley and up a few steps is a bakery that's also getting a pretty good rap. Make it a whole trip to start your morning right. You won't be disappointed. PS... If you're at any of the iconic coffee hotspots in Melbourne and you really love your espresso, ask for the (Melbourne) Magic. Just the 'Magic' for the locals. You're welcome.
