Amazing client services, really sad that most gym/sportsmemberships aren't like this team. I got a memebership there a year back but hurt myself pretty badly. Unfortantely, I had to stop going and processed a cancellation of my membership. Some how the process never finished and I was getting charged. I was able to get help from the location manager (Lou) and she was really understanding and respectful. She was able to get the situation resolved pretty quickly and I remembered why I fell in love with the place. You can always replace equipment and courts but you can't replace great client experiances. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a sports gym to check out the Hub Alameda read more

My employer recently booked a tournament with The Hub in Campbell. We were quickly in contact with Dipti. Dipti was able to meet with us in person and also by email to go over all the details. Dipti also provided a timeline which allowed for us to simply enjoy the event. Our event was for approximately 100 people which included players and spectators. For some of the people, it was their first time playing pickleball and for others it was there first time playing at the Hub. All of the details were taken care of, even some that we did not even consider. The surfacing on the courts and the amount of courts they have here is amazing! However I will say, pricing just keeps going up and I don't think it's going to stop, because they know people here in the bay make too much and will pay whatever amount to have nice courts with good people to play here. I personally just buy the day passes here and come during the weekend every so often, and stay all day (since they have in n out privileges) to make my pass worth it. I remember the good old days when day passes were just $25, but now it is $40! A bit too much for me, if you are looking for a free court with good opponents, you can play at Mitchell park in Palo Alto. Also, during rainy days is very busy so be mindful of that if you are coming because you can't play outside for free, because everyone else has the same idea! Other than that, when I do come to the hub, I always get good games in when I play in the higher skill levels read more

The HUB is hands down the best place to play pickleball in the Bay Area. 20 Courts that are pristine - super well maintained, even lighting throughout the premises, and they are labeled by skill level so that you're guaranteed to get GOOD GAMES when you drop in! Super friendly staff, lots of regulars, it's a strong community of folks that support each other. You can drop in for open play anytime with your membership or a day pass, plus they have non rated events + DUPR rated events happening throughout the week for both men, women, and mixed teams. I personally find my level of pickleball addiction to be way higher than most of my friends, so I love that in addition to fixed partner events, they have a lot of events that allow you to join as a solo player and you keep getting auto-paired with others in a round robin format. Great to keep playing with different partners so you can get better on your own schedule while learning to adapt to so many different play styles. Even during the summer time when the outdoor weather is great and we have parks closer to home, my friends and family way prefer to drive the extra bit to the Hub because we know we'll get way better games for the same amount of time compared to open play at a park where the wait time may be longer and the games are hit or miss, and then you're stuck waiting in line all over again. The Hub has a very organized challenge system where you can stay if you win during non busy times, but everyone moves off to give the next players a turn if there are 4+ paddles waiting. There's also a single dedicated challenge court permanently dedicated to having the 2 winners stay on forever for as long as they keep winning!! They also have a small locker room, shower, and clean bathrooms, and a soft matte area with some cardio equipment for warming up. One thing I'll tell you is that you WILL get much better at pickleball if you play here. Whether people play for fun or competitively, everyone plays a bit more technically and strategically compared to bang bang bang at parks (though you'll see plenty of those here too!), so your overall breadth of understanding and versatility will inevitably improve. I visited The Hub on my trip to San Jose and it really is a pickleball lovers place to be. It is a very nice facility with many indoor courts, along with a reception area and lounge. There's also an option to demo paddles here as well (I believe it is $10 for guests). As a guest, they have an option for a day pass which is $35, a little pricey in my opinion but would suggest staying as long as possible to get the most value. Maybe there aren't many guests that stop by since there was no signage on how to get a day pass at the front. To do this you need to either create an account at one of the iPads or if you have the court reserve app, you must add this location. To conclude, some of the really nice things that I appreciated were the warm up areas, the multiple open play courts separated by level and short wait times between games. Everyone I encountered were members and said great things about the membership, plus they were all very friendly. If I lived here I think I would definitely become a member. read more

