The place is looking pretty dated now and it would be impossible to count all the repaired sections of the nets that surround each soccer 'field'. There are four soccer courts, two volleyball courts and two basketball courts in total. Teams play 5-a-side soccer games that are pretty short but are long enough to work up a decent sweat. On that topic, the hall can get pretty smelly with body odour at times - particularly noticeable in summer. The centre plays host to kids aged three to adults. There is a great atmosphere in there all the time. As well as the courts and soccer they have a pro sports shop directly to the right when you first walk in. The store is catered towards soccer only and stocks things like clothing, soccer balls, goals, bibs and agility poles.

I've been here to play hockey and it is home to a number of Melbourne based hockey clubs. There are two water based hockey pitches that are of the highest quality. In fact they are of international standard. They are hands down the best hockey pitches I've played on in Australia and for that reason it is hard to give them anything other than 5 stars. It is also run as a non-profit facility by the State Sport Centres Trust which can only be a good thing.

In fact, this is basically one of those ts Kilda icons and it has been around for ages. In fact I remember coming here as a kid, and going on the rollarcoaster with my Mum. Yeah, this place really does have some history, and the rollar coaster is literally heritage listed (and still operational, in normal times that is). It's more Coney Island old school than the real place. There's (no kidding) the world's oldest working roller coaster at this park. My kid loved it (and so did everyone else). So if you've got a couple hours to spare, and you're in St. Kilda anyway, do yourself a favor and step inside -- your kids will beam with joy. We were in all parts of Melbourne and Victoria, and maybe I'm biased because the kids had so much fun, but Luna is one of the top things we did while in Victoria.
