AWESOME: price and location (dead center of town) GROOVY: room furnishings, hotel guidebook If you wanna be in Kremmling (fishing or snowmobiling or 4th of July mud races or road trip), then you wanna be here. They also have 'themed' western rooms. I love themed rooms. Theirs could stand to be a little more over the top to fit my taste, but still rad that they are trying to match up the rooms with the history of the hotel and area.

Pros: - charming place - affordable - nice owner or manager - while it has no A/C, you can open a window and my room had 2 fans to use. Cons: - some rooms only have public bathrooms to use. - Sheets were not the cleanest but not terrible & when I think about it- other hotels I've stayed in had hair on pillows too. - Shower floor is not good. I skipped showering. - Room 115 had bed bugs on July/30/21. * Hadn't done any traveling or staying in public places until my night in this hotel. And haven't done any since. * I saw a tiny red bug on the pillow the morning after but didn't think much of it because I didn't know what bed bugs look like. * Next day I was a bit itchy. I checked my body and had 11 bites. * For those of you unaware, bed bug bites typically appear in rows of 3-5 (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). They may also appear in clusters. They can take up to 10 days to appear after the time of being bitten but if you have sensitive skin (like me) they will appear on the earlier side. * Day after that I had 24 bites visible. * Day after that I had over 100 bites visible. * I've taken thorough precautions to avoid infecting my apartment- but i did see a tiny red bug in my car. * Have gotten around 12 hours of sleep in the last 5 days (due to itchiness) & spent $100+ on medications/anti-itch but nothing has worked.

Seriously do not miss this charming hotel! The rooms are adorable, spotless, funky, and fun! We stayed in the "John Denver " room which was so cute and a clever tribute to the late artist. The bed was super comfy and I really liked the attention to details such as mini fridge, microwave, DVD player with John Denver movies of course, ceiling fan, and dual reading lights. The bathroom was private, and you had to turn sideways to get around it to the sink. If you are looking for a sterile, cookie cutter room, where you don't have to "plug your phone into the wall" as one reviewer mentioned, (first world problem) and would like to experience a true taste of the old west, and the charm the new owners have added, don't miss!!!!! And if you book an economical room and have a shared bathroom, just get over it and be thankful you live in the greatest country on earth that has darling hotels like the Eastin!!!!

What a cool place, built late 1800's. Old west style. Felt like I needed to check my gunbelt at the door. Stairs and floors creaked just like you'd expect. If you expect luxury, stay in another town (no other hotels here). If you like quaint, livable accommodations with nice friendly hosts, this is for you. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

I had placed the reservation and realized the town was too far to get to. This is not why I am giving this establishment 3/5 stars. The reason for the 3/5 stars is the customer service provided by the front desk staff. The guy was little to no help as he "just went to bed after we booked this spot" and that there is nothing he can do to help. I'm a firm believer if a company utilizes a 3rd party company they would have a better solution.

I chose the motel because it was close to Hot Sulfur Hot Springs. Staff seemed annoyed that I was checking in and during pretty much every interaction after that. Pizza and sandwiches available made at motel but super expensive for what you get but really no other options for food unless you go to Granby. I picked up a newspaper laying in the ground in front of the office door and front desk clerk scowled at me and threw it in the back office after I set it in counter. I get that it was a holiday and they were busy but I experienced really poor customer service. Some positives: the bed was comfortable and room was warm. No coffee makers in rooms so I walked to office in the morning in my PJ's and was given two cups of coffee in styrofoam cups with no lids. Got back to room and tripped and spilled coffee on bed accidentally. I told management right away as I was checking out. They texted me a few hours after I checked out and said they were going to charge me an additional $50 for the blanket because they couldn't get the stain out. I find that ironic as the clean towels in the bathroom hanging up when I got there had stains all over them. I get that they are a small/town business trying to make a buck but hospitality, kindness and courtesy go a long way. I want to help support small businesses during challenging covid times but hospitality is important. I'd recommend driving the extra 15-20 minutes from Granby or Grand Lake and staying at a hotel with much better amenities, rooms and service if you're planning on going to hot springs. For this stay, the convenience of how close Canyon Motel was to hot springs was not worth it.

The xc skiing at Devil's Thumb has always been a favorite for us, as far back as the 70's when it was just a rustic ski trail system with a small nordic supply shop. In recent years it became a full fledged resort with lodging where we have often stayed. We have also stayed in Winter Park, about 15 minutes away and driven over to ski. But we have now found our new favorite option. This is such a lovely place, both the facility and the charming staff. It is a better price value for us than some of the other options in the area, yet more than a simple motel in town. You know, like Goldilocks, "just right." I especially want to note that the (included) breakfast that host John cooks for the guests was wonderful, some sweet, some savory, warm, homemade, natural and ample for the start of even an hearty ski day. They take note in advance of special food needs and serve with a choice of time options. The log style of the building is rustic but nicely furnished. The rooms are well designed and furnished with high quality linens and have lots of storage as some guests stay for weeks. The views from each room are very pretty, some to the Continental Divide, some to the woodland. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The central lounge area was large, comfortable, attractive and clean and with a central fireplace. There are also some other smaller gathering areas to sit and talk or read if you wish to be outside your room. And there are also some family and dog friendly cabins on site if you want more than a bedroom. Personally, the rooms in the main inn are just right for my needs. We will absolutely be back. It is convenient to local xc skiing and also just a 15 minute drive past the Winter Park Resort and not far at all from several quality dinner options. We met other guests using the lodging for all of these reasons.

It's also a 5 minute drive to Grand Lake and horseback riding. The town is definitely on "mountain time" meaning they start shutting down when it gets slow, or just before nightfall. THE RANCH: The ranch in general does have a lot to offer and it appeared that it's mostly used for weddings. They have a basketball court, volleyball court, kids play area, petting area with various farm animals, indoor pool, workout area, kitchen area, gazebo, fishing stream, 2 bridges, yard games, s'mores fire pit, BBQ grills, and a ton of places for photo ops! There were also several cabins throughout the ranch of various sizes that could hold families of 4-5 in each cabin. I think there were close to 15 different cabins to stay in. PROS: We really liked being on the ranch and got to spend some great quality family time doing family events on the ranch. We fished, rode horses, played BB, cornhole, and a few other yard games. We also saw a large Moose and her baby grazing about 100m from our cabin. It's really common to see Moose in the area, but it was a special treat to see her with her baby. We also saw humming birds and tiny chipmunks around all cabins each day. CONS: For 2 days we became overwhelmed by mosquito's. It got so bad that they called in a local company to fog the area with repellent to help kill them. The fogging did help and significantly reduced the number of mosquito's in the area. The rooms, bedding, beds, bathrooms, and cabins in general are nothing to brag about. They are old, and in need of big updating. I tried not to let this cloud my judgement about the ranch as a whole because we were there to enjoy the outdoors but it would have been nice to come back to a nice room and shower at the end of the day. If their main focus is a wedding venue, I was expecting to be in a much nicer cabin, especially considering they cater to people on one of their most memorable days. The cell phone coverage in the area is very hit and miss. Overall, the family and I enjoyed our time here and made some great memories!!

Upon arrival, Eddie and her daughter greeted us warmly. We were told since the room we originally booked had some plumbing issues we got upgraded to a better room. Yay! The new room is bigger and has a fire place. Eddie took us on a mini tour to see the other lodges on the property as well since each one has a different theme and they are actually quite funky. The lodge we stayed at was small but had adequate space. The kitchen has everything you need except spices and seasonings. There are lodges that can accommodate pets so just ask.