I went on a Friday night when it was super packed, stayed for 4 hours, and got 10 games by getting back in line immediately after finishing. The facilities were all right. There's no ventilation or even fans. On a winter night it was a perfect temperature for me after playing, but I'm not sure how it would be during the day. I'd be worried about it getting smelly. I really liked the dedicated covered parking. There were still spaces even on a crowded day, and the brightly lit garage made me feel safer when I left. read more

I signed up and prepaid for the Basics of Pickleball class on 10/17 ay the Hub by Hamilton Ave location , but unfortunately couldn't make it due to a work commitment -- the reality of being a nurse, right? I did the responsible thing and called ahead to let them know I wouldn't make it and asked if I could reschedule or join another class. I was told they require 48 hours' notice and that rescheduling is a "hassle." Because of that, I was informed that I would forfeit my full payment -- no credit, no partial refund, nothing. While I understand the importance of policies, forfeiting the entire payment feels harsh, unbending, and honestly, a rip-off. Why not a simple penalty or reschedule fee instead of taking it all? It's not about the money -- it's about the principle. For someone trying out the facility for the first time, this was a disappointing and discouraging experience. There are plenty of new pickleball facilities across the Bay Area that are more accommodating and customer-friendly. As for The Hub -- sadly, never again. read more

I was invited by a friend to play here and found it to be a cool place! As an intermediate player, it's often hard to find folks who are not on either end of the skill spectrum. The Hub has signs on each of its 21 courts indicating what skill level they're for. I love how members can demo paddles for free I believe or there may be a special paddle demo package. The courts are in great condition and players are generally pretty friendly. Gatorade was $2 which is nice compared to the usual $4 I see other recreation places charging. The membership is definitely steep at $130 a month and also requires an initiation fee. For the price it's not really for me but if you want a nice indoor pickleball experience, this is it. read more

Came here to meet up with some friends who are regulars. The courts are really well surfaced, the organization to know who's playing next, and the levels associated to each court is very helpful The cost was $35 for a day pass, but I saw that in 2025 there's a new updated price to $40 for a day pass. Hub, Hub, Hub! Great indoor pickleball courts! You can sign up to be a member or just a simple drop in play! This is like my second home! Haha great community here and the courts are very nice and clean! If you want to have a fun time and get a great workout in stop by the hub and try it out! They have courts design for beginners to advance drop in plays! There's 20 courts or so here but it gets packed during the week days! So if you want to practice more go on the weekends! The only thing I would ask to be improved is the CONSISTENCY of the Lighting for each court! The courts closer to the entrance are brighter than the back courts. I notice this and many others notice this as well and it can throw you off when you play on different courts. That's why I gave it a 4/5 or else it would be 5/5! 10.21.2024 update Responding to Mike's comment on my review; it's truly laughable. We spoke on the phone together he never mentioned anything from his comment nor was he part of the horrible correspondence I had with Trish, both myself and my coworker were very patient with the teams incorrect information given on multiple occasions. I got frustrated with Trish once after I caught her retracting previous statements multiple times. Take note that Mike chose to not respond to any of the true issues I had while booking but it appears that is what he has done to every poor review on Yelp. Not actually apologize and address the clients concern. Ultimately, we all have worked in the service industry and it's a joke if you want to call a client 'difficult' as to why you cancelled them last minute. I have worked my share of service industry events and dealt with far more difficult situations. I never would have spoke to a client the way Trish did, nor treat a paying customer like this. Like I said in my review, I am more that willing to share any of my correspondence to back up my review. In response to the email concern, yes it was an issue but definitely not last minute, it was only with our initial inquire, took a week till we figured out we had an issue. IT fixed it but we still had everything up and running a month before our intended event date. We booked a month beforehand. No contract till 3 days before the event. The week of timeline looked like this; Monday we got the contract, Thursday was the event. If you consider yourself one that needs to ask a couple extra questions, pass on an event here. It clearly was far too overwhelming for their team. ---- Horrible experience with this facility, my company (meaning myself and our admin) set up a team building event with Trish directly. We were given information that was inaccurate and on multiple occasions mislead with our communication. Below is a summary of everything that went wrong. We only booked our event about a month out and here is what went wrong. We were given and quote and told we could change our numbers 10 days before. She backpedaled on this. All of a sudden no changes allowed according to the contract we never received. Told we'd be charged 50% for the down payment, instead charged 100%. Catering information said a 12 person minimum. All of a sudden it became a 20 person minimum. Told us we should get our catering elsewhere. Told us we need to sign a contract 3 days before the event. I had an outstanding question about the overcharge, she never responded and cancelled our event less than 24 hours out. I was communicating the question via text/email and was being ignored. Told I could help teach my team how to play, she reneged on that. 'Against policy', well I even offered to pay the coaching fee. I was really looking forward to teaching my coworkers how to play. I play 4.5+ and now had to cancel same day with my team. What a way to run a team building event. Overall the entire communication was a disaster. Disappointed as I love those who run the Alameda facility. We've played here numerous times and based off this experience they won't be getting my business again. If anyone would like to see snapshots of the disaster communication please feel free to message me. I attached just one of the emails we sent kindly asking for a response. Only to get responded with a cancellation email. I hope someone in upper management takes care of us. We had paid all invoices on time and were communicating daily with Trish, to be ignored. I'll be sharing my experience with all my friends in the pickleball community. UPDATE: Mike Fox spoke to me regarding our experience and nothing really came of that. I was more than willing to provide all the correspondence I had (seldom responses from Trish) yet supposedly this was already provided. I received an apology but that was it. No offer to make this right. I had a large percentage of the people I told this experience to express to me that this sounded like they had a better offer for the courts we wanted and purposefully cancelled our less profitable event. Not sure if this happened but that's how outsiders viewed my experience. No response, just cancelled our event. read more

