Have been a member of the Rapid City Y for 56 years. I worked there full-time in college, taught…read moreclasses for two decades, and donated thousands of hours officiating kid's events. Have deep connections with the facility and countless member friends. A few weeks ago, I was physically assaulted by a young member, accused of something I didn't do, and came under defamatory personal attack. Despite my history and lengthy spotless usage, the Y staff did nothing. I have been passed to six different people. None have been remotely helpful. And I'm encountering difficulty getting refund on the 6 months I've paid ahead. I'm both heartbroken and disgusted. The current Y is unrecognizable with the facility I thought I knew. Leadership is unprofessional and comes off as having no actual insight into the reasons that people use the facility and choose to remain there. After 56 years, these decisions are unpleasant, but I feel completely devalued and betrayed.

My husband and I were visiting family in town and needed a place to stretch. Sol Yoga provided a…read morewonderful experience. We just showed up and the instructor Karen quickly made space for us in an already full room. We took the heated flow class and it was exactly what we both needed. The studio room itself was wonderful-well lit through large windows with natural lighting, hardwood floors were clean and class temperature was just right. Karen offered me a stickier mat as my hands were slipping on the mat I had. I thought it was very perceptive of her to notice and to make sure I was comfortable and safe throughout the 90 min practice. Thank you Sol Yoga for taking such good care of us, we will definitely pop in for a class next time we're visiting Rapid City.