The new hype of pickleball!! Great community building! 20 courts so there's plenty of courts for different skill levels. Usually pretty crowded on weekdays after 5pm but the wait isn't too bad. Weekends is usually less crowded with some empty courts often times. Players are friendly and drop ins are very welcoming. Membership monthly fees are reasonable, day passes are little on the higher end but it's better to get the 10 pack deal if you plan to come back sparingly but cant commit to a monthly subscription. That means poor management does not know how to hire proper skilled and vetted people. Plenty of courts, great for community and decently affordable if you commit to the membership & come to play often. Super clean and organized! If I still lived around the area, I would honestly get the monthly membership. Everyone is super friendly and there's players of all skill levels with ample drop in courts. During nights, it's usually busy - and even more so when it's raining outside. But if you want to uplevel your pickling, here's the place to go and find groups of people playing consistently that you can also get to know! Since I don't have the monthly membership, I usually just do the 10 pack, which is about $250 (avging $25/drop in) vs the single day drop in which is $30/day. So you save about $5 per visit. :) read more

Disastrous from start to finish. Tammy could not have been less helpful. I planned a corporate event at this facility last year including over $1000 in catering. The planning team was very difficult to get ahold of, requiring several emails and calls before responding. On the day, when we arrived, there were players on our reserved courts, the meager food offerings had been sitting uncovered and unlabeled for an unknown amount of time, and there was no event manager on site to speak with. Despite being indoors, flying bugs were all over the food and area (see pictures). We reached out seeking only a partial refund (specifically for the catering debacle) and were avoided, lied to, and ultimately denied. I have maintained all email records and am happy to share them here if further proof is needed. I let it go at the time, however just today received a fairly audacious advertising email from Tammy and decided to share my story here. Save your money and energy. There are plenty of rentable courts elsewhere. read more

I witnessed a failed public relations handling yesterday! An Asian female staff tried to stop a group of more than six people playing together. I know another staff Susan, who is very friendly and nice. I did not see any posted notice prohibiting same group of four players playing on the same court. Such a fun place to hang out with friends! Pickle ball is going viral this year and I'm so happy that we have an indoor place to play, before this I need to get up early to play pickle ball otherwise the sunburn will be really bad. The flooring was really nice to sprint on, and it felt the ball was bouncing higher. There are also lawn chairs you can sit on and rest. It's good grouping place for sure. read more

After going to the hub for about a year, I'd say it's worth it. There are plenty of courts available for open play. For the amount of games you get with no wind or any elements affecting your game, it makes it worthwhile. During summer times, it can get pretty warm since there isn't any ac or much ventilation. Great community whether you're there for the social aspect or for competitive purposes. If you love pickeball, this is the spot to check out to get solid games in and meet new people. The Hub has become my happy place. There is a wonderful community of players that are welcoming to all. Came for their soft opening free play Saturday July 29th. They hosted open house for Saturday Sunday. I came because friends mentioned it and it was a great way to spend my Saturday morning. I wish I stayed longer but it got unbearable in there. Yes, it was free, yes it was busy.... So for starters, I came and was not greeted by anyone. There were three people at the front desk. With no direction, I stood there awkwardly. My friend saw waivers and asked, do we need to fill this out? Not much of an answer, but we signed in. Then proceeded to wait.... We didn't know it was just sign in and walk in and play.. Luckily we saw our friend! He took us in to where our friends were playing. Right off the bat, no introduction to the facility, the rules, or membership. I understand that maybe they didn't because it was free? Anyway, it was a mad house party up in there. It was fun to hang out with friends and meet new players, but it got competitive quick. Then after one game, I realized how hot it was. Yes, this won't be at full capacity when it's memberships only, but I felt like I was doing bikram pickleball. Is that a new thing now? haha. There is no AC in the warehouse. Again, I know it is new, but wow... It was HOT. Ready for the kicker? It felt like an adult chuck e cheese. The place smelt like feet and BO. I'm getting flash backs just thinking about Saturday. Haha. wow. They have turf inside with small industrial fans so it was picking up the smells.... And these adults, they sure just don't know how to care for themselves. Some walk ways are a little narrow for the amount of space they have. I will say the staff can work on their greetings. I was interested in how things works, but no introduction or what was offered at the facility. Might come back in the future as a drop in once I find some information. read more

She came off as rude and unprofessional, and when I asked around, others mentioned she has a bit of a reputation for that. I've been a member of The Hub for one year and was a Pickleball newbie when I joined. I can't say enough great things about The Hub community. I have made a new, wonderful group of friends that have now become friends off the court.  I have to give a special shoutout to the Head Pro, Trish. I have taken a few lessons from her, and she has elevated my game beyond where I thought I would be in one year. She is positive, patient, and kind, and her passion for the game is infectious. Great Club, but I do have two issues. We pay good money for a FULL MONTH membership, YET MANY TIMES courts are Limited or Entirely taken over by events . . . Why BE CHARGED for every day of the month, and NOT GET what we PAID FOR? There should be Compensation because, THE HUB often "Double-Dips" revenue by Charging participants 4 the event AND US MEMBERS who don't have full use of the facilities??? We pay to PLAY, not to observe others! Other issue: There is No Employees supervising the courts area, so sometimes there are play violations that are frustrating. 1. Jumping the waiting rack is prevalent w/ cliches of friends waving friends into play w/out their paddles being in the rack. . . 2. Singles are skipped because they don't have a partner . . . 3. Players chatting endlessly with spectators during play w/in a game, while others are waiting for play to continue. Our only option? Freeze your membership, Be CHARGED & TAXED (?) "STILL" 4 the privilege! Otherwise, I hope the fee TO PLAY doesn't raise again above the $150 - $120/ month! Put a gym in those "special rooms" for those who want to stretch, & strength train!
